It turns out that our actress is the one who has to approve who her ex sleeps with and how much he can spend on other activities. Other being defined as illegal. Apparently he listens to her and does everything she says. Another tidbit is that she has been known to occasionally, very occasionally, still have sex with him and that he lives for those days.
