Russell Crowe And His UFO
Russell Crowe swears he spotted a UFO and uploaded a series of time lapse photos he took of the UFO over his farm in Australia. It all reminds me of this all-time favorite.

Lurve the sound effects. UFO {blerp}?
HAHAHAHAHA at the double rainbow!! Give that dude some brownies!
I wanna see a UFO.
I've never seen a UFO, but I just saw my first double rainbow last month!
It's a reflection inside the glass..umm, no I mean, it's aliens! Run!
Good to see him working hard on his marriage
Now we all know where to go if we're in Australia and want the good shit
I saw a TRIPLE rainbow when I was in Italy and right after that I conceived when we had been having infertility problems!
Haha about the good shit.
I do believe in UFOs actually but that's not one of them.
I can believe that he filmed a UFO, but I can't believe "Woolloomooloo" is a real name; I'd have called it "Chazzwazzers."
@RCB, I think he's acknowledged it's over. He's dating Samantha Barks (Eponine in Les Miserables).
I am so glad to know that Woolloomooloo is a place and not just really bad text speak.
I do believe we are not the only lifeform in the universe.
@lc, and we have Chris Brown to back that up!
Seriously double rainbows are gorgeous. I can relate to his enthusiasm.
And the Opster and I saw a UFO. Mid you we were doing X but we BOTH saw it while watching a meteor shower. We still talk about it.
I was just making a joke there. I guess it wasn't very good. I'm also not up to date on my Russel news.
I thought it was funny RCB...
I believe. But I'm in to conspiracy theories. believe Roswell really happened, etc. etc. ad nauseum.
I see unidentified flying objects all the time because i'm too lazy to put on my glasses.
@lc...
The late (great) Carl Sagan once said something to the effect of it being the height of human hubris to think that with all of the billions upon billions of stars, in all of the galaxies that make up the infiniteness of space, that we alone are unique.
Thanks Sherry!! I thought it was a good one!
@rcb, and I read too much gossip.
;)
I thought the UFO looked like a tube of toothpaste.
Lol@disco
rejectedcarebear, I LOL-ed.
My dad saw a UFO when we were little!! I never have but my dad isn't a conspiracy theorist and he swears he saw it!
This guy must cry during sex.
camembert---I see what you did there. The International Drainage Commission.
Homer:
'Burkina Faso?!? Disputed Zone?!? Who made all these wacky calls???'
Homer's Brain:
'Quiet! It might have been us...Just keep your mouth shut, and I'll release som'more endorphins.'
MMMMMM.....Endorphins
(from memory--surely wrong, but close)
@Rejectedcarebear, I thought your original comment was suitably sarcastic.
I wonder if he banged Anne Hathaway?
What's better than a double rainbow? A shooting star? Double-Stuf Oreos?
Awesomeness.
And I have seen a UFO. And apparently, David Duchovny saw the same thing I did. Hmmm.
I saw one when I was young. Really cool and I got to brag to my brother because he missed it.
I would like to see a UFO. From far away, with no abductions.
Enty, W (cannot be bothered to type that mess) is an urban suburb right next to the city of Sydney. And I'm pretty sure Crowe lives in an apartment there. His farm is up the North Coast of NSW.
Lola
Someone beat Sagan to it
"How can we, without absurd arrogance, believe ourselves to have been uniquely favored?"
-CS Lewis
I love this. He saw a bright light in the sky in the city. good one.
I live under the flight path. you wouldn't BELIEVE the amount of UFOs we get there
I read this on Yahoo:
as CNET’s Chris Matyszczyk points out, the photos weren’t even taken by Crowe—they were shot by cinematographer Duane Manwiller—four years ago.
and then:
ParaBreakdown’s Phil Poling does an excellent job of breaking down Crowe’s video.
First, Poling explains that the video is not in fact time lapse photography, it’s a timed exposure, a fairly commonly technique that often results in stretched or other unusual looking lighting effects. Second, whoever took the images used a telephoto lense, which distorts the perceived distance in the images.
“The third part of the equation is location, or viewpoint,” Poling says in the video.
“I was a little surprised that Russell didn’t realize what the photo actually was. But then again, it does look a little strange when subjected to photographic trickery,” he explains. “But the truth is, he sees this every day right outside his window coming from the marina.”
“That’s right, it’s a sailboat,” Poling said.
Avoid the Zeta Reticulans.
