Think Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are getting married soon because he asked her to marry him? At this point, I'm not sure he even asked. I think Angelina told her assistant to get a ring and make it fancy. Angelina put it on and called herself engaged. Just like that, no more leg comments from the Academy Awards and Angelina was in control of the situation once again. Oh, and a as a bonus, if Jennifer Aniston got engaged, she would be in second place. Angelina then cackled to herself and then had phone sex with Billy Bob Thornton while they talked about how great the foreword to his book was.
While promoting his new movie in Cannes, Brad said that he and Angelina would get married when there is marriage equality for all. That is what they have been saying forever. To me that shows the engagement thing was just something for publicity and has nothing to do with anything. I think we all know they have been engaged this whole time and would get married when gay marriage was recognized everywhere. brad wants it in all 50 states before they get married. So basically, they are not ever getting married.
I couldn't give a shit about either of these two....
ReplyDeleteAnd this is a surprise ? I think not.
ReplyDeleteHe would be totally crazy to marry her...
And now the tabloids can run with another 10 years worth of Brangelina wedding plans stories.
ReplyDelete"brad wants it in all 50 states before they get married. So basically, they are not ever getting married. "
ReplyDeleteThat's an awfully bleak assumption
P.S. since the ring came from the jeweler who made her line of emeralds I bet she called and said I need a ring fast...it looks like the rings on her line....but it's more attractive in emeralds...that ring has no life.
ReplyDeleteGod, they're so annoying. I can't believe people worship them. Go to celebitchy and they make it sound like these two created the heavens and the earth.
ReplyDeleteWho really cares though. Okay except for those fanatics.
ReplyDeleteGrey, you're kidding right? Mississippi will be the holdout until it's federal law. Just like with other civil rights issues.
ReplyDeleteThat ring is ass ugly, and so are her hands...
ReplyDeleteI'm not kidding. Supreme Court will make it federal law before Brangelina are on their deathbeds
ReplyDeleteThe Claw! The Claw! Sorry, didn't read the rest of the article, I was mesmerized by the scary hands on that woman! I have never known a ring to make a hand look worse!
ReplyDeleteCelebitchy is one messed up site. I had to quit it because I couldn't handle the terrible writing (Kaiser), the moderated comments and the insane commentors.
ReplyDeleteI HATE KAISER. Biscuits this, biscuits that, look biscuits! Michael Fassbender Fassdong Fassbender BISCUITS!!
DeleteIm glad I'm not the only one who hates the constant BISCUITS! Had to stop reading CB because of the insane commenters too
DeleteGrey, that's what I'm saying. It can't be left up to the states, because of ignorant cesspools like Mississippi.
ReplyDeleteCould be some truth to the kids wanting mom to have a ring - who the hell knows.
ReplyDeleteI have a friend with five kids from three marriages, and the kids are very sensitive as to how their mom is perceived. She even wears a wedding band/diamond ring set that her dad gave her (not weird, I swear; he buys and sells jewelry) even though she's no longer married.
Maybe in a child's mind, a ring on that finger legitimizes their mom - makes her like everybody else's mom. Just a theory.
I called it!
ReplyDeleteJust waiting for the breakup announcement soon.
Can somebody help a sister out? Sometimes when I go into the Blogger comments I see the option to Reply, but sometimes I don't. I love CDAN (hopelessly addicted) and want to personally high-five some of the commenters
ReplyDeleteAnd then, yeah, also diffuses the whole Leggate thing. I'm not naive enough to think it's all about the kids, even though it should be!
ReplyDeleteFor a diamond that's that big, it has no sparkle, and the design is meh to begin. I bet it's cz.
ReplyDeleteHer hands look like a 70-year-old woman's.
@Anita_mark
ReplyDeleteAnyone who dares to question St. Angie will be torn apart by the readers. I swear her PR team is working overtime on that site.
I doubt that them holding their future marriage hostage, if you will, till there is marriage equality will make any difference. Most people don't care about these two tricks.
ReplyDeleteGay marriage will pass over everywhere soon (state-wise). It's gonna be Barry O's platform. And a sure win at that (not that it makes a dif. but it will make his win much more believable).
ReplyDeleteReally shows they're not on the same page. Two different worlds, one might say.
ReplyDeleteThat would explain the ugly ring. Look at the pic, it's flat and dark as can be.
ReplyDeleteIt would be funny if the Supreme Court ruled in favor this year and Brad had to think of a new excuse. But I think they're stuck with each other. He made his bed, now he has to lie in it.
ITA with the Celebitchy comments- things are out of hand, loonies have taken over!
ReplyDeleteIt is one ugly ring. I doubt it is CZ, they have more sparkle. They just look like really crappy diamonds.
ReplyDeleteThe more I hear about these two and their wedding plans, the less I care.
Kaiser is incapable of writing anything new. Dongs, biscuits, Hammdong, ugh. And the commentors eat it up. They enable her with, "Kaiser, you're hilarious!" No, her writing is weak at best. Although asking a question in every title is smart, gets tons of comments which equals tons of hits so that site must be doing well. I'll go check out that site that measures internet hits, alexa? alissa? something like that.
ReplyDeleteFunny, I remember a time not too long ago on here where you practically had to genuflect when writing about St. Brangelina or you would be called a hater. Wonder where those fine posters are today LOL? Perhaps they have converted?
ReplyDelete@Sunny, maybe one of the commenters can answer your question. I can only comment and hit publish, beyond that ??
ReplyDeleteOmama, no, gay marriage won't be legalized in every state soon. There are way, way too many people opposed to it in conservative states. Do you honestly think that places like Utah, Alabama, Mississippi, heck, even Texas, would legalize it if left to their own devices? If so, you are fooling yourself. The only way it will be legalized all over the country is if it becomes federal law, and even if they do that, it will be immediately challenged in the Supreme Court.
ReplyDeleteAdd me to the list of people askeered of The Claw.
ReplyDeleteI've noticed that AJ hasn't been making the "most beautiful" lists lately. Weird. She's always on those. I think it's great what she and Brad are doing with their monies going to so many charities, but on the other hand, I don't like pretense or highly calculated publicity moves - it's a turn off. So I'm torn about these two.
ReplyDeleteI have to say, "Well played, Brad!" It looks like he's being noble, but I think it could be years before gay marriage is recognized in all 50 states, unless a Federal Law mandating marriage equality/non discrimination is passed (crossing my fingers).
The stones are probably investment-quality pieces.
ReplyDeleteIf the Supreme Court legalizes gay marriage it will be because Angie paid them all off! This is one backwards country when it comes to civil rights. I can't imagine the day when "everyone is equal" has no exceptions.
ReplyDeleteThere's a fine line between being a cynic and being a realist. I'm not sure where that line is anymore.
I am so glad people here see how they are on Celebitchy!! Those people and the writer (kaiser) are delusional!!! And if you don't agree with them they will not even post your comments!
ReplyDeleteHi! My name is ChopChop and I'm hopelessly addicted to diamonds.
ReplyDeleteEmerald cut, or step-cut, diamonds such as hers aren't really meant to sparkle like a round brilliant. They're meant to show the incredibly intricate cutting and the seemingly endless "steps" of the facets; they're just not cut for the light return. See also Beyonce's ring. Her emerald cut doesn't sparkle like mad either.
Disclaimer: I'm not defending Brand Brange but I am defending that ring. *wink*
I believe he said that the rumors of a date are false, they have no date and that who knows that by the time they do get married gay marriage will be legal. A bit different than what's posted here.
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, I still like them! Agree that she looks terrible lately, needs to EAT, but her heart is in the right place. All proceeds from her (ugly) jewelry line are going to charity.
I can't comment on the hand too much, even tho I agree it's not good, because my hands are AWFUL, lol.
@Texshan
ReplyDeleteIf gay marriage were to become federal law in the USA, on what Constitutional grounds could the states sue?
I'm trying to think of it, but it won't come to me.
I still say, Congratulations to them, so what...it will be a long engagement...and I would be willing to bet money it has to do with their kids wanting an extra commitment, or something a little more traditional and formal.
ReplyDeleteAngie must have been so pissed about being the joke of the Oscar's, given how calculated they are with PR. While I think trying to bury leggate is one reason, I think another reason is Brad is trying for an Oscar next year with the film he's premiering at Cannes.
ReplyDelete@Sunny, I only see the respond option on the mobile site. I never use the respond option because it doesn't show up properly on the main website. It'll just appear at the end of the comments list so no one would know who you meant. Not too long ago, a commentor used it to high-five someone but on the website, it looked like s/he was agreeing with her/himself and got accused of having two display names.
ReplyDeleteAll that to say, I think the "respond" feature kind of sucks. Even if it worked properly on the main site, you'd have to then scroll through the comments to look for replies rather than going to the very bottom to see the new comments. Maybe I'm alone about feeling this way.

ReplyDeleteThose hands -- my God I really thought they were shots of an elderly woman's hands.
ReplyDeleteThis makes me think of the Blind Item about an A+ List celebrity couple who values their brand. A lot of people think it was about the Beckhams, but I really think that it's about Brangelina (despite the female half of the couple apparently disliking sex).
ReplyDeleteThank you @Agent **it and Anita!! I just figured the wine was giving me clarity last night
ReplyDeleteI think Brad and Angie really know how to play the press game...whether it is them or their PR team, they manage to grab headlines. It makes them relevant. I bet they have a good laugh at how the public drools over every morsel of information they release and every headline that predicts their marriage, another adoption, or another AngieJo pregnancy.
ReplyDelete@Sunny - yes, what anita_mark said. I only see the Reply option when browsing w/ my iPhone. Never used it but since she says it won't post properly I still won't. :)
ReplyDeleteEvery single move she makes is calculated. We hear and see what she wants us to. She's the ultimate pro at it.
ReplyDeleteThanks, anita_mark. I noticed the Reply option only shows up on my iPhone, which I don't like to use for commenting, just reading. Now that I know it doesn't post reliably well, I won't use it.
ReplyDeleteI do wish there was a good Reply function, though. It would be great for specific discussions, and for "high-fiving" people, as Sunny said.
I really hate that band, I really hate her hand. She's always putting on a show, with all those kids in tow. It's a shame she's losing that pretty look, but it's what happens when Jennifer's husband she took.
ReplyDelete-Not Dr. Suess
I like sparkly things, a huge emerald cut diamond is low on flash, and then coupled with the shank shoulders in baguettes is just another dose of boring.
ReplyDeleteBrad should have gone for channel set rounds or damn near anything that didn't look architectural, which I realize is his passion.
As for marriage, maybe, but maybe never.
Sue Ellen, the states have always been allowed to enact their own marriage laws and rules. If the federal government all of a sudden said, "nope, we are going to determine who can get married and how, and all of the states are going to have to abide by the rules we set," then states that do not allow same-sex marriage would immediately file an injunction to stop the law from taking effect and then petition the SCOTUS on the grounds that the federal government overreached itself (this is part of the same argument they will be making about national health).
ReplyDeleteYears ago, a few states had laws that barred interracial couples from marrying. In 1967, the SCOTUS declared them unconstitutional. But there was no real legal response from any of the states that had the laws -- I guess they had seen for themselves that the laws were discriminatory. Some of the states kept the laws on the books, though, but didn't enforce them.
Also, in order to enact a federal marriage equality law, the SCOTUS would have to overturn the Defense of Marriage Act, which has been on the books since 1996.
"Oh, I'm so surprised", said no one ever.
ReplyDeleteThat diamond is sporting sharp, icy corners- much like St. Ange.
ReplyDelete@Texshan
ReplyDeleteThanks for the explanation.
As a Canadian this whole topic is weird to me because it would be unconstitutional here to not allow gays to have the right to marry. But, I guess that's the difference between life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, and peace, order, and good government.
Personally I don't think the kids give a rats ass if these two marry. They don't go to public or private school (tutors) they don't speak with their peers (they have none) do they watch T.V ? Or use the internet ? They really have very little interaction with the real world. I think these two are among the worst parents I've seen (and please I'm not speaking of murders, abusers or molesters ) These kids only have each other and nanny's that's it....as for how much time Brad & Angie spend with them, well lets count the photo ops.
ReplyDeleteIt is not IN the constitution of the USA so it is not unconstitutional. It is state law, which is why it is being done state by state. It is a long, arduous process for many. It is the most rational group out there that is organized to accomplish this and they have a lot of support from the middle. Which is good (IMHO).
ReplyDelete@Texshan - we are on the same page:)
ReplyDeleteI agree with everyone who said "who cares about these two." but kids start asking questions, especially when many of the kids in their classes have married parents. Families come in all shapes and sizes, but their school-age kids are probably wondering why they aren't married. Pax might be old enough to understand the marriage equality thing, but the younger ones might not get it.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, why all the HATE about these two on this blog? Jeez...save your passion for what matters.
ReplyDeleteI swear I posted earlier. Is it really not there? Is it visible to everyone but me? Am I getting ready to post the same thing that was posted earlier and therefore look like an idiot?? ::head spins::
ReplyDeleteI am relatively new to this site. Brangelina has really been growing on me in the last couple of years, but pretty much every time Enty posts about Angelina, it is negative, which makes me wonder what he knows and whether I should stick with my first impression.
@Carolyn, I don't think he knows anything short of the gossip that goes around. But Brangelina are gossip blog gold because some tend to feel really strongly and the comments explode. Lots of comments = lots of hits = a more valuable website.
ReplyDeleteAnita and the others who commented about Celebitchy: GAH!! I completely agree. I cannot even go to that site anymore. The loonies are so unreal over there...it's scary. And when I try to comment against Kaiser's "beliefs", she moderates me and doesn't post my comment. No more celebitchy for me.
ReplyDelete@anita_mark, that makes sense!
ReplyDeleteTheir kids don't go to school....don't have classmates, and they don't interact with outsiders. Who is going to tell them their parents aren't married ?
ReplyDelete@MISCH
ReplyDeleteBrad's parents are married, as are Gwen and Gavin. And we know they've had playdates because of pap pictures. I'm sure they're aware of what being married is.
Or that those people wear rings and mommy and daddy don't.
ReplyDeleteI cant believe they need publicity!!
ReplyDeleteThe ring probably looks a lot better in person .. I agree that Brangelina is annoying as hell .. but they are giving incredible opportunities to three kids who might be dead now .. and have inspired others to do the same .. soooo .. #peace
ReplyDeleteUh-oh, I think we got a 'Loonie' all up in here! And what is this discussion of Celebitchy and 'biscuits'? I've never been to the site, are 'biscuits' code for bottoms?
ReplyDeleteSo basically everything is the same, but there is a ring now. What a let down. They can drag this out forever, its not like they are breaking up, but it is annoying as hell. I agree with enty, she wanted to distract from being made to look the fool at the Oscars, and got a ring. He's singing the same tune. Totally healthy relatonship there.
ReplyDeleteAnd I 100% about Celebitchy, they've completely sold out to the loonies and more recently to the Twilight crowd. There's a daily Kristen Stewart post now too. Both these celebrities bring in the crazies, and ruins it for everyone else. What's hilarious about the brangiloonies is that they love to go on about how boring Jennifer Anniston is, but there are always more comments on posts about her than on AJ posts. They're delusional Psychos.
i often disagree with Celebitchy (her weird hatred on Hathaway,Portman...her fanatic obsession on Fassbender,Hamm or her love/hate on Lean Rimmes,Lively/Reynolds and Kardashians)as i often disagree with Lainey(she's always ambivalent and she's totally obsessed by Gosling and thinks Jake G is straight) as i often disagree with Enty(his obsession for realTV starlets,,his inaccurate reports) but i continue to go on their sites
ReplyDeleteIt's a sickness, FrenchGirl :)
ReplyDeleteHey, Sue Ellen, no worries -- I'm sure you know a lot more about US law than I do about Canadian law!
ReplyDeleteIn the USA, there has pretty much always been a strong anti-federalist sentiment, in that the states do not like the federal government telling them what to do. The thought is that the state government knows what the state's residents want better than the federal government. This is why there's such a patchwork of laws that vary state to state. It's why a same-sex couple who lives in my state of Texas, for instance, cannot get married here. Even if they travel to Massachusetts and get married there, once they return to Texas, the state still does not recognize them as married, even though they have a legal marriage in Massachusetts.
It can be very confusing, not only on this issue but many others, as well. The age of consent varies by state, as do gun laws, marijuana laws, exotic pet ownership, divorce and custody, business and employment, etc. For instance, I live in Texas, which is called a "right-to-work" state. This means that the state prohibits union security agreements, which dictate the extent to which a union can require employees' membership, payment of union dues, or fees as a condition of employment, either before or after hiring. Basically, it makes it very hard to establish and maintain labor unions. New Mexico, right next door, is not a right to work state. So unions can thrive there.
No body on this earth cares if those two publicity hounds get married. I'm sick of their antics. One word: BORING!
ReplyDeletejaja this site site is awesome :D
ReplyDeleteI was going to bash celebitchy which should be called Angeloonie Fansite or whatever and all of you guys were already bashing it :D awesome
yeah 12 year olds troll celebitchy. I stopped reading it because it SUCKS as I stopped reading Perez eons ago.
yeah the brange are a prefabricated brand. Love them or hate them but they are a brand.
Does anyone else experience problems posting comments to this site? I just tried posting a comment but it doesn't seem to have worked.
ReplyDeleteEnty you jumped the shark.
ReplyDeleteLove them or hate them, they are a top brand. Eons above the peons.
My kids, when they were about 14 and 12, wanted very much for my SO and I to marry. Im still wearing the engagement ring. It was important to them so we did it. There were no ulterior motives.
OK, so I'm an idiot as I didn't sign in - pls ignore previous comment.
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to say I'm Anj fan, but luckily for you guys I'm far too knackered to go all psyco on you. I'll have to save that for another time.
And the other thing is - it's so refreshing to see people on here who despise Kaiser's writing style (and I use that term loosely) as much as I do. I think it was Anita and Seward who summed it up best. Can anyone explain to me, why does Kaiser use the term "biscuit"? Actually don't bother wasting your time, It's so utterly juvenile and nonsensical and probably not that funny at all.
One final rant before I go; I noticed that one of the reasons posters on Celebitchy are so sycophantic is because you get banned, if say anything which disagrees with Kaiser's opinion. I know this because they've blacklisted me for questioning why their anti-bullying policy doesn't apply to the hate campaign they wage against Dutchess Kate. I'm quite pleased to be banned from that site though - I feel validated in some way.
Guys - the ring is PROBABLY not diamonds. It's probably spinel. I'd bet on it!
ReplyDeleteLike them but I don't think I can cope with the onslaught of press a wedding would bring.
ReplyDeleteFor all you or anyone else knows, they're already married. They aren't required to tell the truth, after all.
ReplyDelete
