Jennie Garth Wanted To Look Like A Skeleton

Apparently the entire world was wrong when we have looked on horrified as Jennie Garth dropped 30 pounds since the announcement of her divorce to resemble more of a human skeleton than anyone you normally would see walking a street. Jennie is on the cover of Kneepads this week and says she wanted to lose the 30 pounds of what she calls "dead weight," and even shares with all of us how to lose it. I was really expecting to see something like:

8am - I wake up and meditate for three hours. Take an Adderall.
Noon - Lunch of coffee and cigarettes and an Adderall
Afternoon snack - Espresso
Dinner - Unfiltered cigarettes and a dry piece of toast
Night time snack - Ambien

Apparently though, there is exercise and eating properly and everything else a publicist could invent to make this all look like the weight loss was on purpose and healthy. Who knew that dropping that much weight on a nearly fat less body was actually getting healthy.

This also might be the first time in recorded history, a cover added weight to a photo.

I feel sorry for her, but you don't lose weight that fast from diet and exercise. I don't necessarily think she ismdoingmwhat Enty says. I just think she is break up fasting. Every time I got dumped or ended a relationship the weight fell off. You just stop eating.

I'm not quite sure if I was supposed to laugh as much as I did at that GemTwist

Right? What a strange story. It's pretty obvious why she lost so much, isn't it? People mag is dummm.

I want to know the Lisa Turtle story! Lark sued over drug allegations previously, wonder if the claims here are similar.

Laughing burns calories! I'm just trying to help us all look '40 & WOW!'

I bet her hair weighs more than she does.

@GemTwist - nailed it!

I've been there, too. Wouldn't trade the extra thirty I'm carrying around right now for that kind of stress ever ever ever. Embrace your Happy Weight!

Thank you, GemTwist! lol I was just coming to say that I didn't realize I could've talked about my harrowing experience of an engagement ending and being so stressed out that I dropped from a size 14 to a size 6 because I couldn't eat anything as a valid weight loss program! Why didn't I write a book?!

Her cover pose looks really awkward.

Ha ha Rejected Carebear and Gem Twist
I HATE pageant hair. I can't believe they would style her like that. Blech

I haven't thought any of the previous pap shots of her recently look too thin, but this cover photo is pretty nuts. Is it possible they photoshopped her legs to look thinner so they could shout 30 POUNDS LOST? For some reason, 30 pounds always sounds more remarkable. Hmmmm

It's so weird that she's still beating her head against a wall to stay famous.

Her hair looks absolutely ridiculous. Also, it must suck to constantly be starving!

Bit dams said...

yeah, yeah, thin. i can't get past her face. would not have known that was her. to much surgery!

That is not the article on this cover, but I found it disturbing and possibly a clue to what is in the new issue.

I care more about Lark's sad spiral, what's the deal? I bet those drug rumors she sued over are true

A good friend of mine is friends with Lark Voorhies. She is a really sweet person, and helped him out in a time of need. He has alluded that she has mental issues, and is taking psych drugs to deal with them.

Your bitchiness is showing. She doesn't smoke (never has), is a devoted mother that rarely drinks and most definitely doesn't take drugs. It's not hard to minimize food consumption and workout more.

When my ex husband left me for another woman when our baby was four months old I lost a shit ton of weight .. I couldn't drink or drug my problems away.. My baby was so little and the light of my life.. So I literally worked out my stress .. I'd walk the baby for hours hiking and I decided to walk/run everywhere .. I remember when I got down to a size 3 everyone just KNEW I was on drugs .. People are going to think what they want and no one can ever change that. Btw.. I'm bck to my happy size 8 and I hope I never see a 3 again!!

Anothergrayhare said...

Alicia, sorry you had to go through that. What a shithead he was to do that to you. And yes, there is no better diet than the "lump in the middle of your chest because your heart hurts so much you can't eat" one. Been there, don't ever want to again.

califblondy said...

I dropped 20 lbs. in a hot minute when I kicked one husband to the curb. I got the drug comments too. I was mad, sad, bad, glad, whatev so I didn't eat for a while. Big deal, Jennie needs to cut the crap. Her husband cheated, it hurts. What's wrong with admitting that?

That picture is so dumb I can't believe it.

I've always been curious... why does he call People, Kneepads?

What happened to Lark Voorheis?? I have a friend who attended some type of Jehovah's Witness function she was at. My friend had so many nice things to say about her.

@Elaine

Me too. I think it's cuz People kisses celebrities' butts.

parissucksliterally said...

Gem, you totally nailed it.

There are a lot of people who cannot eat when they are stressed/depressed.

She did not lose weight through diet and exercise. And it will all come back when she is happy again.

Fuck People Mag for giving her a cover for this shit.

I had a bad breakup early this year, and boy!! Did I drop a ton of weight on an already slim body. I hated it and broke into tears when people commented on how fast I was disappearing, but I couldn't eat or drink like I normally did. I got better emotionally and my normal healthy weight came back on. She is just on a heartbreak diet.

@Christina, my sister dropped 35 pounds in about three or four months by cutting out almost all carbs from her diet, eating a lot of protein and taking up long-distance running. She has started adding more carbs lately to support the running and to stabilize her weight, since she just wants to maintain her current weight and not lose anymore. In any case, my point is that yes, you can lose weight quickly from diet and exercise. I don't see what the big deal is about Jennie Garth. She looks fine to me.

KatD said...

I agree with the breakup diet. Or any stress diet for that matter. When I was 24 and broke up with my boyfriend, I went from 112 to 101 pounds. You could see the bones in my clavicle, but everyone close to me knew what was going on. My huge appetite died down into something closer to normal and then I ended up 103 pounds for a long time after that, but I didn't mind. I'm small anyway.

I seriously wish I could lose weight via stress or the exercise, healthy eating route. I am currently on day two of meal replacing my breakfast in the hope I can get some weight off. I go to the gym and eat healthy, but it just doesn't want to come off. Am giving this a week, will let you know if it works.

Unknown said...

feraltart, breakfast is when you can eat a full meal -- you have all day to burn off the calories.

try cutting down on dinner, make it veg. nothing past 8pm. cut out all sugars and processed carbohydrates. you'll lose weight in no time.

a drastic but very effective way to lose weight is to go vegan. the weight will fall off.

After my last "soul-crushing blow" 11 years ago I got down to 103lbs and the doctor said "ONE MORE lost pound and you're going on weight-gain supplements."

I simply could ingest nothing but cigarette smoke and Coca-Cola.

Now I'm 133 and wishing like hell I could get that skinny again, but no way in effing HADES do I ever wanna go back to that bad place! I'll stay fat & happy, thankyouverymuch!

Lol!!!

Wow, has she told you these things over lunch at the Peach Pit? Because you sound like her bff!

ecua said...

Yikes-Sorry to hear this! I hope that douche is out of your life forever-you and your little one deserve much, much better.

Monica said...

That hair! She should be ashamed of that 1997 hairstyle!

Amy in MI said...

That hair looks totally photoshopped...

And I wish I could lose the weight that way... When I get the lump in my chest, I gain weight :(

@feraltart - Water, water, water - Drink water constantly. A lot of the time when we think we're hungry, we're really just thirsty. Plus the increased water intake will help flush your body. Replace coffee with green tea and I wouldn't advise obsessing over calories, but pay attention to them with the mindset of "Okay, how many of these things am I actually going to burn?" I went from a size 12 to a size 6 in less than a year by eating whatever I wanted, but monitoring the portions. Portion control was my best friend.

Adding lots of fresh veg and fruits is also a extremely helpful.

You're not going to drop any significant amount weight in a healthy manner in a week. If you're going to replace any meal, replace lunch. Eat breakfast - you have all day to burn the calories, replace lunch, then eat a healthy dinner early in the evening. Weight loss that stays off is a journey, not a jaunt.

@disco

I am about to leave, but I'm wondering why you suggest switching coffee for green tea? Is it for weight purposes, or because of the anti-oxidants? I have put on 7 pounds since February because I'm running 6 days a week and my appetite has increased quite a bit. I want to at least take off at least a few of these lbs :) I already eat well but I do love my nightly fat glass of wine and I just had a 3 day birthday cake extravaganza. But let's leave the cake out of it!

discoflux said...

Sunny - In my experience, I feel more hydrated when drinking green tea than I do with coffee. And if one is a half and half and sugar until it's sweet coffee person, it cuts a LOT of calories out that we may not think about. Green tea and a touch of honey worked for me. Green tea's flushing properties are definitely superior to coffee's. It's alkaline which helps keep your body's pH balanced which just means your body will function better all around.

Another tip - share your cake with me next time! It'll half the calories!

Sunny said...

Thanks Disco
I am going to try this. I have been drinking more coffee lately with heaps of creamer. It's so annoying to be the same weight for a year and then start to get some chunk when I decided to start running every day. Gah!
