How Katie Holmes Escaped - Received $35M In Divorce Settlement

Do you remember back in the day when Britney Spears used to whisper to a friend she needed a cell phone and they would slip her a disposable one which Britney would use until the money ran out or it was discovered in one of the sweeps of her personal belongings? Well, Katie Holmes thought of the same thing. The LA Times is reporting that one of Katie's friends smuggled Katie a disposable cell phone which Katie used to start the divorce process with lawyers. Apparently Tom monitored every phone call Katie made on a daily basis, and sometimes on an hourly basis. Plus, she was not allowed to buy anything without someone reporting back to Tom or Tom approving it in advance so buying a cell phone would have been impossible. So, even though the couple had been doing the whole trial split thing, Tom thought he had Katie monitored 24/7 and was totally caught by surprise when she filed for divorce.

I spoke to two people yesterday and one said Katie received $25M and the other said $50M so I am going to split the difference and say $35M. They both feel they are right, but I think the one who is saying $50M is valuing in a home Katie is supposed to get, but Katie wants nothing with any Scientology footprints and wanted the cash instead.

  2. Last night, huffingtonpost.ca posted that she joined a Catholic church in her neighborhood. The church actually issued a press release saying they were looking forward to having her be a parishoner.

Wow! Talk about giving Tom a kick in the pants.

  3. That's my girl! Happy for her she finally escaped. Tom doesn't seem to be able to be single, so wonder who he's gonna marry next. Wonder who is dumb enough to take the bait.. Think it's gonna be someone who already is in CoS, outsiders run like hell when they hear 'Scientology'. She must be young, so I am guessing Erika Christensen.

  4. Yowza - it was really like that - 24/7 monitoring? That is a nightmare. She couldn't have realized that was what she was getting into when she signed up with Tom.

No wonder she always looked awful and her daughter was so squirrelly. Momma under that kind of stress makes baby crazy. Hope they have a really good therapist lined up.

  5. I am so glad she got out. The more I hear about her amazing life, the darker it sounds.

  6. I bet she gets Suri baptized!

  7. Wow, not surprised about him literally monitoring her every move. She'll have clams going through her trash for years. Good girl!

The moron apologists will be going nuts on here today.

  8. I think your figures are pretty accurate. I researched what were presumed be the leaked financial terms of their prenup from years ago, and supposedly if she remained married to Tom for at least 5 years, she would receive $5 million for each year which netted $25 million, and an additional $10 million for each child she had which brings the total to exactly $35 million.
I don't think it's unreasonable to imagine that Tom kicked in an additional $15 million, bringing the total to $50 million, to make the whole thing disappear quicker than you can say "Katie kicked Tom and Co$ to the curb".

  9. So how will Tom be able to contact Suri without the alien souls sticking to him? According to Xenu worshipers, those alien souls Xenu brought to Earth are flying all over the place and that's why they need to avoid non-Xenu worshipers (SPs). It will be very interesting to see how much "meaningful" time Tom spends with Suri after this.

  10. angel, I loved your comment in yesterday's post that Tom's lawyers basically became Katie's stenographer. Haha!

I wonder if the auditions for wife #4 have started yet. He does not like to be unmarried, but this one needs to stick.

  12. I think tc thinks all that monitering is love. I dinc think he knows how to be "normal". I feel for the guy. He needs to be de- programmed!! Free tom!!!!
But no worries, i am team katie all the way!

  13. I get the feeling he only gets married for his image. Maybe his first wife was for love, but he's so fucked up because of Co$, he'll get married only when David tells him to.

  14. Cali Girl - if he was smart, he would lie low for a while (in terms of finding the next Mrs.), and work at rehabbing his image.

Damn, his tactics are up there with the CIA.

  15. It would seem many underestimated Katie. You know once there is a child, woman will do anything to protect them. Seems Katie planned her escape like a General, and I don't think there is any doubt that she has something big on Tom and Co$.

Good for her! Hopefully she will prove to all those women out there in abusive, (emotional and physical) relationships, that you can get out.

    1. @redheat I am actually a little insulted that you would compare this to a physically abused woman trying to leave.

      Delete
    2. Abuse takes many forms. 24/7 survelliance? As a formerly abused woman I find no offense in this.

      Delete
    3. I wouldn't doubt that this would fall into the emotional abuse category. Those wounds are horrible. The only difference is they are more easily hidden.

      Delete
    4. To me, the diff is her situation. I don't doubt it the surveillance would wear, but most abused women don't have the resources she does. If I died tomorrow, even if my family suspected foul play, there's a good chance no one would pay. If she died tomorrow? All hell would break loose. It's too public for her to truly fear for her and Suri's life. Also, abusive husbands don't usually pay out and set you up w an apt when you file. IF you can leave, you often find yourself with no money and no safe place to go.

Perhaps I was too quick to say I was insulted. But I don't think it translates.

  17. A little off topic, but I recently saw the Jack Reacher trailer in the movie theater. After watching trailers for 007, the new Bourne movie and the Total Recall re-make, Tom Cruise looked like a pansy in comparison.

My husband, who is TC neutral, actually laughed out loud at TC as he purported to beat up a group of guys half his age and twice his size.

Should be interesting to see how his new movies fare!

  18. I think someone mentioned how much her life was like in his movie The Firm. Creepy.

  20. @Elizabeth, it certainly seems that way. I stand in awe of her :)

@Vicki, B. Profane has a theory that Tom will remain unmarried from this point on, choosing instead to make public appearances with various 'girlfriends' or dates. Since he's in his 50's now and no longer at the top of his game, it wouldn't surprise me.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Angel, it makes sense for him to go the playboy route. Expect a statement about him being in the prime of his HETERO life and he just wants to have fun with all those beautiful WOMEN.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Also, if you're David Miscavige and Co$, do you want Tom getting married and this inevitably happening again?

  24. My offer to be wife #4 still stands!

I'll happily show up at public events looking stunning, throw the media lots of sound bites about how amazing he is and everything, if he will just let me live my quiet little life with a few of my oldest friends in one of his fancy-pants mansions. Oh, and if he'll let me fly his planes to get my instrument rating, too.

Call me, Tom! I'm sure we can work something out.

    ReplyDelete
  25. It does make sense in regards to $$$ and convenience, if C0$ just hires a string of beautiful up and coming starlets to provide Tom with some companionship. He comes off looking like a manly man playboy, and can do whatever he wants on the side in the privacy of his own home. Lot less chance of getting caught in a compromising position.

  26. Team Katie here as well. She played a corker! Hope that Katie and Suri are papped going into church every Sunday. Would love to see Tommy’s face when he sees the pics. His head will spin off it’s axis like the girl in The Exorcist!

  27. If Tom Cruise is allowed to have contact with Suri and Katie after this divorce, then everything this Church stands for is a joke. Regular COS members must never have contact with family members who leave the "church" and those who leave are ostracized for life. But I have a feeling that this celebrity worshiping cult has one set of rules for the regular people and a whole other set of rules for the likes of creepy old Tom.

  29. I bet Katie could get a very lucrative endorsement for whatever disposable phone she used to get away.

No need for her to say anything...just a commercial or ad photo with Katie talking on one of their phones and winking at the camera. Sales would go through the roof. Some kind of slogan like "when you REALLY need a reliable phone".

She's done a masterful job and whoever the "friends" are who helped her did a great job. I hope Tom just quietly fades out of their lives and she can give Suri some kind of normal childhood.

Oh My God. Here we go.

  32. @Vicki Cupper- Tom did marry his first wife for love...of Xenu. She got him into this Scientology mess, I believe she found out he was gay from auditing, then they used that to pull him deeper. They used marriage to her as bait, she was an actress and they thought it would make them Hollywood royalty and deflect gay rumors.
Mimi said they had sex twice in their three year marriage. This was around the Top Gun years, SOMEONE was having sex with that hot piece, just not his wife.

  39. @Topper Madison -- Yeah, I imagine that's exactly what went through Katie's mind when the deal was put to her.

I think the first year or two were okay as she settled in but then the last few years I believe really really took their toll.

Someone on Celebitchy yesterday said that they thought she was gone for good with those dead eyes. IIIII never thought so, I always thought she looked resigned *to a point* and would eventually come out of this kicking.

    YAY KATIE!

I was in a similar relationship (no monitoring though) and while the glam lifestyle is great at first the little stuff kills your soul over time. You kinda retreat into yourself until it's over.

    ReplyDelete
  40. The whole thing, from beginning to end, was just ridiculous. The fact that it's all finalized in two weeks is also ridiculous. Do you know anyone whose divorce was completed that fast?

Yeah Katie for getting out of that abusive relationship! And yes, emotional abuse is abuse. Sometimes more insidious bc it doesn't leave visible marks for others to see. Just a shattered soul.

Katie has mad courage and some fabulous friends! Hugs to you and little Suri. Fierce Mama Kat!

  43. It's interesting that Katie went back to the Catholic Church. Same thing happened with Nicole. Tom grew up Catholic and keeps marrying Catholic women who obviously don't want to give up their faith. I wonder if he secretly wants out of this cult, but it's a subconscious desire.

Good for Katie for this stealth operation.

  47. @djhpop Sorry you are insulted, but not sure what your feeling is founded in since I was comparing the fact that Katie was able to flee having existed in what was an emotionally abusive relationship. Any kind of abusive relationship is hard to extract from, so yes, seeing Katie plan, and successfully extract herself from a situation where Tom held immense power, is something any women can look to as a shinning light that may lead them out of the darkness of their abusive life.

There aren't a whole lot of opportunities to see high profile women serve as a good example. Tina Turner is the only other one I can think of. Now I'm not saying Katie is Tina Turner, BUT any time ANY hope can be given to ANY women by ANY means, it is a good thing.

But @shelly is right, too. If it helps any woman have hope then I'm all for it. I'm just not sure it would seem similar to the average abused woman. Perhaps I'm too negative.

  49. I don't understand the people who say he'd let Suri go because she's not biologically his. First of all, he seemed to hold on pretty damn tight to his other children, who are not biologically his. Second, Suri looks so much like him and his other family members. His cousin who was on Lost has the same face as her.

  50. @djphob - While Katie may not have been physically abused, a husband who monitors your phone calls and keeps track of your every move is absolutely a form of abuse. Emotional/verbal manipulation and abuse is very real and very painful, and it takes a strong person to make the steps to move forward from that type of relationship. Whether Katie knew going into the relationship is irrelavent; it happened and she was obviously sucked into a life she never expected. What she did was probably excruciatingly difficult, but she did it, and she is brave to do so.

Sorry to be so long winded - as you may have guessed, this is a topic that strikes close to home, and I know how fucking awful it is to be in a relationship like that, especially if its one you can't really break off (say, a parent, perhaps).

    ReplyDelete
  51. @dj, being monitired and all of your purchases controlled is very much an abusive relationship.

Seeing that Tom came from an abusive home, it seems that all his devotion to his church is all for naught if he ended up just like his dad - repeating the same abusive cycle. All these years of auditing and throwing $$ at Scientology and its really cost him three wives and his children. Even if Connor is a true believer, he'll never have a meaningful life if he lives it as a Co$ robot. Hopefully Suri can be shielded from much of the damage an abusive, controlling father can do to a little girl.

    ReplyDelete
  52. @Redheat, I think the main difference is determined by whether Katie was ever in love with Tom or if it was a contract. If it was a contract, she literally signed up for all this.

Women in abusive relationships generally don't choose to be abused/controlled. Rihanna excepted, of course.

  56. I gotta hand it to Katie, she played her cards close to the vest on this one--who could have seen this coming? What a coup! And to pull it off against the pervasive evil that is the CoS--brilliant! She must have been on top of the world announcing this.

  57. A little birdie told me that she was all smiles while she was visiting him in Iceland. Not one person involved with the two of them INCLUDING Tom had any idea she was planning her escape. There was no plans for a trial separation. He truly was blind sided by the divorce filing. I wonder what exactly could have been going on for her plot such a well orchestrated escape plan. I wish I could have been a fly on the wall when it was just those two alone.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I think Katie's dad had a lot to do with this. He's been in the wings since the prenup. I bet he researched Scientology and knew his daughter was being monitored. That said, I give Katie huge credit for immediately joining the Catholic church, though. She can't "say" anything, but her actions can.

    ReplyDelete
  59. This little birdie just told me that Scientology isn't the sole source of their marital strife. One of the main issues was that Katie and Tom had an agreement that he would only work on one movie a year and as of late he was working on 3. Katie wasn't in the relationship for the money and high living. She wanted a quiet and stable life and figured that due to his success he could provide that and not have to work so hard. She just wanted him home with the family.

Between CoS shitting bricks about the backlash they're getting and the crap Katie must have on him, even if half of what we think is true. I bet the truth is a lot worse than we've imagined.
Also, A quick settlement is easy to do since their lawyers devoted all of their time to them.

When I was divorced, my lawyer would give me a few minutes of her time once a month when my exes lawyer was also available. Sometimes he wasn't and we would have to reschedule to next month. If the two of them did nothing but deal with our issues for a week, it wouldn't have taken 18 months of battle.

  72. haha of course Suri will be baptized, and she's due pretty soon for first communion, etc etc. hahahahaha. She's going to Catholic school, both my kids go to Catholic school and its all Jesus and Mary all the time! No room for LRH there. I have my ups and downs with the Catholic church, but it's a safe place to land sometimes (not for everyone, obvs), and I'm sure that's what both Nic and Katie experienced when they got away from that hellish CO$ situation. The Catholic church has its own problems, which is why I struggle with my faith, but its predictable and normal (for those of us who are Catholic--I know other people think its bizarre).

  73. Last night Access Hollywood and Insider were running on two channels at about the same time & they were both doing puff pieces about the Church of Scientology & how it is as American as apple pie & nothing for middle America to be afraid of. This was appx 11:30 CST & I posted this same message on yesterday's Tom Katie thread with a 9:30 PST time stamp. It's gone today. Does the COS have hackers cleaning up message boards? Or am I just paranoid?

  74. I am so pleasantly surprised that Katie woke up. And that she left before Suri could be sucked in to that cult. She was looking like someone had crushed her soul for awhile there.

After doing some reading about how Miscavige worked to get Tom in Sci's clutches, I feel for him. Supposedly he is a really nice guy, but is so brainwashed and shielded from reality of Scientology that he is pretty much trapped. Miscavige and his lies were responsible for the breakup with Nicole. FREE TOM!

    ReplyDelete
  75. I feel there is a blind item reveal in that posting. Wasn't there a BI about a husband who had to approve every purchase his wife made? Or maybe i'm thinking everything is a blind item now.

I agree with the others, you can't designate which form abuse is worse than others. Being emotionally abused, isolated, ignored is so painful. Being hit is painful too. The goal is to treat each other with love and respect.

I think Miscavage is sitting on his booster seat in his office laughing like a kid at Christmas. Every divorce brings Tom deeper into the fold. Seeing that Scientologists are banned from the media and internet most will not know that Tom is getting special treatment with his relationhsip with Suri.

And oh, yes, he will be in that girls life. If only for the photo ops of a single dad trying to keep connected to his beautiful daughter. Funny how you never saw him holding Bella the way he does Suri.

  76. I don't feel that bad for her and I don't think she's amazing or heroic. She sold her soul to get more fame and money, knowing full well about Co$. She not only gave herself up, she was willing to bring a child into it, too. If she had, and currently was, enjoying any of the fame and accolades she thought she'd be getting, I don't believe she'd be leaving now. The only thing that works in her favor and returns a little soul to her is that she has indeed left.

    ReplyDelete
  77. @Shallow Gal, I hear you on the Catholic thing as a lifelong one myself. But I'm someone who adores structure and tradition, so I'll always stick with it and I hope that my future children will too, when they are old enough to decide for themselves. There's something so wonderfully predictable about the Mass and I definitely start feeling a little lost when I don't attend services. Likewise, I feel so much better when I go back--I wonder if Katie and Nicole feel/felt the same way.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Just want to clarify---was not trying to imply that physical abuse > emotional. OR that surveillance isn't traumatizing. I just see a big diff btwn this and your average abused women.

    ReplyDelete
  79. @dj Katie was worth about 25 million coming into the marriage so its not like she took the abuse for a check.

What Katie did have that a lot of women don't is a support structure set in place. Her Father provided a lifeline and she took it. They never wavered in making sure Katie was ok getting inside information from ex COS Mark Rathburn and helped her get to a safe place. This was years in the planning.

What I will find interesting is if she does anything to help battered women in the future. She knows what it is like. I get she can't speak against Tom or COS for the sake of Suri. But like someone posted actions speak louder than words.

Oh, and re the hang ups, do what Mike Farrell did, answer the phone, "Hubbard was crazy!"

    *ahem*

I'm not surprised at all that Katie was monitored but I would have thought her apartment was bugged. I wonder where she was when she placed the calls?

Speaking of dear old dad, I read on "Yahoo omg!" this morning (yeah, I know) that her father is a divorce attorney. I knew he was a lawyer but didn't know he specialized in divorce! You know daddy had a hand in this. Co$ is that far reaching and creepy that I wouldn't put it past them to bug both the office and home of her father. Maybe they hadn't gotten around to listening to the tapes yet. (Ooooooo, some poor enslaved schmuck at the Co$ compound is gonna be in SUCH trouble!) Either way, WTG Katie! I think I remember reading back in the day that he was a divorce attorney. I do remember a photo from the wedding where everybody on his side was grinning like copies of him and everybody on her side was all gloom and doom. It was like somebody had spliced a photo of a wedding and a photo of a funeral together.

I can't wait to see somebody make her escape into a thinly-veiled movie.

  85. Haha timebob on Miscaviage in a booster chair!

So Xenu worshipers are reporting posts? Well robots, here's another one for you to report! Here is a story about Tom being caught with Rob Thomas and that being the motivating factor for why he had to quickly shop for a wife!

"Not long ago, Marisol, the wife of Matchbox Twenty’s Rob Thomas (who has had to contend with his own rumors of bi-sexuality) found her husband in bed with Tom Cruise causing Cruise’s people to shift into high gear.

First, Mrs. Rob Thomas was bought off for an undetermined sum.
Second, Cruise and his handlers set out to immediately find Cruise a girlfriend. Second-tier actresses were targeted. A list was drawn up with Jessica Alba (#1 pick) and three other girls who fell out for various reasons. Originally targeted (#3 I think) but later rejected as “undesirable” was rumor queen Lindsay Lohan. Way down at #5 on the list was Katie Holmes, but that was the one with whom they were able to strike a deal."

    More here:http://stereogum.com/1597/tom_cruise_and_rob_thomas_are_lovers/news/

    Report away!

  86. Don't forget Scarlet Johannsen, Elizabeth. He invited her to dinner, but she bolted after he introduced her to some $cieno freaks.

    ReplyDelete
  87. The money should go in a trust fund for Suri, not Katie

    ReplyDelete
  88. Rob Thomas? Really? I actually like him. And I thought he and Marisol were so happy together.

I was going to ask how/why do wives walk in on scenarios like this, but Tommy Boy is probably too paranoid to get a hotel room but you'd think Rob would be smart enough to do something like this when wifey is out of town and not just out buying shoes.

@timebob - Katie was worth $25 million before her marriage? Seriously? From Dawson's Creek???

I thought it was against the rules for the inmates to be online, because they might stumble on the truth. They should google LRH cause of death. Sorry, kids, he died of a stroke. Doesn't that make him PTS or SP or some other acronym you loons are so crazy about?

    ReplyDelete
  90. Unless Katie starts talking, I don't want to hear anything else about this divorce. He bought Mimi and Nicole's silence, so she's our last chance to get a real comment on life with Tom. Of course, if she says he's totally normal and they totally had sex, then I'll write it off as more of the marriage/divorce agreement anyway.

We need a mole inside this camp!

    ReplyDelete
  91. "Unless Katie starts talking, I don't want to hear anything else about this divorce."

People need to let go of the expectation that Katie is going to say anything scandalous about Tom. Even if there isn't a gag clause in the settlement, Katie would open herself up to a real custody battle if she slagged Tom.

Let it go. Ain't gonna happen.

Katie is "talking" by doing things like registering as a Catholic parishoner.

    ReplyDelete
  92. You know who I'd like to hear from? PENELOPE CRUZ!! Remember how she "dated" GMD for yeeeaaaarrrs??? I wonder what she has on him? and how much she got paid??

    ReplyDelete
  93. Katie's priority is her daughter and Penelope's is her career. We aren't going to hear either lady say anything earth-shattering or negative about the GMD. Both will play nicey nicey.

    ReplyDelete
  94. What we may get is more and more-detailed dish about Tom and Tom & Katie's marriage from people in the biz. Katie's not gonna talk, but others will. I think that there are a lot of people in Hollywood who do want to get the word out about Tom and COS. The less they fear COS, the more they'll talk.

    ReplyDelete
  95. She joined a Catholic church!? Perhaps the only "religion" worse than Scientology.

    ReplyDelete
  96. But does Tom get unsupervised time with Suri? If Katie can't keep her daughter away from the Co$ auditing, what is the point of all the cleverness?

    ReplyDelete
  97. @timebob I agree but I doubt Katie would.

@another Josh word but I grew up in a Catholic Church and it's not as bad. It is on paper but not in practice. Co$ being newer... The stakes aren't as high. I've renounced my faith but my upbringing in the Church is nothing like CoS.

  98. B. Profane, thanks for posting that. It's funny reading the Xenus description of Marty Rathbun, I was waiting for them to call him an SP. I feel bad for Nicole, I think Cruise and she did have some sort of real relationship, whatever that was, and then he got deeper into it and she was the enemy. If Tom turns on Suri, it will be the same in reverse.

Also, now I'm confused on the Rock Center specials. I set the DVR for tomorrow because I thought that was on the difficulty of ex-Xenu worshipers but now this one says the 17th, so next week. Guess I'll record both.

    ReplyDelete
  99. But more importantly, how did B. Profane insert a clicky link?

    ReplyDelete
  100. Make links clicky by using the anchor tag:

    http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_a.asp

(Jeez, I do this stuff for a living, you'd think I'd remember basic HTML tags...)

    ReplyDelete
  101. People will believe anything I swear. I told you all there would be no grand divorce, shit was agreed on months ago. Last meeting in Iceland was the meeting to tell the world what was PLANNED

    ReplyDelete
  102. @B.Profane!
Thanks!! I still have no idea how to do it, but I will google "Anchor tags for dummies". P.S. My husband's a CTO, and I'm computer illiterate. I'm sure you can imagine the frustrating convos in our home :)

  103. @surfer- the Bond chick shot down that rumor very quickly and issued a statement about being happy with her boyfriend. I just read it on Celeb/bitchy.

    ReplyDelete
  104. First time commenter and long time lurker here…

This speculation is so much FUN and I just want to add some more pepper to the gumbo. Let's agree that KH must’ve had AUDIO or VIDEO of Tommy Boy. Nothing less. Anything that she or any of her peeps could leak about him (no matter how damning) would be dismissed as “unsubstantiated rumors “ created by the tabloid media and CO$ haters, etc. Not to mention a breach of the NDA. I’m telling you, audio or video of him jumping up and down like a Tasmanian Devil berating her, or calling her names, or boning some dude. I’m going with those CZ diamond earrings with the microphones that Mel Gibson’s GF supposedly used. But when I hear about him approving every purchase, etc., that makes me wonder if she had to receive something as a “gift” from a family member to get a recording device in his vicinity? I also wonder about their houses being bugged and Xfinity Home Security to the max. OMG – I can feel myself descending into madness.

Secondly, I think everyone is reading WAY too much into her smirks, smiles, expressions, etc. in the last years of their marriage. Like trying to attach emotions after the fact? Yes, KH was an actress when they met but she wasn’t a polished red carpet queen. You can see that in the press of them together in the beginning. She had a big open mouthed smile with jagged uncapped/un-whitened teeth showing everywhere, her eyes were half closed, her nose was scrunched-up (cute, like a chipmunk) but it was still scrunched up in an expression that us “regular folks” would make. You know, a genuine laugh or smile? After the PR machine got a hold of her, she stood up straighter, showed less teeth, knew how to hold her head so it didn’t look like she had a double chin (the horror) and she was “emoting” or whatever they call it. Near the end when she had those dead eyes and after she escaped she wasn’t even smiling at ALL. You guys are calling them “knowing smirks” but I just think she was pressing her lips together like we would do if we just missed a subway and had to wait for another one. No smirks. Just lip pressing behind sunglasses for the cameras. Putting up a front.

Penelope Cruz? Puh-LEEEZE! She banged her way up the popularity ladder with every single co-star she had as soon as she started in the U.S. McConaughey, Nick Cage (wasn’t there a pix of them exiting a hotel when he was married or living w/ someone?) Johnny Depp, then Cruise. She played the game and used all those guys to get name recognition/exposure in Hollywood. She’s got her Oscar, her man and her kid, she’s not speaking out against GMD. That’s another thing about everyone saying KH is slow in the post-Tom career track. She JUST escaped. The crazy has to get washed-off of her. Kidman didn’t get her Oscar until AFTER Tom, Penelope didn’t get hers until AFTER Tom. Wait for it and she’ll at least get a Golden Globe nomination for something in a few years. Someone else who hasn’t surfaced yet will blow the lid off of CO$. Don’t hold your breath for KH to do it.

P.S. I know it’s an old rumor but GMD totally had to be doing Jeremy Renner. I finally saw MI4 the other day and their hands are all over each other. I know it’s a physical movie, but there are 2 scenes where GMD’s hands are on JR’s lower back/ass area for WAY too long. Yes, I am officially adding emotions after the fact!

    ReplyDelete
  105. @Astrid - I never for a second believed that spin. I was just saying this "his" PR team was off and running.

And can you blame that girl for wanting to shoot down that particular rumor? I mean really, who wants the stench of COS attached to them, even if no one would believe it anyway?

    ReplyDelete
  106. The way Katie orchestrated this whole divorce, leads me to believe that she should run for political office, maybe even president when she is old enough.

  107. I still believe its all going exactly to plan.

    @ Elizabeth:

The comment section on that URL site that you posted was VERY informative. Wow!

  109. This whole story has become so cloak and dagger! Holmes has my admiration for pulling this off so perfectly and secretly. I feel sorry for the fourth Mrs. Cruise because TC will know all the tricks.

I bet TC won't have any contact with Suri.

  110. Dear Katie,
If you read this, take this advice about your trash:
buy a cross cut shredder- shred EVERYTHING, then when you are ready to throw out your trash, pour a pot of coffee, the grinds, and 2 eggs into the trash bag.

Everything will stain & the eggs will totally stink in about a day. They'll get nothing on you!!!

My friend did this during a very nasty divorce after she found out that her ex hired a PI.

Yeah, I grew-up Catholic and went to Catholic school my whole life, even went to a Jesuit college. It never bothered me like it bothered a lot of people I grew-up with. I got my twins baptized and will put them in Catholic schools because that is what I know. My family was/is culturally Catholic, but not the firmest believers.

  112. This whole story has the feel I used to get when people would relate their experiences about trying to escape from behind the Iron Curtain during the Cold War. Cloak and dagger, indeed!

    ReplyDelete
  113. I like the idea that Katie Holmes had to organize the whole conspiracy with burners.

I wonder if she has any yellow tops or spider bags.

Tom needs to get Cool Lester Smooth to monitor his next wife.

  114. I use flour and syrup after shredding- very effective.

    Rob Thomas, really?

    ReplyDelete
  115. Ha! Good for her.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Haha CDan Reader, Welcome to the party!!! Now I'm going to have to watch MI4 to catch the knowing glances and soft embraces between Tommy Girl and Renner.

    ReplyDelete
  117. @ CDan Reader - welcome and I LOVED your post. That reason would be the ONLY reason I would watch a MI movie.

Vicki will be crushed if it's true. :(

Wow, so many "abused" women here. The quotes are for the "emotional abuse" claims, as that is definitely not the same as physical abuse; the latter is ILLEGAL. Not only that, but women "emotionally abuse" men a great deal more. That society has a double-standard doesn't chaneg this.

Instead of villifying the "abusive" men, focus should be on why women CHOOSE these men in the first place. The same women who cry about their "abusers" are often extremely abusive (emotionally) to the decent men they overlook for their thugs.

Smart men learn to tune out this whining by "emotionally abused" women. Many men "control" their women because a) women LIKE it, and b) without monitoring, the women will lie, cheat, stray, etc. Heck, many NBA wives are the same way with their men and no one calls THEM abusers.

That women allow such a blatant bias in their favor to persist says all one needs to know about their sense of fair play. That they choose so poorly sends a message to men that is irrefutable: the best man does not win.
