Radio
There will be no radio show tomorrow. Next week we will be back and in a brand new home which should be permanent!! We have some great great guests lined up for next week and hopefully one you have all been clamoring for. It will be worth the wait. We might even try and do an extra hour just to have one hour of your calls. Plus, I will be feeling better next week. Right now if you heard me, well, you would not be able to hear me through all the coughing. The good news is I lost six pounds this week.
Alexander Skarsgaard?? lol guess not.
ReplyDeleteI'll miss you, Enty--for once, I'm not working on a Saturday! I hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteMichael K?!?
ReplyDeleteMichael K! *L* Or maybe Ben Affleck!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to hearing it either way!
MICHAEL K!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteMICHAEL K MICHAEL K MICHAEL K!??!?!?
ReplyDeleteDude. I wanna call in, if that's the case.
Feel better soon Enty!
ReplyDeleteFeel Better soon!
ReplyDeleteI don't know..hearing Michael K. might ruin Dlisted for me! I have a specific voice in my head when I read his blog.
ReplyDeleteEnty - that sounds like my kind of diet, unfortunately.
ReplyDeleteI will miss you tommorrow. But I would LOVE to call in on Saturday.
I just subscribed on iTunes Canada, Enty, thanks for the updates.
ReplyDeleteFeel better soon, and if it's the flu it should be good for another 10 LBS.
The RN in me also wants to say, please remember to drink lots of fluids, don't laugh, it's important Mister!
Get some rest Enty. We want you back in tip top shape.
ReplyDeleteare you moving out of the basement?
ReplyDeleteMy guess is John Stamos.....no way Enty would do Ben A so early in the radio career...or WOULD HE?
ReplyDeleteO_o
Take care of yourself
ReplyDeleteEnty, this is not the way to lose weight - you need to burn it off with wild sex! I hope it's Michael K. too!
ReplyDeleteSo does this mean you're too busy- whoops! I mean "sick" to give us a Four for Friday?
ReplyDeleteI listen to talk radio on AM and FM stations. When the host is sick, he has a stand in or the co-host takes over. Is Carli not available?
ReplyDeleteThere is also a repeat show that can be played. I am aware that you have had only two shows, but the very first show could have been replayed?.
I did not know that a show goes AWOL when the host is sick?
there's talk at my fri nite (and used to be sat nite also) hangouts that this blogger accepts payment from publicists for not incl some celebs in his blinds. idk.
ReplyDeleteUpdated the ipod - ready for the next broadcast! Feel better!
ReplyDeleteThe show probably got canned for poor ratings so he's had to move it to a new station. That's why he's been "sick" all week.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeletei'm sure enty appreciates all your bitching and moaning.
ReplyDeleteyup
ReplyDeleteuh huh good call lady chat.
ReplyDeleteuh huh and didnt enty use to get people to fill in on the blog when he couldn't post, i.e. Jax? What happened?
ReplyDeleteoh, enty, would you like us to donate some more money so you don't have to actually work for it like the rest of us? then you can be even lazier.
Jeronimo, isn't writing a blog and keeping us entertained working?
ReplyDeleteYou would pay for a magazine, or pay to go to a movie, so why not pay to read a blog? No one forces you to be here reading.
You know, it's kind of weird to me the way people who doubt Enty or have harsh feelings about how he handles his blog, use the comments section of his own blog to talk about their unhappiness. To me, it's as if someone invites you over for dinner and when the plate of steak (or a veggie burger) is presented, the guest starts discussing the poor quality of the food and service. This is Enty's blog--he has a right to run it how he wishes.
ReplyDeleteSimilarly, when Perez Hilton started to offend me--he can be so catty and mean sometimes--I wrote him an email and told him that I thought he was being insensitive. He never wrote back, and he continued to be what I considered an a**hole. Did I take to the comments section to discuss it? No. I simply stopped reading his webpage.
ReplyDeleteSo I think that Enty really is sick; I also think that he has the right to post or not post Random Photos or Four for Friday, or to have a radio show on a particular Saturday. If you disagree, I'd suggest you email him and politely start a discourse with him. He doesn't always respond to emails but sometimes he does. If it really bothers you that the blog isn't what you want it to be, or that the radio show is transforming, then start your own blog or radio show, stop reading this blog, or volunteer to help him.
ReplyDeleteI just get kind of tired of people saying rude things about him in what is essentially his own house. I say all of this with compassion--I know that people love this site and want it to be the best it can be. Please consider the fact that this is Enty's site, though, when you make your comments.
ReplyDeleteEnty has always encouraged discourse within the comments section about the style and content of the site... one of the things I've always liked about it.
ReplyDeleteOnce he started asking for batches of money, he lost the right to just to just post when he feels like it. The readers of this site raised over $6500 to go towards licensing fees for the random photos. Yet he continues to go without posting them for days at a time.
He also failed to follow through his end of the bargain and provide the Amber Tamblyn books to people who donated over $50.
Now he has started a radio venture using reader money, and it looks like its starting to fail (the radio show has been bumped from its station and it looking for a new home). Let's hope it's not a waste of money.
The readers are basically investors, and we're not getting our money's worth! We have a right to be mad and complain. This public forum is the best place for that, so that future readers thinking of donating can be informed.
Thanks.
^^^You've made some good points. Well said!
ReplyDeleteIf people want to donate to this site, I could care less. It'll never be my money, but this is what I don't understand...
ReplyDeleteThis blogger actually knows celebs, their publicist, or how to get in contact with them, etc. He appears to be resourceful, so why hasn't he consulted with someone about the best way to strike out on the radio venture. Clearly advertisement needs to be involved to reach people who do NOT read this blog.
Some readers here may not care to listen to the radio show, so he HAS to branch out.
I don't want to accuse him of laziness, but something's not making sense.
Maybe he works full time and has barely enough time to write the blog and do a radio show. Something to consider.
ReplyDeleteI agree that respectful comments are perfectly acceptable. What bugs me is when people say stuff like his show "probably got canned for poor ratings." Let's say that's true. How would you feel about someone coming into your house and saying, "Well, I see you went and got yourself fired from your job. Is that why you've been 'sick' all week?" It just shows a true lack of empathy; there is an actual person behind this blog, who has real live feelings.
I rarely post, but I have stated in the last week or so, that Ent may be in a crunch for time. If he wants to focus more on radio, then it's time to end this blog on a high note.
ReplyDeleteMuch success in whatever he ends up doing.
Well he apparently does work fulltime, but has always had time for the blog. If he doesn't have time for a radio show also, common sense should tell you that one or the other has to give. You don't ask for money knowing you can't fulfill your promises.
ReplyDeleteKnow one should care if someone is dishing a bit of snark out to Enty, he makes his living doing the same thing. Conjecture is his thing. There are actual people behind all the celebs Ent writes about, doesn't stop him being judgemental.
My point is, if you hold everyone else to such high standards of behavior, like Ent does with this blog, you should probably make sure you're a moral person too.
Enty doesn't go into celebrities' houses and start talking about them. He does it on HIS blog. I'm suggesting that people who have snark re: Enty should save it for a better forum than Enty's own house.
ReplyDeleteThe radio show didn't get canceled; Enty bought two shows in hope he would find a permanent home, and that's what happened. He was very clear about this when he asked for the donations.
ReplyDeleteEven with the slow down, Enty is still posting a lot more than most bloggers do. Unless you've tried to write a daily blog yourself, you have no idea how much time and energy it takes.
The only reason we're disappointed with how things have been lately is because Enty has set the bar so high in the past with the blog. I'm sure we all hope things pick up again, but let's have some perspective, and maybe a little bit more patience.
And I'm just talking to the extremists - I think most people have been very polite with expressing how they miss the "good old days." :)
ReplyDeleteMaybe I overlooked something, but where on this blog does Enty say that he bought "two" shows? Post the link.
ReplyDelete==Enty bought two shows in hope he would find a permanent home, and that's what happened.==
Furthermore, he has said time and time again that he could handle people posting snark about him. He has no choice in that matter.
I also don't see any extremism in these posts.
Sorry, I remembered wrong - it was two months, so I don't know what the deal is. As far as extremism, I think saying Enty should end the blog is pretty extreme. And I wasnt' just talking about the comments on this post. Whatever. I'm just sick of all the bitching.
ReplyDeleteThe reason we want to express ourselves in the comments is so that people can look back and get some opinion before donating in future. No malice is intended towards Enty. If reading such complaints is so unbearable I can only suggest not reading my comments or others that bother you.
ReplyDeleteWhat I know is I speak for many people who feel the same way and have experienced the dodgy side of enty in more ways than just a few missed random photos. I've thought a lot about it and don't think any of your excuses really justify his behavior IMHO. But by all means defend him, every issue has two sides and people can judge for themselves what particulars are important to them when deciding whether to donate or not.
So noted, but if my memory serves me right someone suggested using this blog for blinds and radio podcasts. That's not a bad idea. I'm sorry I just don't call that extremism either way.
ReplyDeleteHe needs to handle the radio show with better gusto than with the blog's advertisements. This ends it for me.
As someone who has donated way back for the licensing of the photos, I agree that it is disappointing that Enty appears to have spread himself to thin. I have no interest in the radio show. I tried to listen to the first broadcast for a few minutes and it was a waste of time. I prefer to scan the blog and pick out what interests me, not sit through two hours of chat on the radio. Sad to see the blog go downhill because of the radio show. Will not be donating in the future.
ReplyDeleteAlso, didn't Enty promise a bunch of blinds reveal in exchange for donations? I think only one was revealed.
ReplyDeleteI don't find it disrespectful to call him out on broken promises. They are after all just that.
Does he "owe" me anything? Nope. That doesn't mean I can't voice my disappointment. Honestly, I would think constructive feedback, both positive and negative, would be helpful to Enty in deciding the direction of the blog/radio show.
Also, if you read the comments at other blogs you can see that any complaints here are mild in comparison.
I believe he did provide a bunch of blind reveals, caralw.
ReplyDeleteFor what it's worth, I'm kind of disappointed with fewer posts, but then again, I didn't contribute any money, so I'm still getting my money's worth. If you donated money, bitch away. For the rest of us, it's a free blog run by a guy who has two other jobs.
