Four For Friday - The Girl Who Got Pregnant
As is the case every Friday, I like to direct you towards my Twitter which is over on the right somewhere. Usually I use the little -----------> thing, but I thought I would be different today. Counting down to 4:20 and all that. Oh, you thought. No, that is when I get to leave work today. Anyway, on my Twitter I have blinds that I don't have on the site. I had one this morning as a matter of fact. Oh, and here on the site on Saturdays I reveal a blind from my archive.
This show was on a few years ago, but most the leads in the show are all working still and are solid B- listers. It was a modest hit show which was part of a hit night for a network. Yes, a network. Not an almost network or cable, but a network. It was supposed to be good family fun, but behind the scenes were some truly nasty things going on. The object of the entire mess was this teen who has not really done anything since because she was so traumatized by what happened. When she first came to the show she got involved with one of the actors on the show who was slightly older than her. He was experienced and she was not. He was really into drugs and she was not, but she thought he was the greatest and in love and they had sex all the time. While this was going on, one of the older actors on the show also wanted the teen. She thought of him like a father figure, but he wanted to be more than a dad. Well, one day he had way too much to drink and came on to the teen. She didn't want it, but she also didn't want to get fired so went along with sex. To this day she refuses to eat the food she was eating right before this happened and has a loathing for the cologne he was wearing. When she told her "boyfriend" about it he blamed her. When she told this B- list actress on the show about it, the actress told her to never tell anyone and that kind of thing happens and it had happened to her in the past before she got too big and they couldn't take advantage of her like that anymore. Well, our teen got pregnant. When she talked to her boyfriend, he said it was not his and that she deserved what she got. When she talked to the older actor about it, he said that he was married and had a family and none of this could come out. He then had his assistant make an appointment for the teen to get an abortion and to make sure the assistant went and made sure the procedure was completed. About three days after the procedure our teen got a call from the older actor. The teen though it was to apologize or to see how she was doing. Nope. He wanted to know if she wanted to come over to his place for sex.
Married With Children? Applegate? Too many possibilities here.
ReplyDeleteBuffy?
ReplyDeletethat 70s show
ReplyDeleteCan't be Applegate... "this teen who has not really done anything since".
ReplyDeleteGross no guess
ReplyDeleteStill not sure...some girl on Blossom?
ReplyDelete"Just Shoot Me"
ReplyDeleteModerate success (its in syndication now)
Most of the people on the show have gone on to do other TV shows that are on cable.
Not enough still working B-listers from Blossom.
ReplyDeleteBuffy was on the almost network.
ReplyDeleteJust Shoot Me was also on NBC Thursday night must see tv.
ReplyDeleteHappy days
ReplyDeleteThe O.C.? Mischa Barton...?
ReplyDeleteGreat guess
DeleteA family-ensemble sitcom, which one?
ReplyDeleteSo it was a show on during a hit block of shows and not the main hit, but reasonably good ratings. Like Parks and Rec, The Office and 30 Rock for example, right? What family show could that have been? I am stumped.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to everyone's guesses!
8 Simple Rules - was part of ABC's TGIF. I think the teen was Amy Davidson, the older guy was David Spade and the actress who gave her advise was Katey Sagal. Not sure who the boyfriend is.
ReplyDeleteThat 70's Show did not pop into my head as I read this but there could be a connection between that show and today being 4/20. Enty even made a reference to the number at the beginning and there was the reoccurring smoke circle scenes on the show.
ReplyDeleteLacey Chabert from "Party of Five" for the teen? Not sure if it was on a network though, I didn't watch that show at all, but we haven't seen anything of her since.
ReplyDeleteThe only problem is I don't know if the rest of the cast are considered B-listers.
For some reason the show that popped in my mind is Step by Step...
ReplyDeleteBoy Meets World
ReplyDeleteRoseanne?
ReplyDeletewith the first Becky and remember when Tom Arnold was on that show?
everyone on that show is still pretty famous.
just realized there were no teenage girls in just shoot me
ReplyDeleteThinking this is a show about a family...Gilmore Girls, Grounded for Life, My wife and kids...something like that?
ReplyDelete@Thea
ReplyDeleteLacey Chabert was in Mean Girls.
Whatever the show is, that is a pretty lousy way to treat someone. Poor girl.
ReplyDeleteStep by Step's a good guess. It was part of ABC's Friday night block.
ReplyDeleteYoung actor: Sasha Mitchell
Older actor: Patrick Duffy
Older actress: Suzanne Somers
Teen: Staci Keenan
Family Ties?
ReplyDeleteJustine Bateman - Teen Girl
Michael J Fox - Slighty Older Actor
Michael Gross - Older Actor
Meredith baxter - Older Actress
You can't have sex after an abortion, the procedure is too rough on your body. It's like having sex after giving birth. I have a hard time believing the last bit..
ReplyDelete@ Jo - thought of that, but Spade wouldn't have been married with a family.
ReplyDeleteThe only problem with Step by Step is that I would say only Somers and Duffy could possibly be considered B Listers.
ReplyDeleteHeroes? Heyden, Milo, Larter and an old guy?
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts too Adrian pasdar for old guy
DeletePlainJane- I can believe he "asked", it does not say she actually granted his request
ReplyDeleteWith Step by Step though, I wasn't thinking Staci Keenan, but the other girl with the long dark hair...
ReplyDeleteWhere are all the still working B- listers from Step by Step?
ReplyDeleteFamily Ties was more than a modest hit.
I still don't have anything to offer though.
Don't think it's Roseanne or Family Ties - those were more than modest hits for their networks.
ReplyDeleteScratch my guess... Sasha Mitchell was married most of the time he was on Step by Step.
ReplyDelete@ Sue Ellen - WOW, I totally didn't recognize her in Mean Girls!! Okay, Party of Five is out...
ReplyDelete@ PlainJane - I don't think the older actor cared whether it would be rough on her body or not to have sex with him. He clearly is too selfish to give a crap.
@Cake it says he's married with a family, so he would be no stranger to the whole no sex after giving birth thing. (or ending a preg in this case). That's the issue I had, believing he'd call that soon for that purpose.
ReplyDeleteThe girl who plays Karen in step by step works since she only did two things.
ReplyDeleteThis had to be a show that was on NBC Thursdays, Fox Sundays or ABC Fridays which were must see tv days on those real networks.
ReplyDeleteAt least, it's not:
ReplyDeleteArrested Development
Teen actress: Alia Shawkat
Young actor: Michael Cera
Father figure/analrapist: David Cross
B- actress: Jessica Walter
For a simple reason: Cross wouldn't wear cologne.
@Jo - 8 Simple Rules is a great guess.
ReplyDeleteFreaks and Geeks comes to mind. It was only on one year but developed a huge following (myself included). Most of the stars of that show are bigger stars now: James Franco, Busy Phillips, Linda Cardellini, Jason Segall, Seth Rogan...
ReplyDeleteSarah Hagan or Natasha Melnick could be the teen... But now I'm starting to lean towards Step By Step...
Family Ties/Tina Yothers/Marc Price (Skippy)/MJF?
ReplyDeleteWonder Years, Winnie?
ReplyDelete**I meant 8 Simple Rules. lol. Not Step by Step
ReplyDeleteFull House!
ReplyDeleteIt was on ABC (network) and part of the Friday night (I think) lineup.
Teen: Jodie Sweetin a likely choice because her life has been a train wreck since the show, perhaps because of all this awful stuff? MAYBE Candace Cameron ... the older actress is Lori Laughlin, who is a seasoned actress and probably knows this awful stuff happens on the set.
First actor: John Stamos. Second one: Bob Saget?
These blinds that involve actors drinking, etc. on set at studios always set off my BS alarm. I did the struggling actor thing for a few years in LA. Started out doing extra work, then got small speaking parts once I got my SAG card. In the process I must have have been on hundreds of sets, location and studio. I saw people hung over, but not a lot. People don't have the opportunity for this type of behavior. You're busy with assistant directors, hair, makeup, wardrobe, etc. Then you shoot your scenes and go home. No one hangs around after they've shot their scenes. Its not a relaxed party atmosphere. Its a grind. Take it for what its worth. That was my experience.
ReplyDelete@PlainJane, you do have a point however this asshole obviously has no concept of anyone other than himself.
ReplyDeleteThe problem with 8 Simple Rules and Amy Davidson is that she's not a teen. She's 32. Even when the show was on she was in her mid 20s. She's one of those weird older actors that plays a teenager.
ReplyDeleteHeroes.
ReplyDeleteLittle Hayden P.
Maybe the daughter on the George Lopez show?
ReplyDeleteAfter blinds have been revealed, has anyone ever gone back through that day's pictures to see if they do indeed include the person revealed?
ReplyDeleteI hope that made sense.
I plan to! Does that count? :)
Deletei like the 8 simple rules guess. boyfriend could be one of the boys the girls dated on the show. older guy can't be david spade bc he's not married, but it could be john ritter (nooooo), james garner (noooo/ewwww) or dan cortese (my pick if i had to bet).
ReplyDeleteI also thought of Lacey Chabert from Party of Five when reading this but according the IMDb she has been doing movies and shows. I didn't watch this show but what about the blonde in Seventh Heaven? With Jessica Biel being the older actress?
ReplyDeleteDon't know who it is but I hope somebody kicks both these guys in the balls.
ReplyDeleteLike bnl1016 said, Amy Davidson was in her early- to mid-twenties during 8 Simple Rules AND she and Kaley Cuoco have both continued to work this entire time. I don't think this show fits at all (and I just can't believe that John Ritter could be that terrible guy).
ReplyDelete@ k8 - I thought of 7th Heaven too, but I ruled it out because I don't think any of the other cast members could be deemed solid B-listers.
ReplyDeletehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Must_See_TV
ReplyDeletehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TGIF_(ABC)
My guess....The Nanny?
The o.c.?
ReplyDeleteMischa Barton
Benjamin Mckensie
Peter Gallagher
Melinda Clarke
^ I was trying to make this fit too, but it doesn't, there weren't any bigger actresses to tell Mischa that it happened to her before she got big enough, and Mischa does actually have a decent number of credits since then.
ReplyDeleteI like the Heroes guess.
ReplyDeleteHayden P.
Younger actor: Milo V.
Older actor/father figure: Jack Coleman
Actress: Ali Larter
@ hairydawg - You MUST be a UGA grad.
ReplyDeleteGooooo DAWGS!
Seriously what is the deal? Do you have to be a grade A douche to work in hollywood? I get that grand douchery isn't exclusive to actors, but it sure seems to an epidemic in those circles.
ReplyDeleteI have no clue about the show, but a "few years" ago to me would suggest something around 2008-2009. OC is out because it wasn't network. Big night would suggest it had to be a Thursday night as that is the coveted night in TV.
Nothing suggest so far though, has given me an ah ha moment. Would love for some of these douche bags to be revealed to stop them from doing it again.
There really are too many options for this one.
ReplyDeleteThe O.C.
Blind: Mischa Barton
Younger actor: Ben McKenzie
Older actor/father figure: Peter Gallagher or Tate Donovan
Actress: Melinda Clarke.
Too many options I think this one is unsolveable folks
amanda bynes
ReplyDeletewhat i like about you
jennie garth
simon rex/dan cortese?
Man...I was thinking way further back, like The Cosby Show, or something like that. There really are too many family sitcoms to pick from.
ReplyDeleteAn older guy forces himself on a teenage girl, then pressures her into getting an abortion, and has her physically escorted there. I doubt he would really care if how she was recovering when trying to get sex or bother with details about how long after you give birth before you can DTD.
ReplyDeleteThe OC and Heroes don't really fit the "good family fun" description.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if the details fit but while I was reading along I thought of Melissa Joan Hart in Sabrina, the Teenage Witch.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure who the other actors were and if they are still working, other then Carline Rhea.
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDelete@Rose, I wasn't implying he cares. Just that she's out of service at the moment and he would know that and not even bother. Like how when it's the time of the month guys avoid you like the plague. He, being a selfish arse, would have no use for her while she's recovering.
ReplyDelete7th Heaven for the show?
@anita_mark: that would be a good investigation to conduct, but I suspect it wouldn't yield anything definitive because the blinds that he tends to reveal are never the juicy ones like this. So who knows if he really puts photo clues on the very incendiary blinds that will never be revealed.... ???
ReplyDeleteMy first thought was Growing Pains: Kirk Cameron for the sex and drugs before he got all religious and Alan Thicke for the pig. But the rest of the details don't fit so I'm posting my guess only to rule it out.
ReplyDeleteReba. was on the WB/CW
ReplyDeleteBlind: Scarlett Pomers. Hasn't done anything since.
Steve Howey: slightly older guy
JoAnna Garcia
Christopher Rich: old guy
Honestly, these are starting to give me a headache. They're all clumped together in one paragraph and are so vague it could be anybody.
ReplyDeleteNo clue and as said above too vague. I feel sorry for whoever it was and the actor who did it needs it cut off, but without even a time frame, or a better clue - I have nothing.
ReplyDeleteGuys- "This show was on a few years ago, but most the leads in the show are all working still and are solid B- listers."
ReplyDeleteNot a show that was on 10-15 years ago. I.E Full House, Family Ties, Married w/ Children, Buffy, Party of Five, can't be any of them.
I like the Heroes guess. Hayden, her creepy dad (rumors at the time the show was on that they were a little on the close side), Milo and Ali. FTW.
I like the "Heroes" guess a lot since a lot of the pieces fit and it was never considered to be as big a hit as it was expected to be, but I do agree with whomever said that the blind in question was "supposed to be good family fun" and Heroes wasn't a family show. Although there were families featured on the show. A lot of the plot lines of the show revolved around the family relationships of the different characters (fathers and daughters, mothers and daughters, brothers). Of course, it is also said that the teen in this blind was "not experienced". That would probably rule out Hayden P if we are to believe everything we've heard about her and her family. Sadly, she'd have been pretty experienced by the time she was on Heroes.
ReplyDeleteI like @.'s guess about Reba ... mostly because I noticed that Scarlett Pommers was starting to look really unwell as she got a bit older - I actually wondered if she had an eating disorder or something.
ReplyDeleteThis is bloody awful though - I think I've said this before, but these blinds should be required reading for anyone considering a career in Hollywood. Blech ...
OMG, "Reba" fits. Scarlett Pomers left the show for treatment for anorexia, which would explain Enty's weird mention of her not eating what she was eating that day, plus it might explain the ED from the trauma. I like Christopher Rich, so I'd hate to think he did this. :-(
ReplyDeleteWho is protecting these young actresses, and why wouldn't the older one protect her at least? Is fame and money and a career that important that you wouldn't do what's right? And what in the hell is wrong with this industry that is allows all of this depravity?
ReplyDeleteJust checked, and CR is/was married with children.
ReplyDeleteOf course, it also said that Joanna had him officiate her wedding. If he were such a jerk, wouldn't Joanna know -- especially if Scarlett told her -- and would she really want someone like that to officiate her wedding?! Hmm.
Just to add some diversity I'm going to suggest:
ReplyDelete1. Everybody Hates Chris
2. Grounded for Life
3. George Lopez Show
All modest hits that faded away a few years ago with most actors that were on the show still working.
Money, Money, Money and it has been going on since the beginning of the industry. "Father Figure" needs a Bobbin if you ask me. Had I been this girls mother and I found out - it would have been bobbed.
ReplyDeleteReba and the show producers forced Scarlett Pomers to get medical attention because of her anorexia. She was focusing on recovery and helping others with their eating disorders after that and also said she was more interested in music in the one interview I saw with her.
ReplyDeleteHer anorexia was really severe to the point she lost all the baby fat in her face (the stuff most women don't lose until very late teens/20s) and will probably always now look much older than she is.
Ugly Betty...lol
ReplyDeleteReba was also on the WB, an "almost network", not a network as the blind says.
ReplyDeletehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008%E2%80%9309_United_States_network_television_schedule
ReplyDeleteHere is a link to Network Schedules from 2008 (aka a few years ago in my mind)
I don't watch TV but I thought it could help.
OMG this is a horrible story.
ReplyDeleteI don't see a BI on Twitter...am I blind?
ReplyDelete^I thought the same thing - it's in with the Elisabetta Canalis sobriety tweet.
ReplyDeleteI was going to suggest Mae Whitman (Ann Veal) as the teenager (Michael Cera's boring girlfriend Bland) but she has been working a lot since the show. Thought I had it. She is on Parenthood to. Bah.
ReplyDeleteMae Whitman
Michael Cera
Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, David Cross, Tony Hale
Jeffrey Tambor
Actress: Portia de Rossi
I like those actors so much, it can't be them. Back to the drawing board.
Friday Night Lights? I don't know if this is considered family fun. It ain't no Family Matters.
ReplyDeleteI am feeling like it's not Heroes. Aren't there a bunch of rumors that Hayden is a sex maniac? Do we really think that she'd be all upset and filled with remorse about this? Doesn't add up.
ReplyDeleteBlossom, ten :jenna von oy
ReplyDeletefather figure :ted wass
boyfriend: david lascher
older actress: mellisa manchester
According to Jim (isn't Belushi a total dick?), My Wife & Kids
ReplyDeleteWhat about Meagan Fox? She is in today's photos and she was on Hope and Faith.
ReplyDeleteAshley Simspon is to and wasn't she on 7th Heaven for a bit?
show: Raising Dad
ReplyDeleteteen: Kat Dennings, was 15 at the time
younger actor: Riley Smith
older actor: Bob Saget
I keep thinking of Growing Pains and Tracy Gold. Maybe it is the mention of not eating some food.
ReplyDeleteThis isn't Hayden or Megan. They've both worked since their TV shows ended.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why I immediately thought of Lisa Bonet and Cosby Show...
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteThanks spacecowboy! I saw EC's name and skipped right over it.
ReplyDeleteEnty said:
ReplyDeleteThis show was on A FEW YEARS AGO...
(clue #1)
...most of the leads in the show are all working still
(so, it was on and then somewhat recently canceled, because the actors from the show are all working somewhere else)
... of a HIT NIGHT FOR A NETWORK
The only network I watch regularly is NBC, and Thursday night is the night I watch it. What other networks had a night of back-to-back hit shows?
To add to what Em said:
ReplyDelete"a modest hit show"
Some of the shows y'all are naming were absolute mega-hits, not modest hits. "The Cosby Show," "Family Ties," "Growing Pains"? MASSIVE hits, not modest.
In order for the young actress to feel pressured to have sex to keep her job, the older actor would be a producer of the show as well as a star. Otherwise, she could have gone to a producer to complain and to keep her job. Look for shows where the actor was the producer.
ReplyDeleteDoubt it's Adrian Pasdar & Jack Coleman since Milo gave an interview where they were gonna kick his ass for Hayden.
ReplyDeleteSasha Mitchell might have been married but didn't he get in trouble for beating his wife?
The main hints in the blind are that she looked at the older actor as a father figure, and the food issue. The male teen on the show had a rep for drugs.
ReplyDeleteThe older actress said she was pressured until she "got too big," which may mean she became more powerful, grew older, or it may be a hint to us that the older female star of the show was an actress who isn't skinny.
"teen who has not really done anything since"
ReplyDeleteMegan Fox? Kat Dennings? Also, 7th Heaven? The writer is adamant about it not being an almost network show IE: WB/UPN/CW.
I'm drawing a blank though. Maybe Lyndsey Bartilson from Grounded For Life on Fox, she's pretty much disappeared from television, though that may be bevause she has a somewhat unconventional look. Someone from Boy Meets World that isn't Topanga?
TV Show - Roseanne
ReplyDeleteTeen - Alicia Goranson
Slightly older actor into drugs - Glenn Quinn (overdosed)
Older actor/producer - Tom Arnold
Older actress - Roseanne Barr (got bigger - large and in charge)
I am not sure how it is being missed, but he said, "a few years ago," not decades ago. Therefore, Family Ties, Growing Pains, etc are out!!!
ReplyDeleteI am not familiar with hit network nights other than NBC's Thursday night, which they advertised. Therefore, am at a loss.
Kat Dennings has worked steadily in both TV and movies since he first show (she just hasn't had hits that got her a lot of press until her current show). plus that show with Saget wasn't even a moderate hit
ReplyDeleteVague blind item is vague.
ReplyDeleteI give up on this one. Not enough specifics.
Clues:
ReplyDelete-show with at least 2 teens and
-is a family show.
-show was on a few years ago.
-Not a huge hit show, but a modest hit.
-was on during a hit night line up of shows.
-on ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX.
- Girl slept with an older guy on the show who is married.
Rosanne, Married with Children, Growing Pains...these were totally HIT, Big Name shows. The show in question is a moderate hit.
ReplyDelete^^ I like FSP's guess. Alicia Goranson had some unusual behavior that I still remember.
ReplyDelete"modest" hit show - Roseanne was a "modest" family
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteFamily Matters.. Part of the Friday lineup - modest hit.. Major Network, "Family" oriented!
ReplyDeleteThe teenage girl is the one who they ended up getting rid of and who went on to do porn.
Younger actor/boyfriend was Jaleel White.
Older actor was the dad who was also in Die Hard.
Older actress was the Grandma (lol) or the Aunt that was in Bosom Buddies.
^just a joke but hey it could fit!!
Lecy Goranson came BACK to the show after Tom Arnold was gone - remember, at least for the last year or maybe 2? She was in Boys Don't Cry, but little since. It is hard to think of Patrick Duffy being a pig!!! I have never read any bad press about him and would be so sad if it were him. Enty does shift clues around from time to time...could be too easy if it was a "hit" show...and Hope and Faith - the older sister was replaced by Megan Fox, she wasn't the original big sister - though I believe she was in her twenties as well. If not, that would be a decent guess, but I have already admitted my Ted McGinley crush - so please no!! Lol. The younger sister has been Jake's girlfriend on Two and a Half Men this year...
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteMy Two Dads? Greg Evigan? Stacy Keanan? The boyfriend could be Chad Allen or Giovanni Ribisi...not sure who the older actress is though...Lauren Holly was in 2 episodes and there was an older woman who played a judge on the show...
ReplyDelete7th Heaven...WB/CW isn't much of a network...it's just, well, a network
ReplyDelete"This show was on a few years ago, but most the leads in the show are all working still and are solid B- listers."
ReplyDeleteSee, it take this as more than literally a few years - that's it's a show from the 90s or early 2000s, and the leads have careers with some longevity.
I thought of Tracey Gold, that perhaps being treated this way triggered her anorexia, but as was said Growing Pains was more than a 'modest hit'.
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why I read guesses anymore. Does anyone READ the blind or take two seconds to look up their guess on imdb? Cripes. What happened here.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteDidn't Ted C. have a similar blind last year?
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeletewhat part of "real network" dont you people get?
ReplyDeleteso stop with ANY show from fox, the wb, or the cw or upn.
LEARN TO READ
I'm glad 'smallville' is out. Whew
ReplyDeleteShow: Heroes
ReplyDeleteNetwork: NBC
Actress: Hayden Panettiere
Boyfriend actor: Milo Ventimiglia
Older actor: Jack Coleman
Throwing some ideas out there, Dawsons creek? Felicity? Brothers and sisters? For the boyfriend who was just slightly older and obviously into drugs im stuck on Chad Michael Murray.. Y'all remember when people were talking about him maybe dating Elisha Cuthbert and looking reeeally skinny-messed-up around 2007/2008? He was also linked to Paris Hilton which is a sure druggie sign.
ReplyDeleteI feel like liking the slightly older, druggie guy with the actress we haven't seen since is the key to this blind.
Also, maybe Sean Williams Scott as messed up bf? I'm just throwing names out at this point. Which young men in hollywood do we know to have had drug problems/dui's?
"Alicia Goranson had some unusual behavior that I still remember."
ReplyDeleteWhat unusual behavior? Leaving to attend Vassar?! I remember hearing nothing "unusual" said about her or her behavior. And she came back to the show, don't forget.
"Roseanne" was a huge hit show, perhaps one of the most popular of all-time. It was NOT a "modest" hit show, and I think Enty meant that literally, not to refer to the family on the show as "modest." Frankly, "modest" the Conners weren't by any stretch, except for their bank account.
Think smaller show. If a show was EVER in the Top Ten, it is NOT a "modest" hit.
Fox is a real network. Not network would be cable, WB/UPN/CW
ReplyDelete"Family fun" indicates that it may have been on the ABC Friday night lineup "TGIF", and revolving around a family (rather then friends or a workplace)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TGIF_(ABC)
Shows with teenagers & family were:
--Family Matters
--Sabrina
--Step by Step
--Boys Meets World
--Just the Ten of Us (Growing Pains spinoff)
--Full House (DJ & Kimmie were teens by the end of tshows run)
FWIW, I think its Boys Meets World. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boy_Meets_World#Characters
The teen could be Danielle Fishel. IRL, she dated costar Ben Savage.
The older actor: I wouldn't think its William Daniels; but the father was played by William Russ -(married with one son) or Anthony Quinn who played a teacher.
According to the blind: " The object of the entire mess was this teen who has not really done anything since because she was so traumatized by what happened. "
DeleteI think that rules out Danielle, she had (has?) her own show on Style called The Dish.
I read it as Enty saying she wasn't working a lot; not that she hadn't worked at all. So if taken that way, it fits.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes - the Dish was canceled
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteOne detail about the teen I think many of the guesses are overlooking is: "When she first came to the show she got involved with one of the actors..." which, to me, suggests she was a later addition to an existing show/cast.
ReplyDeleteOr am I misinterpreting?
The show in my mind as I read this was in the TGIF lineup, a modest hit in a night of family programming.
ReplyDeleteI had the dark haired girl, Angela Watson in mind as the girl who hasn't done anything since, with the blonde Staci Keanan as the girl with the advice with more fame.
Sasha Mitchell as the uncaring boyfriend, and Patrick Duffy as the "fatherly type", who by the way, also directed the show, therefore actually had power over her role.
Duffy and Summers are still household names and working. Staci Keanan, Christine Lakin, and Sasha Mitchell are all still working with varied but fair amounts of success.
1. A few years ago = like 2005+
ReplyDelete2. Moderately successful = wasn't cancelled the first year
3. NETWORK: NBC, ABC, CBS, or Fox (imo Fox counts except it's not big on family shows)
4. Hit night for THAT network:
5. "Good family fun":
6. At least 2 adult actors, 2 teen actors
7. Most are B-list/working NOW except the teen
Shit, there aren't that many shows that fit those parameters imo! And those that fit have problems (though I didn't go year-by-year, just a few minutes of looking):
"My Name Is Earl" (no teens, cast not mostly currently working)
"Samantha Who" (no teens)
"Ugly Betty" — ???
the Hit Night for network clue makes me think of
ReplyDelete-Sunday for Fox
-Thursday Must See TV for NBC (almost no sitcom family shows except for Cosby & as previously stated was a huge hit, not modest plus it ended 20 years ago)
-TGIF lineup on ABC - loaded with family shows & teenagers.
I think this blind points to ABC b/c of the good family fun clue whether its Boy meets World, Step by Step or any of the others.
This has to be about Family Guy.
ReplyDeleteMeg is the teenage girl.
Bryan was her boyfriend.
Mort Goldman is the married man that got her pregnant.
Trisha Takanawa gave her the advice.
Gotta be Topanga- Boy Meets World.
ReplyDeleteDoes ABC family count?
ReplyDeleteALEXA VEGA has done some stuff since but not a lot..There were rumors she had an eating disorder and if you google "Ruby & the Rockits" it comes back with reviews stating "Ruby & the Rockits is a fun family show"
There was also Life with Bonnie and Samantha Browne-Walters hasnt done anything in tv since...
OMG...this is my 1st time posting but I must say this site proves that Americans are getting dumber by the minute. I don't have a guess but I understand by reading the BI that most of U R WRONG! 1st guess, "The show was on not that long ago. I think that would exclude the 70's, 80's and most of the 90"s. That bring me to my next point or hint. What show from the 70's or 80's have leads that are still solid WORKING B listers till this day??? That right there would exclude 95% of the above guesses. I wouldn't even consider that lesbo from Rosanne that is on The Talk a B-lister
ReplyDeletePlainJane -- rats like OlderActor see an unexpected pregnancy as something that happened to *them* not to the woman. So once his assistant made the pregnancy go away, he saw the girl as available to him again, because he's a sociopath.
ReplyDeleteIt can't be Roseannes show, the time-line is off, and Tom Arnold is rumored to be sterile, so he didn't get anyone on the show pregnant.
ReplyDeleteI take these Blind Items with a grain of salt... mostly read them for Entertainment purposes as most of them just seem made up with just enough information to make there be a number of possibilities. That being said, it's still fun to guess.
ReplyDeleteThis just popped into my head: American Dreams with Brittany Snow being the young teen actress, Will Estes as the slightly older boyfriend, Tom Verica as the older "father" figure, and Gail O'Grady who told her to keep quiet.
This is totally the actress from the George Lopez show. They made some excuse about her not being Hispanic after they wrote her out of the show but there was definitely something going on between her and George Lopez. The actress is named Masiela Lusha,
ReplyDeleteAGC's revealed blind items says that it's Step by Step with the older father-figure being Patrick Duffy who had sex with one of the teenage "daughters" on the show. Suzanne Somers for the older actress who told the teenager not to tell anyone. I stopped watching the new Dallas after I read this. I could puke from looking at Duffy. What a pig. He should have been arrested, consensual sex or not.
ReplyDeleteHow disappointing if it was Duffy. I don't know anything about his private life, but for some reason I have always thought he was a good guy. But I am even more surprised that woman was Suzanne Somers, whom I have always admired. I realize there probably wasn't alot she could do, but having experienced the way young starlets are treated in HWOOD, I would like to think she had more empathy for someone younger (and a co-worker for that matter) and figure out a way to help out or at least offer some support. No woman should have to put up with that shit just because that is the way it has always been done.
