A New Use For Humanitarian Awards

The man above is a doctor. Wait, let me take that back. He is a doctor, but does not practice because he lost his license for doing coke a few years ago. Somehow though, this did not stop the doctor from receiving a very prestigious humanitarian award in Houston last year.

The doctor is on trial right now in Houston facing charges of domestic violence. Oh, the woman above is his fourth wife and the victim. This is not the first time the doctor has beaten a wife. He was convicted of beating his third wife back in 2002. Do these humanitarian people do background checks? Apparently the couple got into a huge fight shortly after the photo above was taken. During the fight, dishes were breaking and shelves were being smashed and the doctor picked up his humanitarian award and threw it at his wife before being tackled by the family bodyguard.

Yep, they have a bodyguard. Apparently the doctor has a bunch of clinics around the US which specialize in hand injuries, so he is rich. Not attractive, but rich. Oh and a coke user and a wife beater, but he is your Joanne Herring 2010 Humanitarian Of The Year.

  1. So the wife is NOT from Texas?? None of his wives were from Texas? Because my understanding was that we don't react the way she did to domestic violence. I thought there was supposed to be something like a hunting accident. Or maybe a gun cleaning gone wrong incident. Help me out here...... Have I been doing the wrong thing?!?!?!?! Seemed to work.

  5. omg - my family is in Houston and they've heard about this guy - he started the Hand Brown Center. He's an ass of epic proportions - or at least that's his reputation.

  9. nancer-YES! Sophie- "Daddy's little girl." Not sure how he got this award since everyone in Houston knows he's a dbag. Those commercials are awful, too. Please don't let this reflect poorly on my home......

  10. His clinic has been accused of overcharging patients for simple procedures, especially if they are on worker's comp or other types of assistance. How he got a humanitarian award is beyond me.

  11. Why would anyone honor him with a humanitarian award???

  12. After all the awards Michael Vick has received post-prison for his ~sportsmanship~, NOTHING shocks me anymore.

It kinda seems to me as it accolades can now basically be bought.

  13. Those commercial's gross me out. As evergrey said, he is an asshole of epic proportions, but a very rich asshole so people tend to forget his indiscretions.

  14. @Hayley Everyone in Dallas knows he's a dbag too. I really can't stand those commercials

  18. * Brown Hand Center. It's pretty well known around Houston what this guy is like. We all couldn't believe a few years ago when he did a commercial with this wife and kids. I think my moms exact words were "is that the wife he beat in the commercial?"

  19. He's beyond a douche, more like a psycho. He beat one of his previous wives when she was pregnant, has tons of weapons, has tried to cut of his fingers and commit suicide a couple of times, and was detained in dubai for trying to bring in sex paraphernalia.

  20. Agreed with Ida regarding Vick's awards, both before and after his conviction.

Maybe its my present mood from reading The Communist Manifesto by Marx but Im increasingly growing disillusioned with the way our entire social structure is run and whom we place value and admiration upon.

It seems like every award can be bought and every one I hear about does shit a Jersey Shore cast member wouldnt do and still gets recognition and awards for doing their 'craft'.

btw, the Brown Hand Center is a stupid name. moron.

  21. Geeez I hate this guy (and those commercials)

Here's a news link with that stupid commercial: "Daddy's Baby Girl".

    Ass*ole.

  22. Maybe he bought the award behind closed doors. That must happen, right?

    ReplyDelete
  23. ^He had to...right??

I'd say throwing your humanitarian award at someone should get it automatically revoked. It's just ironical. ;)
