Survivor - ****There Are Spoilers*** Close Your Eyes Too Because There Is A Picture***

On his 342nd attempt at reality show fame, Boston Rob finally won Survivor. Rob Mariano has been on Survivor more than Jeff Probst and, along with his wife, seems like he has been on every CBS reality show possible. Probably always getting a hard time from his wife because she won Survivor, Rob finally was able to win the show on Sunday night and hopefully will never return again. It is not that I don't like the guy, and I really like his wife too, it just seems to me that CBS is turning its Amazing race and Survivor franchises into something akin to those Real World/Road Rules battles and just recycling everyone with their contests. Basically everyone just makes a living appearing on the battles and there are some CBS reality contestants who are doing the same thing.

  1. Boston Rob is about the only contestant on a reality show that I can't get enough of. He's so likeable, and deserved every penny of the $1M grand prize. He dominated this season. I'm not crazy about Ambuh (who always seemed dull as dishwater to me), but Rob seems to like his women boring and dumb but cute (exhibit 2: Natalie from this season)

  3. I agree Enty, I feel the exact same way about Rob but when I saw him again this season I didn't even bother watching. The outcome was inevitable.

  4. What valerie said. I've watched most of Survivor's seasons, and I've liked Rob from Day 1. What he achieved this season was nothing short of remarkable, and described by the host as a "perfect game". Congrats to him.

  5. Boston Rob played a good game but it sure helped that the people around him were idiots. Ashley, Andrea and Natalie had the chance to form a women's alliance and take control of the game and they didn't.

  6. ^^ Agree, and part of his strategy was in choosing the people who would remain stupidly loyal. Finding an idol and winning four immunity challenges through pure heart and determination didn't hurt. That episode where he couldn't walk or stand after he won? Amazing.

  7. well, i love him. and i appreciate seeing this game played well. that doesn't even describe what he managed to pull off here---this was brilliant.

if he wasn't as good as he is, they would've voted his ass off immediately---first chance they got. so i think he deserves all the credit possible for sticking around, making allies who did every single thing he told them to, winning when he had to, and getting to the end. i bow to the master---boston rob.

  8. He played the perfect game. When Amber won it was thanks to Rob not because of anything she actually did. I'm happy for him for winning the $1 million as well as the fan vote for $100,000. I hope he slipped Matty at least twenty bucks. Poor kid.

With that said, Rob needs to retire and these shows should stop reheating leftover contestants. (I'm talking to you Bachelor/Bachelorette).

  9. Ditto Black Cat. I saw that he was on this season and didn't bother to watch.

The Real World/Road Rules challenge mess is a good analogy and I hope they put a stop to it asap. Enough with bringing back people from past seasons.

  10. I wanted Mike, henceforth referred to as Ken Doll, to win as the last of the Zapateras, but as soon as he was out, I was for Rob. Rob might not be a as nice as the Ken Doll, but he played the game unless the rest of his team. It was a pathetic cast of dolts.

Also, did anyone else watched the results show and laugh at Grant? Dude looked like he was straight off the farm circa 1864.

  11. I am not a fan of the show but have seen a few episodes this season and Rob totally played the game and the people well. One guy handed him a clue! For no reason other than Rob said 'hand to me'---the guy hadn't even opened it! I don't know if he's a jerk but he deserved to win.

  12. America's Next Top Model is having former contestants back for the Fall season. For the most part, all the crazy bitches are back (minus Jade).

  13. I don't understand how ANTM can do an all-star show. Aren't alot of the models past their prime?

  14. ANTM has always been a lot more about drama than about actual modeling. The cast they have is almost perfect except for the lack of Jade. They really should've offered her more money - she would've been worth it for the viewers she would've brought in.

  15. I saw him last night, Treesap, and wondered WTH? Grant should have kept the dreads. His animosity towards Rob was hilarious. Hasn't he ever watched the show before? It's a game to win a million bucks and Rob played to win.

  16. Reality shows can go away any time now. Take auto tune with you too!

  17. He did play the perfect game, and it was a hard time to do it too.

  18. As long as he and his wife stay the hell away from my beloved Amazing Race, I don't care what happens to him anywhere else. Dude is an enormous asshole.

  19. I love Boston Rob! I am thrilled for him, and even though yah, he won on a season of idiots, still... he dedicated almost 10 years of his life to this. It was so touching to see him win it. I will actually be sorry not to have him on my TV anymore, although I agree with his statement that it's time to stop playing games and stay home with his wife and kids.

Honestly, if I was in his position, I would have gone back 4 times too! I would love that opportunity, and I too would have to keep trying until I won. And given the opportunity to ALSO be on the Amazing Race, twice?! Count me in! I would love his life!
