Whitney Houston's Family Hire Security To Protect From Grave Robbers

I'm not sure why you would bury someone with $500K worth of jewels on their body and tell the world that fact and then wonder why people would try and dig up Whitney Houston's casket for the jewels. Now, Whitney Houston's family has had to hire 24 hour security to guard the casket. Umm, how about just removing the jewelry? You are going to spend way more than $500K before long if you have someone watching her 24 hours a day. Whose idea was it to be buried in that much jewelry?

When they say she was buried with 500k worth of rocks, are we sure they meant jewels and not drugs?!

I don't believe for a moment that she was buried with valuable jewels. And I kind of remember the funeral home director disputing that as well.

If it's true they buried her with jewels - and I highly doubt it - it's just stupid. I know some people leave a wedding band on, but take the diamond jewelry off and let someone else wear it.

Considering she was reportedly bankrupt, it would be really stupid of her family to bury her with $500K in jewels because I imagine there are creditors and taxes to be paid.

i remember reading that fact and wondering the same thing...if you did bury her with that much jewelry, WHY announce it to the world??? what morons.

A gold wedding band maybe...
Now I'm really wondering exactly who is smoking crack ?

I am sure if this is true, it is in hopes that Bobby Brown would try and dig her up so they could arrest him and throw away the key.....those kind of valuables can buy A LOT of dope...and he'd try to steal those in hopes of the pay off....

I always thought it was dumb to bury people with that kind of jewelry on--it's not like they can enjoy it anymore, or wear it wherever they currently are. Jewelry is for the living. This is a stupid thing for the family to do. *Maybe* the security is to keep the public from realizing that she WASN'T buried with it, which would prompt the question--who does have it? Hmmmm.

They didn't bury her with any jewelry. They said they did so foax would think Whitney still had money. That jewelry is gone.

I never understood why anyone would be buried with their jewelry. It never made sense to me.

I don't think Whitney is buried with her jewels either. I think the family was just saying that.

It was the borrowed jewelry Lilo is missing.

Sounds like they are attention whores. They are probably saving a boatload of money because the monthly crack bill has gone down so they can afford the security.

I read the other day that there has already been guards at her graveside and the problem is that the family cannot afford them anymore so they're thinking about encasing her casket in concrete so that in no way shape or form can anyone steal her jewels.

But seriously...why bury her with all of it? What a waste!

Oh, please, if she was wearing any jewelry when they closed the casket it was costume stuff. And funeral directors usually remove even that at the end and return it to the family. They just spread that rumor to glam up the funeral event -- like the gold lame costumes on the women who escorted Cissy Houston down the aisle during the recessional. NY papers say they're going to pour concrete over the grave.

Brilliant. You know what? I hope someone does steal them. Jesus.
