Four For Friday- Kindness

It is Friday. I hope every one is recovering from your Halloween. Less than four weeks to Thanksgiving. Don't forget to change your clocks tomorrow night before you sleep. Make sure to take advantage of the extra hour of drinking in bars. What else? If you are bored you can always watch the 34th repeat of Secret Societies Of Hollywood on E! tonight. I believe I might be in it five or six times. I will be here all weekend blogging away with reveals and blind items and counting down the two months remaining until Reveal Day.

You don't hear from this actor very much any longer. Not that old but he has kind of gravitated away from acting because of his charity work. He was on a very hot show for a very long time and then stepped into some more good luck on a very very popular cable show which made sure he won't ever have to work again. He has a great partner who was one of the biggest movie stars in the world at one point which was achieved despite any real acting talent.

Our actor has used his money and grants from others to fly people around the world building homes in some of the most impoverished places on earth. His group which is similar to Habitats For Humanity has built about 1000 homes for families. They have also built schools and hospitals and really focus on areas of the world which have nothing. He tries to give them something. he also makes sure not to leave empty buildings and tries to stock each house or school or hospital with every thing it needs to have to succeed.

It is pretty cool that he is willing to give up a fairly successful career to focus on others.

  2. That is pretty amazing. I don't have a clue who it could be but would love to know.

  3. What would qualify as a very very popular cable show? Are we talking HBO and Showtime stuff or any of the basic channels that come with a subscription (AMC,FX,Comedy Central..etc)?

    Agreed azure, very cool.

  5. The charity work sounds like Jeff Fahey to me. Lost would be his hot show, not sure about the cable show. Don't know if it all fits, but I know he is quite altruistic.

  6. How about the guy from Monk. Tony Shaloob?? He was also on Wings.

  7. Does Sinuse fit? I don't remember what shows he was on but he has been revealed as being awesome.

  8. I would love if this was Tony Shalhoub, but he's been very steadily working since Monk ended.

  9. I love when someone who has been amazingly lucky gives back, unlike some who feel its due them.
This is especially great because he's not looking to promote himself…
    Can't wait for the reveal

    1. @jessi I think you nailed it. I had no idea these two were together. I'll second this guess!

    2. I like that guess. He does voiceover work for commercials too. Walgreen's and I believe Applebee's.

    3. Cosigning this guess, great job!

  13. Ummmm, why does this need to be blind?

  14. However, I really have no clue if he ever did charities. Off to look.

  15. Wow...@Jessie. I think you did totally nail it.

  16. I"m not so sure it's John Corbett (although a great guess). He does a lot of commercial voice-overs (Applebee's, Walgreens) and still does act.

  17. John Corbett sounds good, maybe he just does stuff here and there for fun? Are Applebee's vos fun? Anyway, I'm glad he does this, but it would be rad if he did this in America. Plenty of people could use assistance. :)

  18. i think corbett's a good guess. his partner could just be bo.

  19. but after that he went straight to HBO's United STates of Tara

  20. Yes why is this a blind item? These people deserve to get credit. Wonderful whoever it is.

  21. John Corbett mostly fits....very hot show for a very long time? Northern Exposure (5 yrs)....check.

Very very popular cable show? Sex in the City. Would that make him enough in residuals so that he never really has to work again? Note Enty doesn't say he DOESN'T work again, only that he won't ever HAVE to. I'd give a check here.

One of the biggest starts in the world at one point with no acting talent? DEFINITELY Bo Derek, his long term gf. CHECK.

    Nice job @Jessi

  22. John Corbett was due to star in an "NCIS" spinoff called "Red." It was supposed to debut this fall but it didn't get picked up. If it had been, he would be working steadily now. Also, it seems hard to believe that he'd have earned enough from SATC so that he wouldn't have to work again, since he wasn't a lead on that show.

  23. ^Yeah, but you're forgetting about Northern Exposure. He was the lead wasn't he? Plus I think it went syndicated. Big time checks for John. This guess is perfect for John. Good job Jessi!

  24. Sorry Reno, you're wrong. Rob Morrow, who played Dr. Joel Fleischman, was the lead in Northern Exposure.

  25. Gary Sinise does this for disabled veterans, but that's fairly well-known.

  26. Sounds like somebody did some soul-searching and discovered the true meaning of living. helping others.

  27. Not Corbett. He's also been touring around playing music. Last month he played the dive bar near my apartment. A friend was there and said he was a self-important dick.

  28. PLEASE JUST TELL US!!! Why is dishing dirt totally open but not this?

I want to know so I can help the cause and know who the good guys are!
