Britney Spears To Be X Factor Judge
Get ready to see Britney Spears several nights a week on television. If you thought Paula Abdul brought a level of what will she say to television then you will be a big fan of Britney. I think we will see everything from numbness to where am I to some censored f bombs to an over under of 8 ya'll's an episode. None of this will probably make people want to watch the show any more than they already do. Like I have said before, is the show about the judges or the contestants? Britney mentoring the contestants should be fun. Britney does not usually have any outside interaction or interference so the introduction of new people into her life should be an interesting stimulus. Britney is going to get paid $10M for her work on the show which is about what she would make for a week's worth of concerts.
I've always liked Britney, but I can't see her feeling comfortable critiquing people.
ReplyDeleteI will probably watch this, only to see if she is the over-medicated zombie that I believe she's become. I saw a video the other day that morphs her baby face into her current face, and the sad thing about it was that her eyes have this bright sparkle that fades after the Kevin F. times.
ReplyDeleteNah, I won't watch it. I bet it'll be interesting tho.
This does not sound good. If they were going to go this route, they should have just stuck with Paula.
ReplyDeleteStunt casting. But good stunt casting.
ReplyDeleteSupposedly she's getting $10 million, supposedly JLo is getting $12 million. Wonder what the actual figures are.
I like the idea. I hope it really boosts Britney's spirits too as well as her boyfriend's and father's bank accounts *sigh*
ReplyDeleteShe's sweet but not too bright...Ugh
ReplyDeleteShe should take her crapload of money and vacation the rest of her life.
ReplyDeleteI predict some fun here. If she gets a little freedom, will she run with it like a parolee across a county highway (happened around here yesterday, seemed an apt metaphore) or will she decide she likes the freedom enough to hide the crazy. *another side-eye at my brother*
ReplyDeleteI really want her to get her life back on track and hopefully this is the first step. Good luck to her.
ReplyDeleteWow, $10 million to someone who can't sing to mentor singers. Dancing? Sure, eight years ago but singing?
ReplyDeleteSigh, that is just so much money...
I wonder if her Dad will sign off on it. Nicole got such bad backlash for being a weak judge and making cowardly decisions. I would expect the same from Britney her mental illness could flare up again and would hate to see her go off the deep end again.
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised (!!) they are going to let her speak in public. It was my impression she is never interviewed or speaking in public because she is completely incapable of being a normal human being.
ReplyDeleteI would totally watch this (or catch the good bits on YouTube)!
BigMama - "likes the freedom enough to hide the crazy" - boy did you nail it. I can tell you have actual real life experience with crazy, because your statement is so dead on accurate.
ReplyDeleteThe crazy in my life is a master of keeping it under wraps, until stress or illness makes the facade drop.
And crazy always wins.
This will def make me watch the show. So many options for a drinking game
ReplyDeleteI love Britney. Damn you Simon Cowell, now I will probably have to watch an episode of this. Just one.
ReplyDelete@ Amanda: I totally agree - crazy always ends up winning.
ReplyDeleteIt's good for her, because it is a way to make money without the hard work of a tour. She will be on a regular schedule, which is good for her sons.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I think she is lowering herself, and it is not a good move for her to do a cheesy talent contest. Especially one nobody watches.
ITA with Anita. What advice can she possibly offer a singer? Pathetic.
ReplyDeleteEnty, I'll take the over on that bet!
ReplyDeleteI have to admit that I like Britney. I think like many former child stars she probably had her fair share of horrible things happen to her at a young age. Take that and a complete lack of education into account, and I think she's held together as well as can be expected. I think this has the potential to be a very good think for her. If, like others have said, she can keep the crazy at bay.
ReplyDeleteI bet Sam Lufti watches every single show.
ReplyDeleteI am completely in for watching this shiz now. I totally don't care about X Factor, have never even considered watching it, even when I had NOTHING better to do. But that crazy like a fox Simon has sucked me in with the BritBrit. She is judging gold.
ReplyDeleteand $10 mil is not enough for the Brit. She deserves much, much more for the entertainment value I so hope she brings.
ReplyDeleteI'm with ms snarky - I'll be watching because of Britney. I've never considered watching before. I'm not a Britney fan, but I'm interested to see how she does.
ReplyDeleteI will watch Britney on X Factor (at least a few times) for same reason I tuned into watch Lindsay Lohan on SNL.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE a train wreck. (which is probably why this site is like delicious crack to me.)
I thought everything she said was scripted. How do they expect her to give spontaneous comments if she hasn't been allowed to form her own thoughts for years.
ReplyDeleteI don't watch X-factor, but I hope that she doesn't do anything to embarrass herself. She seems easily hurt and I would hate for that to happen to her.
ReplyDeleteShe is a great entertainer, but like Paula her singing leaves something to be desired. It takes more than being a good entertainer to win that show. Could be interesting to see how she does as a judge?
ReplyDelete@bigmama I so want to hang with you for a day (or two) I love your sense of humor!
ReplyDeletei think her father's advice would be more valuable
