ReplyDeleteRIP. . .He and Mary Ann Mobley were one of the supercouples of the late 70's and early 80's.

ReplyDeleteHe and Mary Ann were married 44 years and divorced only a couple years. I bet she was tired of his drinking. It would be a hard life watching someone you loved for so long kill them self with alcohol. RIP and hope Mary Ann finds someone who will appreciate her.

ReplyDeleteThis really surprised me. I only remember him for all the DUIs he's had in the last couple of years. I wonder what the "natural causes" were. I thought he was still married to Mary Ann Mobley.
ReplyDeleteAww. I met him once, and got his autograph for my Mom--he was really nice (and sober) to me. It's sad that he couldn't beat the bottle. :(
ReplyDeleteWiki says, "She married actor Gary Collins in 1967. They have one child, a daughter, Mary Clancy Collins. The Collinses separated in 2011, but reconciled and he moved to Biloxi, Mississippi to be with her in 2012. He died on October 13, 2012."
ReplyDeleteWith my rose-colored glasses -- I really liked this couple -- I'd like to think that they reconciled in the hopes that he could get sober. Maybe he even was in the end, but the damage was already done? Sad. :-(
