That's It Dawg - Randy Jackson Is Allowed To Quit American Idol - Rest Of Judges Not So Lucky

Randy Jackson has announced he is not returning to American Idol next season. Because of his long service to the show, producers let the man quit. The other three judges will also not be back, but for some reason I think the producers want to make a point of telling them their contracts will not be renewed. After suffering the lowest ratings ever for the show, producers want to do something to get people to watch again. The thing is ratings have been going down for years on the show as it has more competition. I don't know if a total shakeup will do anything. I think finding a time in the schedule where you are the only talent show each week would probably work better than anything. In other Randy news, he no longer manages Mariah Carey. Interesting.

  1. I didn't know he did manage Mariah in the first place. Huh.
Anyway, I don't think anything can be done to revamp AI. Its time is nigh.

    1. I was surprised to hear that, too. But I'm not sure I'm paid enough attention to either of them to really notice before this.

  10. I thought Benny Medina was Mariah Carey's manager?

Maybe Randy can get Steve Perry to sing again?

      yes, Randy. Time to retire.

  18. He was definitely the most useless judge on the panel. I find Nicki Minaj to be the most immature and childish. She enjoys controversy. Do you see how she walks out each week mocking Mariah Carey's walk? Nicki is such a talentless c*&t.

  19. Johnny, Johnny, Travolta pie, touched the guys and made em cry.
When the lawyers came out to play, Johnny, Johnny ran away.

    3. That's true, Keith is pretty good too.

  22. I actually like Keith Urban. He is very perceptive and accurate in his comments.

And everytime they say that it is about the talent and not the judges I have to laugh. The last few years it has ONLY been about the judges.

  26. Count I think my only favorite moment was in season...2? I'm not sure. Maybe it was 3. Anyway they showed the backstage auditions and some guy read a poem and tried to get on. He compared it to freestyle rap and said they were discriminating against him (he sucked. The poem sucked). It was a poem about Rocky the movie. Kid you not. Yo ADRIAN,You have my heart again. I'm sorry I called you stupid. What I feel for you doesn't rhyme with stupid. ADRIAN"

It was unbelievable. they really should have let him onto the show.
Simon would have ripped him apart.

  27. I don't have time to watch these shows with my busy schedule. But my friend Sav does. He said Mariah is the best but that Nicki scares him. Is Randy Jackson related to Micheal Jackson?

    1. Hey! I know Sav. He dated my friend Holly

    2. He's nice but can be kinda clingy...

  28. G, that's because you realize something that apparently no one else on the planet (at least in Hollywood) does.
Give Randy an instrument and an hour to write a song and play it live.
Do the same with Mariah and whatever that other thing is.
Do it with Keith? Odds are he only needs half an hour and he's good to go. Just him and a guitar.
That's true talent. The rest, no. Sure Mariah has a good voice. The other 2 though, I'm really not even sure why Randy has lasted this long. Because he's related to Michael and Janet? What has he done on the charts?
Nikki? Please. I never thought anything would be worse than her reputation until I listened to her sing.

    1. I agree with inthebusiness, the judges are all extremely talented. They could go on to bigger and better things. I'm not familiar with Nikki. Her choice of wardrobe is atrocious.

    2. Randy isn't related to Michael and Janet. Totally different Randy.

  29. I feel bad that Keith has to deal with such stupidity (Minaj). The show has been awful for a long time. It's glorified karaoke.

    ReplyDelete
  30. @inthebusiness, you've got the wrong Randy Jackson. This one isn't related to Michael and Janet. Rather, he's a studio musician who has played guitar with Journey on tour.

  31. Puggle---He seems used to being hen-pecked. A submissive guy. I feel bad for him sometimes.

    1. They are here. They are just letting the trolls tire themselves out. It's similar to how the cops handle Halloween in Madison wi a huge party college town. There was a huge crowd, cops suspected a riot would soon break out. They played music and got the crowd to jump up and down. They all eventually got really tired and went home.
The lesson? Let the troll tire himself out.

  40. I don't think this has been a successful judging panel.

I liked each of the new judges individually at times but they didn't really contribute much to the show--they (except for Nikki) were all too concerned about being likeable so pretty much everything was "amazing".

I think Randy's over it--he really phoned in a lot of it. I think he likes working with the kids who come on--he seems genuinely supportive of a lot of them during and after they are on the show--but he really does say the same things to everyone.

On a side note, I am SO happy Candice and Kree made it to the end. I really thought Angie would make it and she was not my favorite--so I was very pleased with the final 2--I've liked them the best this year since the beginning of the live shows.

anyways, this season sucked, all these judges suck.
AI is on its last legs. show started being abt celebrity judges instead of the actually kids auditioning

  44. I can't believe Mama Jackson will let that happen, she wants randy to bring home the money, just like Mike!

  45. I'm pretty sure Randy and Latoya are in fact the same person..yo dawg, .true story!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Yeah, it's time for AI to go away. Not only because it's been on for so long and there's so much competition, but because they've made the contest -- the reason the show exists -- second to celebrity drama. The contest is an afterthought now.
