Blind Item #5

This A+ list celebrity/rapper who thinks he is the greatest person on the planet made a 14 year old in a wheelchair with her parents wait for an elevator twenty minutes because he had his bodyguards hold the elevator while he took a call and they didn't know when he would be finished. When the celebrity came out he was overheard telling one of the guys holding the elevator that he doesn't share with strangers and they would have to wait until the car came back down.

  1. Where were they, and there was only one elevator? This seems a bit sketchy.

  6. Hahaha elan, I just read the article on Daily Mail about Elan and his fight on the plane yesterday. Is that you?

Oh and yeah, Kanye. He should try pulling that on Jay-Z. Then maybe he would 'disappear'

(I know they are friends but it's still a nice thought)

  7. Bacon, I had to do a search of the DM website to find that article. Hilarious!

  8. Seriously, why in the hell do these people get away with this shit? Let the prick throw himself on the floor with his Louis V. and pitch a hissy fit. What are they gonna do, yank a kid in a wheelchair out of an elevator? And if they did you could bet your ass as a parent I would be on the phone with every news station and TMZ before they reached the top floor.

  17. I don't get it either they have no legal, military or law enforcement jurisdiction.

But they wear a suit and an ear piece and they get away with this BS like they are the secret service. Or they just use their girth to intimidate the average citizen.

Giuliani used to work in my building years ago. I was in the elevator before him alone and when it got to his floor the bodyguard got in first and he bodyguard looked at me like to get out and I wouldn't budge. Was hoping he would say something.

But old Rudy was nice in the elevator to me. Ever the politician.

  18. I will always remember an incident from when I was just starting out in business and in Spokane, Wa. Associate and I got back to Sheraton hotel in our suits and went to elevator. A bunch of kids milling around (we didn't know that some metal festival was in town). We got on elevator at same time as some young guy and then a couple of kids jumped in. The young guy yelled at them to get off and then looked at us. Turned out it was Lars from Metallica - we had a nice chat up the elevator. We were about the same age and I think he was surprised we didnt' know who he was but we weren't into heavy metal back then (more Eagles/dobbies then.) He offered us tickets but we were flying out that night. Was surprised later to find out how big they were/got.

  19. @Texas, reminds me of the time I was visiting with my uncle and we were going to play a round of golf. He had left his clubs in his office (he was a big deal at a big insurance company) so we went to his office to get them. We're in the elevator with them when it stops and in walks Alice Cooper.

I've met a lot of famous people so I played it cool and he noticed my uncle's golf clubs and asks if we are fixing to play and where we are going. he then says "I hate to impose, but do you mind if I tag along and get a game in? My treat on everything."

So we drove him to the course, played 18 holes then had lunch with one of the greatest entertainers in history. And only after did I say that it was unreal and that "I'm not worthy, I'm scum, I suck!" Ever awesome, he said the only thing that sucked about me was my wedge work lol

    1. Cool story - he is a big golfer. Was it in Phoenix/Scottsdale? It is so easy for celebs to make someone's day and wonder why more don't but playing a round of golf with one serendipitous like that is great.

  20. Alice Cooper was at a resort where my company had a big meeting. A few of us met him in the lounge. He was the nicest guy, I was so impressed. So glad to hear from another how solid he is.

  21. I met him in Scottsdale at the Camelback Mountain Inn Resort.

  22. This was in Ohio, which explains why he didn't know where a good place to play was. IIRC, he was at their offices working on the insurance for a tour he was planning.

It was so cool meeting him and getting him on the phone with my Dad who is such a huge fan of his. My dad actually introduced me to him through the Muppet Show. My Dad was at work (he was a mechanic at Planters Peanuts at the time) and I called his supervisor and told him who I had to talk to him and mess with him about getting in trouble for the call. His supervisor was really good friends with us, so he played along. Dad told me that he was getting in trouble for this so it better be important. I told him it was. I was being held prisoner by someone and only by talking to them would I be set free. Dad told me to quit wasting his time and I said "Fine, I guess you don't want to talk to Alice" He said "Who's Alice". I then said, "This is Alice" handed the phone to Alice and he had a nice conversation and told him the story.

He also gave me an autographed copy of The Last Temptation (which hadn't been released yet) and some pics and various other CD's. My Dad ended up having Planters send him a lot of stuff after he mentioned loving their Cheez Balls and various other stuff.

You know how they say never meet your idols? If my meetings with Alice Cooper, Jack Buck and Ozzie Smith are the norm, that saying is full of crap. Those three guys were the greatest examples of celebrities interacting with fans I have ever heard of.

  23. @Beth (I hear you calling, but I can't come home right now....Sorry i love that song and do a great version of it)

Camelback, huh? I think that was also the name of the rival High School that one of the members of the original Alice Cooper Band went to, which makes that even cooler to me.

  24. If this is Kanye....well I hope he chokes on a Fishstick.

  25. @Hammer_Girl, I always wonder the same thing. Why do people let these idiots get away with this crap? For example, there was a blind recently about how Nicole Richie wouldn't let anyone else get on the elevator with her even though a lot of people were waiting for it. Why didn't they just laugh at her and get on anyways? Who cares what Nicole Richie tells you to do?

All I can figure is that stars tend to have security with them and maybe people get intimidated by that.

    1. Unfortunately people do. Not only that, but a majority of bodyguards have a complex that makes them think they have some kind of pull or authority.

In my former line of work I had to deal with men who thought that because of the line of work they were in they could come in, announce who they were or who they worked for, and that they entitled to immediate benefits that a "common" man had to wait for. If they had the unfortunate luck of dealing with me they quickly realized my father was a commoner, therefore I didn't give a shit if they caught gangrene while they waited their turn.

  27. This was in the Daily News this morning, a version of it. That Kanye and Kim took a section of the seats over at the Union Square movie theatre, and that the bodyguard held an elevator for them and wouldn't let anyone else on it. And the "spywitness" commented, what if there was someone in the wheelchair needing to use it?" Nothing about a 14 yr old with her parents, waiting for an elevator while Kanye yapped on the phone. This blind is BS, ripped off from the Daily News and embellished.

  28. Oh, Yeezus! Stop, plz.

Met Elton John/David Furnish on an elevator in the 90s. Very sweet. David did most of the talking, but Elton gave me a hug when I told him my favorite song of his and why. That part is too personal.

  32. The only time I've ever not shared an elevator like that was when I was at a courthouse. I got on and a gentleman in chains tried to get on but the two cops with him said for me to go ahead and push the button. He seemed so friendly!

Kanye does seem to be riding the crazy train these days
