Usher's Stepson is In Critical Condition

So, last night I was doing my usual drinking. It was the kind of night where you run out of booze early so make the mistake to switch to wine. Drinking wine after you are already drunk just makes it taste like grape juice which means you end up drinking way way more than you should. So, there I was, watching some Jillian Michaels weight loss infomercial and reading gossip. I read about Usher and his stepson, and I was wondering if he got married again without me knowing it and it took me a good ten minutes before I realized he is still married to Tameka Foster. This is the longest divorce ever. Didn't they split up when Ashlee Simpson was still popular? Anyway, Usher's 11 year old stepson was critically injured when he was struck by someone on a jet ski. That is so tragic. I feel for both Usher and Tameka. I wish there was some way to protect every kid until they are adults for them and their parents.

  1. Buddy of mine in the Coast Guard on the Great Lakes says Jet Skis are the #1 cause of death and injury (including paralysis) on the water. People get on them drunk all the time.

  2. The boy was hit in the face by the jet ski. I hope he pulls through it. I think he's in a coma right now. Usher chartered a private plane for Tameka to be with her son.

  3. Cant even imagine. Poor child.

  4. I feel so bad for Tameka. God bless her and her son.

  5. How awful.. I hope there's no brain damage. Perhaps the coma he's in is a hospital induced one to keep him stabilized.

  6. I actually feel bad for her. But, I can't help but think of karma, and it's sad that fact exist. Mr. Usher seems to be a stand up person for those in his life. I agree, jet ski owners are like highway speeders on the water. This is why a lot of places have banned them on their lakes. I would expect more of this to happen.

  7. There is no karma that should allow a child to be hurt. Ridiculous.
This is a very sad event. From what I read he was just floating on an inner tube. Can you imagine how the driver of the jet ski must feel?
    There are no winners here.

  8. I too read the headline and though he must have gotten married again. Can't believe they are not divorced YET!

  9. This is just so senseless. I hope this child pulls through. It doesn't look good, though. :( I imagine both Tameka and Usher are feeling a lot of hurt right now. That was good of Usher to give her his private plane, considering the nastiness of the divorce proceedings. Then again, it was the right thing to do.

  10. I... What do you mean Karma because that is extremely rude her son has nothing to do with tamika and usher issues with each other.

    ReplyDelete
  11. That's right @Kim's World, Karma has nothing to do with any of the children. I wish the best for her and her son. Never wish this on anyone.

  12. as much as those two hate each other, Usher really stepped up as a man from what I read on TMZ Tameka was extremely grateful to him for the private plane. Maybe there next court appearance won't be so hostile. Hope the little boy pulls through ok.

  13. I would tend to think, going to the press and filing lawsuits complaining about Usher being this horrid parent, would be somewhat karmic. I'm sorry, but what child doesn't suffer for the actions and choices of their parent[s]? If you think bad, and speak bad, bad things can happen to you. This saying is older than anyone reading this. The very man she's been publicly bad mouthing is the same person standing there with helpful loving open arms and wallet. A part of me believes he's the same person everyday, all day.

  14. This isn't karma.

This is a fucking tragedy. I hope this kid survives, but I don't see how this is going to end well.

My question, how fucking drink or stupid do you have to be to hit someone while on a jet ski. I hope the man whose fault this is is charged.

And if this does anything, it may bring to warring people back to reality of what is important and what's not.

My prayers are with the family.

  15. ^^excuse me, DRUNK...(I'm a mother and this hurts me inside, so I can't even imagine the mother's pain).

  16. It was wonderful of him to send a private jet for her to get to her son. That shows a lot of class in my book. Who has gone through a messy divorce and saw even one ounce of compassion from the other side?

I've been on jet skis lots of times and have witnessed accidents. Luckily no one was seriously hurt. I rode behind my 13 yr. old son through San Diego bay once and I was scared to death. All it takes is a credit card and anybody can rent one. The wakes from other boats can make steering hard and once you've fallen off it can be hard to get back on.

  17. Karma? I know a couple's words and actions can backfire on each other, but karma has nothing to do with a tragedy like this. Their divorce didn't put her child in harm's way. The only person who deserves the blame in this situation is that idiot on the jet ski.

Anyway, I'm glad that Usher stepped up and I hope the boy recovers.

  18. Karma is when you badmouth/mistreat your employees for years, and you end up getting fired and can't get more work. THIS is a tragic accident. Big difference.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I personally feel like no matter what Usher would have given her the use of the jet because if he didn't it would have made him look bad and doesn't need anything to further hurt his image. She wasnt the only person that were saying bad things because they both have over the past.

PS In no way do I think he doesn't care about her son.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Definitely a tragedy. If you think about it, Usher's bad karma could have manifested through this tragedy.

I think of the deep internal anguish you would feel inside when a child of yours is seriously injured or sick. Yes, his stepson sadly also pays and probably more so, but this is no walk in the park for Usher mentally and emotionally. Bad karma is possible.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Let's leave karma out of this one, OK? A child is seriously hurt, and I pray he pulls through this with no brain damage...it doesn't look good, but kids can be surprisingly resilient. *sigh* And yes, lending her the plane was the decent thing to do; no matter what their feelings are regarding each other, I'm guessing that he cares about the little boy and knows he's what important here.

  22. TMZ is reporting that the little boy is brain dead. How horrible. :(

    ReplyDelete
  23. Usher's 11-year-old stepson has been declared brain dead. RIP :(

  24. I'm choking up here and don't even know them. What a tragedy.

  25. whoever hit her son better leave the country that woman will hunt him down and de-ball him one at a time.

RIP poor thing, never had a chance at life.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Oh no! Now they are saying he is brain dead. :(

    ReplyDelete
  27. I came here just to see what everyone is saying. Karma in no way had nothing to do with this little boy. Fuck you for even allowing yourself to type such bullshit.
I can't even fathom sitting there, praying for my son not to leave me. Horrible. Horrible. Sending prayers to the family.
    Welcome home Kyle.

  28. Really karma? I hope karma kicks your a** for making such a dumb comment. My prayers are with the family right now, especially his mother Tameka.

I believe in karma, but this situation and karma have nothing in common. It's a tragedy, a terrible accident.

I can't begin to imagine what that family is going through. May they find the strength to get through this. :-(

  30. And this is partly why I don't believe in Karma or in "everything happening according to God's plan" (and I'm a Christian). I believe life events happen largely at random and how we act and react determines what purpose we pull out of it. There's a purpose and a destination, but there is no "plan." It's the only way life makes sense to me.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. But it seems those of you making derogatory comments toward anothers opinion is BAD KARMA.

Hoping my ass gets kicked??! That'll come back to you, not me. If you understand karma, that is.

It seems some of you are uneducated on the topic.

First off, if you believe in karma then you believe your bad karma from past lives can be paid in your current life. Karma doesn't wait til you're 18 to manifest.

I'm not trying to pin karma on his stepson nor do I disagree that this is a terrible tragedy, but if you've paid attention to his divorce trial there's some obvious bad karma coming Usher's way. The bad actions of a parent can cause children to have negative thoughts toward that parent which is also BAD KARMA.

Nonetheless, the mental anguish of watching a child suffer could absolutely be paying for bad karma.

My comments were meant for Usher. NOT his stepson.

  32. What a tragic, horrible story. That poor little innocent boy...

    ReplyDelete
  33. I'm so so sorry for their loss. I cannot imagine how anyone in the family must be feeling.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Using this incident to press your own beliefs...man oh man if I believed in karma I would wish it upon thee.

RIP innocent little one. All you were doing was trying to enjoy yourself in an innertube.

I have no idea how close Usher was to this child, nor his (still) wife. I just think this whole thing is tragic.

Saying "It's karma" is an assholian thing to do. Again, I wish karma was real and thus those of you crying it out will feel it one day.

Well no, actually I don't. I would not wish such a thing on anyone, no matter how vile they are behind a keyboard.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I mean, how puffed up can one get to justify karma over a child who basically is dead.
Can you imagine being in a hospital with the same situation and someone putting a hand on your shoulder saying, ” You must of had some bad karma.”
    Idiot.

  36. horrible! we had an ugly incident here a few years back w/ a child water skiing and a jet ski. the rope was longer than was legal and the jet ski was speeding. everyone is out for a good time, and i guess its vacation and you forget there is still danger. what a terrible tragedy.

  37. I heard about this last night on the news. There were brothers or cousins being towed on a tube, and someone in their own party hit them!!!! There was supposedly no alcohol involved.

Tameka is a friend of a friend and so a note came up to please pray for Kyle. I did a news search and realized why she was asking for prayers. I had no idea that this was the accident in question!! I will listen to a re-play of the news or tomorrow's news to see if they have locally released the news.

A couple of weeks ago, a set of brothers were knocked off their boat and drowned, due to a drunk driver.

Having just buried a little brother a month ago, in a surgery that was supposedly routine, how dare anyone blame karma. Yes, karma is a bee-itch, but I never thought about it killing someone. My brother had 2 young children and his wife just found out she was pregnant again, after he had passed. He just finished medical school and he was applying for his residency.

I consider both of these tragedies. Neither deserved to die. Before posting something so in-sensitive, please think about how you would feel if that were your child. Tameka might be the biggest gold digger in ATL, but her poor son did not deserve this, nor was it karma. RIP little Kyle!! May God be with your extended family and friends right now!!

  38. Poor boy, I can't imagine loosing a child. No matter what we do it's so hard to protect our children.

  39. @ i .. I loosely mention the concept of Karma at times as another way of saying 'what goes around, comes around' - to a person who inflicts some form of evil on others. My understanding of it, and I think for most others, is that what comes around directly affects the perpetrator as a naturally occurring consequence of their bad actions, not some unseen force that targets innocent bystanders who had no part in causing any trouble.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Karma has nothing to do with this as this isn't Usher's kid. The boy has a father and surely he didn't do anything to deserve this and no one is talking about his pain. Yes, he's the man Tameka was married to when she started screwing Usher and then divorced him to marry her wealthier catch. People do shitty things and shitty stuff happens, people do upstanding things and shitty stuff happens. It's called LIFE.

    ReplyDelete
  41. And the divorce itself is over as they are divorced. They're battling over custody of their two sons.

    ReplyDelete
  42. @Snowstorms, I'm so sorry about your younger brother! That does sound like a horrific tragedy for so many people.

    ReplyDelete
  43. i, what do you think the son did do to deserve this? Karma is what comes around, goes around. It's not a punishment for someone else. I'd hate to even imagine what the rest of us "deserve".

  44. People really need to take a water safety course *and* a legit driver's test before getting on a jet ski or boat because shit like this happens too often. I hear Ontario has made it law now. That's where my Dad got run over by a boat many years ago. He wasn't far from shore, in the lake beside his canoe. Some idiot was driving his boat with the nose way up and looking at the water skiier rather than where he was going. My Dad very nearly died. Suffice it to say, I'm not a big fan of boats or being in a lake that has a lot of them going by.

Such a senseless death. Poor child. Poor Mom and Dad/Stepdad.

  45. Thanks figgy. I hadn't planned on mentioning anything, but the karma stuff did me in. Never liked Tameka and not a fan of Usher - save his music - but the karma stuff?!?

I know the Bible teaches sins of a father are passed down through the ages, and I have seen plenty of tragedies in a family that made me wonder, but the most famous case you hear talked about is the Kennedys. They just "tend" to be over indulged and/or fans of extreme sports. Still, I never think about this Bible verse when a child dies in a senseless tragedy (of any age), except the Kennedy family - and that is only because whenever something happens to that family, at least one reporter mentions it.

  47. This is a tragedy. Kind of Usher as I'm sure he has watched this child grow up. Tameka was his personal stylist for quite some time before they became involved. I'm sure he was concerned about the child as reports say he spent the 1st night in the hospital with the family. My thoughts are with this child and his family.
Please be careful with the water activities folks!
