MTV Warned The Situation For Years About His Drinking

TMZ interviewed some MTV and 495 Production people and discovered what I had told you a long time ago - namely the drinking problems for The Situation have been out of control for a long time and they kept encouraging him to cut it down or they would have to replace him. Here is my beef with them. Don't you think that a better solution instead of just telling him to cut back would have been to allow some time in between seasons of shooting where he could actually get some help for the problem. I also think it is kind of disingenuous of the producers to tell him he needs to cut back on his drinking on a show that encourages drinking every second of the day and follows a format where at least 8 minutes of each half hour show is dedicated going to clubs and watching what happens when they all get drunk.

  2. Interesting... but if Sitch is a drunken mess - what does that make Deena and Snooki (pre-pregnancy)?

  3. Very true Enty, very true. I don't believe this line about sitting him down and discouraging his alcohol abuse. I did watch the first season...and the second season....(morbid curiousity, I swear!)and all of the cast seemed to have the same amount of alcohol issues...did they sit everyone down and explain that they didn't want it to be an alcohol-centered show? No because it would take the entire premise away. Either way, this show has been played out for a very long time now...time to end it.

  4. How about rehab or u off the show?? Is that concept too difficult??!! Maybe it wouldnt prevent him from drinking, but at least mtv wldnt be contributing to his problem. Jesus, really? Someone has to articulate the obvious??!!!

  5. They are all drunks and would have been that way without MTV. That's why MTV taped them.

  6. What about John Mayer's bizarre stomach? I think that deserves a mention here.

  7. I feel like I got a STD just from that picture alone.

Isn't the show about a bunch of drunken shitshows? MTV saying they wanted him to get help after he is already in rehab sounds like they are just trying to cover their asses.

  8. "Enty" does not weigh 400 lbs. and doesn't live in his parents' basement:

  9. I don't watch the show, but TMZ seems to be saying that now that the Situation IS in rehab, the show is looking to phase him out by adding new characters.

So, they don't want him there as a drunk, but now that he is trying to sober up, they don't want him either. They basically want a happy party college drunk. Not the aftermath of what becomes of those happy party drunks once they get older and jaded.

  10. So if Enty does Wills and Probate and not entertainment law, does that reveal "MV" as a complete fabrication?

  11. I am old school, but I remember MTV showing music videos and MUSIC programs because the M stands for Music. Now it is shows about the lowest life forms on the planet, which young people watch and emulate, because if "they have their own show, they must be cool, so that is the way we should be acting, and have the morals they have." I'm with EmEyeKay- some days I hate people too,( and I'm a teacher!!!) and think an asteroid should wipe us all out, so a million years from now natural selection can begin again, possibly evolving into a more intelligent species.

  12. He doesn't have a drinking problem. It goes well beyond drinking.

  13. There's no way that a truly drug addicted and/or alcoholic individual can "cut down" or "cut back" to acceptable levels and continue moderately, it simply isn't possible.

I agree with Ivy that MTV is trying to cover their asses. They knew he had a coke & drinking problem a long time ago and have tried to keep it out of the spotlight to line their own pockets.

  16. there is nothing that mtv does, that isn't by design. of course they enabled him (and cast), in the interest of big bucks...that's a formula as old as television. that the idiot was too stupid to see beyond it...well, sad, but not surprising.

  17. Was John pregnant at the time of this photo? Did he have an Alien living in his belly? What the fuck is going on in his abdomen region here?

  18. Post story not believable, and I don't think for one minute they wouldn't reveal his identity. And everyone is afaid of him, because they "dont know what he wld do?". Puuuuleeeeese!! I smell manure!

  19. I think John's just sticking his stomach out. It can't really look like that, althought it could knowing him.

  20. Thanks, nola and X. I was worried that I was the only one freaked out by JM's abdominal region. He is just so yuck. Remember when "Your Body is a Wonderland" was on the radio like every other song? Sealed my hatred for him forever.

This other little guy is so far off my radar, I have nothing to say about him. But I do hope he gets better.

  21. I get the feeling that the folks over at MTV have been watching too many MONTY PYTHON eps.

"Sure we wanted the Sitch to get sober." (wink, wink...nudge, nudge)

As the idiots hand him a Yeagermeister under the table.
