mmm iced tea, drinking some now. Selzer water is what I'm trying to replace diet coke with, the phenylalanine/liver/kidney failure studies are freaking me out!!!!
I have found as I get older I prefer cheap store brand cola. Probably because it mixes better with booze. Or Throwback Pepsi (no high fructose cor syrup) or Mexican Coke (same deal).
But growing up in Texas we called everything "coke". You'd order a coke and they'd ask you what kind (when I was a kid it was usually Dr. Pepper). When I moved up here the northwest I have noticed that Pepsi seems more common.
Coke, coke, coke. Love Coke, the original, with real sugar, in an aluminum can or glass bottle, never from plastic. I was getting a fat ass, so I had to cut down to a can or two a week. But I love it, love it, love it.
Pepsi has bought up exclusive rights at a lot of public facilities, particularly airports, and you can't get Coke anywhere there. I hate that. If a server says the establishment carries only Pepsi, I politely ask for a glass of seltzer instead.
I call it pop, not soda. Everyone does in Michigan, pretty much. I lived in Illinois for a time, and could not get used to it being called soda. It sounded so strange to me. Coke ftw!
*wrinkling nose* Neither. Can't stand them. I have ADD and one of the things they tried was no artificial flavors/colors. After that I couldn't stand soda. *shrug*
Bad for ya'. A sip of regular coke from a "real bottle" (not a can) can bring me out of a diabetic low faster than orange juice. From a can, doesn't work. No clue why.
Rooibos tea with orange or vanilla flavouring, or coffee (decaf) it's still cold here! In summer, store-brand light soda, as long as there's no caffeine in it. Makes me incredibly jumpy.
Coke. And not just because I live in Atlanta...I just honest to God cannot stand the taste of Pepsi. Of course, my drink of choice is something Coke put out for a limited run in the US (however is apparently quite successful in Europe)...Coke Blak - a mixture of coffee and coke. (and yes, I'm a caffeine hound) Before you gag, it's really quite good...but at 4$ a bottle in the US, didn't quite make it)
Neither, all sodas, even diet, are poison and should come with warning labels just like cigarettes. I occasionally splurge on real ginger ale, which is not cheap and very hard to find. Really need to learn how to make my own.
Diet Coke over Diet Pepsi any day of the week, although I prefer Fresca to either of those, but I don't drink soda anymore unless I'm at a restaurant. I usually drink iced tea or sometimes seltzer/sparkling water with lemon or lime.
I´d do ANYTHING to try that Diet Wild Cherry Pepsi @MontanaMarriott mentioned, but the options in my country are really limited, Pepsi (or Coke)-wise...
I have no preference since I usually only drink cola with rum. Oddly, I have noticed I can drink one non-spiked coke just fine, but if I ever have a Pepsi, I crave another. They must put crack in it.
Agent**it, I HAVE a recipe for Jamaican ginger beer, I think! I'll have to go home tonight and check, and post it on the OT site tomorrow if I find it.
I live off Homemade sugar free lemonade or strawberry lemonade all summer long(I use truvia, real lemon juice, crushed ice or frozen strawberries and club soda).I also like the mio type flavors in seltzer water. Even better, taking kool aid powder and mixing it with liquid monk fruit sweetener, then stirring into seltzer water.
Coke, Classic or Diet. Pepsi is way too sweet. In the summertime, Cherry Limeade soda from Walmart is like crack. I buy a dozen 2-liter bottles at a time.
I have recipes for home made ginger ale, but I guess I can't figure out how they are measuring the ginger (by weight? by shredding and packing into a measuring cup?)Nothing I've made so far tasted right. I'll probably get back into this summer and give it a try. If I ever get it right I want to mix it with green tea, that Green Tea Ginger Ale was the last soda I drank and it was delicious (probably because of all the sugar). :)
If it has to be one or the other, Coke--Pepsi is way too sweet for me, although I do admit to liking Dr. Pepper. Most of the time, though, I stick with ginger ale when I'm out somewhere (it's my go-to drink instead of booze in bars); at home I make iced tea the way I like it (which is NOT the way they make it down south--sweet tea is way too damn sweet for me!). I steep 7-8 tea bags in a 2-quart pot of boiling water for about 5 minutes, add equal parts sugar & lemon juice (1/2 cup each), let it cool, and then funnel it into a clean plastic gallon jug, filling up the jug w/cold water. Aaaaaahhh... :-)
Never driver soda anymore but when I did it wad diet Pepsi. I loved Cheerwine when I was growing up I'm NC (you should be able to find that there Reeses) but the last time I went home I got one after bragging to the Opster about how great it was. It was so bloody sweet I tossed it.
Now I prefer iced tea with honey and for fizzy, club soda with a squeeze of Meyer lemon.
Ice tea, I can't do soda...
ReplyDeleteCherry Coke

ReplyDeleteCoke, diet.

ReplyDeleteDiet coke & diet Dr. Pepper. I don't drink coffee so I have 3 cans a day of one or the other. Only in the am.
ReplyDeleteCoke tastes better but I get Pepsi since they make caffeine free in a 2 liter bottle.
ReplyDeleteI have found as I get older I prefer cheap store brand cola. Probably because it mixes better with booze. Or Throwback Pepsi (no high fructose cor syrup) or Mexican Coke (same deal).
ReplyDeleteBut growing up in Texas we called everything "coke". You'd order a coke and they'd ask you what kind (when I was a kid it was usually Dr. Pepper). When I moved up here the northwest I have noticed that Pepsi seems more common.
I would never snort Pepsi! Coke.
ReplyDeleteCOKE!
ReplyDeleteCoke, coke, coke. Love Coke, the original, with real sugar, in an aluminum can or glass bottle, never from plastic. I was getting a fat ass, so I had to cut down to a can or two a week. But I love it, love it, love it.

Yah ill ask for water, lime and some equal n make my own limonade for free.
DeleteCoke. You can take the girl out of Atlanta, but you can't take Atlanta out of the girl.
ReplyDeleteWater. Sometimes milk!
ReplyDelete@Lucas, I have step-family in Texas, and I've noticed that they call all soda "coke". Weird.
Pepsi!
ReplyDeleteI almost never drink soda, but on occasion I'll get a nice cold Pepsi because it gives me the best burps! I'm a classy broad :)
DeleteMountain Dew gives monsterous burps, VIP. Energy drinks too.
DeleteDiet Pepsi
ReplyDeleteI mostly drink water but at the movies, I gotta have a Coke!
ReplyDeleteused to be coke..I don't do bubbles any longer
ReplyDeleteCoke. Pepsi is just too sweet.
ReplyDeleteOther than water, I'm a coca cola, sprite, or ice tea gal!
ReplyDeleteI call it pop, not soda. Everyone does in Michigan, pretty much. I lived in Illinois for a time, and could not get used to it being called soda. It sounded so strange to me. Coke ftw!
ReplyDeleteIn Ireland sodas are called minerals.
DeleteReally, mynerva? I have never heard that term. I wonder what the origin is of that one.
DeleteYeah it's a strange one alright. I've no idea of the origin.
DeleteDepends on the rum.
ReplyDeletePepsi Light FTW!
ReplyDelete*wrinkling nose* Neither. Can't stand them. I have ADD and one of the things they tried was no artificial flavors/colors. After that I couldn't stand soda. *shrug*
ReplyDeleteCOKE!
ReplyDeletePepsi uses pepsin from, among other sources, aborted fetuses, to test biochemical reactions to its ingredients/tastes.
Coke. I don't know how you can order a rum and coke in a bar that only has Pepsi and them not tell you first.
ReplyDeleteI'm talking to you, Canada.
Pepsi!
ReplyDeletePepsi Max!!!
ReplyDeleteCoke...but I actually like Sprite better.
ReplyDeleteCoke back when it actually had cocaine in it.
ReplyDeleteSettle down Lohag
DeleteMexican Coke.
ReplyDeleteBad for ya'. A sip of regular coke from a "real bottle" (not a can) can bring me out of a diabetic low faster than orange juice. From a can, doesn't work. No clue why.

ReplyDeleteCoke when I indulge!
ReplyDeleteRooibos tea with orange or vanilla flavouring, or coffee (decaf) it's still cold here! In summer, store-brand light soda, as long as there's no caffeine in it. Makes me incredibly jumpy.
ReplyDeleteDr Pepper!!!
ReplyDeletediet coke only, and a 2 litre bottle a day habit.
ReplyDeleteReg. COKE.....Cherry PEPSI
ReplyDeleteCoke.
ReplyDeleteAnd not just because I live in Atlanta...I just honest to God cannot stand the taste of Pepsi.

ReplyDeleteCoke, of course, diet coke.
ReplyDeleteCaffeine-free diet Pepsi.
ReplyDeleteDiet Coke. In the past, Tab with a slice of lemon.
ReplyDeleteJones Green Apple Soda is to die for. The only time I really say soda is when speaking of that awesome brand.
ReplyDeleteMexican Coke in the lil bottles
ReplyDeleteCoke.
ReplyDeleteDiet Coke, in a can. but I rarely drink soda.
ReplyDeleteCoke with a dribble of chocolate syrup added. I'd prefer Dr. Pepper, though. And mostly I drink tea.
ReplyDeleteCoke, all the way! I get so mad when a restaurant only has Pepsi. Coke is so much better
ReplyDeleteBesides, you can't snort pepsi
Neither.
ReplyDeleteNeither, all sodas, even diet, are poison and should come with warning labels just like cigarettes. I occasionally splurge on real ginger ale, which is not cheap and very hard to find. Really need to learn how to make my own.
ReplyDeleteFS, if you find a recipe for real ginger ale, let me know. I once had a Jamaican ginger ale that I'm still thirsting for..
DeleteLook up starting your own Ginger bug, FS. You can google it.
DeleteCoca Cola forevaaaah!!!!
ReplyDeleteKosher Coke. Or Mexican, but Kosher is tops. How I wish it was always Pesach!
ReplyDeletePepsi, in the morning, and in the middle of the night. I'm hopelessly addicted to Pepsi.
ReplyDeletePepsi - unless I have an upset stomach, then its coke. Cola, that is.
ReplyDeleteAfter the coke, I enjoy a Pepsi.
ReplyDeleteOn the odd occasion that I drink pop these days, it's Coke. Pref. Mexican, in a glass bottle. And I will take (and win) the Pepsi challenge ANY DAY.
ReplyDeleteI will not, under any circumstances, drink diet pop though.
If I must, diet Pepsi, always with a straw. I prefer flavored fizzy water, no sodium, calories, sugar, or caffiene.
ReplyDeleteDr. Pepper
ReplyDeleteUnsweetened tea
ReplyDeleteMexican Coke in a bottle.
ReplyDeleteDiet Coke over Diet Pepsi any day of the week, although I prefer Fresca to either of those, but I don't drink soda anymore unless I'm at a restaurant. I usually drink iced tea or sometimes seltzer/sparkling water with lemon or lime.
ReplyDeletePepsi products. I don't drink much pop anymore, but when I do it's Pepsi products.
ReplyDeleteI call it POP, too. I live in NC now and I cannot get used to everyone calling pop 'soda' or 'drink'! LOL
Diet Pepsi, caffeine free. Runner-up, Diet Pepsi Lime.
ReplyDeleteI´d do ANYTHING to try that Diet Wild Cherry Pepsi @MontanaMarriott mentioned, but the options in my country are really limited, Pepsi (or Coke)-wise...
Diet Coke: nectar!
ReplyDeleteIf only Pepsi is available I just have water
I have no preference since I usually only drink cola with rum. Oddly, I have noticed I can drink one non-spiked coke just fine, but if I ever have a Pepsi, I crave another. They must put crack in it.

ReplyDeleteCoke special treat, Coke Zero the rest of the time
ReplyDeleteSki. Fitz's Cream Soda. Diet Dr. Pepper.
ReplyDeleteOh, and Reed's Ginger Beer.
ReplyDeleteBut if I have to choose ONLY Coke or Pepsi, I'm going with Coke. Diet versions? I go Pepsi.
Coke Zero, followed very closely by Pepsi Max. I really miss diet Coke with Lemon! Can't get it in Canada anymore... :(
ReplyDeleteAgent**it, I HAVE a recipe for Jamaican ginger beer, I think! I'll have to go home tonight and check, and post it on the OT site tomorrow if I find it.

ReplyDeleteGreen tea. Can't do diet soda any more. Addiction, indeed.
ReplyDeleteUsed to be Cherry Coke, now just coffee and sometimes green tea.
ReplyDeleteWater, coffee or tea. Never any of this gut rot. I can't believe humans would drink that, or sell it.
ReplyDeleteMexican coke....a case...that you buy from the delivery guy outside a condo in Puerto Vallarta...
ReplyDeleteAgent It, Rexruther,
