Loved Guy Pearce since Meneto and LA Confidential days. And Noomi is Flawless. Both are giving me the hot sweats.
ReplyDeleteGuy Pearce! Guy Pearce! My day is now complete. We've been without him for far too long.
ReplyDeleteThat's a red carpet premiere I woulda loved to have been at. June 8 cannot arrive for us fast enough, the fiancee and I are pretty psyched about seeing Prometheus.
ReplyDeleteHow can Tom Hardy be so unappealing in photographs but so charismatic on film?
ReplyDeleteLove the colour of Charlize's dress!
Damn. Hardy's GF has a rockin' body.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for Prometheus, either. The trailers give me chills. The guys at Spill.com don't seem to be too excited about it, though; which makes me scared. They're usually right when it comes to movie reviews.
ReplyDeleteI've never been into the Alien movies, but I am looking forward to Prometheus. Such a fantastic cast!
ReplyDeleteSpill.com? Another site for me to waste time at?
ReplyDeleteI read somewhere that even Ridley has succumbed to the modern action/horror debacle of fast cuts and such. Remember the tension in Alien was built from NOT seeing anything for a long time, and had long shots. I really hate the fast cut edit style just to make it seem like something exciting is happening, and truly you can't even make out WHAT is happening.
Eh, get off my lawn.
OMG, msgirl, The Spill guys are hilarious! They do podcasts and animated movie reviews.
ReplyDeleteLogan and Tom were seperated at birth.
ReplyDeleteI was disapointed in the trailer, but am hoping the movie is good.
ReplyDeleteI've seen it. The first half is extremely promising. It looks like you're watching a modern sci-fi classic.
ReplyDeleteThen you start to realize that most of the good stuff is effective because of its connection to Alien or that the enigmas that are thrown at you are precisely the kind of stuff that Damon Lindelof likes to put in his scripts, without having any clue about what it's supposed to mean. Remember what he did on LOST? It's much worse there.
The second half gets more and more disappointing, and then you realize that they also keep on adding cliffhangers to launch a new franchise. In the process, they leave glaring plot holes and absolutely no character development apart from David the android and Shaw (who basically turns into Ellen Ripley, pt. 2). Charlize Theron does nothing else but touching a huge paycheck for her name. And the character played by Guy Pearce is easily the worst thing about the whole movie. When he comes back, the movies turns into a incoherent mess.
Prometheus is going to be EPIC. I cannot wait!!!
ReplyDeleteReno, really? I thought it was in the top 3 trailers I've ever seen. Maybe we saw different versions?
And even if the movie sucks, at least we have Idris Elba to look at. He even made Ghost Rider 2 a joy to watch. So, so pretty. And funny too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gvD9w8mw7s
ReplyDeleteMinnie Driver's dress is gorgeous. I love metallics.
ReplyDeleteMooshki has got it right! Screw all the other pretties in the film, Idris is to die for.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know Damian had anything to do with Prometheus, hmmm.
@Angela, thanks for that review.
ReplyDelete@ Mooshkie
ReplyDeleteIdris Elba gets a shamelessly underwritten part. He gets one of the best scenes in the entire movie (the one with Charlize Theron) but elsewhere he's just reduced to being some kind of exposition device before turning into Frank Lapidus from LOST.
I hope Prometheus sucks so I don't have to do battle with my Fassbender loathing to ever watch it.
ReplyDeleteI can hear me now, telling myself that seeing Guy Pearce in something would be worth the shower and brain bleach it'd take to get the Fassbender off.
Tom Hardy is so gross looking, but that seems to be what he's going for, so congrats to him.
Zoe! Is that a period pic she's shooting? Looks pretty seventies-ish... That'd probably be fun change after ST.
You can see Charlize's pussy through her dress. Yummy!
ReplyDeleteMinnie Driver looks like an elegant old Hollywood movie star. You don't see that too often anymore. Most Hollywood people just look like strippers on spring break.
ReplyDeleteCharlize's dress is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteApparently Prometheus has the best special effects everrrrr.
ReplyDeleteYeah, Tom's gf is a beauty.
ReplyDeleteGonna have to check out spill.com, thanks Vicki!
His girlfriend is worried that his horrible beard will eat her! Who is Noomi Rapace? She seems to be everywhere lately and I have no idea who she is! And I don't get the hype with Fassbender either. Meh.
ReplyDeleteI love "Alien" and its sequels so much - but join the club. This movie is going to be BIG.
ReplyDeleteI also love Noomi Rapace - I haven't seen the US version of TGWTDT, but she was great!
ReplyDeleteNo one else loves Noomi's dress? It is the best yet. Simply gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteNoomi Rapace was Lisbeth Salander in the Swedish version of Dragon Tattoo. I hated her in Sherlock Holmes, so I hope she bugs me less in Prometheus.
ReplyDeleteGuy Pearce will always be 'Mike from Neighbours' to me
ReplyDeleteI love Guy Pearce and I love Michael Fassbender, so this set of photos was full of win for me. However, I do not get the Tom Hardy attraction. I find him off-putting. And I really hope that photo wasn't from the premiere, since TH and gf look like they really just couldn't be bothered.
ReplyDeleteI don't know who Logan Green is, but he is quite handsome!
If Noomi's dress was fitted in the bodice, it would be an A+ for me. But the blousing makes her look droopy, IMHO. And if Charlize's dress was longer, I would love it, too. She must be exhausted, promoting both this and Snow White.
Have any of you seen the Promotheus trailer that is just Fassbender's "David" being interviewed about being an android? It is strangely compelling. I hate going to see movies in the theater (the last movie I saw on the big screen was "300"), but I might have to make an exception for this one.
Tom Hardy's girlfriend is actually his fiancee, and they starred together in the most lovely film adaptation of Wuthering Heights. I recommend it highly!
ReplyDeleteI loooove Guy Pearce. Such a sweetie. Big high school crush for me - even used to watch the TV show of Snowy River for him! I need to watch Priscilla Queen of the Desert - it's been too long!
ReplyDeleteI adore Charlize' dress - don't know that it goes with her coloring, though. Still, she looks amazing, as always.
ReplyDeleteI agree that Noomi's dress is gorgeous, not that the comments made me take a second look! I blame the Jolie for ignoring it the first time around - she's ruined "the long black dress on the carpet" look for me.
not = "now"
