Ted C Blind Item

I live for a gal who's survived in the movies—shown she has what it takes to star in many of them, some even successful—and then totally reinvents herself afterwards.

That's right, for a second career as a TV star! Of course, where else is there for movie chicks who age, but, that's beside the point.

Which is that Barbie Sinatra started reinventing herself long before she dipped into TV fare by...

Totally changing her appearance. We mean totally.

Whereas many folks guessed about Barbie's nips here and tucks there, we're here to tell you it was all due to nose-candy, baby!

That's right, Barbie, who got famous with an entirely different figure than the one she possesses now, decided she wanted what the rest of the chicas had in Hollywood, i.e., lots more acting opportunities. And Barbie's more natural appearance she got famous with just wasn't cutting it enough.

The drugged-out Pygmalion stuff worked pretty well for awhile, too.

But, just like all addictions, Barbie's coke habit eventually got the better of her and that primo TV gig she landed as a result of her new-found frame is about to be cancelled—not in the least because Barbie's coke-fuelled scenes of over-acting. I mean, Barb gives new meaning to the term scenery-chewing, as she also eats her costars alive, too, hysterical stuff!

Only it's not a comedy she's starring in, dearies!

And It Ain't: Teri Hatcher, Eva Longoria, Jessica Lange

  1. That chick from Dirty Dancing, Baby, with the nose job that ruined her career?

  2. Madeline Stowe - currently in Revenge. I'm watching, but I think I'm the only one so it's sure to be cancelled.

I don't like this blind. Thank God it's not Jessica Lange whose awesome on American Horror Story.

  4. My guilty pleasure is Revenge and it just got picked up for a full season. Woo whoo. Definitely liking the Christina Ricci guess.

  5. Revenge is my only appointment TV so far this season. It's popular, well reviewed, and its not going anywhere. Unlike Ringer, which I think is dying.

  6. I'm hooked on Revenge and hope it's not going anywhere! My guilty pleasure of the season.

  7. Hmmm, Christina Ricci looks pretty much the same as she always did and she's not old enough, so I dont think this is her.

I can see this being Madeline Stowe, but her character is so central to the entire plot of Revenge, I can't see her getting fired just yet. She seems to fit the age range and career description though.

I don't pay enough attention to the dramatic series on cable channels, could it be someone from Sons of Anarchy or something like that?

    ReplyDelete
  8. How did Christina Ricci reinvent her appearance? She looks exactly the same as she did as a child.

  9. Hmm, I like the Ricci guess but she's been slim as HELL for years now...remember Black Snake Moan? I remember her basically admitting she had an eating disorder years ago as well, saying she would work out until she couldn't see any of her stomach sticking out...only then would she let herself get off the treadmill.

  10. Christina Ricci was my first thought, only because overacting and amped up is exactly how I would describe her performance. I think she is the worst on the show.

On another note, I love Revenge. It's my favorite show and several friends of mine like it too. I think it has pretty good reviews, so I don't think this blind is related.

  11. Look at Ricci in Buffalo '66, and look at her now.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Love the christina ricci guess. especially because of how a big piece of the Pam Am thing was that the ladies had to meet a weigh requirement. makes sense they'd want a teeny tiny little actress.

The Pygmalion thing fits with how she's done some gritty roles, nudity included and now is all spiffed up. I'd def believe this were her.

Jennifer Grey doesn't the fact that she's had a nose job one bit so there's no nips/tucks to guess about there. nor does she have a tv spot.

i'm unfamiliar with revenge so i'm not counting out madeleine stowe yet.

  13. RQ - Black Snake Moan was disturbing as hell. And I don't think Christina has changed at all. Especially in the face. Even if her show will probably be getting cancelled soon.

What about Maria Bello? She seems more in the age range as the "And it Aint" ladies. Christina Ricci seems too young.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Mama Mia - LOVE your guess. But what has Bello done to her face? I love her show, Prime Suspect, and love thoughness, but in one of the scenes she's not wearing make-up and her face looks wrinkled. Had she done anything to her face previously?

    ReplyDelete
  16. I agree that Christina Ricci seems too young. For some reason I want to say Dana Delaney, but she's far too open about her healthy choices in food and exercise, and hasn't she always been TV?

I'm thinking, with the "Sinatra" name, it could even be someone in their 60s (a la "These Boots..." era), or someone related to the music industry or even musicals. Or am I just digging too deep?

:goes off to ponder instead of work: Friday, y'all! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  17. I agree with Kelley - it's got to be someone in that age/era. Still thinking...

    ReplyDelete
  18. I like the Christina Rocco guess. I didn't recognize her in the show, and that show is godawful. Add me to theist of people who cant get enough of Revenge. Looks like it could be the Dynasty of the 10s, or another twin peaks -- or an incredible mix of the two

  19. I'm not 100% sold.... but I don't see where he says the actress is old? He just says she has aged and compared to when Ricci started as a child she has.

I don't think the AIAs have anything to do with age. Ricci was in Prozac Nation with Jessica Lange and Pan Am is supposed to take Desperate Housewives time slot when it goes off the air. Eva Longoria is only 5 years older than Ricci so to stretch from Eva to Jessica Lange I don't see where there is any indication to age at all.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Yeah, the more I think about it, this isn't Ricci. She's not old enough to be the answer to the BI - look at the clues and the "AIAs".

    ReplyDelete
  21. Hate to say this because I love the show but how about Natasha Henstridge from "The Secret Circle?" She does tend to overact, but I thought the series was in pretty good shape.

    ReplyDelete
  22. not Henstridge, secret circle was picked up for the year

    ReplyDelete
  23. He says movie chicks who age, so it has to be late 40's and on....
Revenge has been picked up, YAHOO, and Madeline Stowe has had work but she still looks like herself...so I'm lost.

    ReplyDelete
  24. claire danes, christina ricci, maria bello (her nose looks more streamlined and show has the WORST RATINGS), madeleine stowe - Revenge is picked up for the full season.
that's all i got, unless kathy bates lost a ton of weight somehow

    ReplyDelete
  25. The way I'm reading it, she's had some fame on television, so I'm not so sure it's a new show.

    That said, I got nothing.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Beguessin, please it ain't so about Mario Bello's show! I'm hooked. The first episode was a bit wobbly, but by the second, I was all for girl power in a male-dominated environment, which the show is actually all about.

    ReplyDelete
  27. prime suspect is the only procedural I'm watching this year, but it doesn't look good for the future:

    http://insidetv.ew.com/2011/10/20/death-watch-2011-fall-tv-cancelled-canceled-shows/2/

    ReplyDelete
  28. Ricci was my first thought too. Put me on the Revenge train along with my friends! We Love it! Prime Suspect didn't love, so could be Maria, but I don't think she's ever been chunky.

    ReplyDelete
  29. nooooooo! Women need to watch Prime Suspect: it's all about the a-hole at the work place, who no matter what you go through as a woman to prove your worth at your job, he's still an a-hole to you, all the time. And how the boss, always puts the boys first, even when obviously making an injustice towards a deserving female in his team!

Watch it people, I want this show to go on: unjust for Kardashians to keep on filming, but quality shows are disappearing fast.

    ReplyDelete
  30. How bout Meg Ryan. She is coming out with a new TV show and she has totally fucked up her face.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Okay I'm terrible at these so please forgive if it's a bad guess, but whenever I think of major plastic surgery-I think of Mary McCormack on In Plain Sight. She was beautiful in Howard Stern's movie, and now she is almost unrecognizable.

    ReplyDelete
  32. "That's right, Barbie, who got famous with an entirely different FIGURE than the one she possesses now"

Figure is BODY, not face. And cocaine notoriously kills appetite, and many celebs use it to get/stay slim. So this is someone who was bigger (her "more natural appearance") when she got famous for movies than she is now with her TV gig (her "new found frame"). Nothing to do with face.

    ReplyDelete
  33. @Jamee - it also says her nip/tucks were due to nose candy, so she must've at least had a nose job.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I am going to agree with Christina Ricci. Pan Am is not doing well in the ratings. But I kind of like the show but she always seems super hyper. She needs to tone it down.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Maria Bello started in TV, then went to movies. She looks pretty much the same now as when she was in a History of Violence.
And I hope they don't cancel Prime Suspect. It's the only new show I kept watching.

    ReplyDelete
  36. The way this blind is written
"That's right, for a second career as a TV star! Of course, where else is there for movie chicks who age, but, that's beside the point." Christina Ricci has grown up but she hasn't exactly aged out of motion pictures which it seems this actress has gotten to the point where she's too old and Christina Ricci could probably still play high school so I don't think she's aged out of films.

    ReplyDelete
  37. How about Poppy Montgomery from 'Unforgettable'? She lost a lot of weight for that show. And she's from Australia where 'barbies'(barbecues) are almost a part of everyday life...

    ReplyDelete
  38. No Erin - I'm watching Revenge too! I really like these 1 season thrillers, last years island wedding 1 was GREAT!

The only surgery I've heard Christina Ricci having was breast reduction back in 2001. Her face looks the same as it did on Addams Family Values.

Please NOT Maria Bello - I love Prime Suspect! It's almost as good as the british version was with Helen Mirren. Don't write it off yet!!!!!

I don't have a clue on this blind.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I know! I know! Kathy Bates! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Gabrielle Anwar from Burn Notice. Age exactly splits Teri Hatcher and Eva Longoria. Used to be cute, now looks emaciated.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Kate Bosworth looks like a completely different person since her debut in that surf movie, and has a totally different body type now---

    ReplyDelete
  42. "Which is that Barbie Sinatra started reinventing herself long before she dipped into TV fare by...

Totally changing her appearance. We mean totally."

This does *not* describe Christina Ricci in ANY way.

    ReplyDelete
  43. @Someone Said:Yhat's so cool you've seen Buffalo 66!That's one of my favorite films.Hope you liked it.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I like the Gabrielle Anwar guess.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Gabby Anwar has always been skeletal thin ob Burn Notice. It creeps me out. I don't watch that show anymore.

Christina Ricci is a film star moving to TV. Don't know about the changes in weight, but she overacts on that show BIG time.

And I am sooo happy so many ladies here love Revenge!! It's an addictive show! And Madeline Stowe is so good I want to slap her haughty face every time she's on screen. lol

    ReplyDelete
  46. Glenn Close--on Damages, and blind doesn't say the show's a network show.

Cannot deny she's skinny, and has had plastic surgery.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I was thinking maybe Laura Dern in "Enlightened".

    ReplyDelete
  48. I totally thought Glenn Close. It totally fits, Damages is shaky for another season and she had SOMETHING done.

    ReplyDelete
  49. @B, Buffalo 66 is one of my all-time favorite movies, but I know so few others who liked it!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Gabrielle Anwar is not an over-acter, she didn't land a TV gig because of "new-found fame," and Burn Notice is not about to be cancelled. Also, she's always been a waif, and her nose looks just fine.

    ReplyDelete
  51. @MM I disagree. It was all due to the nose candy, meaning weight loss. Coke notoriously kills your appetite and makes you lose weight. So she didn't get plastic surgery, she lost weight by snorting a lot of blow. I'm still kind of confused as to why people are insisting this is about facial plastic surgery. Oh well.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Jennifer Lopez, she used to be more curvy, other chicas eg other Latinas, American idol will be cancelled.
