Blind Item #1

This actress, who has been in this space before for some of her boorish behavior was at it again at the Dark Knight premiere. She is B-/C+ list and isn't even in the movie. She is barely part of the hit show on the almost network she shows up on sometimes. After she posed for photos on the red carpet without ever really smiling, the actress discovered where she was supposed to sit during the movie. She went into a don't you know who I am mode and said there was no way she was going to sit with regular people. She is an actress. Not someone who works a job. She would not stop causing a scene until she was moved into something she regarded as more her class. This is normal behavior for her, but there is one movie she was in before she got all high and mighty and I wish she had stayed the same. really liked that movie too.

  3. I have the same Avast protection stuff I've always had but for the last couple/few weeks CDAN pings off all of my suspicious site/malware alerts like crazy as soon as I open the site...

Plus, (and I don't usually bitch about Enty's questionable grammar or spelling, etc., because really, who cares?) BUT dang if the spelling is not getting worse all the time...

    Whassup out there, Enty?

  5. if Enty is using his blackberry for these posts, then i do not blame him. the keyboards are so tiny and all the letters are so close together, i even have trouble with slim fingers typing correctly. But i try to proofread, emphasis on try!

  20. Trachtenberg is a joke, plain and simple. I mean, she's literally been trying to get a big break since childhood and it still hasn't come. It's not fucking coming, Michelle. I have only ever enjoyed her on Pete and Pete. Even as Harriet the Spy she bugged me. I used to watch Gossip Girl, and actually stopped because of a combination of her annoying presence and Blake Lively's mushmouth.

It's a shame that someone would ever, ever think that this kind of behavior is ok. But if she doesn't have anyone to tell her to her face that she's acting like a spoiled b#$%h then it's unlikely she'll change. Wasn't she Harriet Talons? The one where everyone was saying how bad her attitude was on a hit show? She's not that amazing looking, like a Linda Evangelista in her prime or a Cindy Crawford, when will people realise that inner beauty, how you treat others is what makes someone attractive?

  40. This one was too easy. Granted I had just seen some of the red carpet photos for TDKR so that helped but still I had it figured by the second sentence.

As for the malware I use Chrome(w/o adblock but I should get that) and I got the malware thing once last week. Nothing since though. It probably has to do with whatever ads are popping up. If it's known to be malware it'll trigger that alert which explains it not happening all the time.

  41. I don't like MT. Never did. Thought she was kind of pointless on BtVS. Although I DO often say, "Anchovies, anchovies, you're so delicious! I love you more than ALL the other fishes!"

  42. Haven't been able to stand her since Buffy. Her character was a whiney bitch. Dawn was to Buffy what Scrappy Doo was to Scooby.

Isn't she also the one who threw a fit when a crew member came into her trailer without removing their shoes or something? Could have sworn that was a reveal.

  46. I keep my CADN open all the time as with 30 other sites, run malwarebytes and it has a pop up about every 20 sec that it is stopping malware. I also go to more questionable sites so I have not blamed it on this one. It's free and seems to stop it from infecting my puter so that is cool.

  48. Trachtenberg instantly came to mind. It pisses me off that I know her name.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I do not understand how Trachtenberg gets parts. Who wants to see her in anything? Who sees her name and thinks it will be something they want to see?

    ReplyDelete
  50. I liked her on Pete & Pete. Harriet the Spy is when I started to dislike her...but maybe that's the movie Enty is referring to?

Anyway, one of my friends from college went to the same performing arts high school as her and they're either the same age or a year apart, I can't remember. Anyway, she said she was always a bitch and had this kind of snobby attitude because she had been a child actress. Just made me feel better about judging her without actually knowing her.

    @Elizabeth,
To answer your question about her casting, wasn't there a bi about an actress that would sleep with anyone and everyone to get on shows and get more dialogue? I don't remember if it was revealed, but most people guessed her.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I forgot she was Harriet the Spy. Yah this is definitely her.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I think this is funny. Aren't premieres attended by mostly stars? So the "don't you know who I am?" question would legitimately be answered with, "Yep. About the 212th most importnant person here tonight. So Sit Down."

I got a fake "anti-virus" program that started once when I was searching the site for one of my own old comments. It announced that I had 90 malware/viruses and pretended to start running a scan, which pretended to be a Microsoft scan with the four-color shield, and it was very hard to force to stop. I ran my own MacAfee scan after that and came up clean.
(Oh, and by the way, in looking for my old comment, I discovered an anti-science site that uses my user name as well. I'm not affiliated. I believe in environmental responsibility.)

Know there's been a lot of replies but I just wanted to put in my tuppance; yesterday everyday I came onto cdan on my computer it redirected me to another site, an ad site which is usually an indication of malware. Today it seems okay though. I use ie. Hopefully it will right itself out for you too.

  61. @selenakyle & Renoblondee:

Most virus/malware is directed at IE since it is the most widely used browser; I use firefox but chrome is also a good choice (until it becomes the 2nd most widely used browser)

Having said that, Avast just had an update day before yesterday, maybe that is part of the problem?

    Highly recommend Adblock (thanks Angel!).

  64. People: talking as an IT tech, let me tell you that ads are one of the common sources of malware. In those cases, it's not the site's fault, it's the fault of whoever engineered an ad with embedded malware (hackers, Russian mafia, etc.) or whoever created an ad with such lousy security that it was hackable. The banner ads on websites are supplied by adservers, and that is how malware-infested ads can spread. If you aren't running the right kind of security, you can fall prey to a drive-by-download - the ad (or sometimes even the website, if the website was hacked/infested) can download a script on your computer and infest it, too.

Solution: use ad-blocking software. You should also use software that will stop videos from automatically playing, because flash can also sometimes carry malware. Don't let it run unless/until you choose to let it run.

Anita Mark - ask your company's IT dept. why they aren't installing adblock and flashblock software on the corporate pcs. Even highly reputable sites can fall prey to hackers, after all.

Everyone: Avoid using Internet Explorer if you have other options. It's simply not as secure as Firefox or Chrome, nor does it have as many free optional security add-ons that can be installed.

Summation: it's always possible that a website may get hacked and infested, but you should also distrust the ads. Since you don't need to see the ads, increase your security by blocking them. And consider installing FlashBlock (Firefox) or a similar app that will keep flash objects (such as video) from automatically playing.

Well she stood up for herself!

I wouldn't be too judgmental over this stuff. She's not a bad actress.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Enty showed a picture of Leighton Meester not dressed up at all at the Batman premier, and she was chewing gum in all the pics. Maybe it's her?

    ReplyDelete
  67. The person(s) above who recommended Google Chrome for iPad - thank you! I would scroll through all the comments but it's late. Thank you for the tech information. I'm loving Chrome.

    CDANers rock hard!

    ReplyDelete
  68. I was thinking Leighton Meester, but "barely part of the hit show" seems to point more to Trachtenberg since she hasn't always been on the show like Meester has.

    ReplyDelete
  69. is it common that an actress would be sitting w/ the public? i can see how that would be weird for her. and frankly, i wouldn't want to sit next to an actor in a movie. they need to sit w/ their own kind. she didn't need to be rude, but sounds awkward.

    ReplyDelete
  70. I use Firefox and have since 2004 or so when my computer got hijacked so badly I couldn't do anything in IE anymore without it crashing immediately. I'm very happy with it, personally, and would switch only if forced to.

I use Adblock Plus and Flashblock and recommend both highly. (I've had problems with Noscript or I'd be running that, too.) I've recently had some trouble, not here but on ahemming sites, as they say, with pop-ups getting through, and for those I use BlockSite. You enter the url that appears on the pop-up (I just type in http://sitenamehere.com and leave out any of the extra stuff at the end,) enter, and, bam, it's blocked. I do still get the pop-up window, but nothing loads. I haven't had a successfully loaded ad in a few weeks, so it seems to be working.

For the security conscious (and yes, that's one of the main reasons I avoid Chrome - Google owns enough of my soul already,) Ghostery is pretty great. I like having some idea who/what is trying to track my comings and goings.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Trachtenberg and Euro Trip. God, I love that movie.

I use Firefox, and my MalwareBytes is always going off because of the CDaN ads. :(

    ReplyDelete
  72. Selena Kyle, et al.: I'm also having problems w/malware, popups, warnings, etc. [Sorry, i'm essentially computer illiterate, but i'm trying to say that coming to CDAN gave me significant problems, and i'm too much of an addict to stay away].

I installed Firefox/Mozilla based on reading suggestions from other posters. However, my computer crashed sometime after doing so, and i had to have a pro come in and 'fix' things.

Things still aren't the same as pre-crash, but they're much better.

With the caveat that i don't know what i'm talking about, something seems to be in the cyber 'water' here. And i wish it could be filtered out.

  73. I use Chrome and I was getting pop-ups in a new tab for the past couple weeks but it's stopped lately. They were pop-ups for some stupid online gaming thing...it looked like something along the lines of world of warcraft.

All you IT people reading & commenting- I use a macbook pro and was always told I didn't have to worry about malware or viruses. Is this true? Should I be running some sort of software to protect my computer?
