I saw this yesterday and busted out laughing. My cats scatter if they even SEE the electric sweeper (I have tile and hardwood, so no vacuum needed). Meanwhile, the chiweenie and the pomeranian try to attack it.
Bahaha! I love kitties. One of mine hops in the bathtub every morning after I get out of the shower and likes to drink from the dripping tap. Every morning. And yes, there is a regular BOWL for her to drink from, but she prefers the tap for some reason. Anyway, on the mornings when I blow dry my hair in the bathroom, she refuses to get in the tub and gives me this look like I am the meanestmommaintheworld for bringing out that nasty dryer and ruining her drinking time.
Oh Lordy! That is hilarious...also kinda mean but nothing we haven't all done. It's just too tempting to eff with the little boogers cuz they get into and on top of every dang thing...
So, so, SO cute. I love seeing kitten stuff so much I can't stand it! (except for that poor old two-faced cat on the news lately *shudders*)
RQ, one of my cats LOVES the hairdryer. It's the weirdest thing I've ever seen. She'll get up on my vanity table and grab at my wrist, trying to redirect the dryer onto her. If I put the air on her for a few seconds, then return to drying my hair, she'll grab for my wrist and actually bite me. She's a weirdo.
RocketQueen - my cat is the opposite - when my husband and I are in the bathroom washing up, she comes in and cries and cries, especially if one of us gets in the shower. I assume she's trying to warn us about the water.
And if there's anyone here who hasn't seen this website:

My cat loves to drink from the tub once I get out, and she loves the hair dryer too. When I blow dry my hair she will stretch out on the rug and roll around for me to use it on her, she loves it.
Omg, that's hilarious. And mean but hilarious. Their lives are so damn easy that they have to be messed with.
My cat freaks out when she sees the Swiffer broom. I don't know why, maybe it's the static or something. She'll watch it from the other side of the room and hiss at it. I've heard other people say the same about their cats.
The metal tap thing is pretty common. I used to have a cat do that. Someone suggested to me that I replace the regular water bowl with a metal bowl but I never noticed a difference. They like what they like.
I used to have a cat that loved mint. She'd pull packs of gum out of my purse and lick them. I'd put on Body Shop's peppermint foot lotion and then put on my socks and she'd come over and lick my socks. That cat was funny, she liked a lot of weird things. She's been gone for five years and I miss her everyday.
The other day one of my cats was sitting across our dyson vacuum cleaner, being very daring. Of course, it was off.
Kittens are so cute. There was a Siamese ktten at the adoption center of Petsmart last week. It had flipped its bed over and was hiding underneath, and would pop out at unsuspecting folks. I'm sure it didn't stay up for adoption long. I would have taken it in heartbeat if I didn't already have five of 'em, lol.
I had a cat that would sit on the sink while my boyfriend shaved and put her paw in the water to drink it. My cats now would also get in the tub after we had a shower and lick the water. Someone said they liked the fresh water and one of the bowls that aerate the water is better for them. Sadly most cats are terrified of the sound it produces. Whoops..We forgot all about THAT part of the design. Like RQ I could hear pet stories all day. They make our lives complete.
My old kitty (the one who loved mint) would also get into your drink. Whatever you had on the table, could be coffee, diet coke, coke, hot chocolate, etc., she'd want. She'd dip her paw in, pull it out, shake it then lick it off her paw and REPEAT! The shake part was the worst because it spattered everywhere.
The kitty I have now is 17 years old and she just got a clean bill of health but she hasn't been eating this past week. We had to give her medication so we put it in Pill Pockets (a treat with a hole in it). That worked for about a week, then she got wise so I'd surround it by treats and she'd eat it. Now she's refusing her treats. She hasn't been eating anything. I broke down and ran to the store and bought a can of tuna for her. She normally throws up like crazy but I just want her to eat. I gave her just a little bit and she devoured it. She wants more but I don't want her to throw up.
So funny. Poor things are like "RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! THE BEAST IS ALIVE!"
My cat and beagle/dachsund HATE the vacuum. Kitty will hide under my bed until I'm done. Pup will not walk anywhere NEAR it, even if it is OFF.
@SusanB - I love that website. I used to regularly convulse into hysterical laughter reading it & my husband would think I was a nutcase b/c he just does not get the humor.

OMG I thought I was the only one who had a cat who loved mint! My Chloey (RIP) loooooved mint, too. Every morning when I brushed my teeth she would rub against the bathroom door until I bent down & breathed on her & let her sniff my mouth. She loved it. SO weird LOL!
ALL of my cats have/ have had a relationship of one sort or another with the washroom. My one boy stays in there the whole time I'm in there, periodically yelling & crying. The other little guy won't come into the washroom DURING the shower, but as soon as it's over he comes in & watches the water drip down the curtain (I have a few holes in my curtain because of him - I only use cheap shower liners for curtains now lol) and then he likes to go into the tub & check it out. Almost every day. I figure they must know the washroom is OUR litterbox, & they wanna see what we're doing...LOL
OH, I forgot to mention - Chloey had the same reaction to strawberries as she had to mint. She'd rub all over the carton and just look sooooo...stoned & happy...LOL
anita_mark, if you have access to a pharmacist who compounds prescriptions, [s]he and your vet may be able to come up with something that your cat will take more readily. I've frequently had to use the liquid versions of prescriptions, and favorite flavors can also be added. Can't tell you how many times i've lovingly cooked delicate chicken and rice creations for my babies while i noshed on PB&J.
Thanks Elspeth. Unfortunately it's kidney failure. The vet said it's bad but we can treat her for a bit which is what we want to do. They'll teach us how to give her... some sort of water under the skin or something like that (sorry, I'm not good at medical anything and I was kind of freaked). We'll keep her for as long as we can but we asked the vet to be honest with us when it's time to make a decision. We want to do what's best for her, not what's best for us.
I don't want to be sad. She gave us 17 wonderful years, now we're just going to enjoy every second that we can with her.
There was a kitten at the vet which was such a treat so see. And they were boarding a beautiful Himalayan who had just been groomed so his body was like microsuede but his head was a puff ball, he looked like he was wearing mukluks and he had a pompom at the tip of his tail. Hilarious and cute.
anita_mark, I'm so sorry about your kitty, but i'm also very glad that you've talked to your vet about doing what's best for her. They give us so much seemingly without giving a thought. I wish it could be easier for us to give them the best care they deserve. (((Hugs))) to you both.
Anita hon, I am so sorry. We lost our kitty who was 16 this last spring, and my heart is still absoulty broken.
But on a good and healing note, something caught my eye in my tree yesterday and it was a baby black kitten. Hubby had to reach her, and when he handed her to me, he said "ahh hell.. we have now have a cat" LOL
We haven't named baby girl yet, but we are all smitten to bits with her.
OHMYGAWWWWWWWWD! so mean!
ReplyDelete*hangs head in shame cuz I am giggling and snorting*

ReplyDeleteI've asked for a Roomba for Christmas. I can guarantee that it will cause at least one heart palpitation in my pet population.
ReplyDeleteYup, thats about right. At this moment my dog is talking to her felt fish, and the felt fish is winning.

SusanB, my dog whines whenever I'm in the bathroom. It never occurred to me that she might be concerned about my drowning. :)

Haha! These are awesome. I could listen to people tell cat stories all day. Yes, I might need help.
