6 Year Old Girl Kidnapped From Home Is Found Dead

30 minutes after the mother of six year old Sierra Newbold reported her missing, Sierra was found in a canal dead. Police in Salt Lake City have set up a manhunt to try and find the killer and have actually warned people there is a predator on the loose. usually police try to keep everything calm, but apparently this guy is pretty horrific and the girl suffered a great deal before dying. Police have not ruled out anyone as a suspect but said the parents are not suspected. Huh? That seems like they have ruled out some people. I never rule out the parents in this type of thing. There were no signs of forced entry into the house. No one can explain how the six year old girl got out.

  1. I read that she had been sexually assaulted - rotten bastard! - so hopefully they'll find some DNA evidence. There is a special place in Hell for this person. I always get upset thinking about what the victim went through in those minutes/hours before death. So horrific!!

  2. I think you read the article you linked to wrong. It says:

"(Police Chief) Diamond said no one had been ruled out as a suspect, including members of the girl’s family, who continue to cooperate with the investigation."

  3. I had to install motel locks up high to keep my 3yo in the house, but that would not explain how the guy got to her.

How horrible, and I so hope the parents can get thru this, and that they had nothing to do with it.

  5. This breaks my heart. My daughter just turned 1-- stories like this make me want to lock her in a bubble. :(

  6. Well, I walked out of my house when I was 3 because my older brother got to go to the neighbors and I was denied. Got lost and in a heap of trouble. This was, ahem, back in the 70s. So I think a 6 year old could easily get out of the house on her own.

That being said, I wouldn't rule out the family. If she was sexually assaulted, there should be dna and if the parent's are cooperating, that should confirm or deny their involvement. Hopefully.

  7. Uh maybe she just walked out the door. I have babysat enough children and they can up and walk out whenever they want.
My heart goes out to this family . No one deserves this and I hope that bastard pays for what he did to her possibly others, and those he will harm in the future if he is not caught. Screw hell, there needs to be a special nasty place on Earth for these people here, and now so that they might suffer a fraction of the pain that they inflicted on their victims.

  8. Ghastly. I'm keeping Sierra and her family in my thoughts today. DM is saying there might be video of the abduction, maybe that's why the parents are not currently suspect.

  9. God this is sickening. A 7-year-old was also shot and killed in Chicago.

I seriously hope her parents weren't involved.

  10. I really think that the person who did this is the same person who too the girl from AZ recently, Isabel Celis. Just look at their pics side by side. They could pass as twins.

Seems to me that the perp, for some reason or another didn't have the time, again for whatever reason, to dispose of the body in a more secure place, as with Isabel. OR, his subconscious made him leave her there, in the hopes he (or she...you never know), get caught.

Let's hope the fuzz notice how similar the girls look to each other too (which I'm sure they will).

  11. "Hey little girl, can you help me find my lost puppy? I'm so worried about it and it's so cute." Unfortunately it doesn't take much to lure a chiled.

As my children were growing up I tried to impress upon them to never keep a secret from us. Especially if an adult does something to you and tells you not to tell anyone. That's something we especially need to know about. I think it got through to them.

  12. The stuff of nightmares. That poor little girl.
I hope they find this bastard yesterday!

  13. Being a resident of Utah and having a daughter almost 6, I'm disgusted by this. So very sad that she had to go through that. I only hope that now that she's in heaven, she has peace.

I hope they catch the guy and slaughter him!

  14. I'm so upset about this story. This infuriates me so much. Anyone that touches a child like this, should fry. This is when I am for the death penalty. I want to find this asshole and torture him slowly for days on end.

  15. Tragic. No child should have to go through that or die like that, but I agree with Enty on this one. I wouldn't rule the parents out either.

  17. Oh Lord. No punishment is too wicked for such sick scum of the Earth.

I pray they can get this monster off the streets.

  18. you know, when you're already having a shitty day, news like this just makes me want to crawl in bed and cry all day. So glad I work mostly alone so nobody can see my tears for this poor poor little angel.

  19. They *always* say "so-and-so is not a suspect" until they feel they have enough proof against someone.

  20. People who prey on children are the lowest of the low.

    That is all.

  21. What Mango said. Anyone who preys on children deserves even worse than Hell.

  22. I dont even know how to put into words how disturbing this is. Blessings on everyone except the sicko perv. Bet its a " family friend".

  23. I have family in SLC. That is absolutely terrifying. I hope they find that asshole.

  24. With the correct training, it is possible for police to rule out family quickly, although hers haven't been yet, i guess.
Even just the words used in the 911 call can speak VOLUMES.

Google "Statement Analysis". There's a blog by that name (aka Seamus something), but the guy sometimes posts racist stuff, so DON'T visit the site named "Statement Analysis" (I recommend). Look for sites that DEFINE the technique. It's fascinating!

  25. actually I read in the comment section accompanying the article over at the daily mail (i think) that there were a few houses which burned down a few nights prior to the child's abduction, rape and murder....and the point is, the fires drew large crowds. So, there is the likelihood that the perp is NOT known to the family. (I could be wrong) Because remember, monsters of this sort are ALWAYS on the prowl looking for prey, with every opportunity one to find their next vic. And sadly, they usually blend.

  26. It's sick how a person can abuse someone else's right to live. I hope they find this monster ASAP so he doesn't offend again.

  27. From the Salt Lake Tribune:

"Police have confirmed that surveillance video at the Newbold home captured images, but they declined to elaborate. With the Newbold family’s cooperation, police obtained a search warrant to search their home."

If you have the family's cooperation but still get a search warrant? That's in case you find something to incriminate the family and you want to protect its admissibility in court. So not saying the family is suspect doesn't mean they have 100% ruled them out.

  28. It's reasons like this my husband never became a cop on the street. He stayed in the jail even after doing the crossover to go out on streets cause he said he didn't think he would be able to handle the children or elderly being hurt or worse.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I think a lot of times they say the family members aren't suspects so that the family members will let down their guard. They don't owe the media the absolute truth in an investigation; it could compromise their case.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I think it's just protocol to have a search warrant so no scuzzy lawyer will try to overturn a conviction on a technicality. I want them to do this by the book so when the killer is caught, he gets what's coming to him.

  31. Hope they catch this creep stat!

  32. It's been really tough on the small community from where she lived. Yes, 2 houses did burn down recently in the neighborhood. There are also Canals everywhere in the area. Pretty Sad. I hope they catch this Sick Fuck. My parents live very near to where this happened, SL is small so it really hits home to everyone... SAD.
