Samantha Ronson Hates Paris Hilton
I believe that now with Samantha Ronson in the hate category for Paris Hilton that would put the world total somewhere at 3 or 4 billion haters. Paris would say that means there are a billion or two people who actually like here. I would counter with the fact they have no television and no access to any media and have never heard of her. Samantha has joined the I Hate Paris ranks because Paris keeps trying to pretend she is a DJ and is stealing work from people who are actual DJ's. Sam told TMZ, "That sh*t with [Paris]. It's like, c'mon man. She's tried everything now. Just put some quality behind the sh*t that you do. Put some effort into it. If you're just like, oh I want to figure out how I can make more money this week, it insults the people that work really hard at it. It's like me calling myself a doctor from reading WebMD twice."
Wait, that doesn't make you a doctor? The next thing you are going to tell me is that when I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express that didn't qualify me either. Hmmm. I'm really enjoying watching Paris Hilton trying to stay relevant and in the public eye and am counting down the days until all the Kardashians are in the same position.
I thought it was already established that EVERYONE hates Paris Hilton?
ReplyDeleteSamantha sounds bitter which leads me to believe that deep down she's jealous. It's still a free country. Paris really doesn't bother me. Her travails were far more interesting than anything the Kardashians have done, that's for sure.
ReplyDelete@ angel, I liked the part where Paris' storage unit got emptied out and there were boxes of Valtrex and sex tapes.
ReplyDeletelmaooo.. omg, I forgot all about that, yes! Classic Paris ;)
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't miss them if the Kardashians and Paris Hilton all dropped off the radar completely. Never could stand any of them. I will say, however, that at least Kim Kardashian has a decent body and a face that doesn't look like it belongs on a Clorox bottle. Paris Hilton, on the other hand, is butt-ugly.
ReplyDeleteOk, slow down Samantha. Are you comparing a doctor to a dj? Years of education vs a Macbook. Ok, sure, good point. I hate when people use really stupid comparisons.
ReplyDeleteparis looks like she was rode hard and put away wet..and somehow managed to fall out of the fugly tree and hit every damn branch on the way down.
ReplyDeleteI doubt Sam is too worried about losing work to Paris, but I'm sure it's annoying to see her get publicity for it when that's all she really wants. Paris is desperate for another wave of interest, which I think will eventually look more like the snippets of Pam Anderson dancing on cars or in restaurants that make it on TMZ on a slow news day.
ReplyDeleteEven worse for Paris, I don't think 99% of the people who even remember her name anymore even care enough to hate her anymore. She's slipped below "meh" to "whatever."
ReplyDeleteOh Samantha...Anybody can be a dj with a macbook and a headset nowadays.
ReplyDeleteHell, I think even playing DJ Hero (whatever its called) can make you qualified.
Lame reason to hate her. Samantha herself was once a newbie, and tried different things to see what would/wouldn't work for her. It isn't an insult to anyone for a newcomer to give it a shot - whether they are good at it or not.
ReplyDeleteAlso, did she forget all the criticism Lindsay Lohan got when she released her album?
Newsflash, Ms. Ronson: YOU'RE A CLUB DJ WHO IS ONLY SEMI-FAMOUS BECAUSE OF A PERSON YOU SLEPT WITH.
ReplyDeleteSounds very similar to Paris' claim to fame, doesn't it?
Really! Dj- ing records is not a talent. Get over yasef.
DeleteI totally get it and the webmd comment was hysterical!!! I'm in the beauty profession getting my third certification now bc I'm passionate about making women feel good about themselves inside and out. On the first day of my new class the teacher asked us to introduce ourselves and say why we are here. I was the only one who didn't say and half of them in broken English "to get job". I find it offensive and I don't care if your a doctor or a nail technician. When you feel passion that drives you to come up with new ideas while you sleep, you will be pissed off that others think they can sneak in and grab a few bucks. What saves me is that I know their clients will end up with me because I'm the one who really cares about them and the others will be gone when clients stop handing Over their $$
ReplyDeleteI am so confused about what DJs actually do. What is Sam Ronson creating? Don't they mix up other people's music? Do they actually write music? Geez, I should stop making fun of them if that's true.
ReplyDeleteOh Topper, Ronson is also mildly recognized because her brother has a successful real career.
ReplyDeleteBarton, she's also the product of a well-placed British family, the stepdaughter of Foreigner guitarist Mick Jones, and a graduate of The Chapin School. Connections, darling, connections.
ReplyDeleteSo Sam is perhaps a lot more like Paris than she'd care to admit!
ReplyDeleteHer brother is hot
ReplyDelete(fixed that for you stillhere) :)
@Kats, what does "broken english" have to do with anything? Doesn't matter why anyone is there, it's whether or not they can do the job. Paris and Samantha are playing music, they aren't treating people or doing anything that requires a certificate or a degree. If they are bad at it, the club stops hiring them.
ReplyDeleteanybody remember Samantha on Ellen trying to squawk out a song. Hey, Sam, singers who spend their whole lives at their crafts don't get cushy spots on talk shows because of who they are or who they are related to. But you did and I didn't see you turning down the gig. Don't throw stones from glass houses.
ReplyDeleteSaying that, I still think Paris is a piece of STD shit.

ReplyDeletesorry...I dont care if the person who does my hair or nails has a passion for the work, I just care that they do a good job.
ReplyDeleteI find the fact that you had to mention their broken English unneccessary.
I never even heard of her brother, although I have heard of some of the people he's produced.
ReplyDeleteThe only reason she's mentioned in tabloids is because she slept with Lindsay Lohan. Period.
No defending Herpes Hilton, but Samantha Ronson has some nerve. If she didn't have a famous bed partner, I'd have no clue who she is. She compared DJing with medicine? Bitch might need to call WebMD to help extract her head out of her own ass.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Paris Hilton is just to the pop culture universe what George Plimpton was to the world of sports in the 1960's. The main difference is Plimpton would make an ass of himself trying to compete with real pros on an NFL or NHL team or on the PGA Tour & write very funny books about the experiences.
ReplyDeleteParis can't spell her own name much less write a book. At least Plimpton knew his lack of athletic skill was the punch line of Paper Lion, The Bogey Man and Open Net.
I like anyone who insults Paris Hilton.
ReplyDeleteShe sucks.
oh Topper, you should look up his band, they are actually really, really good, one of my faves-- Mark Ronson and the Business International. He is definitely talented in his own right, without the family connections.
ReplyDeleteEasier to list the people who like her...
ReplyDeleteI remember when Paris and her pals (Kim? someone else?) were driving around Hollywood harassing Paris' boyfriend's older ex-girlfriend (I think she was all of 40!) by calling her "Old Lady". Now Paris is 31...time waits for no one, not even horrendous, racist, classist, spoiled entitled rich girls,
ReplyDeleteI find the "broken English" comment irrelevant and offensive. Yep, not everyone is a native speaker and is as passionate about their job. But kudos to them for becoming educated and attempting a career. We need more folks like that and less people: (1) sitting on their asses on welfare for no good reason, (2) working under the table and not paying taxes, (3) faking disability. Get off your high horse.
ReplyDeleteWell, Sam may not have much talent herself, but she isn't wrong about Paris. I can't totally hate on someone that has enough sense not to like PH.
ReplyDelete@Kats, I hope that you get the opportunity to travel at some point. I hope you are lucky enough to find yourself in some exotic locale (and I don't mean Cancun) where you need locals to help you with something and you don't speak the language. Also, to see the circumstances from which many people come to America in order to improve. I've found that traveling---real travel---is the best education of humanity.
ReplyDelete@MLE: my thoughts exactly!
ReplyDeleteThey're both spoiled, born with a silver spoon assholes.
ReplyDeleteFirst off...Paris couldn't steal a DJ gig from anybody. If I were having a party, I'd hire Samantha without any hesitation to be the DJ (if I could afford it). Paris would be hired to clean up after the party was over.
ReplyDeleteI recently watched a video of a dj 'show' Paris did in South America, and the kindest thing to say is it was total FAIL. There are probably 12-13 yr old kids who could do a better job than she did. Maybe she should do philanthropy, because she doesn't have much by way of natural talents.
ReplyDeletehey look, everybody. Paris still has one person left that loves her:
ReplyDeletehttp://gawker.com/5924461/man-in-stand+off-with-police-demands-to-marry-paris-hilton
You know, I really miss Paris Hilton. Even though she was evil and sociopathic,I don't think she was as evil as the Kardashians. I can't believe I'm saying this..
ReplyDeleteI thought the old fashioned DJs with albums and all that thought Sam Ronson's form of DJing with a computer was "not working really hard at it" and just making money, not being a real DJ. So that's ironic.
ReplyDeleteNew topic
If a perfect English speaker found herself in a refugee situation in a foreign country and needed to find a job before she mastered the new language, do you think she'd describe her chosen field in terms of nuance and passion and how others feel, or as a needed job? Right. It's hard to describe in detail when you don't know the words yet, and new Americans don't have the luxury of mastering the language before needing to work. Just saying. Also, it's all good that you have a passion for your work, it really is because I wish I did, and you will get people who come to you for that, because when you love what you do it shows, but: I also left a very good stylist in high school because every time she worked on me, I was a captive audience to her negativity about "those people" (whoever she didn't like that day). I'd come out looking 80s fantastic with the big hair perms, but I didn't like the commentary, so I quit using her. So good luck in your chosen field, enjoy having a passion for your work, but remember that compassion beats out passion in the long run.
I thought about hiring Paris to DJ a party, but I went in a different direction. Now Daft Punk is playing in my house, my house. You've got to set them up. You've got to set them up.
ReplyDeleteNot about Paris, I'll just add that in my very-multicultural Rust Belt city, our ethnic groups cluster together, which terribly hinders their conversational English.
ReplyDeleteEvery group around here has 'their own' salons, and I'm thrilled to hear that any woman wants to better herself AND open a business!
It would be different if she was *actually* mixing. The video of her at that festival clearly has a dude reaching over to adjust stuff and she is just doing the "epileptic gibbon" dance that she does.
ReplyDeleteat least Sam Ronson can actually string two tracks together. regardless of whether it's ableton/serrato enhanced or not, she is actually doing the mixing. Not just jumping around and pretending.
reminds me of when Jesus Lux (or whatever Madge's boytoy was) was "dj-ing" when you could clearly see that the mixer he was tweaking had NO CABLES PLUGGED INTO IT.
Some shift of the paradigm happen recently we're not aware of? Everyone hates Paris. And honestly, Ronson's not too far behind.
ReplyDeleteSo sue me, but I've heard Sam Ronson DJ a couple of times and she's actually talented. They were very different venues and she read the crowd really well and kept the floor moving. Oldies, new pop, hip hop...great transitions and a sense of humor. The girl knows what she's doing on the turntables.
ReplyDeleteI also like her tunes a lot. She can't sing for shit but she writes all her own stuff and it's smart and catchy. Yeah she gets a boost from her family connections but what else is new? Girl works hard and backs it up, and she's nice to clubbers. I get tired of people hating on her because of Lilo.
"...at least Sam Ronson can actually string two tracks together. regardless of whether it's ableton/serrato enhanced or not, she is actually doing the mixing. Not just jumping around and pretending."
ReplyDeleteCrossfading from one track to the next isn't mixing. A real DJ can make up a new song on the fly by mixing LP tracks. I don't think that Ronson can really mix.
@luckylass, Anita and MLE
ReplyDeleteGood on you, I feel the same, women have been downtrodden for too long, we should smile and welcome any new face, especially foreign. Give them your support and strength Kats not your ridicule.
none of you turds have never heard samantha spin. she has more taken in her pinky than you do in your entire inbread family. You all just hate for the sake of hating to make your own mudane lives bearable. Paris might suck at being a dJ but sam is a prO.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely agree with Ricky here; Sam was a pretty well-known DJ way before hooking up with LiLo. She is considered to be pretty good at it, too.
ReplyDeleteShe has also hated Paris with a vengeance for years, and I actually suspect that Paris is doing this just to piss her off even further. Sam hated Paris back when Paris and Nicole Richie were besties, and didn't try to hide it either.
I like Sam Ronson. A lot.
WERD!
ReplyDeleteProof that any fucking moron with a pulse can be a 'DJ'
ReplyDeleteThat is why Robson is miffed. She is only a 'famous' dj because of her brother and munching Lohan box.
