Paula Deen Uses The N Word - Wishes There Was Slavery

I'm not sure how much more Paula Deen's career can take. If she is not kicked off Food Network forever, then there is something wrong with the producers there. Under oath, Paula Deen admitted she uses the N word. Not used it once or it might have slipped out here and there on accident, but actually uses the word. That should be enough to get her fired and for no one to ever cook any of her recipes except at KKK meetings. However, there is more. Paula also admitted that once she was planning a wedding party and wanted only black waiters and wanted them to play the role of slaves. Yeah, she said it. Paula said all of this as part of a deposition she gave because of the lawsuit that one of Paula's former employees filed against Paula and her brother. The employee claimed Paula called her the N word and that Paula's brother sexually harassed her.  According to The Enquirer, Paula said her brother is a coke head and an alcoholic. Oh, and is addicted to porn. Great guy to go in business with!!

  6. I'm not a big fan of hers, and I am a staunch anti-racist, but it's The fucking Enquirer for fucks sake. I'd like to see a transcript or something first before beheading the old coot.

I'm trying to picture that and wondering who would want to attend that wedding.

  11. Any more info like a real source or link? Why was she under oath? I find her disgusting yet I'd be more comfortable judging or mocking her if I knew that the story is true.

Not to say it isn't, it sounds familiar, but I don't like to be one of those people who believe everything they read just because it's on the internet.

  13. So how long before she releases her own branded spread "I Can't Believe I Can't Say N*gger"?

Nasty racist old boot deserves to lose any contracts she may still be clinging on to.

@just curious - whitewomen? Is that all white women or just the ones whispering in your head? You really think it's OK to use a racist comment about a racist comment? WTF?

    2. It's very appropriate . It's the whole irony of it all. You are a bold white bitch to say nigger in front of your Black employees. And maybe that's why she said it because she knew they needed a paycheck . Your white supervisors, cops, landlords will say racist to you and in front of you. Why? Because they have a certain degree of power, they know you can't do nothing and basically they just don't respect you.

  17. Exactly what good would it have done Paula to lie? At least she admits that she uses the word, and that she did the things she was accused of. She doesn't hide behind anyone. She puts her crazy right out there on the front porch. Not that I care for what she does, I don't -- but honesty I admire in any form.

I was raised in the South my bigoted father and his family and by a slightly bigoted mother. It's damn close to common in this country (and not just in the South. I live in NJ now and I am appalled at what I hear from people's mouths) but thank God I am breaking that tradition. Me and my daughter aren't bigoted, racist or prejudiced and I hope that this generation will be the last one that is.

  24. While I don't agree with her views, what she does in her own home doesn't need to come to light, just to bring someone down. I'm sure we all say worse from time to time. She needs to learn to keep her mouth shut.

I think her show should have been cancelled long ago. Cook books are enough IMO.

There are very few things you can say that are WORSE than the language she allegedly admitted to using. Most people do NOT say such things, even in the privacy of their own home... The lawsuit is against HER... And NOT about things she said in private. Seriously, go take an ethics class or something.

  26. I'm sad to know she's like this. I loved going to her restaurant in Savannah. She seemed like such a sweet person. I can't imagine the vile things that were floating around in her head and coming out of her mouth. Not only is she embarrassing herself but her sons as well, who are also in business with her. They have a lot of work ahead of them.

  27. How dare a person use whatever words they want to in their own homes or hire people to ACT (meaning not really being, just pretending) as slaves at a wedding at a southern plantation!

People have the right to be upset by this stuff, but don't try to shame those of us who are past the whole "this word is racist and can only be used by certain people" as that excludes people and isn't that what the whole civil rights movement was about?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Then again, I shouldn't bring up the civil rights movement as it has been so clouded now that people think it was the Democrats who were for it and Republicans against it. Little history lesson for you folks, the Democratic party was fine with Segregation, in fact Bobby Kennedy's own words were "I don't care about those Negros, I just want their vote for Jack in November". The Republicans were actually the ones pushing for integration. Facts you'll never here on the Daily Show.

  30. Paula Deen (and a lot of other people including most of Hollywood) has used the "N" word. The only reason this is news because idiots need to feel better about themselves by holding southerners in contempt (while doing the exact same thing they claim is the reason for their contempt.)

    ReplyDelete
  31. @Auntliddy I honestly don't watch much TV, I just used The Daily Show for that the same way people use FOX News to show something that is wrong with the Republican way of thinking.

It does surprise me though that Bill Mahr would admit it.

It's kind of funny that you said closed mind when I found that Bobby Kennedy quote while reading a book on him from 1967. I find it's better to go back as close to the events and read those for the closest thing to truth we'll get about things. Sort of like that Penn & Teller Bullshit episode where they ask what was the recipe for Elvis' favorite fried chicken and find a lot of different versions, and that's just someone who died in what, 1977?

  32. @portlandjewel Ethics as proposed by who, exactly? Is it ethical that someone make millions of dollars a year acting in a show while their crew makes scale? Is it ethical that a woman can ruin a man she dislikes by making false rape accusations against him, knowing he will be tried and convicted by the populace? Is it ethical that a light night comedian can make pedophilia jokes about priests but can't mention the name of Muhammad in case they upset some Muslims?

Ethics aren't black and white. You can take ten different classes on ethics and get ten different views on them.

Was it ethical for my gym teacher to tell people to "kick his fat ass" when they went by me when we ran on the track or saying I was raped because I was an altar boy But I guess that was ok because it was making reference to my body and religion not my colo....hey, that's just the same, isn't it?

    1. Your gym teacher was a dick. Hopefully rotting away somewhere of painful ailment. I cant stand bullies and that what he us/was.
Historical facts are what they are, no matter which " side" they fall on. I love history myself. Incidentally, it benefits a goverment that wants to get away with shit to keep us ignorant of history. And it is appalling how ignorant some people are in this area. And they dont even feel bad- they are almost proud of it. Blows my mind.
I also love today, in an age where EVERYTHING is recorded in some way, when you have politician on tape saying something they NOW say they never said. I always wonder if they are familiar with concept of videotape, lol.

      Delete
    2. I'm not sure what this has to do with it but no, it wasn't ethical for your gym teacher to bully you and encourage others to do that. As for actors getting rich and others getting scale... That's called capitalism, I am a socialist so... Again, not sure what that has to do with my specific comments on one specific topic. Also, I don't find pedophilia jokes funny. Still not on topic here though. But thanks for the history lesson. Wish I'd just come to you instead of spending 60K on a history degree!

  37. My only comment is what an ignorant bitch !!

Southerners with CLASS neither speak nor even think like that. My father was an old southern gentleman and he never struck us kids but he said he would have if he ever heard that vile word come out of our mouths.

That word is a remnant of slavery and should never be used by anyone ever.

Maybe Paula Deen would like it if someone treated HER like a slave from the Antebellum period and tore her top off and took the lash to her back. F***k that Gones with the Wind BS.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I think the reason it came out was that she was using it in her restaurant. That isn't private.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Wow!!!! She wanted the waiters to pretend to be slaves?!?!?! WTF?!?!? I'm not a big fan of hers, but she used to seem like a sweet lady....um not so much. Yuck. Food network needs to fire that racist ass.

    ReplyDelete
  40. She's become a cartoon character.

One of the funniest things I have ever read was Ms. Deen's recipe for English Peas on the Food Network website:

    ENGLISH PEAS
    Ingredients
    1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter
    2 cans (14 1/2-ounces) English peas, drained

    Directions:
Melt the butter in small pot and add the peas. Cook over medium heat until peas are warm.

The recipe itself is mildly amusing (famous cook Paula Deen using CANNED PEAS???) but there were hundreds, literally HUNDREDS of mocking comments by readers that were utterly tears-pouring-down-our-cheeks hilarious.

The killjoys at FN deleted all of them, and routinely go back and delete any new snarky posts, the bastards. These will be gone soon:

    * This recipe is awesome. I added a pound of bacon and left out the peas. Delicious!

    * I would've given it 5 stars but the recipe was too complicated. Incredible show of technique though. Maybe you could do a video tutorial on this one because I was so lost.

  47. I am truly saddened and disappointed to hear she does/did this. What enlightened person of the world can actually believe that shit anymore? And FTR there are a shitload of southern posters here who DEFINITELY do not believe using the "N" word is appropriate or that racism is okay.

We hear from people here who live in Indiana or NJ (mentioned) who claim they hear the same abhorrent shit. Please don't make it sound like it's exclusive to the south. Racism exists everywhere and we should call it out where ever it happens.

Before I condemn Paula more, I shall visit the Huffington post for the details if the deposition. Paula's only redeeming quality at this point is being honest about her heinous behavior.

Now let's see if FN has any balls and cuts her loose if this is true.

And yeah, some of the "recipes" on the FN are a joke..Frozen grapes? Put grapes in freezer...REALLY? Clever!

I save my anger for those who sneer at kindness and compassion. I save my disdain for people who can't open their willfully ignorant mouths without making a racist slur ("The Mexicans are taking all our jobs". "The gays are destroying family values", and so on, and so on). Fuck them. Paula Deen is just one of the herd, and probably the least offensive part of it.
