Sex Helps You Live Longer - Russell Brand To Live To 150

Dr. Oz was interviewed for Shape Magazine. While not addressing the fact they airbrush their covers more than any other magazine in the history of the world and how crappy all that airbrushing makes normal people feel, Dr. Oz instead talked about sex. He also talked about how and he and his wife have lots of sex and the reason he has been married to his wife for 26 years is because they have lots of sex. He then went on to talk more about sex and you get the feeling after awhile that he is having sex 8 times a day with his wife while he calls Will and Jada Smith to see what number they are up to for the day. It turns out though that Dr. Oz just has sex twice a week. Apparently that is a lot. He also said that if you have sex twice a week you live three years longer. Of course you probably will not be having sex those three years so what is really the point. And if twice a week gets you three extra years, how many years does 10 times a week get you? Are all these old people living to 115 having sex 10 times a day when they were younger? Well, at this point I am not going to get that three year bonus. Not unless of course you can find someone who has a thing for guys who sleep on futons and wear eau de bacon'.

How many times a week do you think most couples have sex? Is twice a week a lot?

Well, looks like I'm headed for an early grave. Oh well.

And no, I don't think twice a week is a lot.

I think twice a week is a lot for a couple that has been together for that long! I say good for them!

I don't think twice a week is a lot and I don't think that Will and Jada are having sex with each other.

What is it with people wanting to live forever?

Twice a week doesn't seem like a lot to me; however, I do agree with Maja that it is a lot after 26 years. When you have independent careers, children, outside activities, etc., I'm sure it's hard to find that quality time for one another.

@Maja - absolutely agree that it is quite surprising that after 26 years this couple is still having sex twice a week. Some couples just get into the train of things and taking care of their family, that they forget their time together as lovers. Good for them!

As for adding years to ones life, do the first months of a relationship count? For really, the honeymoon phase is synonymous with rabbit rigor. Meaning am gonna live forever:)

Count me in as another skeptic that believes if you have to talk about it this much, you're really not having it at all. Wasn't there a blind about him being in the closet?

Avg of four times a week for us and we're considered "old" by most standards.

I think it is great if you can still have sex after 26 years of marriage. Some men no longer can without help in their fourties and fifties. And menopause can put a damper on things for a woman from what I am told. Let's get real Dr. Oz.

Ewwww. Imagine his O face! :-P *horks*

I think the frequency of sexytime in a relationship must depend on the couple and their particular circumstances. People with small children probably don't knock boots nearly as often as people who are in that honeymoon phase of a relationship, obviously. Ditto couples who each work and are totally exhausted at the end of the day. I think it's totally normal to go through spells of constant boinking and vice versa.

I don't think twice a week is a lot. Right now it would seem like a lot to me because I'm not getting that much, but in my heyday, I didn't think two or three times a day was too much.

I love sex.

@Syko - That's why the tired pussy on your profile?

Bwaaahahha - Rita, that was funny. I usually don't like crude, but you nailed that one! Bravo!

As for twice a week ... in college, w/ the college boyfriend, or in the beginning of meeting my husband, I would have been horrified to only get some lovin' 2x/wk. 15+ years and little kids later, 2x/wk ... ai - maybe on a good week... (a very good week ... sigh.)

My husband would be very excited to get sex twice a week. Hell he would be excited for twice a month at this point. Yah - there are some issues that we're working on.

Speaking of which, Dr. Oz's wife's arm could have used a little airbrushing...

if the sex is good; 2 x a week is not enough. if the sex is bad or boring; sex 2 times a week seems like to much. so i suppose it depends.....
i think as a rule, married couples have sex less and less as time goes by. but for the lucky maybe -10%, i think they have as much as they can fit in w/ their schedules. so when kids are little less than when kids are older. there's something about sex being harder to arrange that makes it more interesting. when i got married i remember thinking we'd be having sex ALL THE TIME. but when your partner is always available it seems it makes it less exciting/interesting.

I'm with Syko- I love sex!

Twice a week does not seem like much, but it's better than nothing I suppose!

And I don't know what it is about being pregnant, but I think I've had more sex these past four months than before I was. My husband jokes that I crave sex more than ice cream, pickles, and all that other junk preggos enjoy, haha. Am I weird or do other ladies go through this as well? :)

Twice a week is not a lot. I like it daily. I don't care about living forever. I just like it and spent many years celebate. I'm making up for lost time.

If you have to talk about sex so much, you're probably not having it or you got issues.

CT said...

@0 I'm pregnant too, and I went INSANE during my second trimester for sex. INSANE.

But now in my third trimester, it's become really uncomfortable, and due to my new largess I'm having trouble finishing. So less now.

But for three months, I was insatiable!

RocketQueen said...

@0 and CT - not me! I'm almost six months and the first trimester I barely wanted to be looked at. It's picked up a little in the second, but generally, it's a bit painful now.

Married 28 years, more than twice a week, consistently. However, Dr. Oz was a surgeon, and they have crazy schedules. One of my siblings is a surgeon and when visiting, I would see that sibling come home literally grey with fatigue, didn't eat, went straight to bed. So, I suspect that played a factor in Dr. Oz's marriage.
