Mumford And Sons Kicked Out Of Strip Club

It's been awhile since there was a good kicked out of a strip club story. When you hear about a band getting kicked out of a strip club you assume that they were all drunk and crashing the stage and fondling strippers while they made it rain and demanded the strippers perform extra special services while they dump $1000 bottles of watered down champagne all over the furniture before setting it all on fire and being tossed out to the street. The management would then tell the band they are welcome back at any time provided they pay for the damage they caused.

So, I was really excited to hear why Mumford And Sons were tossed from an Atlanta strip club. It turns out it was karaoke night and the band was kicked out because Ben Lovett was singing and the rest of the band was filming him. That's a no no in a strip club and the band was warned to stop. Lovett got ticked off at the interruption and then the band was kicked out. There was no drama and no band worthy trashing of furniture. Pretty boring stuff.

  5. This wasn't your average strip club. The Clermont Lounge is a hybrid of dive bar/hipster hangout/strip club, featuring an overweight older stripper named Blondie who will crush a beer can between her breasts and read poetry. It is unique, and many celebrities passing through Atlanta stop by there (along with everyone else in Atlanta). On my farewell night, me and my friends even stopped by there - and I am an average, Jane schmo type who doesn't go to strip clubs. Karaoke is par for the course there.

  6. Karaoke at a strip club? Am I missing something? Is "karaoke" code for "shooting up Klonopin," now?

I'll just wait for @Count to walk us all through this one.

  7. This story is as boring as their bland, repetitive music.

  10. I try to be a "live and let live" kind of guy but every time I see some goof in his hipster getup I just want to hit him with a bat until he stops breathing.

  11. The hipster commentary is funny.

What is the definition of a hipster, actually?

  12. It isn't a boring story for those of us in Atlanta. The Clermont is unlike any strip club you've known and loved. It's where strippers go to die. In addition to Blondie, the stripper mentioned above who crushes beer cans in her cleavage, there are strippers in their sixties and strippers past their stripping prime. Bill Murray, Jon Hamm, Woody Harralson, and many others filming movies here have come in more than once. It's in the basement of a seedy (and now closed) hotel. It's quite the fun place.

  13. The definition of narcissism is fixation on self and not on external objects. Going to a strip club and filming yourself = narcissism, I would say.

  14. The Clermont is so seedy its cool. It's actually more a bar that also happens to have strippers. Besides Blondie, the breast-beer crushing wonder, they have this stripper who who has GOT to be in her late 60s who dresses up as Little Red Riding Hood, Bo Peep, etc. It's a great place to go, but you literally have to take 3 showers before you finally remove all the smoke that clings to you.

  16. That place actually sounds like fun, next time I'm in ATL I'll bring in my can recycling so it could get crushed faster.

I am sure they went to see Blondie (google Clermont Lounge)...if they had wanted standard strippers they would have hit The Cheetah. BTW, I saw their show Tuesday night in Centennial Park. Awesome!
