Jerry Seinfeld Does New Standup
Jerry Seinfeld does not really do standup anymore, so this was a treat if you like him. Of course he was on Leno so no one probably did watch him.

:( not avaliable on mobile. What's the deal with that?
I was never a fan of Jerry. Like, EVER. Never watched the show. NOW, that being said, I saw his stand up when he came to Nashville and I laughed so hard I almost threw up. His stand up was FANTASTIC. This was probably 5-6 years ago, mind you...but he was hilarious. I won't ever knock him again.
Jerry does stand up every week. There was a Vanity Fair article recently where he talked about always doing at least one show and never giving it up. Whether he does it at a large venue is another story altogether. He likes to do small drop ins.
Jerry does standup all the time. There was a recent NYTimes article about this: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/12/23/magazine/jerry-seinfeld-intends-to-die-standing-up.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0
He's had two dates here in the last 4 months (an hour outside of Toronto)
Was coming on here to say what Sherry and presidentresident said. He does stand up contantly, but doesn't travel with anyone. Not a publicist, maybe a manager? I can't remember what the article said. See, Enty, when somebody does something but doesn't bring along an entourage or make a fuss or make headlines or have a reality show about it, it doesn't mean it didn't happen. :)
While we are on the subject, does anyone have any recommendations of kid-friendly comedians? My son loves comedy. We have Bill Cosby, Bob Newhart (a little too cerebral for him but hilarious), Seinfeld, Jim Gaffigan, and Mike Birbiglia (his favorite next to Cosby, with a little parental editing). My son is almost 10.
Thanks!
Ms Cool that is a fantastic lineup!
Maybe Sinbad? I don't think he is too raunchy.
Maybe Bill "here's your sign" envol (sp?)
Ms Cool, do you quote Bill Cosby also?
Let the beatings Begin! LOL
I saw him here in Portland last year. It was fabulous! I have been a fan for a long time. He did have someone warm us up for about 20 minutes who was really good too. Cannot remember his name though. It was a relatively large venue, the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall. Its the second time I saw him perform there, he had someone else opening for him back in 2004, who was also good and I cannot remember his name:/
Ms Cool, you MUST check out Brian Regan. You and your son will LOVE him. He is very kid friendly and he is one of the few "clean" comedians who everybody finds hilarious, even other comedians. I have been watching his comedy since I was a kid, myself.

@Ms Cool - try Sinbad - my VERY conservative sister loves him and encouraged her kids to watch him - frankly, he's very clean and very funny.
As for Jerry, couldn't stand his show but love his standup.
DOH! How could I forget him Annie Hall?! We love him!
Oops..Guess I got it mixed up. I read VF and NYTimes as far as periodicals so it's usually one or the other. Thanks President.
I'll second Brian Regan being cleanly hilarious. Saw him once and he was just so goofy funny.
I just wanted to throw in another recommendation for Brian Regan. The kids love him and I have to admit he does some really funny bits.
What about Paula Poundstone and/or Steven Wright? (At least some of each seems to be kid-friendly, unless of course they are too cerebral for a kid. I'm clueless there; no kids.)
And ditto Jerry touring/doing stand up. Been here in my town at least a couple times in the last few years, perhaps even once/year.
Ms Cool- we just love John Pinette. He isn't raunchy , most of his sets are about food, etc
Jerry has been to my town twice since I've lived here. We just saw him last month. Laughed so hard my face hurt. His opener was hilarious too.
Ms. Cool - LOVE Jim Gaffigan. Have seen him multiple times. :) What about Ellen DeGeneres' early stuff? And I could be wrong, but one of my favorites was Mitch Hedberg and I don't recall his stand up being raunchy. You might double check on that.
I have such a big crush on Jerry Seinfeld...I know he's not typical "crush material" but, there's something about him that I just love!!! I saw him do stand-up around 6 years ago and it was amazing!
Wayyy back in the day I took my grandma to an Anne Murray concert (truthfully, she was the only one interested in going with me) and warming up for her was some guy no one had heard of. Jerry Seinfeld.
Enty, Leno gets higher ratings than any other late-night talk show, you idiot.
