Today's Blind Items - Passed Around Like Candy

It was not that long ago that this A- list actress nominee/winner of the biggest award was just starting out in movies. There she was in one of her first movies and she owed it all to the guy she had known for awhile. He has touched A list himself and at the time was set to become a star but told his friend he could get her on his new movie but that she was going to have to have sex with him. No problem. She liked him anyway and they had fooled around before so sex was not an issue. He then got her invited to the set where she met some of the other actors and actresses. She was having a great time and then our A list actor told her that the director liked her and wanted to put her in the movie, but that he had just broken up with his girlfriend and maybe our A list actress would have sex with the director too. A little more hesitant, but she did. The next thing you know she also had sex with one of the producers who said that he was working on a movie after this one wrapped and he would make her a lead. But, before he could make her a lead, he wanted to know he could count on her so he ended up having sex with her and then the next day she heard him saying the same thing to another actress on the movie who would later become a solid B lister with a very unique voice and they went into a trailer to have sex but emerged a short time later and the producer yelled to our A list actress that she got the part.

Well, she got the part subject to her having sex with everyone on the first movie that the producer though it would be fun to see her with. The resident drug addicted actor? He thought it was hilarious to have her have sex with that guy. He passed her around like candy and kept passing her around like candy, but he did give her the role he promised her. During the shooting of that movie the producer tried to play the same game with her, but she was already getting buzz nationwide from something else and she was immune. Not so for this other actress in the movie who was also brought on board by the A list actor from the first movie under a similar situation. Who knew he was such a pimp? Anyway, that actress lasted about a week being passed around and then overdosed. Some say suicide, some say accidental. What everyone agrees is that she had never used drugs before that week and being passed around like candy.

    Did the last actress die?

    1. She may not have died...it says she overdosed which could have been an accident or perhaps a failed suicide attempt.

Orrr, she may have died. And now there is brain shrapnel on my phone. Why do i put this much effort in??

  3. Overdosed actress, hmmm I don't know why I see Brittany Murphy in this one. The A list winner/nominee Renee Zellweger?

    ReplyDelete
  4. I have no reasons other than first name to pop up in my mind: Amy Adams. I hope not though.

But I wouldn't wish this on anyone.

    ReplyDelete
  5. @Montana - I was thinking of Brittany Murphy, too, but wasn't she hooked on drugs for a really long time?

Unique voice - could it be Rosie Perez?

    I'm so confused....

    ReplyDelete
  6. Yeah this one is a doozy, I need to break down all the cast of characters again.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Unique voice = Joey Lauren Adams?

    ReplyDelete
  8. This gives me a headache, but for some reason the first actress to pop in my head was Renee Z for A list biggest award winner.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I don't know why Charliez Theron is stickin in my mind for the current a lister

    ReplyDelete
  10. Someone has got to be able to put this together, I'm terrible at these, but some of you are so good!

Female actress that died of a possible OD that had no known history of using drugs, after being on movie set for a week, the director, the druggy actor...

    ReplyDelete
  11. If the last actress died, it has to be Brittany Murphy? The wording is so confusing on this.

Could the resident drug addicted actor be Heath Ledger?

    ReplyDelete
  12. I'm thinking Michelle Williams is the first "A- list actress nominee/winner" Enty mentions. And Maybe Heath Ledger was the actor who helped her out who "Touched A list himself"?

Then later when he sayd "she was already getting buzz nationwide from something else and she was immune" (Heath's death)

    ReplyDelete
  13. This BV is all over the place. Hard to follow.

No...not Heath Ledger. It was a female actress who OD'd.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I don't think it is Brittany Murphy. The blind says she never used drugs before this. Brittany had a problem for a long time.

I was thinking ScarJo for the A-list actress/nominee-winner.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Could this be really old news? How about Marilyn Monroe?

    ReplyDelete
  16. I was thinking Scarlett Jo for the B lister with a unique voice. She's never been nominated/won an Oscar.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I feel like the last actress did not die. Maybe she just got pulled off the movie?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Reese Witherspoon? Hillary Swank?

    ReplyDelete
  19. I'm confused, too. Do we work backwards from the actress who died?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Sounds like the drug addicted actor who brought on the new-to-drugs actress worked with her on two films.

    ReplyDelete
  21. For some reason I feel like this has something to do with DAzed and Confused and/or Reality Bites? But without a timeline suggestion this could be anyone.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I feel like the overdoser may be someone not obvious or even famous - it just says actress but with no A/B/C association. Also, I feel like "passed around like candy" could be a clue, since its written so many times. I thought of Strangers with Candy, but that doesn't seem right.

    ReplyDelete
  23. @Susan - you could be right, maybe she didn't die.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Maybe the last actress is Eva Mendes or Kirsten Dunst? Just trying to think of broads who have gone to rehab for "exhaustion" or some other bullshit. LOL.

Enty, this blind needs a list like you do for Four for Friday?!?! WTF??

    ReplyDelete
  25. Renee Zellweger and Matthew McConaughey were friends before starring in Dazed and Confused with Joey Lauren Adams.

It's not Britney Murphy because anyone that knows a single fact about Murphy knows she had a long term problem w/drugs. Not to mention her cause of death was natural.

The actress who's dead is probably a never was:

During the shooting of that movie the producer tried to play the same game with her, but she was already getting buzz nationwide from something else and she was immune. NOT SO FOR THIS OTHER ACTRESS in the movie who was also brought on board by the A list actor from the first movie under a similar situation. Who knew he was such a pimp? Anyway, that actress lasted about a week being passed around and then overdosed.

OTHER/DEAD actress isn't mentioned until the end. She's probably not well known.

  28. The ODer had to have died...the blind mentions suicide.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I don't know why, but I'm thinking Jessica Chastain A-list actress Oscar nominee

Drug-addicted star who has touched A-list: Gerard Butler

    Movie: Coriolanus

    Director: Ralph Fiennes

    Second movie: The Debt?

Nationwide buzz for the Terry Malick's Tree of Life

    I hope I'm wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Of the actress "who would later become a solid B lister" Enty says, "Anyway, that actress lasted about a week being passed around and then overdosed. Some say suicide, some say accidental."

So "Solid B Actress" died - either by suicide or accidental OD. However, another thing that's important is the use of "not that long ago" - he used that in the RFO BI, as well. So this may be farther back than Brittany Murphy.

    ReplyDelete
  31. You know what? I say good for the B lister with the distinct voice who obviously did not play this game.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Renee Zellweger. McConaughey brought her in on Dazed and Confused. Resident drug user was Jason London. B- list actress with unique voice is Joey Lauren Adams. New movie for starting role was Texas Chainsaw Massacre which Renee was the lead in with McConaughey. No clue who od'd actress was

    ReplyDelete
  33. I don't get it was the B lister who overdosed. I think it was another girl in the second movie that the same actor brought on board.

    ReplyDelete
  34. So, the players as I interpret it are:

#1) A- list actress, who was nominated or won an Oscar. Got a part in a movie because she was connected to an actor (#2) who was up and coming at the time, and later A list (but probably no longer A list). She later became famous for something else other than her acting. After doing her first real movie role, she was the lead in another movie. The blind seems to imply that she may have done TV or something else prior to movies.

#2) Actor who was briefly A List. Did at least two movies, and was associated/knew #1 and #4 prior to being in a movie with them.

#3) B List Actress with unique voice.

#4) Actress who OD'd and died during the filming of a movie. Was in a movie with #1, #2, and #5. No known history of drug use prior to her OD.

#5) Actor who was known as a drug addict. Did a movie with #2, #3, #4, and #5.

I think if we start with the first movie, where all the players apparently came together in one film, we'll be able to figure this out.

    ReplyDelete
  35. What about the movie Candyman? Star Virgina Madsen was nominated for an Oscar. It came around in 92 around the start of her career. That's all I have, though.

    ReplyDelete
  36. So we are looking for a Marilyn Monroe type scenario - ambiguous drug death. Hmmm.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Lucy Gordon was in Spiderman 3 and died in probable suicide, but it was 2 years after the movie was released. Maybe, if Enty is smudging the time line?

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-1185450/Spider-Man-actress-Lucy-Gordon-left-suicide-notes-hanging-Paris-flat.html

  42. this makes me very sad. honestly, I had never realized that pretty much all actresses have to play the casting couch game. and child actors/actresses too. its just too disgusting.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Yeah, the B lister and the other actress who ODed are two different people.

    1. A list actress
    2. A list actor
    3. Director
    4 Producer
    5. Resident drug addicted actor (or is that the A lister??)
    6. Other actress brought on board of second movie (the part the producer promised the A lister when she had sex with him on the set of the first movie).

    ReplyDelete
  44. Virgina Madsen was around in the 80s.

My first thought was Charlize Theron for the A list actress, but I am liking the Dazed and Confused story.

    ReplyDelete
  45. What about Margaux Hemingway for actress who died of an overdose? If I remember right they never determined if it was suicide or an accidental overdose.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Not Lucy Gordon. She hanged herself in her Paris apartment. That can't be misconstrued as drug related...

    ReplyDelete
  47. Okay, got to break down all the clues!

#1 - now anI A list actress, winner/nominee of an Academy Award
#2 - actor, longtime friend of #1, "touched" A list, worked on 1st the movie
    #3 - 1st movie
    #4 - director of 1st the movie
#5 - actress in 1st movie, now (then?) a B lister with a "unique voice." Slept with director (apparently not well), didn't get lead in movie #2
#6 - resident drug addicted actor in 1st movie
#7 -2nd movie; #1 is the female lead
#8 - another actress in 2nd movie, passed around for sex, overdosed after a week; unclear if she's dead, hadn't used drugs before that week (no list status mentioned, may not be well known)

    Whew!

    ReplyDelete
  48. According to wiki, the only two actresses to fit the od bill were either Margaux Hemingway, Dana Plato, or Jennifer Syme who had a a relationship with Keanu Reeves.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_drug-related_deaths

    ReplyDelete
  49. Silvermist,
I don't think we can assume that she became famous for "something else other than her acting." The "something else" could've been another movie that came out while she was filming this one.

    ReplyDelete
  50. It isn't Plato - she had a long history of drug problems and her career was over save some softcover porn at the time of her death

    ReplyDelete
  51. Have I mentioned I want to kill my phone? Kept putting "the" after "1st." LOL, "1st the movie!" Geez. Sorry about that.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Jennifer Tilly has a unique voice...With whom has she been in movies?

    ReplyDelete
  53. I also immediately thought of the "Candy" reference...

Tried to make "Hard Candy" work but the actors dont work.

"Candy" is a movie with Abbie Cornish and Heath Ledger but I cant make that fit either.

If Dazed and Confused is correct Milla Jovovich or Parker Posey could fit the distinct voice clue

    ReplyDelete
  54. Fran Dreschner has a very unique voice, so does Jennifer Tilly and Carol Channing.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Anonymous10:59 AM

Since I've got nothing, how 'bout I throw out some "unique voiced" actresses:

    Jennifer Tilly
    Fran Drescher
    Joey Lauren Adams
    Zooey Deschanel (singing, not speaking)
    Rosie Perez

    ReplyDelete
  56. If Jennifer Tilly is the B, then this would be a long time ago, as in pre-"The Simpsons," and probably pre-marriage to Matt Groening. She got some serious money from that, as in filthy rich now.

    ReplyDelete
  57. It says the overdosed actress was in the first movie...but I have scoured the net looking for a dead overdosed actress who fits the rest of the blind and I can't find anything?! Damn I have a meeting now too! Thank GOD for smartphones.

    ReplyDelete
  58. If I am not mistaken I recall Enty using that same description of B lister with a very unique voice to describe Joey Lauren Adams, so I am led to believe it is her. Now just to work around her and see if we can locate who the other characters are.

    ReplyDelete
  59. According to IMDB none of the producers on Dazed And Confused subsequently worked on Texas Chainsaw.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Anonymous11:13 AM

Joey Lauren Adams is not a solid B lister, probably hasn't ever been a B list at all.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I don't think she is either but during a BI reveal when describing a B lister with a very unique voice, Enty revealed this to be JLA, if anyone could find that reveal please post it, I will look for it as well.

  65. Blind Items Revealed

    June 2, 2010

A few weeks ago this C list movie and television actress who used to be B and has a very distinctive voice was in the airport when she met a woman and her wheelchair bound daughter. The mom and daughter were going back to their home after being in Los Angeles for what they thought was going to be a Make A Wish type event. NOT Make A Wish but some other organization. Anyway, it turned out that the event the daughter was supposed to go to to meet one of her favorite musicians was canceled. Literally all the daughter got was a t-shirt. No Disneyland, no nothing. Well, our actress called her manager, canceled her own ticket on the flight and took both the mom and the daughter to a hotel, called all of her friends and anyone else she could think of and threw the girl a party at her house with about 20 A and B list actors and also the girl's favorite musician. She then arranged for a limo to take the two to the airport the next day.

    Joey Lauren Adams

    ReplyDelete
  69. I think the Matthew McC/Joey Lauren Adams/Renee Zellweger/Jason London guess would make a lot more sense if Renee's part in Dazed and Confused wasn't like 2 seconds long. She was basically an extra. She would really do this to be an extra on what at the time was an incredibly low-budget indie movie that no one thought would blow up like it did? I just don't see it. And I don't think MM had "touched A list" at that point either but maybe I'm wrong? So maybe its the CSM set where this occurred, she did hae a leading role in that, right?

But could this be her from Reality Bites? People find Winona Ryder and Jeanine Garafalo annoying right? And didn't Ben Stiller direct that? Would that make Ethan Hawke the drug-addled actor?

I also don't think you are going to find the person who died by googling because 1) its likely the reported cause of death isn't the actual cause and 2) this person may have not even been a credited actor at the time of her demise.

    ReplyDelete
  70. I feel like the A list actor may be Terrance Howard due to the pimp reference - he was big for a short time wasn't he? I can see him finding humor in passing a girl around.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Jennifer Syme didnt die of drugs, she died because she had a carcrash after taking drugs at a party of Marilyn Manson.

    ReplyDelete
  72. @Annabella- I too wonder if all actors and actresses ( it's not just women) have subjected themselves to having sex for a role or opportunity.

The thing is, they are adults and if no one or most people said "no" then it would not be such a common practice. Not blaming the victim here, but the perpetrators and the victims in these scenarios create a self-feeding mechanism.

I have no idea on who the actress could be, but it's such a sad story.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Actress: Diane Keaton
    Director: Francis Ford Coppola
or Woody Allen depending if it is Godfather series or Woody Allen movies...

    ReplyDelete
  74. I'm thinking the actress had an overdose, survived, and that no one knew if her OD was a suicide attempt. Odd wording Enty.

  76. Izahart, I got the impression that the future A list actress was sleeping around, at first to just get in the film, but later to get the lead in the next movie. I had to re-read the blind to figure out if she was even in the first movie or just hanging around the set. Could have been an extra. Mayne Renee Z is still a possibility?

    ReplyDelete
  77. What about Ellen Page? Hard Candy?

    ReplyDelete
  78. I can't even think straight.

What about Julia Roberts - Pretty woman and the girl with the unique voice B list Laura San Giacomo. Actor - Richard Gere.

2nd movie, but Julia was already getting buzz for Pretty woman, while filming Flat Liners. Don't know who the drug addicted actor is though, unless it's Keiffer, but they ended up engaged engaged...so, I don't know. It's all I've got.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Renee Z. still totally works for Dazed as the A- lister. It only says she was in the first movie, because of her friend (Matt McC), not that she had any significant part.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Unique voice: Scarlett Johansson?

    ReplyDelete
  81. Can't be Renee if it's Dazed and Confused. Whatever the movie, the actress got the Lead. Renee wasn't the lead. I thought Joey Lawrence was. Joey has a unique voice, but she never hit B actress.

  86. What JW said... and I am getting sick to my stomach the more of these blinds I read. Thank GOD my dream of becoming an actress didn't come true. ReplyDelete
  87. I'm thinking
A List Actress - Uma Thurman
B List Actress - Jennifer Tilly
A List Touch Actor - Tim Roth
    Director - Tarantino
    Movie - Pulp Fiction

Have to figure out the rest...

    ReplyDelete
  88. movie - jawbreaker

    directer - darren stein

a list actress - rose mcgowen (about to be in tarentino film where she has the gun for a leg)

one time alister - jeff conway

actress that develops drug problem - rebecca gayheart

    ReplyDelete
  89. Are you really a lawyer? Your writing style is so unclear, I can't even imagine how confusing you are in court. Please clean up this mess of a post so it makes sense. Clarity!

    ReplyDelete
  90. @crila, the lead is the part in the second movie, not the first. The A list actor told the A list actress that the director of the first one wanted to put her in the movie and if she would have sex with him. THEN she also had sex with one of the producers who said he'd make her a lead in the movie he's working on after the first one wrapped.

The first movie part could very well be a bit part. The SECOND one is the lead.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Weinsteins are both producers for Uma's next two movies. A Month by the Lake and Beautiful Girls.

Beautiful girls has Matt Dillon, Timothy Hutton, and David Arquette as actors in that movie...

Doesnt necessarily say the actor was in the second movie as well by my reading.

My head hurts... I'm going to have to figure out later.

  92. My head hurts....

    ReplyDelete
  94. "If Jennifer Tilly is the B, then this would be a long time ago, as in pre-"The Simpsons," and probably pre-marriage to Matt Groening. She got some serious money from that, as in filthy rich now."

JT was married to Sam Simon, not Matt Groening. (I had to look this up, because I had NEVER heard of her being involved with Matt Groening, and I thought I was losing my mind.)

    ReplyDelete
  95. This is crazy. More research will be done later this afternoon. Juicy, but still sad for the women and shame on the men. I'd like the men to be revealed (especially that dick of a producer) so they could be boycotted.

    ReplyDelete
  96. You guys are awesome!

My head is spinning just trying to make sense of this. I think Enty is actually giving Ted C a run for his money in the "let's make this as confusing as possible" for everyone.

    ReplyDelete
  97. This blind is so confusing -I read it as the A list actor and the drug-addled the same? And he got her "the role" - which I infer means he's the same as the A-list, since he told her he could.

Other than that I got nothing. And to think in my youth I wanted to be an actress! I don't think I would ever have played that game, but who knows being young, impressional, and perhaps on the cusp of getting good roles? All these blinds make me think of Mulholland Dr where the Naomi Watts character starts off so innocent and becomes a mess. I guess Lynch wasn't so far from the truth. I bet most men don't have to go thru this shit.

    ReplyDelete
  98. AKM---My favorite thing about Sam Simon is his dog rescue/charity.
They always used the name Sam 'Sayonara' Simon on Halloween eps b/c he left the Simpsons after the first or second season. BUT he still gets the money--so Jennifer Tilly is VERY well taken care of, as are thousands of dogs by now. He is a GREAT guy.

    ReplyDelete
  99. I think we need to concentrate on the phrase that she "eas getting buzz nationwide due to something else". This is why the actress didn't have to give up sex during the second film. The only reasons I can think of for buzz would be (a) she was multi-talented (i.e. singer/actress who suddenly hit it big with singing but unknown as actress) or (b) began dating someone high profile. I tend towards the latter because the blinds usually note if the person is multi-talented.

    ReplyDelete
  100. For the OD actress I'm going to throw in Alexa Kenin who was in Pretty in Pink and some other 80's movies.

    Her IMDB:

    ReplyDelete
  101. With all this Himmmm stuff lately and the bomshell he dropped lately, is there actually any way to make this work:

    Producer: Michael Douglas
Actress with the voice: Kathleen Turner.
    Director: Robert Zemeckis.

I can't get the actress the fit though..Jane Fonda and Joan Allen almost fit but not quite.

    ReplyDelete
  102. @msgirl: I was also thinking Naomi Watts in Mulholland Drive with the ODing actress being Jennifer Symes who died in a car accident while drunk and on drugs. However, nothing else seems to fit.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Who has been in Candie's ads - Lea Michelle, Britney, Hayden Panettiere, Vanessa Hudgens, Jenny McCarthy. My guess is Hayden Panettiere.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Just to throw in a couple more B-listers with unique voices, what about Anna Faris or Leslie Mann?

    ReplyDelete
  105. Oh, sorry. I had always thought it was Groening for some reason. I guess I heard the discussion of money from The Simpsons and I became dazzled at thr thought. That's a lot of donuts!

    ReplyDelete
  106. @Amber
Jennifer Tilly was married to Sam Simon and NOT Matt Groening. Sam Simon developed the Simpsons for Fox.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Not for nothing but Uma and Jennifer worked on another movie, with RDJ too.

  108. One of Abbie Cornish's first big roles was with Heath ledger in a movie called " candy". The famous for something else would have been her affair with Ryan Philippe.

    Just a thought.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Why do I feel like the award winning actress is Kim Bassinger and the touched A list is Mickey Rourke?

    ReplyDelete
  110. What about Fantasia Barino for the maybe OD/suicide? Jennifer Hudson might fit for the A-lister. Would Jamie Foxx or Eddie Murphy fit?

That's all I got. I need a flow chart to follow this blind.

  111. Could it be Julia Roberts?

At first I thought no way, but a lot of it fits. The wording about the "pimp" is a big clue.

The first movie could have been Steel Magnolias that she won a best actress award for from the HFPA. Her name would have also been out there for dating Southerland. I think her starring role in the second film was Pretty Woman.

It seems people here thing you get A list status by buying two bottles of shampoo or something.

By the way, I think the easiest clue to follow would be that both A- list actress and A list actor were in BOTH of those movies (if I understood all that convoluted mess correctly).

    ReplyDelete
  113. Naomi Watts was in the Random Photos today.

    A-list actress: Naomi Watts
    Movie: Mulholland Dr
    Director: David Lynch
    Producer Neal Edelstein
    Second movie: The Ring

But it's missing the A-list actor, and wasn't she the lead in M. Dr? The BI implies she was not.

  117. OK, this has been bothering me for a couple weeks now: what I want to know is WHY is everyone so sex hungry out there?

It's not like you can't get decent-looking pussy or ass (or whatever) ANYwhere else, from ANY one else, especially if you are remotely involved "in the industry."

What is UP with everyone demanding sex from everyone else?

I truly just do not get it.

Does everyone crave VD or what? Or just want to SPREAD it?

    It's really sick.

    ReplyDelete
  118. None of this fits for Julia Roberts. There are no Producer connections between Steel Mag and Pretty Woman. After Steel Mag she didn't need to sleep around to get a part.

This still seems to point to the Dazed and Confused scenario.

    ReplyDelete
  119. Ok, one more to add to the heap-not sure if it has been mentioned yet.

Natasha Lyonne-distinctive voice. OD/Suicide attempt. Starred in Sugar & Spice. Later starred in Slums of Beverly Hills with Mena Suvari.

Both starred in American Pie together. Role they were up for---American Beauty, which came out the same year. American Beauty won Academy Award for Best Picture.

Stan Wlodowski produced both Slums of BH and American Beauty.

Not sure who the A List Actor would be.

Might be worth noting that Enty loved Mena for the way she treated his father when they met, but all of a sudden his distaste for her has become apparent for some unknown reason...maybe due to finding out this info?!

    ReplyDelete
  120. Doesn't this indicate the woman would be dead? Suicide not suicide attempt?

  121. I think it's about power, not sex. Just like in politics, the money and fame of Hollywood attract a ton of people with personality disorders to the profession. I actually had just posted some articles on my blog explaining psychopathic narcissistic personality disorder; understanding these creeps is a passion of mine because it was the subject of my first feature film a few years ago.

I feek so thrilled that Enty is addressing these rings! They're quite famous in L.A., and I was afraid that Enty might only care about protecting children. But the kids getting abused is systemic of all of this behavior - towards twinks at the gay pool parties who get kicked to the curb on their 25th b-day; and actresses who are forced to leave town or engage in "Producer's Rights", the old school slang term for the producer's right to bang the leading lady because he funded the film.

What I normally hear about these sex circles is that a producer will pass a new actress on to each of his friends until she's looped through a dozen or so, then they blacklist her and kick her out of Hollywood without the role they promised. Cue laughter.

  122. Mena doesn't fit because she isn't "A- list actress nominee/winner of the biggest award". The only Oscar nominees/winners in the photos today are Naomi Watts and Halle Berry. I can't find movie or producer credits that fit for Halle. This happened on one of the A list actress' first movies, which had a skeevy almost A list at one point actor. I tried to find an actress through producer credits. Richard Linklater from Dazed and Confused didn't directly go into another production.

I want to make 21 Grams fit because it had Danny Huston (going back to the bad Hollywood families) and Sean Penn but the producers don't fit. ARGH!

    ReplyDelete
  123. Long time lurker, first time poster here.

Because of the wording at the start, I think a-list actress was already acting (probably tv), just not in movies; there seems to be a bit of emphasis on starting out in/first movie.

I also think her friend and the drug addled actor are different people. Friend was just on way to becoming a star (think it was the producer who had actress sleep with everyone else). Actress probably only had a bit part in his movie because it sounds like it was already in production.

I think the producer and actress hold they key - actress had a part in one film and high billing in his next film.

Hollywood really can be a vile place.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Sex=Power.

Come on. It's not like Hollywood encourages acting skills in women. Movies have crap roles for females. All the good directors go overseas now for female leads in any of their quality films. They don't want the excessive posing and stripper acting skills of the primed and willing U.S. actresses.

Producers entice investors with a taste of a starlet. Actors make exclusive connections with directors by offering pretty actresses.

Women are a form of currency in Hollywood, one that Hmmmm himself seems to have reveled in if you read his whole compendium. Why he gets a pass for being "in recovery", is a mystery. He still seems awfully boastful and exuberant in his memories. Nice guy. Great friend, too, if you don't mind being sacrificed in the name of blood-down-the-leg gossip. That is, if he is a friend...

Older, non-Disney aged, U.S. actresses with any talent are flooding TV shows right now. Not much films can offer them anymore.

I say the sooner Hollywood movies convert all female roles to CGI, the better. Quit the pretense that movies offer any opportunities for actresses anymore. It's over and done.

  125. I'm VERY confused, but I'm still going with some combination of: Reese Witherspoon, Mark Wahlberg, Brittany MIurphy and the movies Freeway, Fear and Legally Blonde, being that the last two have a common producer, pimp references Markie's Boogie Nights work, Brittany had a whole voice acting career and Reese is a candy.

But this blind is not clear to me, so who knows.

But to dangle fame in front of good looking gals/guys and make them bark (etc...) for it, total power trip. No matter how dorky/schlubby/unattractive you are, you can have almost anyone you want (most people will do anything to "make it" in HWood).

  132. I'm coming to this party late, and I haven't done any research yet to make a final guess, but I do think Joey Lauren Adams or Jennifer Tilly are involved. Weren't they both in some of Kevin Smith's movies? I could see something like this taking place on the set of "Chasing Amy". Ben Affleck was the star of that movie. I know it's kind of a joke that Ben Affleck is the answer to every blind, but he may really be this time. Like I said I haven't finished doing my research, but I do know that Kevin Smith used the same actors and actresses in many of his movies. Plus there were bound to be lots of drugs on the set with "Jay" (I can't think of his real name) on set.

  134. I think this is Geena Davis. She went from fluff like Earth Girls are Easy to winning an Oscar in Accidental Tourist(you don't manage that without screwing someone). The connection is Jeff Goldblum. Jeff worked with and dated Geena on the Fly and Earth Girls are Easy, prior to that he worked with William Hrt and Lawrence Kasdan in the Big Chill so could have put a word in for Geena and told Geena to sleep with the guys for the role. William Hurt is known for sleeping with co stars. I don't know who the B list or the dead actress are though.

  138. Producer slept with both A and B during Movie 1, then gave A the lead in Movie 2. A and B were both in Movie 1. A had gotten onto Movie 1 by sleeping with Actor and Director.

While shooting Movie 2, Producer tried to sleep with A again, but A was getting buzz for something else (movie, TV show, something else entertainment, we don't know) and put off his advances. Overdose ended up sleeping with Producer and others, then died. Overdose might not have been known at all. Actor had slept with Overdose and gotten her on Movie 2, though we don't know if Actor was also in Movie 2.

A won an Oscar (lead or supporting? -- "biggest" would imply lead). So we need to find:

    1. An Oscar-winning actress,
    2. who had an early supporting role in a movie by Producer, and then
    3. starred in a movie by Producer, and
    4. had unrelated success around that same time (probably during the shooting of Movie 2).

This is a weird one, but it could be Nicole Kidman:

    1. Bit part in Flirting.
    2. Lead in Dead Calm.
    3. Those movies share three producers.
    4. Dead Calm was around the time she came stateside for Days of Thunder.
    5. Thandie Newton could be said to have a distinctive voice (maybe), and starred in Flirting. Naomi Watts also had a bit part in that, and didn't star in anything until much later.
    6. Does Noah Taylor have a drug rep? I don't know. Could have said to have knocked on the door of A? Yeah, he was a big deal in Shine.

The blind doesn't say that B slept with the Director of Movie 1, but Thandie Newton did sleep with John Duigan, the director of Flirting, while making that movie.

  155. Seriously ya'll. Reading Himmmm's comments he said that 80% of female stars "eat at the Y" for roles in Hollywood so I don't think it's just men who indulge in heinous sexual extortion these days. Trading sex for favors, sex with friends for influence and an ego trip is abhorant behavor of both sexes. I am sure there are plenty of cute guys that put out for the men in power just like the femals do.

And the debauchery of the pedophiles in Hollywood is beyond despicable. But apparently everyone in HWood is privy to these stories and does business with each other anyway.

The fact that Sharon Stone, Nicole Kidman, Reece or whoever else is A list today would demean themselves to have sex on demand to get a job - and then have sex with the boss's friends to keep their job, is appalling and shows them to be less than the strong women they pretend to be in their interviews with Oprah and the like. They have ALL sold their souls for starring roles and celebrity and it is indefensible that they stand by while innocent victims keep being fed into the Hollywood Machine.

Resident drug addicted actor on the FIRST MOVIE: Jack Black (you have to admit it *would* be hilarious to see CZJ and Jack Black together ;) )

    ReplyDelete
  161. I don't think the actress at the end actually died - I think it is someone who had a drug overdose, and there was speculation as to whether it was accidental or a suicide attempt. That implies that the OD was public enough for there to be speculation.

So, someone like Carrie Fischer or Demi Lovato or someone who had an OD of some sort but didn't die.

    ReplyDelete
  162. I don't think this is Nicole Kidman or Naomi Watts. Nicole appeared in BMX Bandits and assorted other stuff in Australia, and Naomi Watts appeared in Flirting. The first movies people are listing aren't their actual first movies.

Anyway, I think this is Renee Zellweger/Joey Lauren Adams/Matthew McC. However, I am wondering if Enty is fudging some of the info. If you look at the IMDB entries for Renee Zellweger around that time, the same producers did work on some of her movies from 1994, specifically Danny DeVito (!) and Michael Shamberg (8 Seconds and Reality Bites).

Also, for those saying that Dazed & Confused was a nothing movie, the director was actually very up and coming then. Richard Linklater had previously directed Slacker.

  168. I don't think the movie is Mulholland Drive, as it was originally made as a tv pilot a couple of years earlier and just had some additional filming done to make it into the final movie.

The only way it would fit in is if someone, who wasn't in the pilot, had a small part in the movie and went on to have a big role in one of the producers' next movie.

I still have no idea who anyone is - every time I think I'm onto something, one of the pieces won't fit.

    ReplyDelete
  169. This is driving me round the bend. I think I have looked up every conceivable actress who won or was nominated for Best Actress and a few Supporting Actresses. I cannot get anyone to fit.

Admittedly, the wording is complicated but this is how I interpreted it:

    -MOVIE A-
    1) A- list actress --early role, must be a relatively small role if she turned up on set and the film was already cast.
    2) Once A list actor--lead or large supporting role
    3) Director -- slept with actress
    4) Producer--slept with actress, then gave her a LEAD role in his next film
    5) Druggy Actor-- in film, one of the other men she was passed along to.
    6) Unusual Voice Actress -- also in film, solid B lister now

    -MOVIE B-
    1) A- list Actress--lead role (shot around time another of her films hit the media and made some kind of impact)
    2) Unknown Actress--treated badly when A- list actress was beyond being handed around. May have OD'd or just attempted it. Somehow connected to Once A list actor from MOVIE A.
    3) Same producer as MOVIE A

And I still have no idea. I even resorted to looking up Kate Winslet, Julianne Moore and Sandra Bullock. Nothing.

  173. 1A list actress nominee/winner of the biggest award...academy award

2.Actor/Friend of A list actress had touched the A list

    3. Director likes A list Actress and wants her in his movie the actor friend asks the A list actress if maybe she could sleep with Director (who had just broken up with his girlfriend) ( I think this Director must have had a famous girl friend since the word girl friend is underlined...I think this is a major clue...clue #1

    4. A list Actress then had sex with producer on the movie so she could get the lead in his next film and after she did this she overheard the same producer offer the same deal to another actress who was a B list actress with a very unique voice.
They meaning the B list actress and producer went to the producers trailer to have sex but emerged a short time later and the producer yelled to the A list actress that she got the part. (I take this to read that the producer had sex with both actresses and A was better at it than B was...) & Actress A got the movie part subject to that she have sex with everyone the Producer wanted to see her with. Subject to is underlined and I think it is clue #2

5.The first movie had a resident drug addicted actor I think is the same actor/friend who got her on the movie set to begin with. Resident Drug is also underlined so maybe that is clue 3

    6. During the shooting of Movie 2 the same producer from Movie 1 tried to play the same game with A list actress and since A list actress was already getting buzz nationwide from something else she was immune to getting passed around again for movie 2....Since the words "to play" and nationwide are both underlined I think they are clues 4 & 5

7 Not so for this other actress in the movie who was also brought on board by the A list actor from the first movie under a similar situation. I think this person is actress B from the first movie who had already slept with the producer but did not get the lead part. This actress lasted about a week being passed around and overdosed some think it was suicide some think it was accidental either way this actress was not a drug user before that week of being passed around.

I think it is 2 actresses one actor and the director and producer. I think it would be beneficial to look for a movie where an actress died of drugs before the filming was completed.

I have no clues as to who these people are but I am sad for the actresses and am curious to know. I hope and pray the actor, director and producer get outed...

  174. I don't think Jennifer Syme is a correct answer
    Wikipedia info: Jennifer Syme....
"Jennifer Maria Syme (December 7, 1972 – April 2, 2001) was an American actress and production assistant. She was best known for her relationship with actor Keanu Reeves."

"Born in Pico Rivera, California, which is located right outside of Los Angeles, Syme lived in Pico Rivera for 18 years. Shortly after moving to Los Angeles, she landed a job working for director David Lynch. Syme had a few minor film roles including a part in Lynch's Lost Highway. She later joined the staff of a music label."

    Death

"On April 1, 2001, Syme attended a party at musician Marilyn Manson's home. After being driven home by another party guest shortly before dawn, she left her home, reportedly to return to Manson's home at his request. On the morning of April 2, 2001, Syme drove her 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee into a row of parked cars on Cahuenga Boulevard in Los Angeles. She was ejected from the vehicle and died instantly. Syme was 28 years old."

"Syme is buried next to her daughter Ava, stillborn in December 1999, in Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery in Los Angeles."

    Aftermath

"In tribute to Syme's memory, David Lynch dedicated the 2001 film Mulholland Drive to her."

"In April 2002, Syme's mother, Maria St. John, sued Marilyn Manson for wrongful death for giving Syme "various quantities of an illegal controlled substance" and for "instructing [Syme] to operate a motor vehicle in her incapacitated condition". Shortly after the lawsuit was filed, Manson issued a statement denying responsibility for Syme's death, stating that the lawsuit was "completely without merit"."

"An investigation into the accident concluded that Syme, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was inebriated at the time of the accident. Reports also stated that police found two rolled up dollar bills that contained a white, powdery substance and two bottles of prescription drugs, a muscle relaxant and an anticonvulsant.[1] Syme's mother told police her daughter was seeking treatment for back pain and depression just a few days prior to her death."

She was ruthless in "Freeway" and I'd believe that Vanessa Lutz would have been passed around like candy, lol. Perhaps Brittany Murphy said no to the sex. She had a weird voice. No idea who died and it seems like that actress was an unknown anyway, so it may be hard to find any info on her. She could have quickly been replaced before the news could break.

If Reese did this for "Freeway" and went on to do "Fear" I get lost because I would have never seen Brittany Murphy as a choice for Marky Mark's interest in that movie anyway. And I'm too tired to even google if some actress died during the filming of that movie. It's all probably wrong anyway.

This blind is hard. I can't even keep the clues straight.

  176. @- ... interesting guesses. Why do I get the feeling it's more than a guess?

  177. Long time lurker. First time poster.

In this blind from 2011 Enty writes about the Disney Girl being passed around like Candy. He says the girl´s now with a Saudi prince who had a crush on her during her disney days and now pays a fortune to be whith her. Kind of fits the whole Himmmm, Hayden Pannetiere, Diana Jenkins, Room 23 business. I think the A-list actress is Hayden.

  178. Just wanted to add that the timeline probably isn't going to fit 100%. Himmmm said during the KD/DB blind that the timeline was fudged and stick to the other clues. So, perhaps this is Richard Linklater and Dazed and Confused. I am also liking the Salma/Desperado guess.

I'm so glad I didn't let my daughter model. I'd be in jail if some fuckwad did something to her. And it would be worth it.

  179. KD/DB? Posting too early obviously. You know what I mean.

  180. I guess I'm cynical but I don't understand trading sex for anything on the honor system. what's to keep the people making promises from not keeping their word?

  181. I have no idea how people have sex with someone they don't care for. Just seems insane to me. But I have some guy friends in Hollywood who've had sex with thousands of people, so maybe it's only insane to most women? I don't know. I really don't get it. One of those differences between the sexes that really hurts me. I guess I missed Himmmm's post about women doing it to women too. Ugh, I don't know why I'm in this town. Hopelessly naive thinking someone will hire me because they like me work.

Dia Papaya, <3! I'll wear a superhero cape!

Jasmine, that's hysterical. I bet you're right that it's written confusing on purpose. At least he didn't put it through an online Tedspeak translator (How fun would that be? Anyone out there have programming skills to make one?).

You guys are really amazing. Such incredible detective work. Sadly, I'd believe so many of these scenarios that I have no clue.

Enty, your people are working hard~ throw us a random photo, dude! :)

  182. The a-list actress doesn't need to have won an Oscar. It says "winner/nominee."

  183. Sadly, I totally get sleeping with people you don't care about, or even know. I was a screwed up, teenage blackout drunk with a hot bod and major Daddy issues. Sex is one way to get your fix, but just like any other fix, it's short-lived and unsatisfying.

I am the luckiest, happiest soccer mom on the planet. My wonderful hubs taught me about unconditional love and loving myself.

And somehow I escaped that life with clean blood tests, too. Incredibly lucky.

  184. After researching Kevin Smith's films, I will withdraw my guess. While those movies work as far as having same producers and many of the same actors/actresses and there were drug addicts (the guy who played Jay) on the set of many of them, they don't fit because not a single one of his films had an unknown actress that later went on to become A-list. All the actresses in his films were either already famous or never really rose above the B-level.

The Charlize and Reese guesses are interesting. Wasn't Reese's first movie role "Twilight"? I think that was the name of the movie. It had huge stars in it, Paul Newman, Susan Sarandon, Gene Hackman, etc . . . I can't think of who some of the younger stars were off the top of my head, but I think they were, or became, big names, too. I know she was only 18 or 19 in that movie and in her first scene she was totally, full-frontal nude. But I think her part in the film was too big to have shown up on the set after filming began. That part would have been cast early on.

  185. @RJ Reese was in The Man in the Moon with Jason London in 1991. Also, Twilight was after Freeway and Fear.

  186. 1. I think A list actress is Sarah Michelle Gellar (Prinze)The highest award is a Emmy which she won for her work on the soap opera "All My Children" when she was 18 yrs old.

    2. Ryan Phillippe who at around the same time was on the soap opera "One Life To Live"

Both were in the movie "I Know What You Did Last Summer" (1997)the Director was Jim Gillespie. The producer Neal H. Mortiz.... *Freddie Prinze, Jr.was also in this movie he began dating Sarah Michelle Gellar in 2000 they married in 2002

Movie #2 was Cruel Intentions Neal H. Moritz producer. Sarah Michelle Gellar(Prinze)Lead Role, Ryan Phillippe is in this movie too.

    3. Not sure who the resident drug addicted actor is altho Sarah Michelle Gellar has a interesting quote on her info page "I am militant about drugs. You want to do 'em? You're out of my life."

    4. I think the national attention was for " "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" (1997)

    5. I don't know the actress who died of a drug overdose etc.

  187. DontRainOnMyPrada, but the movies people are describing for Watts and Kidman are not even their first movies. They are the first movies people are familiar with.

    ReplyDelete
  188. Reese Witherspoon starting with S.F.W. (1994) which co-stared Stephen Dorff (with whom Who Dated Who says she had a relationship in 1994), co-staring Joey Lauren Adams of unique voice and all round wild guy Jake Busey. In 1995 she gained widespread attention dating Mark Wahlberg in his Marky Mark phase. In her next movie, Freeway (1996), she was the lead with Keifer Sutherland and her co-stars included Brittany Murphy.

  189. @Daveb The only thing I'm not finding are links between producers of any of her movies around that time period. Maybe I'm missing something, though. The producer was on movie 1 and movie 2.

  190. @ Amber- exactly what I was going to say. Like the Reese guess because:

    1. Reese = candy

    2. Reese won the Oscar for Walk the Line.

Now I have got to get some real work done!

    ReplyDelete
  191. @Amber, thanks for reminding me about Reese's earlier movies. I feel like an idiot for forgetting them, especially "The Man in the Moon". I really liked that one. I like her as the candy.

    ReplyDelete
  192. What about Charlize Theron? She played a character named Candy in "The Cider House Rules" and "Waking Up in Reno".

I'll have to do more research to find out the rest of this blind.
