BuzzFoto Blind Item

This overweight child actor on an ensemble kids show is encouraged to continue to maintain an unhealthy weight because it fits her character. Unfortunately for her, she feels very isolated from the rest of the cast because of her weight. The rest of the cast hang out, date one another and have a variety of social gatherings, all of which she isn’t invited to. The exclusion is making her extremely depressed and resort to unhealthy coping mechanisms.

  1. So nice of her parents to let her continue in the roll. I'm sure they are also her managers and get %15 or more out of her paycheck and keep her fat to keep the money rolling in.

F'them, Nickelodeon or Disney who are doing this too her.

Haven't enough child actors gone over the edge due to how they are treated as moneymakers. Ugh, this one makes my blood boil.

  2. To make it worse, I'm sure they lay on the fat jokes, too.

  3. Perhaps Amber Riley actually was a size Zero before landing her GLEE gig?

  4. How sad! I'm not too familiar with kids' shows so I have no idea who this could be. I just hope her parents are setting aside money for the therapy she will need because of this.

  5. Timebob: Managers are only allowed to extract a certain amount. I think it is 15% hence some people choose to be managers because they can get that as opposed to agents which under SAG rules can only take 10%. Further all monies made must be put in a trust and released upon age 18 or MAYBE if they become emancipated earlier. Not sure completely. That's why all the kids from the Harry Potter series were so wealthy upon their 18th. At least that's how I remember it.

  6. This doesn't even make sense really. If its someone on a kids show, they shouldn't all be dating each other, nor should she be reaching out to other coping mechanisms unless its more food.

The only one I know off the top of my head is that the girl on Austin and Ally is quite chubby. Its a Disney show.

  7. ^That's what I was thinking. I can't think of any Nick teen shows with an overweight girl either. Huh.

  8. I would guess Raven Goodwin, who is on the Disney show "Goodluck Charlie". She could pass for Amber Riley's little sister.

  9. I think that parents can take a 15% commission as managers but under the Jackie Coogan statute must also bank a relatively low percentage of the child's *net* income (after expenses) until the kid reaches 21. Enty?

  10. What fat kids are there? A fat kid would stick out, especially a female one.

  11. Good guess, Jennifer. I like "Good Luck Charlie". I'm actually kind of excited about the new baby.

    *sigh* ChopChop has no life.

  12. Perhaps it's whats on the inside that is keeping her from being included in the group and not her appearance.

  13. Patty, this is Hollywood. Of COURSE it's her looks.

  14. There is a show on Disney I think (Or nick) with a chubby lead. It is pretty new and my daughter watches it.

I'll ask her the name of it when she gets home from school.

  15. I also love Good Luck Charlie. That and a couple other kids shows, I will sit down and watch with my daughter.

  16. It's Raini Rodriguez- she's on a show called Austin & Ally on the Disney Channel - she was in Paul Blart Mall Cop, she was Kevin James' daughter.

  17. I really don't think Austin and Ally is really an ensemble show-just 4 main leads really and the rest of the characters are all just peripheral.

Good Luck Charlie seems like a nice family show and the cast all seem to get along. I can't see them "all dating each other" as they are all of different ages.

It saddens me that this child "shouldn't" be encouraged to keep her less than perfect body. It is a big shame that others shun her for her weight. Bad parenting and values for the others. Stay strong child, and stay healthy for you.

  18. We need Demi Lovato to the RESCUE! Maybe DEMZ needs to fight aganist this as well. This is like reverse Anorexia.

  19. I love "Good Luck Charlie," too! I'd hate to think that Bridget and the rest of the cast would do this to Raven/Ivy.

But like Ice Angel said, there are only, what, three other teenagers on the show? (Teddy, PJ, and Emmitt, if we're not counting Teddy's and PJ's various dates.) How are they "dating one another"?

    So...I have no guess.

  20. Forcing a child to maintain an unhealthy weight is child abuse, plain and simple.

  21. This frankly sounds really bogus to me. If she's old enough to date, she's old enough to diet--it's not like she's five years old. I really doubt anyone is forcing donuts down her throat.

  22. Krab, they can put a lot of pressure on her. America Ferrera was pretty much flat-out told by Ugly Betty that she was not allowed to lose weight. And imagine how much harder that would be for a kid to stand up to.

  23. I think it's Jennifer Stone from Wizards of Waverly Place. I just saw her on a House Rerun from a couple years ago where she plays an obese girl who had a heart attack. Didn't know who she was, so I googled her.
