Blind Items Revealed

June 8, 2010

This A list athlete (in his sport anyway) told his C list movie actress wife that he didn't want her anywhere near him during some press he is doing. He feels like she tries to take all the attention away from him and makes every conversation or interview about her projects and her life and totally ignores him.

Ashley Judd and Dario Franchitti

Which is now a surprise to absolutely no one.

Shocking. Ashley Judd is such a cunt, which is not a word I use lightly.

Who didn't see this one coming....are all Hollywood types that narcissistic?

Eeekalicious said...

Well, there goes my thinking that she was so supportive of his career...

Nervous Nelly said...

She seems like a Grade A a-hole.

ablake said...

She's just so..broken. It's a shame because she's actually a good actress. Not great but good. (I'm thinking Time to Kill era)
She just doesn't seem to be a very nice person.

Thomas said...

I don't normally go to bat for celebs on here, but the anti-Ashley sentiment seems rather harsh. She does a lot of charity and humanitarian work: in fact, she's chosen it (humanitarian work) over her acting career, for the most part. If she is "C-list" now, she certainly wasn't ten years ago, and her A-to-C-grade demotion is due to her good works, not any poor acting skills or personal scandal. Cut her some slack...

I've always liked Ashley Judd despite her craziness. She seems very intelligent.

ablake said...

Thomas, there was a blind reveal a year or so ago about her being the one who would not allow anyone to talk to her on the set unless she gave them a talking stone. Please keep that in mind with some of our opinions about her :)

Also, stealing your husband's thunder after he just won a race isn't cool.

Though you are correct, doing good deeds like she has is absolutely wonderful.

prolixe said...

Another Ashley fan. She's had troubles, but she's an intelligent woman who does some good work.

I won't make any racecar driver comments. Not a one.

a speaking stone? u shit me not
bitch b crazy and thats ALWAYS been said about her

Sherry said...

Can't say as I blame him. Jeez would it kill you to let him have a little of the spotlight every once in a while? Wasn't there also a blind about an actress on a Broadway show that her costars just hated revealed or suspected to be her?

Thomas thank you for pointing out her good side. She has a bit of a self inflicted PR problem it appears.

ljsmed said...

I said this on the last thread about her, she is not a nice person (when it comes to people) and I know this for a fact. I love the humanitarian work she does but the does not mean you get a reason to be a total bit*h to everyone you come across.

I know an actor who was an extra in that movie she did "Someone like You" I think it was called, with Greg Kinnear. There was a scene in an elevator that they had to yell cut on because Greg looked at the camera. Ashely chided him "that's like something an extra would do." While surrounded by extras.
Good on her for the charity work. But damn, I hear too many of these types of stories about her!

Sarah said...

I read an article by a journalist who was invited along on one of her trips to work with a charitable organization. Ashley demanded a lot of amenities that were way out of budget for the group, and really put the unpaid volunteers through hell to accommodate her for the time she was there.

Redd said...

Seems I had read that she is super intelligent. Once I read an article about Ashley written about a trip to an under privileged impoverished country for some do gooding and charity work. She refused to even get off the bus and only viewed her peasants from her window seat and only spoke with the interviewer when absolutely necessary. She bitched and moaned and made life hell for everyone around her. I'm off to search for the story. Meanwhile, what Lotusknot said seems pretty accurate.

ablake said...

It seems like a case of 'intent is good; execution is poor'.
Maybe she can hire Gaga's ex assistant and a better PR person.

Sarah said...

I need to find the link to that article, although I'm not 100% sure I can make it clickable here.
The level of narcissism she displayed was unbelievable, particularly in regards to the work she was promoting. She was like Jekel and Hyde, a monster until the cameras were trained on her and the poor children, at which point she would be crying with them, acting like Mother Theresa or something.
I don't give a rat's ass if she is intelligent, if she lacks self awareness or common sense it's all useless anyway.

ablake said...

...still though. If the man I loved just won a huge race/game/best selling gas station attendant award I wouldn't make it all about me. I would celebrate him and talk him up up UP.

ablake said...

(that wasn't a response to you Sarah, I just have a super slow computer today)
Interesting stuff about the volunteer work.

nancer said...

i've seen them after he'd win a race. his discomfort with her was so obvious. she'd be all smiling and jumping up and down and he just looked like he wanted her to go the fuck away. i'm surprised they lasted this long, frankly.

SusanB said...

I think it says more about a person as how they treat people they are actually in contact with, as opposed charity work/donations to people you've never met.

Barton Fink said...

Oh, I think she's hard and mean from being ignored by her family and siblings and mother during her formative years. I don't think she's a bad person, but she might have some prickly qualities and defensiveness and narcissism. I still like her. Maybe she will be a politician after all. Good hard defensive walls are a plus in that biz.

Not A Ninny said...

She has seemed pretty fame whore-y around Franchitti the past couple of years, but she also took some unfair hits. Drivers wives, way more than in other sport, are expected to be mute bimbos, and it's no surprise that Judd wasn't going to play that game. When Danica Patrick and Judd spoke up about that Peruvian woman driver being a menace in Indy cars a few years back, Judd got ripped to holy hell even though she was right.

Shame about her career.

Sarah said...

That's the article I referred to, I believe. If anyone is interested, google Ashley Judd Josh Trevino.

CJ said...

+1.

Don't they say charity begins at home?

figgy said...

Haha thanks for the "rest of the story" Sarah.

Sarah said...

I hate to knock humanitarian work, but with her it almost seems to fill her need to be better than everyone else more than it fills her heart. I hope that is an incorrect assumption.
She had a tough childhood, but she seems to use it as an excuse to prolong her bad behavior. She is wealthy, attractive, accomplished, and educated. She has all the time and money she needs to pursue mental and emotional well being.
At what point is the responsibility to not be an asshole on her?

Parula said...

She's not mean to everyone. I know people who have done work for her at her home, and she treats them very decently.

ForSure said...

Well good to know that she's not mean to all people, just most people. I was such a huge fan of hers, especially back when she was on Sisters, I loved that show. I know that celebs get bad raps and unfair reputations sometimes, but the stories about her are just too consistent to ignore. I'm sorry this couple broke up, and I really hope that Ashley Judd does not run for the US Senate in Kentucky.

Redd said...

Thanks Sarah. Thats exactly the story I was referring to. Im typing fro. Kindle and for me its impossible to share a link.

I'm happy to see that once again, for the most part, we are usually right on with our guesses to the blinds.

TalksTooMuch said...

I'm gonna make my own speaking stone and tell my 4, 3, and 1 year olds they can't talk unless they have it. Then I'm gonna hide it.

Henriette said...

She strikes me as one of those types of people who will save some stranger in China, but treat her husband like dirt.

Henriette said...

Oh as far as charity work goes, Mariah Carey does a boatload of it without press. Ashley Judd makes sure everyone knows what charity work she is doing. Paul Newman was the same way. Did tons of charity work without the press.

Jennmcn said...

She's bat shit crazy and I'm really surprised the marriage lasted this long. I bet they really didn't spend much time together.

Sippin Sukka said...

Wasn't this revealed I'm the past to be Tony Parker and Eva Longoria ?

Nothanksdarlin said...

Amen to that!

Mhdz said...

Totally. I wouldn't have guessed it then but I've seen a few races since and she was trying her hardest to hog the spotlight.

I hope he moves on, gets engaged in like 8 months and has lots of little babies with his new wife that will be 15 years younger.

Listen, my mother has money and she loves being a full-time philanthropist. She is a huge giver and can't help herself when it comes to helping out ANYBODY in need (to a fault!) and has often been taken advantage of because of it... HOWEVER, she is by far and away the biggest narcissist I have ever known. She haaasss to be the center of attention ALL the time. Even on my wedding day it was ALL about her, to the degree that I had friends and family attempt to console me and my response was "I expected it...really". Truth be told..I have often wondered if the charity and narcissicm went together...in the sense that she gives because she receives more attention and more importantly, adoration. I do not doubt it comes from the heart but I see the result and I do think there is a reward there for her that she is addicted to in some fashion. Started doing research on narcissism (after realizing my mother was) and it is a fascinating condition and one which I'm VERY grateful I did not inherit! So AJudd can be both I assure you!

There is an Indy car driver from my area and I worked with a lady who is extremely close to him and his wife (her husband was the drivers groomsman at his wedding, even). Anyways, she told me years and YEARS ago how awful Judd was at races - nobody in the racing set could stand her -- for exactly the sentiments expressed in this blind. She played the diva and was considered a limelight hog.

(another fun fact was Danica didn't have a good reputation as she was rather "loose" as they all were growing up in the circuit - apparently, she got around... I wasn't surprised when those go daddy ads started running -lol )

Lurky Loo said...

Color me not an Ashley fan. I am always surprised by people who say "oh she does charity work" so that makes her other behavior ok. Well there are some manipulative people out there that do that sort of thing so nobody can call them out on their crappy behavior because they've done some charity work. I really don't think that is a pass on being an otherwise rather nasty human being.

Lurky Loo said...

@Wahoowifey

You have my sympathies. One of the most manipulative people I know always makes sure you know just how much she is involved in humanitarian efforts. Sounds like your mom has some overt as well as covert narcissistic tendencies. The coverts always make it well known just how much they do for others. I completely respect and think it is the right attitude to keep your charitable efforts to yourself. I never quite trust people who shout it from the rooftops.

Hard to say Dario is A-list, even in racing. Maybe in his specific form of Racing. [Indy cars?] But, that's still a stretch.
