Mea Culpa

Yesterday was a bad day. It has been awhile since I had one but I really stuck my foot in my mouth a couple of times. When you are writing a lot of things and writing them in a hurry, things sometimes sound funny in your head, but do not turn out the way you thought they would when you actually read them. I should have been more careful with the Jessica Simpson post I wrote yesterday. It did not come out the way I wanted, and for that I apologize. I think this also confirms that I really am a guy and I know absolutely nothing about pregnant women. Jessica, if you were here right now we could hug it out and you could also explain why you picked a unemployed guy to be your baby daddy.

Not wanting to limit myself, I also messed up on the Bruce Jenner story. Hey, I still stand by the fact that guy has had way too much plastic surgery, but in this case it appears the scar was because of skin cancer. Not sure how it happened since Kris never lets him out of the garage, but it did, and I should have used a different photo to demonstrate why he should stop getting plastic surgery.

I try to get things right and to write what I mean, but it does not always happen. I shall do better. I have always wanted to use shall in a post. Use it at work all the time, but I think this might be a first for the site.

  1. I really prefer "mea culpa" to "my bad"...when someone over the age of 40 says "my bad", I cringe.

  2. Enty, you were right about the JSimp thing actually! She yaps to US Weekly about how everything she eats is loaded with sugar and she licks salt off her hand as a sandwich chaser. (I wish I was kidding.) None of these shenanigans are recommended for the sperminated. Love you and love this blog :)

  3. ***hugs enty*** its okay buddy, we all make mistakes :)

  4. For Bruce, it must have been big and deep that was a lot of stitches. My neighbor had something removed and the doctor did the most fantastic job the scar healed in the most natural way.
Jessica is the happiest pregnant woman I have ever seen...hope she doesn't marry the creep.

  5. It takes a real person to apologize- GOOD FOR YOU BACON BITCH!
I saw Jessica on one of the Hollywood "news" shows the other day- saying she eats a box of Kraft mac & cheese smothered in Lawreys seasoned salt EVERY DAY. Sodium overload!!! She is a going off the rails! To be fair- I gained 70 lbs with my last child, so I understand and have sympathy for the girl and all others who find themselves in love with food during a pregnancy.

  6. It's all good, Enty. You're right; we all have bad/off days. Not a big deal, it's just entertainment, not controlling the world! :-)

  7. Aw, that's nice of you Enty! No sweat.

Sometimes stuff just comes out wrong.

  8. When I was Pregnant while the earth was still young I use to stand with the fridge door open and eat all the veggies and fruit while standing there. I would have fruit juice all over my ex-large baby bump and I could set plates on it and watch them move. thought she would be a soccer player from the way she kicked. She did in college (so she could legally hit people). I like a man who can say he's sorry with bacon breath.

  9. My post got lost but was important enough for me to repost.

It takes a big man to admit he was wrong!

But I dunno, I never let my mood get the better of me. Haha

  10. Ent, you are human after all. Right now I'm eating linguine carbonara after a workout. Yes, I said workout.

I wonder if I can do my work from the floor ...

  11. We still love you bacon boo

  12. I meant to say more about things coming out wrong: in Bible Study last week, we went around the circle and added a personal prayer. I prayed for my husband's uncle, who is 81 and not doing well. But only later did I realize that it sounded like I was praying for him to die--"please take him" when I meant to say "please take care of him." Oops. Stuff like that will bug me all week then.

  13. Thanks Enty for reading & responding to your faithful readers. Your such a Bacon-Bitch (stolen from Christine!) Love it!

  14. Enty, Open up any major newspaper in this country and it is LOADED with corrections. If you are truly are a one-man show, running this site while working as a lawyer, I'm majorly impressed that you haven't had more frequent errors.

Anyways, I understand the bad days on the job. As one of my dear friends in the newspaper biz used to say, "They can't all be gems..."

Your site rocks, so no worries!

totally OK...to be honest, i am so f-ing busy that i can be bothered by all the BS/mistakes/opinions/etc...
i just come here on my 15 min lunch break/late night escape so i can blow off steam.
thank you that E and no worries!

  17. Been there, done that and totally understand about the foot-in-mouth thing. A few blogs made the mistake w/Bruce, and Jessica Simpson seems to be fair game everywhere. It was very gentlemanly of you to apologize.

  18. Enty, your humanity is what makes CDAN such a vital experience. Better to acknowledge lapses than to pose as a drone fraud.

Last year I had an epiphany about language. I realized that many of the women I know (including me) and the MSM often use the word "perfect" in reference to women and how we talk, live, think about ourselves. Men don't focus on "perfect"... the best try to be excellent. It's an interesting shift that focuses on being a HUMAN, the best you. I've since erased "perfect" from much of my thinking, self-critiquing... and have been delightfully surprised to see how my days are now full of more kindness and light.

I know this post is off-topic but thought it might offer support and perspective. Cheers!

  21. It's nice to see that not only do you care but that you also read our comments & care enough to address them. :0}

  22. that was such a nice thing to do. I read your blog to hubby daily and even he's impressed. *hugs* Good job Enty

Also @Tinsel, I needed that today. Thanks!

  23. My mom used to tell me to never put anything in writing that I didn't want to come back and haunt me later. It must be tough to write a gossip blog and then get heat for being snarky. It must also be tough to come up with as many stories as you do a day. I hope the blog pays off for your efforts.

Thanks for the mea culpa. I wasn't upset yesterday.

  24. Enty, you're a good egg. I bet you never used that phrase in a post either.

Seriously, it's cool that you did this. You're busy trying to interest us and make us laugh, all while being a lawyer and day dreaming about bacon, alcohol, and what you would do with all of the cash you would have if it all didn't go out the door as alimony. So you rush sometimes to post, and the words may not come out right. I love you for that, you multitasking wonder!

  25. Aaawwww, is it any wonder we love you Enty? Everyone has bad days, and it takes a big person (no pun intended!) to stand up and apologize. You rock Enty!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Now, see, this is why I keep coming back to this blog. It's the only gossip blog to which I am really faithful.

It's because there's a heart inside our Enty.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Honestly, I wasn't offended (but it takes an awful lot to offend me), but it's cool. Everyone's entitled to their opinion. Keep on keeping on.

    ReplyDelete
  28. This is why I love this site. Enty, you rock. You are the best.

  29. I think you posted what everyone was thinking. Jessica is gaining too much weight, and Bruce has had so much plastic surgery, it's only natural to assume it was more.

Jessica's doctor has to be telling her that she is headed for a multitude of medical problems with all the weight she is gaining.

    ReplyDelete
  30. No problem. It takes a big man to admit when he was wrong. If I had a blog with this much stuff on it everyday, I'd be getting stuff wrong and offending people constantly! For the record, you are right about Jenner having had too much surgery.

  31. You gotta give Enty props..He listened to the request for live blogging on the Golden Globes and he responed to peoples ire over yesterdays posting..

It's very gracious and big (no pun) of you to apologize. Is it no wonder why you have so many loyal devoted followers?

    Thank you.

  32. That was really nice of you to post this, Enty. It shows that you are humble and that you appreciate your readers. Bacon breath or no, you're the best!

  33. Enty, you're a great person. We all make mistakes, no big deal... but it takes a great person to own up to and correct their mistakes.

There was never any love lost, and I'd still share my bacon with you any day. :)

    ReplyDelete
  34. Big love for you Enty. Running all this can't be easy, and yet you keep us entertained and even if something comes out a little sideways,it gives us food for thought and comment.

  35. Kudos Enty for manning up. Your only human and make mistakes just like the rest of us. Thanks and Keep Doing What You Do!

  39. Enty, for the several years I have read this blog, this is the first time I have read domething like this. Thousands of posts, sometimes under the influence! Silly Billy we all make mistakes.

  40. Dear God, I am simple minded, but the bacon references kill me--bacon boo, bacon bitch, bacon breath. . .

And thank you, Enty, for this blog. I would be lost without it.

  41. Aw Enty, you are 100% forgiven by this pregnant lady. Thank you :)

    ReplyDelete
  42. oh honey it's okay..Jessica does look large but hey when my daughter was expecting granddaughter number two I'd tease her by saying I was renting her out to the city to plow the roads..it's all good as for Jenner..if his skin got any tighter he could be a drum..

  43. You have to love a man that knows how to say sorry.

  44. ENTY DO YOU REALIZE WHAT YOU'VE DONE??!!! LOL. ;O)

it's okay, Enty. no big deal. i really admire that you are mindful enough to apologize. you rule.

    Enty, all is completely forgiven!

  49. It takes a big man (pun intended) to admit he's wrong, lol.
It's ok it will all be ok, take an extra bacon break today and pretend your eating for two, and you will feel better.

  50. Awww, bless your bacon lovin' heart. Very big of ya to own up to that. ;)

    LOL @ jax

  51. It's your site Enty, write whatever you want. Personally I agreed with you on the Jessica Simpson thing anyways. She has made her living off being skinny and sexy with little to no talent. Now she's big, and people get to call her on it. IMO if you made a fortune off your body looking good, that's fair.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Everybody else has already said everything I could have or would have (except maybe an "achin' for the bacon" reference;) this is the only site I'm also faithful to, I respect your and everyone else's opinions and input (save the occasional troll, and totally ignoring them really seems to solve that problem,) and this post is one of the reasons why.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Ida, you just have the worst luck with timing, lol. While you were away from the blog, Enty hardly posted about them at all, then you came back just in time for their resurgence. Hopefully Enty will stop posting about them again and you will be around to enjoy their absence. :)

    ReplyDelete
  54. Enty, I didn't disagree with you yesterday, but a lot of other readers did, so I give you mad props (hah!) for writing this. It's difficult to apologize sometimes, for me anyway.

Been reading your blog for about a year, commenting for just a few months, and I comment here because you have some very interesting people on here who aren't afraid to give their opinions and have an actual discussion. I read you, comments included, almost everyday and I'm superhappy I found this place.

Really, everybody already said what I'm trying to say so I'll stop. Thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  55. ...what they said =0)

(and like a lot of others; i'll never stop loving this place)

    ReplyDelete
  56. Enty you are the only honest to goodness real person blogger out there. Everyone else has pretend mannerisms to try and attract more readers instead of just doing a good job.

I like you the way you are.
