Buckwild Is Canceled
Just one week after the death of Shain Gandee, MTV has decided to cancel the show he starred in, Buckwild. The show was in the middle of shooting the season so this was probably a really tough decision to make, but Shain was arguably the star of the show and with one cast member from the first season not shooting because of her drug arrest, it was just too much for the show to overcome. The cast had received a 300% raise from the first season and MTV had hoped it would fill the void of Jersey Shore being taken off the air. Well, I am sure the producers can find some other region to stereotype.
I'm wondering if lots of people at CDAN were in the target demographic for that show.

DeleteI reside in NC and I'm most definitely NOT in the target demographic for these shows. In fact, I haven't watched TV for years. =)
ReplyDeleteI bet they'll go gypsy.
ReplyDeleteFuck. Loved that show :( RIP shain
ReplyDeleteI really liked this show too..... (Head hanging)
ReplyDeleteNever watched it
ReplyDeleteWhatever will people watch now that this show that is just like every other trashy show is over...
ReplyDeleteThe show completely centered around him. They really didn't have a choice. No one else was remotely likeable. I vote for Laguna Beach: The Next Generation.
ReplyDeleteSend 'em over to West Michigan. A bunch of stoic, thrifty Mid-westerners of Dutch descent with a no nonsense work ethic; mixed with a degree of self-righteousness. Must see, TV. The ratings would be huge in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and The Netherlands.
ReplyDeleteNever heard of this show til people started dropping off the map. Maybe the show will get a spooky reputation like Poltergeist and many of the cast members will meet I'll fates. Because , their lifestyle has nothing to do with it.
ReplyDeleteSee what I did there Dia? Kicking of Wooo Wednesday!
I love West Virginia. My husband was born there and his entire family lives there. I'm also from New Jersey. I hated Jersey Shore but loved Buckwild. They were just good old kids having fun in a boring place.
ReplyDeleteFlorida for sure. How about " I'm hooked on Bath Salts and I'm hungry For Your Face" Season Premier Monday at 8pm! Don't miss it!
ReplyDeleteReese isn't Lizard Lick Towing from NC? Head up to the mts. and see what kind of characters are there..Whoa boy.
ReplyDeleteActually do one about the "rich" people in Charlotte..That would be really good I think.
I liked those kids, they were harmless and entertaining. At least Shain's death was an accident and not related to the show. I don't understand what canceling this program accomplishes. I mean, this is coming from the same network that aired Amber Portwood committing domestic abuse & cut her checks all the way up to her 5-year jail sentence. This is the same network that pays Jenelle Evans and supports her heroin addiction. An overwhelming majority of these girls have also had subsequent pregnancies and/or drug issues. THAT is the kind of shit they need to axe.
ReplyDeleteThis show was painful to watch, it was so stupid. I feel bad people died though. MTV should film the Wild & Wonderful Whites of W.VA if they want to show what the drugged up outlaw redneck lifestyle is really all about.
ReplyDelete@jaariel that is one of my most favorite documentaries ever. I love how at the end of the movie they put their lives in perspective, it was kind of heartbreaking...
Delete@Anna Nonymous will that be showing on the Food Network?!
