This A+ list celebrity who used to be a pretty popular singer and a horrible actress was talking to friends the other night about the time she hooked up with this A+ list mostly movie actor a few years ago. They had dinner and then went back to her hotel. Apparently the actor had way too much to drink because he was not getting up to speed so to speak and our celebrity started laughing when he wanted her to talk dirty because he had an accent and she could not understand him because he was slurring and she started crying from laughing so hard and he just got up and walked out and never spoke to her again.
Arnold wasn't a mostly movie actor several years ago. He was the governator. So I'm going to guess Jean Claude Hot Damn. I can never understand what he is saying.

ReplyDeleteIt's either Brit, Mariah, or Madonna for sure, but I'm having trouble finding an A+ list actor w accent. I think the ratings are off on the actor. No way Antonio or Colin are A+. Not even a couple years ago.

DeleteYes, I believe it does. She thought she was everything in Evita. I thought it funny because basically IMHO, Eva Perone & Madonna are kind of alike...lack luster personalities. I'm not a fan either. She's just too arrogant for someone who has had soooo many other ppl sing for her on her albums. She's basically a karaoke show.

ReplyDeleteA few years ago was still a long time post-Evita. I find Madonna + Antonio hard to believe--this is framed like they didn't know each other well, and you would if you worked together on a film of that scope for as long as they did. Also, if you worked with someone for a long time, you'd get to understand his accent.

And it is true that Madonna, no matter how hard she tries cannot act her way out of a paper bag. Although she wasn't too bad in "Suddenly Seeking Susan".
It's interesting that she took vocal lessons to be better in Evita (and I think it helped) but I have never heard of her taking acting lessons. Shite, even Marilyn Monroe did.
Maybe Brit couldn't understand because well, not gonna come out and say it. Bless her heart!

ReplyDeleteI'm liking the Brit/Jlo and Gerard or Colin guess. Irish can be hard to discern if you're not used to it and couple that with drunken slurring I can see it. I can defiantly see it with Gerard. He "Americanizes" his accent often (myScottish mother does the same) but if you put them in their own country or give them a few beers it comes out hardcore. And given that even I struggle to understand what some of my Scottish family members are saying at times, I can see this happening. If youre not listening well enough, it can all mush together. Add some scotch to the equation and you're screwed, especially with Scottish slang lol
