  12. OMG - Enty's at the Royal Wedding!
Who knew the royals were fans of the blog?
Don't drink too much at the bachelor party - and no trying to run off with the bride - I hear the Tower isn't a pleasant stay.
Regardless, hope you're having fun and this is a pleasure trip not a business one - you deserve the relaxation.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Mango, unless enty's FB page is private you're able to read it without being a member.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Hope that you are having a womderful time. We can wait until you get back. : )

Hope you are enjoying your stay. I recommend don't visit Mexico, the way things are over there. I am right next to one of there cities and their is no way I would step foot there.

  20. Front pews at the Royal Wedding? Have some cake for me!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Ooh, how exciting, today's blind item should be "Guess Where Enty Is"!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Now I'm going to have to watch the wedding to see if there's a fat man among the guests! *LOL*

    ReplyDelete
  23. His posts on FB have been of some tropical looking place with crocodiles?

    ReplyDelete
  24. There will be a fat man there Maja. His name is Elton John.

    ReplyDelete
  25. enty,
try not to start any revolutions.

  27. Elton John isn't fat, he's festively plump.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Have fun! If it's the royal wedding remeber the Queen is suppose to carry a handgun in her purse. So don't get drunk and tell her you are glad America had a revolution against them.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Hope it's for fun and relaxation and not business. Say HI to Kate and Wills for me! xoxox

    ReplyDelete
  30. I bet it's a crappy business trip. But that's ok. Order in room service and lots of $7.99 movies!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Say hi to Kate and William for us!

    ReplyDelete
  32. @ard Maybe she'll have a brick in there too

    ReplyDelete
  33. @ Mily Marz

    TIJUANA!

    ReplyDelete
  34. That's OK, Enty. We can entertain ourselves for a while.

Did anyone see Kneepads.com? January Jones is pregnant! My first thought was, "Is it Bobby Flay's? Jason Sudeikis'?" At least her pregnancy could be written into "Mad Men," depending on when filming starts.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Anonymous6:10 PM

@trashtalker. when i read january jones for some reason i thought of star jones..freaked me out for a bit, until i read the next paragraph

    ReplyDelete
  36. Probably in Costa Rica, right? Since he posted on fb recently about the reality show that's shooting there?

    ReplyDelete
  37. Let's hope January will stop drinking. :(

    ReplyDelete
  38. If you run into Waldo send him my best. Have a great trip.

    ReplyDelete
  39. May I send a Flat Stanley to you?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Oh - Gladys - I live in Brooklyn and we are about to launch our summer reading program with the Library. How about a Flat Panda instead (he is our summer reading mascot)?!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Thank you, Maja, I was about to say something similiar re: Sir Elton. :)

Enty, I hope it's a vacation you are one (vs. work trip) b/c it sounds like you are long overdue for one! Have a great time and safe travels!

  42. Hey if you're at the Royal Reception, tell Princess Bea/Eugenie/whichever one to take the hair rollers out of her hat.

That thing was HIDEOUS. And who wears dusty rose anymore?

In any event, hope you post a pic of her, if any are released.

  44. Hi,

I'm a long time lurker, and first time blogger (I think)... I just heard about the MV blind the other day and wanted to know if there was an ongoing discussion in a thread/blog post dedicated to the blind? Or is the blind old news and no one cares anymore? lol

    ReplyDelete
  45. I heard Jones' agent released a statement about how she'll be a single mom - I'm guessing Flay :)

    ReplyDelete
  46. I'm totally guessing B Flay. Top secret since he is married. Is there a blind out about her?

    ReplyDelete
  47. Dusty rose is back in...as is every other hideous trend from the 80s.

    ReplyDelete
  48. So, I am not the only one who said OMG when January announced her pregnancy! If Flay is the Baby Daddy, his wife is going to own his ass in the divorce. I bet there are men all over CA sweating profusely right now....LMAO

    ReplyDelete
  49. January Jones pregnant? What's Mike Huckabee gonna say about this?

    ReplyDelete
  50. @disenchanted vagabond - do an MV search on CDAN and you will find a bunch of posts with a LOT of comments and guesses. I don't think there is a current conversation about MV, but she comes up from time to time...

    ReplyDelete
  51. Dear Enty, It's days like today and yesterday that make me realize how much I love this site. A day without a CDAN post is like night! I hope you're having a good time...

    ReplyDelete
  52. @disenchanted - I think the two names still mainly in the running are J.Lo and Britney.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Is this January Jones pregnancy an answer to a blind?? Sounds like it somehow..
Hope you are having fun, Enty! Thanks for the little surprise :)

    ReplyDelete
  54. Off topic - but see pictures of the devastation left by the Alabama tornados. My husband is Chief of Police and Fire in one of the hard hit areas - Pleasant Grove, AL. We need your prayers...

  55. Did y'all see that photo of Scarlett Johansson and Sean Penn at the White House Correspondent's Dinner? She's still sporting that "awkward shirt" underneath that dress.....totally preggo.

  56. Maybe Enty was hunting OBL...

    ReplyDelete
  57. Anonymous6:54 AM

Caydian, you mean NIGHTMARE CHILD is now dead?

    ReplyDelete
  58. i'm thinking maybe Enty didn't go to the royal wedding after all...i think he was involved in some special op's ;)

    ReplyDelete
  59. Does anyone think that the Navy Seals waited a couple of days to take out Osama bin Laden so the news wouldn't overshadow the royal wedding? I can actually see some people getting pissed off at the news pre-empting the wedding coverage. Sideways glance ------> Nightmare Child :D

    ReplyDelete
  60. ugggh need posts! sooo bored. anyone have any non-work blocked sites?

    ReplyDelete
  61. I'd thought the royal honeymoon was delayed because of the Bin Laden raid. And that the raid may have been scheduled to help commemorate 5/1 (date of Hitler's suicide) and 5/1-2 (Yom HaShoah, commemorating the Holocaust.) If not, it's a helluva coincidence.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Anonymous10:17 AM

^^i thought that too, but the 'physical' operation was put into play fri/sat. we are being told by buckingham palace that prince william is back on duty today? could the president have put a bug into the prime minister's ear, who in turned would have mentioned it to a buckingham palace higher up? with the possibility of it leaking out to the press?

my guess is that the president and CIA head told no one.

media was focused on the wedding and obama released his birth certificate recently. talk about smoke-screening.

way to go, commander in chief and the navy special ops!

    ReplyDelete
  63. lol Mango.
We are having a general federal election here in the Canada today and when I heard the news about Bin Laden last night, I just thought, "Man, I hope people aren't too distracted to vote tomorrow!" ;)

    ReplyDelete
  64. Demanding to see Obama's birth certificate is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard in my life. Jesus. Anyone ever hear of focusing on real issues?

    ReplyDelete
  65. @RQ

The election results should be pretty interesting. I wonder who's going to come out on top and if SH doesn't get a majority will he honour what he said and step down as leader? I doubt it.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Enty as a Navy Seal...I can see that.

    ReplyDelete
  67. I can't tell you how much safer I feel knowing Charlie Sheen is in Tuscaloosa spinning all his warlock magic to fix our community.

    http://www.twitpic.com/4sd5go

    ReplyDelete
  68. @Sue Ellen - nah, he won't step down. My prediction? Another minority gov't for Harper. I'm kind of shocked at how the NDP has surged (Ignatieff doesn't cut it as a leader - he should be the one to step down - and those EYEBROWS), and although I hate the NDP with a passion, I guess they're still better than Harper. I'm lucky in that my riding is dominated by a longtime Lib that I actually like. Can't wait to get my popcorn and wine tonight and watch the election results come in. I'm an election whore.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I pretty much agree with everything you said. I'm considering voting Green just so I can say that I had nothing to do with another minority, or the NDP driving the country into the poor house. Personally, I think the Cons and Libs need new leaders. It annoys me more than anything that SH focuses on a coalition, but ignores the fact that hadn't been for the Reform party merging with the PC's, he wouldn't be PM in the first place. Anyhow. I am waiting for Justin Trudeau to take the lead of the Libs. Tick tick.

I remember reading that you did a minor in Pol Sci, so I figured you'd be into this election as much as me.

    ReplyDelete
  70. anyone but SH....please god.

    ReplyDelete
  71. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  72. It was actually a joint major - poli sci, history, french - a specialty major at SFU. I've voted in every single election at every level since I turned 18. I was originally going into politics and had a legislative internship lined up when I graduated, but got waylaid by a good job in the private sector. No regrets. I often volunteer for candidates and have been a scrutineer for elections - anything to get my fix!

Yeah...Trudeau. I'd be into that. I still kind of miss Chretien. I liked him and the Martin power team a lot. Far as I'm concerned, it's been all downhill since the Conservatives/Reformers rolled into town. And Harper...just.....yuck.

    ReplyDelete
  73. PS - the Conservatives love Harper as their leader. He won't step down until that party goes down hard. And that won't be this election. It might not be for some time.

    ReplyDelete
  74. @canadachick - there's a hilarious meme rolling around facebook - a pic of Harper posing with that Kroeger douchebag from Nickelback. The caption says "Remember, a vote for Harper is a vote for Nickelback". That really says it all.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Sue Ellen - I once thought that about Justin, but changed my mind. Though he would be better than Iggy (anyone would be better than him) - I know my local Con candidate and he's a good guy - works hard for the community, the rest all have issues, so I guess my votes an easy one - vote for the person ! - But whatever way you vote - DO IT - get out there and make your mark ! And if you don't - no whining allowed !

    ReplyDelete
  76. So Enty is back in the country and there will be full-format blogging tomorrow

    ReplyDelete
  77. I thought Enty programmed stuff to drop/publish onto the blog at predetermined intervals? Like on reveal days. Guess I'm wrong? I thought he didn't have to sitting at the computer to publish his blinds.

    ReplyDelete
  78. I know absolutely nothing about Canadian politics, except for the stuff I get in the morning from the only radio station that we get here in WA. I really enjoyed reading your comments about it!

    ReplyDelete
  79. It's my first time voting in Canada (just became a citizen a few months back) and I'll be heading down to the polls as soon as I'm done work! Unfortunately I do think there will be another minority government for the cons, but if you have the right to vote, you have to go make your voice heard no matter what you think the outcome will be!

I, too, will be glued to the TV tonight, possibly with snacks.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Enty, we miss you! Luckily I was slammed today and didn't have time to read posts anyways!

I'm very curious to hear his take on the Royal Wedding and OBL.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Congrats, Harriet!

I voted earlier. RQ and Sue Ellen brought up some good points which I had forgotten. I do miss Paul Martin and feel he was a dealt a rotten hand.

I really hope Harper is defeated; I cannot stand his autocratic ways--not allowing dissent of any kind, shutting down parliament twice(!), the way he handled Helena Guergis, etc., etc.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Such bullshit. Why do people buy this 'lawyer's" crap?

    ReplyDelete
  83. Bin Laden dead and the updates on this site stop. Coincidence? I don't think so.

Fact: we never saw EL's face.
Fact: this blog started soon after Bin Laden's last video allocution
Fact: Al-Qaeda's plans have always been to weaken America. Look at where we are now: media coverage is all about celebutards, reality shows and sex tapes. We're living in an age of Kardashians.

Don't you think that Al-Qaeda found America's weak spot and started to exploit it fruitfully? This blog was a gold mine for gossip. It led most of this nation's top intelligences to search for who's the B-list actor who had a coke-binge while working with this B+-list actress who was pregnant of his baby but had an abortion (even if it's so obvious that it was Ben Affleck and Blake Lively).

So, it happens that Bin Laden left another recorded message to his crew a few days before the assault. Don't be surprised if there's finally another edition of the radio show and that it turns out it's the last.

    ReplyDelete
  84. @surfer - totally agree about Martin. He would have been terrific if given the chance.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Angela, I would totally buy into your theory but for one thing: BACON.

Enty loves his delish strips of salted, cured pig belly while bin Laden (as a devout Muslim) would NEVER touch the stuff.

I personally feel that a rogue group of the Illuminati are the secret masterminds behind this blog.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Have you seen Enty eating bacon? That's what the terrorists want you to believe and they want you to eat bacon too. They also want Jewish people to eat bacon. Devout Muslims wouldn't read such a blog anyway, so they were safe.

Now, we know that "Enty" was out of the country and couldn't post from his phone (due to his fear of localization). And it's obvious that the best disguise for a thin and very tall bearded guy would be to use the identity of a short and chubby bald guy.
One thing was certainly true: there was a wife number 3, a wife number 4 and so on. But he didn't divorce them.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Hmmmm, you could be onto something Angela, (my real life name btw, how freaking bizarre is THAT!).
Who was it who said there are no coincidences, Fox Muldur from The X-Files perhaps? ;)

    ReplyDelete
  88. No, I have never seen Enty eating pork but some days I can practically SMELL the bacon emanating from CDAN. It will take more to convince me that bin Laden = Enty.

Also, bin Laden would NEVER know who Vanessa Hudgens was and the cast of Gossip Girl would be as unfamiliar to him as any show on that devil box that broadcasts blasphemous shows about girls in tight short clothing who smoke! And Work! And sleep with men they aren't married to! And sleep with men they aren't married to while being married to other men.

I have heard, though, that bin Laden was a great fan of Full House and found those little twins "delightfully and comically adorable" but that his real love on the show was the very funny Joey, who would cause bin Laden to slap his knees and howl with laughter until he had tears in his eyes at Joey's funny funny jokes and voices.

    ReplyDelete
  89. RQ - I also have a joint in Politics and History!

    ReplyDelete
  90. Your program sounds good except the French bit. I gave up on it in grade 11 and have never looked back. ;)

I'm doing a Specialist in PolSci with a double minor in Law/History at U of T. I was going to do just a Law major, but history is so interesting I couldn't forgo it. I am really jealous that you had an internship out of school. I have been trying to get one at Queens Park for two summers now, but I think they might save those internships for graduating students. Anyway. I agree with you about Chretien and Martin. Chretien is a crazy hilarious Quebecoise and Martin, well, he got a raw deal. I think I'm into Trudeau(jr) because I'm pretty much a Charter Canadian and like what Trudeau (sr) did even though I was too young to comprehend what politics even meant.

I'm watching the returns and they are predicting another Conservative win. Sigh. I cannot believe people like SH. He's got the personality of wallpaper paste.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Wallpaper paste? That's hilarious (and I totally agree). He's a scare-monger. I can't believe he got a majority.

    ReplyDelete
  92. The only good thing about him having a majority is that, at the very least, we won't be run into the poor house like ole' Jack would have done. But seriously? over a hundred seats? Way to go NDP.

    ReplyDelete
  93. And yeah, his personality/charm is the pits.

    ReplyDelete
  94. I'm really scratching my head trying to find a positive in SH's majority. I suppose the fact that we won't have to go to the polls again in two years is a plus. Three elections in six years is too much.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Wow. I feel like SEM and RQ never get along but you guys are totally harmonious in your oddly friendly Canadian way (okay, truth be told, I speak a some French). What's up with Angela? Yeah. Enty is a front for deluding North America. Umm it's really important that all 27,000 of us believe Al Queda was a myth and this blog is just a distraction.

That is the least conspiracy-theory statement I have heard since I can't recall.. Nice work, Angela. Keep it up.. Let me know if you figure out the whole grassy knoll quagmire.

    ReplyDelete
  96. So I just decided to check in to express my disappointment at having been so wrong in my prediction. I'm a little drunky, a conscious decision I made around 9 when
I realized we were looking at a Cons majority. On the bright side, Bloc's collapse is great for unity and a Green has been elected for the first time in history. On the downside...holy crap. This is not my gov't. 38% of Canadians voted for a gov't that was given 58% of the seats and we are in for some Republican-style governing, which is, for Canada, different. And scary to me'. Boyfriend's back with more wine, must go. To Canada. Sigh. Enough with first past the post?

    ReplyDelete
  97. I am shocked that he got a majority. SHOCKED! I am, however, pleased that the Bloc no longer has "official" party status, and I do have to say that Gilles did the right thing by stepping down. Iggy on the other hand? Not one drop of decorum in that one, huh? No one is giving you their seat pal, you're the worst, so just bow out graciously. The good thing? Trudeau retained his seat. Now all we need is the Libs to vote him in as leader.

As far as FPTP? Get rid of it. I think a mixture of PR and something else, perhaps STV, would work, but getting the masses to agree? Almost impossible.

    ReplyDelete
  98. @Mango -- "I have heard, though, that bin Laden was a great fan of Full House and found those little twins "delightfully and comically adorable" but that his real love on the show was the very funny Joey, who would cause bin Laden to slap his knees and howl with laughter until he had tears in his eyes at Joey's funny funny jokes and voices."

Dear Allah, PLEASE let this be true. PLEASE. I have this image of Osama saying things like "Cut. It. Out!" and "You got it, dude!" to his henchmen.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Iggy stepped down this morning - but yes, about 12 hours too late. Let the buzz build for Trudeau #2! What a night. What a country. I feel like I need a hug.
Canadians - this is worth watching if you have 4 minutes. Starts getting really good around minute 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qItqs4HO6hc

    ReplyDelete
  100. @KLM

We don't not get along. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  101. @john - nice! Are you US or Canuck? ;)

    ReplyDelete
  102. Hahaha. I laughed hard when he says that he just had an aneurysm. I SH doesn't make us America Jr and sell this country piecemeal to the States. *fingers crossed*

I have a good video. It's from the Federal election of '08, but it's still hilarious.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4hfGy_b87gI

    ReplyDelete
  103. Sorry, should be I hope that he doesn't.

    ReplyDelete
  104. *glances at watch*

    ReplyDelete
  105. Will have to watch at home - no sound at work!

    ReplyDelete
  106. Enty come back!!!!

    We miss you :(

    ReplyDelete
  107. It's from Mercer, you might have already seen it.

I had no idea Iggy stepped down until you mentioned it. And you're right, it was about 12 hours too late. That said, he did have a good comment I read (and agree with), "I think the surest guarantee of the future of the Liberal party of Canada is four years of Conservative government and four years of NDP official Opposition."

    Heh.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Um, so how do we go about taking up a collection to bail Enty out of a Tijuana jail? Apparently his mom and dad haven't ponied up, or maybe they are locked up with him??

I've got some couch cushion change I can throw in. Maybe we can get him out by the July blind reveals??

    ReplyDelete
  109. Anonymous10:28 AM

    *sigh* no laptop or notebook.

in other news, gosh, i guess poli sci majors/minors are commonplace. hey, sue ellen, i guess you are in good company.

    ReplyDelete
  110. @Mango, I'm in. Too many days of eating lunch at my computer without CDAN.

    ReplyDelete
  111. count me in as well. This is starting to get painful - no CDAN since Friday?! MacVixen = Sad

    ReplyDelete
  112. "What foreign J-list celebrity has been spending a ridiculous amount of time checking and re-checking a famous gossip blog for the last three days, getting increasingly frustrated? Guess she should just try to find herself a life, or do some of that homework that is piling up - but that is too much hard work for this lazy git!"

    ReplyDelete
  113. @Sue Ellen - agree. I think Layton and the NDP will find themselves incredibly impotent against Harper for the next four years, which will hurt both the Cons and NDP. No better time for a Lib renaissance under a new, hopefully charismatic, leader. We have four years to work it out.

@Others - I might wander over to Lainey. Anyone know if she's still incessantly posting about the royals? So OVER IT.

    ReplyDelete
  114. @RQ -- it's been nonstop fancy dress boredom all fucking day on Lainey. God, who CARES?

    ReplyDelete
  115. "What foreign J-list celebrity..."

    @linnea - my mind BOGGLES at a
J-lister. What do you have do to (or not do) to be J-List? Or does your name just have to start with a "J"?

@RQ, I'm not a Nickelback fan. What's the story on why the singer is douche?

    ReplyDelete
  116. @RQ - neither, European ;)

    ReplyDelete
  117. Hahaha, I just thought that J-list could mean "Just friends/family".

    ReplyDelete
  118. Charlie Sheen brings his wizardry to tornado ravaged areas. susggests a celeb baseball game and his twitter followers to cure the problem:

    video here:
    http://www.myfoxal.com/story/14554142/charlie-sheen-visits-alabama-storm-damage-sites

    haven't we been thru enough?

    ReplyDelete
  119. Another sad Canadian here. I did NOT think there would be a majority government, but I also didn't think we'd get rid of Harper the Horrible. I am excited about NDP, but I do think they got as many seats as they did because of Liberals strategy voting.

But as much as we've been rallying to get people to vote against Harper, the Conservatives have been doing the same to make sure the government stays blue. They were more successful, I guess.

I think we have 4 frustrating years ahead of us.

    ReplyDelete
  120. @ea17

    It's not just a major or a minor, it's a specialist.

    /nose in the air. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  121. The way this conversation has evolved is hilarious. Well not hilarious, but certainly funny.

    ReplyDelete
  122. @Mango - for all the reasons you don't like Nickelback ;) The lead singer is the douche cliche for front men of completely unoriginal bands. History of trashing hotel rooms here, pulling "do you know who I am" crap, driving drunk, you name it. And did I mention he's the front man of Nickelback? Ew.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Anonymous11:50 AM

Ida Blankenship, did you change your poster name from Amoteafloat?

    ReplyDelete
  124. @Amy -- I was born in a barn, and now I'm an astronaut.

    ReplyDelete
  125. @RQ- Thank you. Didn't know much about him/them, but I do like that Santana collab he/they did.

@amy's: I had wondered the same thing. Amote had been frickin' camped out here at CDAN and then *poof* she was gone.

So I guess that means yes?

    ReplyDelete
  126. Has anyone checked facebook for updates?

I appreciate Enty for telling us he was going away, but now I'm in withdrawl too.

I can't wait to hear his commentary on Andy Dick getting arrested at a Marie Calendar's restaurant bathroom for being drunk and disorderly. He supposedly was doing lines of coke and engaging in sexual behavior with a woman in a stall. This is a family restaurant chain, a place you go to get your Thanksgiving/Holiday pies. Not some Hollywood club. Can you imagine?

Mango, I take that as a yes also. The poster Nightmare Child reminds me of the poster Ror (who wrote some disturbing shit here).

  131. I am getting ready to have to enter a detox facility for CDAN Withdrawal....Ugh. Enty's FB said he would post today. : ( So much stuff has happened...January, Bin Laden, Met Gala, etc.

    ReplyDelete
  132. What bluebonnetmom said.

SO MUCH HAS HAPPENED. Enty, where are you?!?!?

    ReplyDelete
  133. Ok, now you are just fricking drunk AND high in Amsterdam!

Oh, I thought you might be sleeping with Queen Elizabeth, now I know.........

    ReplyDelete
  134. Enty said he was going to be back last night with a Full Blog today on one of his FB postings.

    Where's it at.

    ReplyDelete
  135. @Rocket and Mango - you do know how Nickelback got it's name? Chad used to work at Starbucks and every drink there was like $2.95, $3.95 and so on. He'd ask people all freakin' day long if they wanted their nickel back. LoL. True story. This is probably well known but I only heard it recently.

Another topic - Does it look like my current object of Lust Frieda Pinto has had work done on her face?

  136. @JasonBlueEyes - ha! I actually didn't know that, despite belonging to several Nickelback-hate related groups.

Frieda looks the same to me, albeit with a crooked mouth?

  137. The Betty Ford Clinic is opening a wing for those of us who can no longer go on without CDAN.

I'm packing a flask, 20 pairs of shoes, big sunglasses and floppy hat.... it might reach 100 so bring your bathing suits too.

    ReplyDelete
  138. @ Califblondy: count me in. My shampoo/conditioner bottles? VODKA.

Arggh, I will be back at work tomorrow and no more posting. I have to hand it to you folks who can post while at work. The CDAN site isn't verboten but man, I am just too busy to read/post here! I would love to know how you all do it.

    ReplyDelete
  139. I'll be there too Mango and Califblondy. Between the computer being in the shop on and off the last month and Enty's prolonged absence I'm in serious trouble.

  141. Add me to the list of those going into withdrawals from CDAN! Pretty soon I'm going to have to go to that blogger who can't be named. I must be jonesing!

  142. Liz! *slaps you in the face*

    Listen to me.

DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT go there.

You are stronger than that. You are better than that.

    We are here for you

  143. I Think Enty is getting tired of posting

    ReplyDelete
  144. I don't care if ENTY comes back for just one day. But I've been looking at Tila Tequila and baldy here since Wednesday. That photo HAS TO GO!

    ReplyDelete
  145. Liz - the only thing you're going to see on that other guys site is posts every 5 minutes about how awesome Lady Gaga and "Glee" is.

Don't do it, woman. Don't subject yourself to that.

    ReplyDelete
  146. I did it and now I feel dirty. I only lasted 2 minutes though and decided it wasn't worth it. Holy Pete that site is crap! Enty come back!!!

    ReplyDelete
  147. Liz,
If youre thinking of going to the site that cant be named that Im thinking of, take a deep breath, go to your happy place and try not to cry while I SLAP YOUR FACE!
    WHAT ARE YOU THINKING??

    ReplyDelete
  148. It wouldn't have been that hard to have posted a date range when he might be back and able to post. From his phone.

Unless, of course, he's not a lawyer at all, but a Navy Seal on assignment.

    Just sayin.

    ReplyDelete
  149. Maybe Enty uses CIA secret high tech stuff to find out the goods on the movie stars and all that. On his breaks and lunches.

    ReplyDelete
  150. And to all you Canadian Negative Nellies, I don't want a PM with a personality or charm or who oozes charisma. I certainly don't want a PM who is a media whore like Paris or Lindsay either. I want someone solid who knows what he's doing ESPECIALLY during this economic meltdown we're coming out of. I appreciate Stephen Harper and we're lucky to have him compared to those other boobs.

To all the Canadians, I personally thought none of the leaders were worth my vote. I was still undecided as I walked into the polling booth and took the pencil into my hand.

On the bright side, we have some political certainty and won't have another $300,000,000 election for at minimum four years. And the Cons will have to start behaving because they've been the gov't for too long and I'm sure they all remember 93 (or 94?).

Count me in as another that would love to see Chretien come back. And I'm also a poli-sci major.

    ReplyDelete
  152. Black Cat: you fuckin rock! It takes great balls to post here that you effectively voted/support conservative. I did too. And despite others, ahem, insinuating that I must be a gun-totin moron to have voted conservative, I am a liberal, financially focused Canadian that would like our country to continue to be appealing in the world economy.

The Cons are not Republican! (not that there's anything wrong with that) *This* century conservatives operate from the centre, with daliances to the right the same as Liberals operate from the centre, with daliances to the left. If both are kept in check, all is well.

    Jesus, talk about 'scare mongering'

The conservatives have done a pretty good job imo, when other countries have been crippled. I will give it a chance and see where we stand in 4 years. At that time, I will decide if another leader needs to take charge, but certainly not based on whether the party leader is 'entertaining'and not based on a few esoteric & centralized interests.

I shouldn't be surprised that the same opinionated, territorial posters would show the same arrogance towards political opinions as they do bloody gossip.

    ReplyDelete
  153. Enty, PLEASE come back soon, or at least throw us a crumb. Things are gettin ugly & desperate when we're talking politics. Canadian politics. Need I say more.

We may even let you slide in some Kardashian bullshit & not give you a hard time.

    ReplyDelete
  154. Yes Enty, stop playing hard to get.
I will be forced to invite Michael Moore over here, he LOVES talking Canadian politics LOL

    ReplyDelete
  155. @mygeorgie

You must have mind reading powers because most of the stuff you said was never mentioned at all. Weird.

Good for you and black cat picking the right pony. I gave the Greens a vote cause I didn't care for how EM was left out. In all honesty I could care less about voting and all that jazz, I just do it because it's my civic duty. Hopefully when I'm finished school I can get a job where I take an oath to be bipartisan and never have to vote again!

On a final note I think it's sad that you think so lowly about our politics that you see it as a lame topic of conversation. I had a great time.

    ReplyDelete
  156. @Middle-aged Diva - yep, that's what I was thinking.

    ReplyDelete
  157. i think he was conducting and experiment. 'What happens when cdan-ers are left to their own devices on an open ended comment thread?' a very interesting outcome, if i do say so myself!

  158. hmmm...Anyone with access to Enty's Facebook, and has Enty posted anything?

    ReplyDelete
  159. @Rita

Not since Monday. He said he was back and there would be a full blog Tuesday

    ReplyDelete
  160. @Rita. I just checked his FB page. Nothing there. :(

    Hope he's ok!

    ReplyDelete
  161. I think the blog is coming to an end, sadly. Maybe enty finally burned out?

    ReplyDelete
  162. Sue Ellen - Of course none of that was said. Typical mygeorgie. Thanks to the Canadians, Americans, Aussies, Europeans and everyone else who DID humor our political talk ;) And yes, where is Enty??

On another note..um...what jobs in Canada are bipartisan? lol Last I checked we had THREE major parties and even if you work for a union which is strongly NDP, you can vote for whoever you like. No, but seriously, what orgs are so strongly geared to one party that you don't even have to vote?

    ReplyDelete
  163. Yeah, I was thinking the same thing: Enty has had it, and is shutting down. Jax usually knows something. Has she been heard from lately?

    ReplyDelete
  164. Part of the permanent bureaucracy, I would suppose. I have a friend who works at Queens Park, but not for a party, and she had to take this oath of bipartisanship. I swear, it was one of the most lovely things I have ever heard of, and I can't get it out of my mind. I don't want to officially join a party, even though I'm pretty much a Liberal, because I can appreciate certain aspects of all the parties and their platforms, and would hate to be locked in like that, or cross the floor on my party one day. Too bad I don't live in Quebec, I could have been an MP right now. ;))

    ReplyDelete
  165. Huh. That sounds rather......unconstitutional. I wouldn't get your heart set on a job like that. I've never heard of it before in my life in this country. And it would seem to me if you take the oath, you would still have to vote?

    ReplyDelete
  166. Another lunch without CDAN. I can't keep eating lunch by myself.

Has a support group formed yet? I'll bring snacks.

    ReplyDelete
  167. I didn't understand it either, but from what she told me she's not *allowed* to vote because her loyalty is to the GG (or the Queen someone like that), and not to the political parties that change semi0frequently. I don't have my heart set on it per se, but it's nice to dream. Personally, working for the government is a dream because it is so hard to get in to, and I see why. I highly doubt I am the only person to realise what a sweet gig that would be.

    ReplyDelete
  168. I forgot to mention that when she took this oath to be bipartisan, she had her hand on the Bible. It almost blew my mind.

    ReplyDelete
  169. Ah, sounds more like like she's sworn allegiance to the QUEEN, not either party, and therefore isn't allowed to vote for anyone....much as the Queen has to stay objective about whichever party is in power. That makes more sense. So less bipartisan, more "unpartisan".

I worked for the government as a co-op student at two levels: welfare (provincially) and immigration (federally). I loved my job at immigration, but the pay is shit and the politics are ridiculous. There is NO pat on the back when you do a good job, and I love that about the private sector. Forget bonuses or office parties unless you're chipping in for it yourself. Provincial was a bit better, the pay is better and so is the morale. Nah, having done both, I'm all about the private sector. A good pension isn't worth the bureaucracy.

    ReplyDelete
  170. Ha. Yeah, more like unpartisan, but I thought it sounded pretty neat to not have to get yourself involved in the political bullshit that happens day-today.

Originally wanted to go to law school and work for the Federal Crown, but since I got engaged I'm thinking I'd rather forgo that and just do my little honours degree, hopefully settle into the government somehow, and have a family. I love the pension aspect of the government, and I also like the fact that they don't really work too late. Some people I know in the private sector are burning the midnight oil, literally. That does not sound fun to me.

The good thing is that I have a year and a half-ish to go, so I don't really have to worry about it...yet.

    ReplyDelete
  171. Ok here's one: Marie Osmond will reportedly remarry her first husband, Stephen Craig, today in Las Vegas. (dyin' to know the backstory THERE!)

    ReplyDelete
  172. That's why I decided not to go into law, despite pressure to do so. My grades were great, but every lawyer I know/knew was working 16 hours a day, and still are. I don't want that. I want a life. A job I'm good at, to be appreciated, and a little time alone in my office to hit up my fave gossip blogs. I do a lot of volunteering and advocating for my personal causes, and that would have been tough in gov't or as a lawyer.

    ReplyDelete
  173. What you said sounds great. That's all I want. I don't want to look back on my life and realise that I worked 16 hours a day for 30 years. I'd rather look back and see a life well lived and loved. A couple of my high school friends are corporate lawyers and they have nothing to show for their lives but money and the nice things that money affords. Whoopdy doodle. They're not especially happy.

I donate money to causes, but you'd never catch me going door-to-door, or something of the like, for a cause. I guess I've never really believed in a cause enough to do so. Sorry, I'm just thinking aloud.

I've really enjoyed talking with you about politics and life. You're a good egg, lady. :)

Sue Ellen, what department does your friend work for? I work for the fed gov't and I've worked for the House of Commons. You can vote for whoever you want to, you just can't bring it to work. There are some rules in place if you want to volunteer for a party or a candidate but they are all fair and none say you can't vote. I find that really hard to believe that she had to swear not to vote.

I watched the election results for two reasons, one to see the results and how they'd affect me personally and the other to see how my day at work would be on Tuesday.
