Naomi Watts is terrific. But she is so small and frail compared to Diana. Diana was a tall, well-built, solid woman. Athletic, comparatively.

It's been so long since Katie has smiled in public these recent photos of her seem like a huge weight has been lifted and she can relax and be happy. I can't imaging plotting a divorce for a year.

Lainey had an interesting observation yesterday that usually celebrities handle things like custody, divorce, etc. very privately and tend to settle to keep it out of the public eye. She pointed out how intrusive the paparazzi is and then stated that if the paparazzi/tabloids/gossip columns/public (pick your poison), is where Katie's running TO...what the hell is she running FROM?

ReplyDelete@libby - I'm normally a sticker about factual movies, myself, but in this case I'm okay with Naomi playing Diana. As a Diana fan, I'd rather have an actress who is an extremely competent actress but not necessarily a doppelganger, rather than a look-alike who's completely wooden. (I've seen enough TV movies about Diana that do the latter!) Just my deux centimes.

I'm not just some bitter heavy person, I promise--I'm a bitter thin-to-average person. I just wish more actors of both genders looked more like regular people.

heidi has great skin. even if my bod looked like that my skin would not. i curse my pasty ancestors! ahe always acts upbeat, which i'm sure is difficult sometimes. i appreciate her not going on and on about her difficulities like some other celebs (garth, aniston).

ReplyDeleteThat's almost always how I feel about casting decisions, too. In the same vein, I really think the HP PTB shot themselves in the foot by trying to find kids that closely resembled the characters' descriptions. They'd have been better off just getting the best actors the right age (including looking beyond the UK, if necessary.)
I'll forgive just about anything if the actor embodies the spirit of the role, whether it's a character or real person.
Also, Mischa looks BETTER, but still awful compared to what she could have looked like now if only she had stayed away from the booze and drugs. That's why the picture made me sad for her (and I'm not a fan. I cheered when they killed Marissa off on The O.C.)
