It has been a long time since I had a post anything and plug anything Your Turn so have at it. Garage sales, bands, recipes, websites, your showcase or whatever else you want to tell everyone who reads this site. Have at it.
2 tsp cream of tartar 2 cups sugar 1 3/4 cups water 36 ritz crackers, coarsely broken Zest and 2 tbsp juice from a lemon 2 tbsp butter or margarine, in small pieces 1/2 tsp cinnamon 2 9 inch pie crusts
Mix sugar and cream of tartar in saucepan, and add water. Bring this to a boil on high, then simmer for 5 minutes or until reduced to 1 1/2 cups. Stir in lemon zest and juice, then remove from heat and cool at least 30 minutes. Crumble the crackers into the pie crust, pour the sugar syrup over the crackers. Top with butter, cinnamon, and the other pie crust. Flute the top crust, seal the edges. Bake at 425 for 30-35 minutes
Made one if these the other day, came out amazing. Old family recipe
I think this is a WONDERFUL idea, Enty! I am going to sound grumpy here, but I get irritated when reading the comments on here and then at the end of some comments, there will be a plug for some online store or something. It is a pet peeve of mine. I get that you want to advertise your business, but can't they just put it in their profile? Not trying to start stuff, just saying.
I don't have anything to plug other than I love the idea of a centralized location for all the things CDAN readers have to advertise. :)
Anyway, my cooking blog has more than 500 recipes, including tons of Vietnamese dishes if you're looking for authentic recipes such as for pho or egg rolls. All my original recipes, although I do sometimes adapt others.
And if you're in SoCal, a few hundred dining out posts too.
There's a smattering of travel and gardening stuff, but it's mainly food.

I know I'm a latecomer to this, but I'm obsessed with pinterest.com. It's like "liking" shit on facebook, and finding out what your friends like, too -- but you don't have to deal with passive aggressive status updates, complaints about maladies, vivid descriptions of diaper contents, and pictures of what people ate for dinner. It's GLORIOUS.
I'd also like to recommend a few hilarious podcasts for your walking/driving/whatever pleasure:
You Had to Be There How Was Your Week? WTF? with Mark Maron How Did This Get Made?
And yes, habitual spammers -- and you KNOW who you are -- get your jollies out now, please. The more you post links to your fucking Etsy page, the more inclined I am to NEVER visit it. Just sayin.'

Thanks fellow CDaner's! I now have some more stuff to look up on the iPad my husband didn't think he'd use & now we are pathetic iPad addicts. I grew up pre-Internet, how did I become a tech addict?
