And tbh, in generally he seems like a controlfreak, who likes his women with a cup of STFU. When they get too attached/moutty/demanding he dumps them, thus never gets married.

ReplyDeleteIf it's Seacrest & Hough, I'm surprised Enty called her all-movie instead of celebrity. She was on Dancing with the Stars and released a couple of country music albums.
ReplyDeleteNot a Seacrest fan, but he's come a long way on thimbleful of talent. You don't achieve that without a lot of self-discipline. I would imagine that this type of person - male or female - would be most comfortable with a partner who is similarly self-disciplined.
ReplyDeleteOtherwise you end up with a Courtney Cox/David Arquette type of situation, in which a romantic relationship slowly turns into a parent-child scenario.
Anyway, it's been frequently suggested that Hough is bearding for Seacrest. If she's basically his paid employee, then on some level he has the right to tell her how to behave. If she doesn't like it, she should quit the job.

I like the Seacrest/Hough guess too (especially with the stay up late part, because Seacrest always says he goes to be very early). However, the "all movie" part is throwing me off too, plus I think she is still a practicing Mormon who doesn't drink

ReplyDeleteOk, I just got my daily US magazine email (I know, I know) and Julianne is vacationing with Ryan. She is also quoted as saying when she gains weight she cuts out alcohol, so she *does* drink.

ReplyDeleteSpeaking of Hough and Seacrest, does anyone remember a blind a while ago (maybe a month or two?) about a girl who had been abused growing up so she happily beards for her longtime bf as sort of a shield since she isn't interested in a real relationship? A lot of people thought it was Rachel Bilson & Hayden Christensen? I know it's kind of tacky to speculate on, but since Julianne's recent interview about her experiences of abuse growing up, I've been wondering if they fit but haven't been able to find the blind.

ReplyDelete@Jax No, I hadn't heard the rumor about Seacrest and Merv Griffin, although I think it was a pretty open secret that Griffin was gay. I remember hearing about it as a teenager growing up in Wisconsin in the 1970s, along with Rock Hudson and Jim Nabors rumors.
ReplyDeleteAt any rate, lots of straight men have turned tricks to get ahead in Hollywood - wasn't there a famous story about Clark Gable and George Cukor? - so I don't know that a bit of casting couch action necessarily takes Seacrest out of the hetero derby forever.
Besides, Griffin has been dead for five years now, and Seacrest's career still powers along. He must be doing something right.

ReplyDelete@Charis- I've re-read it a couple of times and am beginning to think she doesn't fit the part about not liking to be alone with men. She had to rehearse with plenty of men for lengthy periods of time on DWTS.

I would say that making money off her looks and being lead material applies to Hough, but the 'cancellations' bit makes it sound like she had a shot at some TV work that was cancelled and I think Hough has primarily done movies outside of DWTS...
I wouldn't say that being alone with her partners on DWTS rules her out though since it seems likely there would always be cameramen and other crew around in the studio. hmmmm...
@thatfunnygirl(11:53AM) - Not that I'm saying it applies to any suspected blinds, but I actually watched that season and their relationship seemed very staged to me. Wasn't she about to leave DWTS at the time and head into country music? If so, he was her entry into it. I believe they broke up not too long after as well. Hough and Adam Carolla had more chemistry than those two together.

Not really. It's about how we present ourselves in our daily lives. Throwing on a dance costume while you perform a dance is one thing. Dressing like that on a date is totally different.

ReplyDeleteThere is one reason why I believe Ryan is straight or bisexual. Back when I used to have control over my t.v (read: only one baby), I used to watch Ellen during her naptime. Ryan and Ellen are really good friends, and she did this weird plea of how she desperately wanted to find a great girlfriend for Ryan. I guess I felt since Ellen is gay, that she wouldn't be promoting a bearding/inauthentic relationship. Just my take - I could be way off base
Sunny I thought the opposite about Ellen. Like when she got male strippers for Clooney. I think she gets a kick out of comically baiting her closeted guests. She always hammers Swifty about boyfriends too, I took it as a bearding dig.

ReplyDeleteI like Ryan Seacrest a lot. I worked with him when he was at K101 in San Francisco. He is a hard worker and was always kind. He never showed any prima donna behavior and was just great. He was a clothes horse though. I never detected anything gay about him. If anything, he seemed asexual. All he cared about was work.

ReplyDeleteMerv was known for being a nice guy. He was became engaged to Eva Gabor, his longtime friend, so she could live with him for health care reasons. It's possible that Ryan was smart enough to recognize the formula behind Merv's success while working for Merv, and Merv recognized in Ryan a hard worker like himself, and shared his insights to someone smart enough to listen.
