Lindsay Lohan Thinks She Is A Great Actress

Obviously Lindsay Lohan has not seen I Know Who Killed Me or Labor Pains. In fact, I bet Lindsay does not remember a movie she has starred in for the past decade or she would not have her people leak phrases like “She has got used to all the negative press around her personal life but this is the first time she has experienced it about her work. No matter how bad things were going for her personally, everyone would always agree that she was a great actress.” Huh? Did anyone see Saturday Night Live this year? I think the only thing that Lindsay Lohan was good in was mean Girls and I credit that more to the writing and the rest of the cast and sometimes there is a perfect part for a person in that time of their life. Nothing else that Lindsay has done since has been better than average. I don't understand why anyone thinks she is a great actress. She once had promise, but so do thousands of others. The only reason the producers hired her for Liz & Dick was for the publicity. People just had to watch, they didn't have to buy a ticket to get in. It was stunt casting like anything else during sweeps. What I am grateful for is that hopefully people will no longer hire Lindsay for anything but stunt casting so she can get the silly notion out of her head that she is a good actress.

  1. Didn't she say she wants to wait until she wins an Oscar to settle down and have kids? I think that's brilliant timing.

  2. That's what I call dedication.
Her publicist deserves a major raise for serving that release without breaking down into hysterics.

  3. I really don't understand why everyone says she was good in Mean Girls. She was exactly the same as in Liz and Dick. She just read her lines, no emotion or charisma.

  4. I'm with Merlin...I can't believe these PR people actually put together statements like that. Quality comedic writing.

Mean Girls was great, but not because of Lilo. Her performance was mediocre at best. The rest of the cast was fabulous, and she just managed to ride their successful coattails on that one.

I am embarassed to admit I watched I Know Who Killed Me...and holy shit, was it awful. I could have spent that two hours eating an entire tub of raw cookie dough, and felt better about myself afterwards.

  5. She had her chance, no she had so many chances...she blew them all. It's over, I just wish she'd accept it.

  6. I have a deep love for bad acting, which dovetails with my love for Lifetime movies. I would watch Lindsay do anything on Lifetime. If only Lindsay was around when each network made an Amy Fisher movie (yes, I remember all 3)!

  10. I finally watched about 40 minutes of that movie last night. I was surprised at the beginning how bloated her face looked as compared to her body. Fillers or meth? The acting was just sad although the guy that played Burton wasn't so bad. You could tell he at least tried to sound like Burton.

  11. I think she was in the Shannon Doherty class of actresses before "Liznay and Dick". Barely passable, and good for a below par tv series or movie of the week at the very most. And I saw "Mean Girls". A great script does wonders. She's now in the Pia Zadora class of actresses.

No there's a difference. People around HER told her that she was a great actress. Was it that hard for her as a child to act cute and say lines. As far as I'm concerned she never bypassed playing to her type and the phase she was in life. In mean girls she played a normal if somewhat dim highschool girl, which at that time she was still close enough to naturally, and the same with her younger roles. She's never done anything outside of her age range and natural type, so I'm not sure why she was ever told she was great at acting. She's as stiff and wooden as a board. And as interesting to watch. I've seen better acting in my high school drama classes.

  13. What is surprising about this? The girl is completely delusional.

  14. The only thing she was good was in the Parent Trap. Mean Girls was amazing but I agree with everyone about the rest of the cast. She was really just a pretty girl who was cast because she was pretty. Now the drugs even killed that and her bad acting really shows.

  15. Actually, her work in Mean Girls and Freaky Friday was noticeably stronger than her material, which is one way to judge an actor. I've had professional training, and I can judge. Lohan really did have substantial potential as a young actress.

What is stunning is that she can't seem to realize that she has forever destroyed any chance of a comeback by mutilating her face. She could turn into Meryl Streep overnight and it wouldn't matter.

    ReplyDelete
  16. @SusanB, I noticed her face being puffy, then normal in fact it caused me to drink. In the same scenes it would go puffy then normal as did her lips. Drove me to turn it off.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I still think Amanda Seyfried was the best part of "Mean Girls."

    "I'm a mouse...duh!"

    ReplyDelete
  18. She was good in Mean Girls and Freak Friday. I cannot believe I'm saying this, but maybe Charlie Sheen was right to advise her to do a sitcom, so she could have a regular routine.

  19. If I paid people in drugs and swag to tell me I'm amazeballs, I'm sure they would. She, and everyone else around her, are delusional. Didn't her publicist quit this bitch about a month ago? So who's releasing her statements?
And I can't wait to watch this train wreck over the weekend with a bottle of wine.

  20. I am waiting for her excuses as to why she's being lambasted for Liz and Dick. You all know they're coming:

    The writing was bad.
    - "I didn't write the thing myself, I was only saying what was in the script."

    The directing was bad.
-"I can't help it if the director doesn't know what he's doing. I did what was asked of me."

    The wigs/costumes were a joke.
-"I can't help what they gave me to wear. I just wore what I was handed."

Nothing is ever her fault. Ever.

    Bitch.

@ B. Profane: She had a glimmer of promise true, but it's been obliterated now by her hard partying and subsequent brain damage. She's a spoiled prima donna klepto brat that's been praised too many times. Maybe if she had spent all that time practicing lines rather than doing them she'd still know what to do in front of a camera. She looks embarassed in Liz and Dick, like she's aware of how bad her face is and she just seems to be flailing, trying but flailing. And flailing miserably at that.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Actually, a sitcom would have been a good way to stabilize herself with work...three years ago. She's not going to get any serious starring roles with the busted-ass face she has now.

I dunno, some actresses have managed to recover their looks after bad plastic surgery, so maybe good repair work and time can get her back to looking vaguely normal. Oh, and total sobriety, obviously.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Maybe if she took acting seriously she would be great. No preparation and just showing up to say lines does not a great actress make. Had she even tried to look/talk/act like Liz I would be more forgiving.
I watched all 400 hours of that trash on tv Sunday night and not one second of it was entertaining. I could't even play a drinking game!
    Humbug!

  24. The first time I realized Lohan was an actor in a movie was "Prairie Home Companion" which I thought she did a great job in. I thought she was going to be the next big thing. Sadly.....

    1. @deborah Sheeit, I think Prairie Home Companion is what really started her career implosion. She was always late and "sick," all her co-stars were PISSED at her, and the director wrote her a really long missive on what a fuck up she was.
I'm pretty sure it was because of that movie she started having a tough time getting insured.

  25. I don't like her at all but I think she was good in Mean Girls and I actually liked her acting in Freaky Friday.

Okay, I'm pretty sure I'm done saying anything nice about her ever again, starting....now.

  26. Such a shame...She had the potential to be Americas Sweetheart after The Parent Trap. Probably some of the best acting from a kid ever.

Then again, with her addictive personality, screwed up family and choice of friends, she really had no chance as she grew up.

    Still, nice boobs :P

  27. Deborah, you're right...Prairie Home Companion was good. Sad to see how far she's fallen.

Agree with B. Profane...her face is too jacked to be taken seriously anymore. Didn't she flake on her few sitcom guest roles? I thought her stint on Ugly Betty was cut short, and Glee was a disaster.

    ReplyDelete
  28. She talks her lines in everything she's ever done. Which is fine as a child actress from the Danny Pintauro School of Acting, but as an adult she has absolute shit acting skills.

No feeling, no emotion, no passion, no....NOTHING. You can't tell one line from the next or scene. Monotone voice and monotone skills. Boring.

Emma Stone, enjoy your accidental career.

    1. @jax you always say what I'm thinking! Monotone is the exact word I was trying to think of. Dull and flat also describe her in Mean Girls but it's because she speaks in monotone. I think I'm the only person who doesn't love Mean Girls oh well

  29. She may have been onto something when she was younger, but that's all over now. She just isn't an actress. The lifestyle has been too hard on her and there is just no emotional connection there to wring out a performance. If she put in years of hard work actually acting and working on it as a craft, she might have a comeback in her early 40's, but we all know that aint gonna happen.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Mean Girls was hilarious, but not becasue of her. It was the ensemble cast who won me over.

Georgia Rule is the only passable movie, IMO. I'm sure Jane Fonda was having none of it.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Hmmm, no, ain't buying it. She's probably gotten horribly sloppy now, but even in her trainwreck SNL hosting gig last spring--the last time I've seen her act--she had some clever lines readings. Granted, she was playing comedy, and most of her performances were mediocre-bad, but even then she showed authentic touch with a few of her lines. Wasn't luck. When she hit one or two right I could see the acting choices that she was making. She still has a clue--barely--on how to play a scene well.

    But that mug she's sportin'...oy!

  32. the best part of mean girls was everyone else but lindsay. I loved lacey chabert in that movie. Wish she would do more funny movies.

  33. Typicsl junkie mentality. Nothing is her fault., shes always a victim, yadda yadda. Only thing thats missing the dog ate her script!

    ReplyDelete
  34. I wish the dog would have eaten her script. The dog could have farted the lines out better than she read them.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I saw Mean Girls a couple of days ago (it has been years since I saw the movie), and I agree with those who state that Lindsay was nothing special. She just said her lines; no real acting involved. And she was so pretty. I still think the best thing she did was Chapter 27, and although she was only in it for a few minutes, it seemed to me like she was a really acting.

    ReplyDelete
  36. She has a quite short but important part in Prairie Home Companion, as no less than Meryl Streep's daughter. And she really nailed the part. She wasn't earth shattering but she didn't feel out of place in what was a great ensemble that also featured Lily Tomlin, John C Reilly, Woody Harrelson, Tommy Lee Jones, Kevin Kline (whose character was actually the weak link) and Maya Rudolph.

It might be the one time during these years that she showed her potential, which is now completely wasted and lost to drugs and delusion. Anyway, Robert Altman, who was quite weak on the set (it was his final film and the whole project feels quite sunset-y) and wouldn't have been the guy writing her a letter to put her in her place. It must have been Garry Marshall for Georgia Rules.

  38. I don't think I've laughed so much during a film performance since Godfather III and Sofia Coppola. It was so brilliantly bad that it high lightened how painfully obvious it is that she just can't act now that she's an adult.

  41. Lindsay Lohan was only one of the Mean Girls -- the rest were Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfried, and Lacey Chabert. Look at where Rachel McAdams and Amanda Seyfried are now -- Jesus Christ, no one even mentions Mean Girls anymore when talking about their careers.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I haven't watched Lohan in anything since The Parent Trap (my daughters were younger, and loved the original). I was VERY tempted to watch the Liz & Dick debacle, simply for the multitude of internet drinking games, but I desperately didn't want to add to the ratings.

Besides, I can have more fun drinking to Mystery Science Theater 3000, which is INTENTIONALLY hilarious.

  43. Speaking as another person with professional training, I thought her performance (except for the singing) was very unexceptional in Prairie Home Companion. I didn't buy her as an angst-ridden, Nirvana-loving teen any more than I bought her sudden corporate type at the end of the movie. She had moments in Georgia Rule that were good, but that was another passable performance. She was fine in Mean Girls, but I didn't find her exceptional. Actually, there isn't much I remember about that movie, so I'll refrain from saying anything else about it.

Other than that, the Liz and Dick trailer only wanted to play sound and not video for me, so I only heard her performance. Talk about a lack of emotion or passion! Acting requires incredible work and commitment, something that's very hard to do if you're committed to drugs and partying. She has no one to blame but herself for her career imploding. There are too many other more talented actresses out there who are also very committed to doing the work acting requires.

  44. I wasn't too fond of the movie Monster. Charlize Theron, on the other hand, kicked major ass as Aileen Wuornos. She not only looked the part, but acted it. She researched Wuornos' mannerisms, her speech, the way she walked, etc. One can be on a subpar movie, and still manage to do a great job. Lindsay did not do this. She cannot blame anything or anyone for her shitty performance, but herself.

    ReplyDelete
  45. i agree with what her "peole" are saying, and said as much to a friend this week. before, people talked about how talented she was. now, the reviews say stuff like, "she showed some promise when she was younger". NO! people were calling her the next ann margaret. people wanted to work with her. its like hollywood is wanting to rid itself of her memory.

she is pitiful now. what does she have? seriously. i know she did it to herself, but WHAT does lindsay have now? i don't think she has anything. no education no career, no real friends, no family, no money, no property. its awful that at 26 she is washed up. maybe she could move to spain or something. aren't pasty american "celebs" a big seal over there?

    ReplyDelete
  46. Well, I guess her PR flacks think they're earning their money by leaking "opinions" like this one. Who cares if it's completely ludicrous? Maybe they can make people believe it - just as Lohan herself thinks that saying she "obeys the law" and only needs [the all probably stolen] "Chanel, Hermes, a MacBook and diamonds to be happy" will fool everyone.

    ReplyDelete
  47. "Liz and Dick" - Her voice and delivery was like a grown-up Charlie Brown character, who still talks that same way! (I'd call her Linus Lohan, but Linus doesn't deserve that. Maybe "Lines" Lohan? The lines don't refer to spoken words in a production.)

Listen to Linus while looking at Lindsay:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZw06AbW6Vw

I actually thought she looked beautiful, but the acting was pitiful. Even in those years that society saw Liz herself as a joke, she was a WOMAN, confident and had a real power. Lindsay's just a preteen trapped in a curvy garbage disposal.
