I'm pretty convinced that these are only enthralling to the parents of the youtubed children -- though I know they've all got tons of hits, so someone out there is cooing over them or whatever.
I don't go out of my way for baby videos, but if one's right in front of me, I totally love them. I love chubby laughing baby videos. I swear sometimes I can hear my uterus give a sigh of longing so I have to tell it to shut up because I'm not ready to quit my boozing, pot smoking, self-centered ways.
As a child-free person, I also find animal videos MUCH funnier and more interesting, with one exception -- that kid Embry who goes crazy in his carseat when his mom plays "Dog Days Are Over" on the stereo. Hilarious!
I normally don't care about baby videos, but the "interest" level on these is higher than the average person who thinks their baby is the cutest/smartest/etc. thing ever....because twins really really interest me. That sneeze - like...wtf?
But yeah, I will search out and post cute animal videos on my profile ALL DAY LONG.
David at Dentist still cracks me up. After seeing my sisters (identical twins) grow up, not much surprises me about their communication and movements. They always slept in the exact same way, and moved their arms and legs in sync while they were sleeping. But youtube wasnt around then...
I swear the "talking" twins were discussing socks and one kept telling the other he was missing one and then a lot of "talk to the hand" type action going on. ADORABLE. I like animal videos too but babies amuse me too. SCREAMING ones at the store belonging to other people not so much!
I thought what was interesting about the first is that when the baby shows his brother his sock-less right foot, the brother also picks up HIS RIGHT foot.
I would have expected him to 'mirror' his brother at that stage and lift the foot that was on the same side.
Anyone understand me? Seems interesting if a baby understands his 'same foot' is on the opposite side of the person he's facing.
Ida and Treesap, glad I could help you find the little ray of sunshine that is Embry! Him rocking out when the song speeds up again cracks me up every time!
Re: animal videos, I love the guilty golden retriver Denver who ate the cat treats, the tattletale poodles (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L9R-Wrpd8w8), and the angriest cat in the world, Burger and Fries. My favorite, however, is of course the sneezing panda baby.
Hi animial lovers, have you seen Tucker the singing, piano playing schnoodle on you tube? Amazing dog!
I've seen that first twin video half a dozen times and I have to admit I watched it again. They're adorable. I'm a sucker for giggling babies...it almost makes me want another. Ok, not really.
Those diaper-butt babies have already invented their own twin language. Weird.
ReplyDeleteThese make me happy. Twins have always fascinated me.

ReplyDeleteKitten videos are better. ;-)
I was just coming here to say the exact same thing, Ida. I'd rather watch a cute animal video any day over babies.
ReplyDeleteThose chatty twins crack me up!
ReplyDeleteDid anybody watch the Michael Chiklis/Patton Oswalt version?

ReplyDelete*would give anything for little cuties like those*

ReplyDeleteFor Ida and Mooshki, I am not normally interested in kitten or baby videos but the first one is really interesting.
ReplyDeleteAt first I thought they were just making noise but the longer I watched it started to look like they were actually talking.

Okay. I just watched Embry rocking out to "Dog Days are Over," and it *was* pretty adorable. I have the SAME reaction whenever I hear that song.
ReplyDeleteI'm just glad the kid didn't combust into a plume of smoke. :-)
And I will forever love David at the Dentist. Always.
@Texshan, that was really, really adorable.
ReplyDeleteI thought this was going to be something earth shattering and instead, I find soccer mom fodder.
ReplyDeleteI demand satisfaction, Enty. I will have satisfaction.

I had to turn the first one off because the noise was driving my dog crazy. The second & third were cute.
