Very sad. My prayers go out to his family.
ReplyDeleteI just can't with this funeral. Having had the absolute pleasure to meet Mr Gandolfini, albeit briefly and over dinner, he was every bit as nice and generous and wonderful as everyone else says. His being gone, despite the fact I'm merely a hanger on and not a loved one, has not sunk in. And it sucks.

God that is so sad. Damn, I feel bad that their private grieving is violated here. RIP.
ReplyDeleteThis is HORRIBLE Ent. How could you post pictures of someone's funeral? Just like school on Saturday- NO CLASS

ReplyDelete@ Libby. If it makes you feel better this is a public funeral in New York organized and paid for by HBO. His family had a private one yesterday in New Jersey (which the Sopranos cast didn't attend). I think it's kind of nice, like the best of both worlds.

ReplyDeletePrivate Grieving is being violated? They should report it to the NCO.
ReplyDeleteSave the outrage folks. The people with clipboards from HBO and the organized gates should've been indicators that this was the public HBO organized funeral event.
No one is going into their home and taking photographs of them weeping as the try to sleep or protesting the funeral with Westboro.
Yes, i think people are interested in the nicest possible way. It seems everyone felt love for and from him.
ReplyDeleteCan someome explain pantileones hat? It looks silly.
@RomanHoliday: y u dee leet?

Is it any less class than prophiting phrum phuneral photos?
I had the same reaction as Libby at first. Though seeing all the cast members of the Sopranos, it is clear this was for the public. His son is adorable.
ReplyDeleteNo A.J or Adriana?
ReplyDeleteOMG the picture of his son is heartbreaking :(
ReplyDeleteTake off ya damn hat, Joe pants!
ReplyDeleteSweet ain't got time fo' people who can't take off their hats at funerals or meals. Damn rude!
Sorry, guys. I just meant their 'ugly cry' faces--pure grief faces in pap photos, makes it seem a little violating. That's all.
ReplyDeleteI AM glad to hear this was supposed to be the 'public' event. My first thought was knee-jerk against pap vultures.
Libby!!!
DeleteUncle Jun outlived Tone. Not the way I would have called it.
ReplyDeleteVery sad...I still can't believe he is gone.
ReplyDelete51 is too young to die. This is so sad. I've never read one unkind thing about him.
ReplyDeleteBloat and blow don't mix.
ReplyDeleteSweet Brown, Joey Pants HAS to wear the hat. He doesn't have his own hair. When he's outside, he wears the hat.
ReplyDeleteoh shove it you idjit troll, not on the day of his funeral. stuff it. Gandolfini was a God.
ReplyDeleteI saw his pic in the checkout at the supermarket today, and it made me sad. This pictorial makes me even more sad. The man was flawed, but it's clear he was well-loved by a large number of people You can't ask for a life more lived than that.
ReplyDeleteThese pictures made me tear up. RIP.

ReplyDeleteThe truth is that gandolfini was a drunk, a drug addict, and a philanderer. Sorry he died, but his wounds were self inflicted. You can be certain the woman he cheated on and the people he hurt with his drinking and drugging don't remember him quite so fondly b

ReplyDeleteTony soprano is the bomb dot com! He is so funny, lol!
ReplyDeleteHis son looks so much like him, what a terrible thing he's been through, poor kid. :-(
ReplyDeleteWow,massive G. Wonder how your eulogy will read? Something like "coldhearted, uncaring jackass"?
ReplyDeleteI knew exactly what you meant, Libby, and I agree. Public or not, it still feels kind of icky to see them as they're grieving. RIP to Mr. Gandolfini.
