Today's Blind Items #1

This primarily television actress was probably up to a B a few years ago, but has since dropped down to C. This happens when you disappear from the public eye. Never really catching on, she has a new series starting in the fall, but producers are thinking of replacing her as the star with someone more publicity friendly. The reason? The show is so difficult to get into they need someone who will come make people watch for a few weeks.

  1. The woman from Will and Grace who is in that new musical thingy.

    Helpful aren't I?! lol

  2. I'm guessing Sarah Michelle Gellar and that new CW show she's starring in........... I heard the premise, and it definitely doesn't sound like your typical CW fare, which might be why they think no one will watch?

  3. @AJ - I think you mean Megan Mullaley?

But I think the Sarah Michelle guess is a little more to the point. She never does anything.

  4. Ashley Judd is also in the fall line-up with Sean Bean in the same show.

  5. Christina Applegate? Hope not - I really like her.

  7. I like the SMG guess. The plotline for her new show sounds a little convoluted, too.

She's done a bunch of movies, though, and not all of them tanked.

  8. MISCH - wuh HUHHH??? Poor Sean Bean. First I had to watch him get beheaded, now this.

If the show is really hard to get into, chances are it's going to tank anyway.

Guessing this is not AMC since they don't seem to give a fruck about star power, and their shows work anyway.

  9. Jennifer Morrison?

Her pilot looks good, but definitely isn't straightforward and could be considered confusing.

  10. @AJ and Snarky, I think it's Debra Messing. She's doing the musical.

  11. I knew I shouldn't read up on blogs until I was fully caught up. I am behind on Game of Thrones. Sigh. Now I know too much. Darn you Shakey. : ) I have been trying to avoid all blogs in regards to this show. (kicks sand)

  12. Oh and I am on board with Mischa Barton, I think there are a lot of loyal Buffy fans out there that have missed SMG and will watch her show.

  13. I'm with the Morrison/Prepon guesses...mostly Prepon because I don't find her watchable at all. And the fact that she's playing Chelsea Handler assures that I will NOT be tuning in.

  14. Exactly, RocketQueen. ;-) I think that new Chelsea Handler sitcom is going to be extremely grating. Laura's been in a few movies, but she's known much more for That 70's Show than anything else. She's been mostly off the radar since that show ended, too. Everything fits!

  15. I think SMG used to be an A list TV actress. I remember when she had a cameo in She's All That...and the audience went wild, because she was so popular back then.

Rachel Bilson almost hit a B...but dropped to a C. I don't know if she intentionally dropped from the public eye, but she's a decent guess.

  16. Sounds like Debra Messing to me.

  17. @RocketQueen: I too agree with the Jennifer Morrison/Laura Prepon guesses. I wouldn't tune into anything for either of these two.

  18. The producers should have figured this out before announcing the casting.

Sure, it won't be their fault if the show tanks. It'll be the casts fault.

  19. Laura Prepon has a new show? God, I'd rather watch a turnip than her.... turnips have more personality and better voices.

  20. Yeah, LMSAM, Laura Prepon is boring as shit. As soon as I heard that she had been cast in that show I was like, "You've GOT to be kidding me." LoL I am not a Chelsea Handler fan, either, so that show will a double whammy of suckage imo.

  21. I'm a Buffy/Angel loyalist myself but she irks me that she refused to do the last season of Angel because she was TIRED of being Buffy and now here she comes full circle BACK to TV. grrr argh!!!!

However, I will watch so hope not SMGP.

And Game of Thrones. Aaauuugh! So good! I can't believe this Sunday is the season Finale! NOOOOOOO!!! It just keeps getting better and better. And I had a feeling THAT was going to happen to Stark but OMG was hoping NOT. It was still shocking. Now if True Blood would hurry the hell up and start again I'd be happy.

  22. Sean Bean was beheaded? I missed that scene in game of thrones....

  23. YES! Sean/Lord Eddard Stark! Right at the very end of last week's episode.

  24. I had to "rewind" the DVR and watch again. WTF moment. You were just WAITING for a rescue. :(

  25. I don't think it is SMG - Buffy was more than a few years ago, and I think she was more than a B when in her hayday. Plus, everything that I've heard is excitement from Buffy fans about SMG's return to tv - seems pretty publicity friendly to me!

  26. What about Lisa Kudrow? I saw that she's doing a new HBO (I think) show...

  27. Haven't watched the miniseries, but if it's following the book(s), then it's not a surprise about Stark's death.

About the blind, no clue. . .

  28. This is said to be Messing.

  29. i hope its not prepon, according to a kindness reveal, shes really nice (i want to say it was the one about the kid lost in the park???)

I want it to be Debra Messing. I cannot stand her.

  30. I think it's Laura Preppon too... she is known for wanting to keep her private life WAY out of the public eye so she would NOT be drumming up any publicity for the show by say, being in the tabs or something.
