Blind Item #1
What former almost A- list movie actress who is now still all movies all the time but has pretty much been reduced to indies. Ahh, she used to be a popcorn queen. The drinking cost her a lot of jobs. That and the complaining about wanting to do something more than popcorn movies. Anyway, our actress was at events twice in the past week and busted with booze in hand and stopped the photographers mid-stream and found someone who was drinking something that did not look booze and then allowed the photographers to take the photos. She said, "I will lose my next job if anyone sees me drinking. I just can't stop. I love it."
Sean Young
ReplyDeleteKirsten Dunst?
ReplyDeleteYep, Kirsten Dunst.
ReplyDeleteMarisa Tomei
ReplyDeleteKirsten, probably. I wonder if actresses like her and Scarlett live the way they do because they have achieved the heights of moviestardom and realize that they will never make a decent film. The industry picks them up, treats them like royalty for two or three films, then moves on. I'd drink too.
ReplyDeleteSure sounds like Kirsten Drunkst. She was at the premiere of The Bachelorette last week. If you search recent images of her, you'd think she was sponsored by Coca Cola, she's displaying the bottle so prominently.
ReplyDeleteI hope this isn't Kirsten. I really like her as an actress. I want her to be like Drew Barrymore, a child star who stumbles a few times but eventually survives it all.

ReplyDeleteKirsten D?
ReplyDeleteAlcohol gets a helluva hold on some people.
ReplyDeleteSpiderman 3 caused me to drink a lot too.
ReplyDeleteI was totally thinking Kirsten Dunst.
ReplyDeleteGeorgina Wendt!
ReplyDeletedjphob- classic avi! i grew up watching mr. rogers and its good to see him show us how he really feels.
ReplyDeleteI dont get drinking at all. As a teen, indrank a few times, and got migraine, stomach sick, hoarse. You also smell, taste like you ate a cotton ball. I decided drinking was not for me, i dont drink to this day. Again, i dont get the allure.
ReplyDeleteMe either. Give me a bong and I am set!
DeleteDefinitely Kirsten Drunk
ReplyDeletelol rejectedcarebear
ReplyDelete@auntliddy: But for some, drinking feels just so awesome while it's happening that you put up with the side effects. People with addiction feel more complete when drunk/high.
ReplyDeleteHad to look up the meaning of "popcorn movie". The KD movies I can think of off the top of my head don't fit that description. The last one I saw was "Melancholia", which was the complete opposite of a popcorn movie.
ReplyDeleteLike I said before Alchohol should be illegal! I am glad it is not though because I love it too!!!!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I thought Kirsten too.
ReplyDeleteKirsten Dunst is not known for being in popcorn movies. Definitely not her.
ReplyDeleteYeah your right those three spiderman movies were typical art house fills.
DeleteUm, the Spider man movies weren't popcorn flicks, naughtyvicar?!?
ReplyDeleteAnd Bring It On, it's her. I like her, hope she gets it together.
ReplyDeleteWould Winona Ryder be considered former A-?
ReplyDeleteKirsten Dunst...all the way.
ReplyDeleteAre the people above allergic to alcohol or something? I might get a hangover if I drink way too much but why would moderate drinking cause ill effects?
ReplyDeleteThe Spiderman movies were definitely popcorn movies. Wasn't she in Jumanji, too? Also a popcorn movie.
ReplyDeleteCould be KD.
Two beers or a scotch does something bad to me. I don't drink either. I drink other stuff but not much and not often. Drunk women get scary skin! There must be some similarity between the way scotch and beer are created.
ReplyDeleteBacon martinis are good!
Does sound like Sean Young. Wonderful person in real life but getting drunk and saying what everyone else is thinking has cost her.
ReplyDeleteDoes sound like Sean Young. Wonderful person in real life but getting drunk and saying what everyone else is thinking has cost her.
ReplyDeleteI am really bad at these... the only person I thought of was Tara Reid.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely Dunst. She didn't do Melancholia for the sake of high art. She did it because she needed the work.
ReplyDeleteI never liked Snaggletooth as an actress, but I feel for her. I was a drunk for about 10 years. Ruined my career. By God's grace, I met my husband, and he decided to take a chance on saving me. I knew he would leave me if I even looked at another drop. Too late to salvage my career, but thanks to him and God I have a beautiful home and a family, my health, and a second chance at life.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your story has a happy ending Turkish Taffy :)
DeleteTara Reid was never "almost A-list". My vote's for Kirsten Dunst.
ReplyDeleteAs for alcohol, I was never a big drinker, but in the last year can't touch the stuff at all. I get wicked migraines if I have so much as 1 glass of wine/beer/etc. To me it's no big loss, but I can see how it might be an issue for others who genuinely like the ritual.
Kirsten came to mind reading that. I really like her as an actress, I hope she can get it together. She's on a professional upswing right now, and has a cute boyfriend. Hopefully these things will keep her on track.
ReplyDeleteI say Amanda Bynes
ReplyDeleteTeam KiKi!
ReplyDeleteLOL @Carebear. Two times the fun! Spiderman made me drink too! And I often wondered what Mr. Rogers really thought of us brats. Now I KNOW!
haha!
Winona Ryder?
ReplyDeleteI don't think it's K.Dunst.. she was just in Melancholia
ReplyDeleteI think some of you are misunderstanding. The blind says "has pretty much been reduced to indies" --i.e. Melancholia. "She USED TO BE a popcorn queen." i.e. The Spiderman films.
ReplyDeleteIt's not suggesting that Melancholia is a popcorn flick, and that film is definitely an indie. Dunst would totally fit here.
i never considered kiki a popcorn queen, as she was in some really good roles before spiderman (one of my favs with denise richards dancing and singing with jesus- can't remember the name of the movie though). i'm going to guess winona as i know she is gearing up for tiff(per lainey) and there must be events leading up to the actual presentation.
ReplyDeleteI think whoever guessed Marissa Tomei is right - she's almost A list (didn't she win an Oscar?) and you don't see her in much.
ReplyDeleteAs for making alcohol illegal, we tried that once, remember? Made millions of Americans lawbreakers and helped the rise of the Mafia.
If this is Kiki D., then I'll be definitely disappointed, but saying she's been "reduced to indies"? Melancholia brought her more praise and awards than ever in her career. She has upped her game considerably since then and now is choosing the most interesting projects. And calling her a "popcorn queen"? After what, a few box office hits? I wonder what ScarJo is then?
ReplyDeleteI can't really think that KD has been "reduced" to indies. Melancholia may not be a studio movie, but it was hardly slumming for KD.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to say Winona Ryder.
Kirstin Dunst. One of my friends worked at her and Toby's managmenet company when they were doing Spiderman and they called him to bring them 1 banana. Toby's house was three blocks down from the Sunset Strip and Pink Dot brings anything you want to your door but they called him and he had to drive up one banana to them. When he got there they both just stared at him then took the banana and shut the door.
ReplyDeletethere's a picture in the new vanity fair of kiki at a party. she's sitting with sofia coppola and it looks to me like she has a drink in her hand.
ReplyDelete@dizzy eggs, Drop Dead Gorgeous? I love that movie!
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking this is Kirsten.
Ryan:
ReplyDeleteI was actually thinking Jules Kirby! :)
(still about my favorite post ever on this site!)
I put my vote in for Kiki, she was the it girl because of those Spiderman movies and then nothing and she's coming back with a lot of indie movies
ReplyDeleteI'd say KD is a great guess. And I remember, when the last Spiderman came around, she couldn't even be bothered to promote it. She did interviews but just acted like it was such crap that she was contracted to do another one.
ReplyDeleteHuh, I was thinking Megan Fox.
