Today's Blind Items - The Family Man

This actor is A+ list. Probably shouldn't be because he is not that great of an actor, but he is. 99% of the time he is movies. Not above a cameo if his butt is kissed sufficiently, but generally all movies. Only gets along with people who work for him. No one ever wants to work with him again unless they have to. He likes to think of himself as one of the guys, but it is more about people doing what he tells them to do and then sometimes they get to stand next to him. Not too close though. Our actor is the star and you would do best to remember it. Is he the biggest jackhole in Hollywood? He is right up there at the top of the list. He likes to think he is in the mob or some kind of gangster. As long as the gangster lives and interacts with the most lily white people on the face of the earth. He loves to pretend he is a family man but with the exception of being married and having kids, there is no other family in him. He treats every movie he is in like his own private casting couch. He makes it clear who he has his eyes set on during filming and no one is allowed to touch any of those women until after he has had sex with them or they have turned him down enough that he decides they must be a lesbian. He thinks every woman who ever says no to him is either a lesbian and he calls them some very choice words too. His wife has to do what he says or face his wrath. Even though they have a staff, he expects her to cook him dinner and have it ready for him when he gets home. Sometimes he gets home at 6pm and sometimes 2am but dinner better be ready and she better be serving it to him. She learned that the hard way when he dragged her out of bed not long after they were married by her hair and dragged her right down the stairs like that and made her cook for him in the middle of the night while she was naked and in front of his friends. Yeah, quite the family man.

  2. Sounds like fucking matt Damon, but he is a good actor, IMO

  3. What a POS whomever this is. The perks aren't worth this!!!

  4. Wahlberg. He is known to have anger issues and he has a lot of kids. He has been on Entourage too (cameo)

  6. There's no way a woman would cook naked in front of her husband's friends. Maybe if she lived a sheltered life in another culture and doesn't know better, but so improbable. And why would the husband's friends be ok with that?

    1. No kidding. I would grab the heaviest pan and pop him in the face, say dinner is served and you will be tomorrow with divorce papers.

  7. Stallone or Schwarzenegger. It pains me to call them A+ list but they have both been stars of HUGE franchises.

I remember there was a story about how Sylvester Stallone would lay in bed with jennifer flavin (now mrs. stallone) and he would criticize her body from top to bottom.

  8. it does also sound like wahlberg as well..

So many asshats in Hollywood to choose from

  9. OK, am I the only one who thinks Nic Cage??? AND he starred in a movie called The Family Man! Huge hint!

    1. I was thinking Nic Cage the whole way.

    2. And he is highly overrated as an actor. Every character he plays is HI McDunnough. But, DMC points to Marky Mark, which makes me sad.

  10. hope this gets revealed!

  11. And the whole mob thing. He's a Coppola! Of course he thinks he's mob!

  12. I don't think Wahlberg is A list but other than that I got nothing.

  13. Is anyone else bothered by the amount of people these celebrities allegedly have sex with? From the blinds, and looking at my past (which I always thought was pretty good!), I think they are out f$%^ing EVERYONE. Are they really all that big of sluts?! Sort of a serious question, really. I just have such a hard time believing all these people have THAT much sex with complete strangers. Thoughts?

  16. Acting like a gangster actually seems like a trait Nick Cage would totally have. Look at his older son and what he named his crazy kids.

    ReplyDelete
  17. @Tara, depends. If it is a BDSM relationship (real BDSM, not "50 Shades" vanilla shit), that is totally something that might be asked and/or expected of a sub. In fact, re-reading this, the guy sounds like a true Dom through and through.

Not Matt Damon. Not Ben Afflick either. Sorry. I know for a fact it's not either one of them.

  19. nic cage won an oscar for leaving las vegas, was nominated for an oscar for adaptation, and has been nominated for a bunch of other awards. you can't say he's not that great of an actor if those are the standards for being a great actor.

  20. I read this thinking Nic Cage, but who knows.

    ReplyDelete
  21. All I know is that if this was me, the next time this asshole MADE me cook for him, my ring with the secret compartment would be on my finger and the rat poison inside of it would be one of the main ingredients!

I thought Nic Cage the whole time, but maybe because we watched Raising Arizona last night :-).

  23. Nic cage is a terrible actor.

  24. Also it says that 'no one wants to work with him again unless they have to' and David O. Russell worked with Mark Wahlberg twice.

  25. Wasn't Nic Cage in the movie called The Family Man?

    ReplyDelete
  26. I think Nic Cage is a better fit than Wahlberg.

Damon worked several times with Gus Van Sant and Soderbergh
Affleck worked several times with kevin Smith and Ben Affleck (LOL)
Cage worked several times with Coppola,Lynch,Benjamin Gates'director and Joel Schumacher

  29. Time to take a critical eye to these blinds. I have been amused/disturbed by them for a while, but in terms of number of blinds per day and percentage of actors who could be A or A+ there is no rational way they can all be true. Also, the theme of humiliated spouses/SO's can't hold up -- they would stand to make a ton of money in their divorce/break up and with staff witnessing events there is no way some of this is happening.

I know this is an entertainment site and the commenters take it as that, but it's been bugging me lately how the willingness to suspend disbelief is perhaps being exploited. I know it's my choice to read and participate yadda yadda - but it seems that maybe blindgossip was right not to use these anymore. jmo

    1. @flip, I think there might be one blind a week that has some truth to it. But I like guessing and the community here. I forget most of the blinds by the next day, do they never cloud my judgment (even the revealed ones)

    2. I agree w/beguessin. I usually take the blinds with a grain of salt.

  30. I logged in to say Nic Cage. I've heard that his wife is all about the cash and she'll do anything as long as she gets to spend his money.

Weird son, married to Patricia Arquette for a few months but pretended like it was longer, married ultimate Elvis collector's item, named kid Kal-el, etc.

  34. I like the Marky Mark guess, especially with all that info about beating the Vietnamese man almost to death.

And his lady is constantly popping out little nuggets, thus making him look like quite the loving, doting father.

Ugh he has always skeeved me out. He has that Bradley Cooper shadow lurking behind his eyes.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Wow, cool Kimberly! Thanks for sharing. We love getting the inside scoop around here :-).

    ReplyDelete
  36. I have to disagree with Wahlberg...he may be kind of a jerk but he CAN ACT and I don't think he is anywhere near as big a POS as this inplies...

  39. I feel like this is Nicolas Cage... wasn't he in a movie CALLED the family man!?

    ReplyDelete
  40. @Flip, I agree that the violence-towards-women blinds have gotten way out of hand. I think it's interesting that this Enty makes a great deal out of standing up against domestic violence - Chris Brown, et al. - while at the same time seeming to take an almost perverse pleasure in writing blind after blind about women being humiliated and abused.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Nic Cage has never come across as a family man, so I don't think it's him.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I think that was Danny....@Tru.....

    ReplyDelete
  43. Nic Cage never does TV tho, while Mark W. has cameoed on some stuff, like his show Entourage.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Is Nic Cage known for being a family man though? Or does he like to pretend to be a family man? I always saw him as a playboy (eechk) type.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Marky Mark's home didn't flood that was his brother Donnie's home. Nic Cage for the win!

    ReplyDelete
  46. @SillyGirl, I think the reasons Hollywood actors and actresses have so much sex is because they CAN. I think many people would if they could get away with it. If your mailman was surrounded by a group of beautiful women and could pick and choose the ones he wanted, he'd probably do so, too.

Acting is also a very physical business, based on looks and movement. I also used to date a (male) ballet dancer, and he and his company were the same way. They spent all day touching each other in class, rehearsal, etc., and their free time touching each other in other ways.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Nic Cage did two made for TV movies in his career. That equates to about 1% TV.

    ReplyDelete
  48. @flip: read again the BI

guess: Dawson's blond guy James Van Der Beek with Eve Hewson(Bono's daughter) at "This must be the place" NY premiere
Problem: they never worked together,it was her premiere and her boyfriend James Lafferty
    was there

I thought Enty was being ridiculous calling the blind Family Man if it is actually Nic Cage. I mean, really?? Is it even blind? I still call BS on it- I would hope even a douchebags friends would intervene if he dragged his naked wife down the stairs to cook. Puhleeze.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I hope this not Ben, but blind gossip had a blind with the Family Man in the title and its definitely Ben A. And it matches what Enty has been saying for months!

    ReplyDelete
  51. made for tv movies aren't cameos

    ReplyDelete
  52. not when you star in them at least

    ReplyDelete
  53. Sadly, this one screamed Nic Cage to me, which sucks because I've always liked him.
As for cameos, I know he did one last Winter on SNL - as part of their ongoing Nic Cage bit. That he laughed at himself made me like him all the more. But he's had rumors before about the domestic abuse, and the "Family Man" clue & gangster/Coppola one both fit.
Then again, Mark Wahlberg did a cameo on SNL too... "Say hello to your Mother for me."
Either way, sad that whomever this refers to, he's so lost.

    ReplyDelete
  54. flik - I've been saying that for awhile now. Some of these might be true, some of these might be exaggerated, and some BS. The all A and above is suspicious.

But the comments are great, it's fun guessing and learning the inside scoop on gossip.

Good point about the women issue. Altho he does say he wants to force awareness.

My guess is Cage - some people think he's a great actor, others think he's terrible. The Coppola name gives him somewhat Hollywood royalty. He also seems like a huge asshole. Raising Arizona was so perfect a perfect, but look who he was acting with. A great partner will raise your game.

    ReplyDelete
  55. My first thought was Nic Cage, but I have to say, I think he's a good actor.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Nic Cage used to do some good work - Moonstruck, Peggy Sue got Married, Leaving Las Vegas but he seems to have gone downhill lately. Have no clue if this is him or not.

    ReplyDelete

    1. @susan he was so charming in Moonstruck and I forgot about Peggy Sue! And then he just got weird...

  57. When Nic Cage and Patricia Arquette got divorced I saw her on some talk show where she said they never really lived together. Maybe he pulled that cook me dinner at 2am shit on her and she ran for her life.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I'm with @caralw. I don't anyone has confused Nic Cage for a family man. He at least used to be a good actor.

    ReplyDelete
  59. why not bruce willis? he's in the daily mail and there's this: http://www.people.com/people/gallery/0,,20407633_20819514,00.html

    ReplyDelete
  60. no offense Kimberley, but that doesn't mean jack.

You met him at a wedding once and your friend knew him since High School. No way you can deduct what Ben would or wouldn't do in his marriage by that.

    ReplyDelete
  61. My first thought was Stallone, but I like the Wahlberg guess better. Although either could be a bigot - I'd heard this more about Marky Mark than Sly. Both aren't that good of actors.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Not that this really means squat, but I just finished reading Penny Marshall's autobiography and she has nothing but nice things to say about Mark Wahlberg. And she wasn't shy about calling out people if she didn't enjoy working with them (Hello, Drew Barrymore).

    ReplyDelete
  63. LOL!! I see a lot of arm, pits here. Looks like Libby started a trend or did I miss that notice.
No Nic Cage is NOT a great actor regardless of the noms and/or awards. The emperor (sp) has no clothes there.

And yeah, I would be serving big ole steaming cup of "Shut the Fuck Up" if someone pulled my ass outta bed at 2AM for breakfast. Remember, Rat Poison is the southern girls secret weapon.

@Silly Girl: Maybe I was naive or ugly and just not deep enough into the H'wd scene but I was an actor and I seriously don't remember everyone having this much sex or having to put out just to get a good role. I think the blinds are somewhat embellished. But I love them all the same.

    ReplyDelete
  64. The gangster reference made me think of Mark Wahlberg from the Funky Bunch days. Wasn't there also a BI about an actor that was prejudiced? I remembered that when I read the phrase lily white.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Thanks, @Sherry. I didn't know you were an actor! How awesome and exciting for you! Should I be bummed you didn't have that much sex either? :)
It's good to know someone else thinks they are a little embellished. I was starting to think there was something wrong with me!

    ReplyDelete
  66. Marky Mark fits. He really isn't all that great of an actor considering his A list status. Nic Cage is actually a pretty good actor; he just does a lot of crap movies. And compared to Mark, Nic's acting is amazing.

Plus, Mark has known anger issues. I wouldn't be surprised if he's been on steroids. He got really bulky recently.

    ReplyDelete
  67. And sorry didn't mean to sound so dogmatic in my opinion of Nic Cage's acting skills..It is only my opinion and we know what those are like.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I think it has to be Marky Mark, which is so sad, because he used to be my "boyfriend". He is not a good actor, he's A for sure and there is a picture above with him and his son doing the family man thing. He was also all about the gang thing in the back in the day, wasn't Entourage based on his life, minus all the crimminal shite him and his buddies got into?

I just cannot see Nic Cage being aggressive like that, or even all that libidinous.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Samuel l Jackson hands down!!! If you read above he said lily white people and I saw him be rude to a couple of interviewers!!! And he can't act either!!!

    ReplyDelete
  70. Didn't Nic Cage just have some domestic violence issue in New Orleans in the last year or two?

    ReplyDelete
  71. @ Amber. Yes, Cage was interested in April 2011. Good memory! Not sure how to link websites from my mobile but he was apparently seen pulling is wide by her home and hitting cars when witnesses called the police

    ReplyDelete
  72. Mark is in the pics today, with the kids. He may have been nice to Penny Marshall, but never showed her his true self.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Tom Cruise is always Tom Cruise in every movie. He has his Sci gang & is usually married. Not sure if anyone likes him. Not sure he beats his wives though, Ocean Org might do it for him.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Wow, I don't even understanding what I wrote...meant to read as "he was seen pulling his wife by her arm in front of their home"

    ReplyDelete
  75. I'm a peacock, you gotta let me fly!

I'm just gonna say it, I call shenanigans on this one. Marky Mark might be full of himself, simple, and a bit gruff, but I don't think he's in Chris Brown territory, which is not far from what's being described.

I'm thinking it might be someone in a franchise = no one works with him again unless they have to.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Not Marky Mark, he works with so many people over and over. I'm along with the Nic Cage guess, plus the gangster mention might be referring to him being related to F. F. Coppola (director of The Godfather).

    ReplyDelete
  77. Hollywood workers need to start outing these pricks. THEN, we can boycott their shit. BUT NO- they get what they deserve I guess, because they keep feeding the egos. If any one of these stars worked a real job, they'd be pounced on after work.

    ReplyDelete
  78. I don't think Marky Mark is A+. No way.

The only movies Nic Cage was good in were Valley Girl and Raising Arizona. And though I would hesitate to call him A+ I guess the Oscar would put him in that stratosphere.

    ReplyDelete
  79. I am fucking loving the pit pictures. I saw that one comment about them disliking the pit picture of Libby. loving it.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Mark Wahlberg is also an executive producer, he was producer for Entourage, How to make it in America and now for Boardwalk Empire. So i doubt it's him.

    ReplyDelete
  81. yup it's Nic Cage, clue is in the last line "quite the family man.

Nic starred in The Family Man in 2000

This would have to be a woman with no star power or say in the relationship. His wife was barely 21 when they married and a waitress. He chose someone he could abuse. Fucker.

    ReplyDelete
  82. I read this as Bruce Willis, too. Surprised only one other person thought that.

    ReplyDelete
  83. I agree with the Bruce Willis guess. He carries a gun on him FFS.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Russell Crowe....he seems like the type.

    ReplyDelete
  85. The only thing I want to add is anyone who thinks this abuse is over the top or unlikely, I envy you.
Because when you've seen domestic abuse up close & personal, you know this isn't far fetched. People knowing & doing nothing is sadly not far fetched either. One of the things that holds the battered back is nobody believes them.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Mark W got married After several kids though. The line about dragging her out of bed soon After getting married sounds like they would know each other for less time. I am going with Nic Cage.

  89. How exactly did mm get his rep for being a racist a-hole (aside from his teenage south Boston days)? I actually had the pleasure of meeting him at at grandmaster flash show/party in Seattle. He was nice/friendly/charming/funny/cool. He also happened to be a guest of flash and his crew was very multi-ethnic. If he is racist, he hides it well.

    ReplyDelete
  90. OK, I'm slow....what does FFS stand for?

    ReplyDelete
  91. agree with mari. i was in carpool today to pick uo my kids, and a man started pounding on the windows of the suv behind me. he was screaming at her to open the door and calling her an f-ing bitch. i leaned out the window and said something like, hey there are kids here can you try and handle this another way. and then he started calling me the same names. some kids came up to the car to get in and he went and grabbed one of them. i got out of my car and started filming it with my iphone, telling him he was being filmed. he not only didn't care, not one other car stopped. probably 200 cars went by. no one cared, no one wanted to see. security came, and then the police. turns out this was the womans husband. should have known, because my ex did something similar to me. the kids were siding with the dad, saying he was "awesome" and "a great dad". was just fear speaking. i pity that family, and am worrying about the mom tonight. he was really angry.

    ReplyDelete
  92. This is total bullshit. What are they? Caveman and his naked cavewoman?

    ReplyDelete
  93. I have to go with Nicholas Cage. He married wife number three after knowing her all of one month and he does have quite a temper. I remember Patricia Arquette mentioning that when he would get upset, he would punch holes the walls. Not the type of person I'd want to be around.

    ReplyDelete
  94. This has got to be Steven Seagal. He is notorious for "He likes to think he is in the mob or some kind of gangster." And he's a match for the story in every other respect, too, from what I know of him.

He hasn't been A+ for about 15-20 years, but Enty is sometimes wrong about where to list someone.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Not Mark Wahlberg, although he crossed my mind as a possibility. Wahlberg can act, and he lets others be the star: Just ask Christian Bale and that bear creature. I saw Wahlerg's wife during a red carpet interview and she seems capable of holding her own.

If this were 1972, I would definitely guess James Caan, except he's an excellent actor. Love his movies, but I wouldn't marry him.

    ReplyDelete
  96. FFS= for fucks sake @ Silly Girl

    ReplyDelete
  97. Nicholas Cage has NEVER pretended to be a family man. He's definitely batsh*t crazy, though.

I think it's Wahlberg - he liked to pretend to be a gangster back in the day, too (totally fake). He's not a good actor (watch Boogie Nights - he's pretty terrible) but with the success of Ted has made it back up to A list. I think he's the best guess for this blind. Sounds like a major douche.

    ReplyDelete
  98. *sigh* Wahlberg. And he's no gangster is he? I can totally see him trying to be 'street' and 'hard'..as if.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Thanks, @Jaded! That was one I couldn't figure out! It's perfect though. I need to use it more often. :)

    ReplyDelete
  100. I independently came to the conclusion also that this is Mark Wahlberg. He is one of the top 10 highest-paid actors in Hollywood, per Forbes magazine. Hence, A list (whether we like it or not!)

    ReplyDelete
  101. Wow. I totally read this as Denzel. Anyone else?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I would agree except for the "not that great of an actor" part. Denzel has two Oscars, is a perennial nominee and is getting great buzz for his new movie Flight.

From your handle, I take it you're a Seattleite? Me too ;)
