Last night Will Ferrell said there would be no Elf 2. Should there be one? I say no because I don't know where they could take it. Santa dies and Buddy takes over?
Santa could retire (like that hasn't been done). Or it could be about Buddy's kids. Having said that, a sequal isn't necessary at all. Elf is a near perfect classic imo, I love that movie.
I was so excited to see Elf on premium cable when it came on, because of all the raves. My son was quite young at the time, too, so perfect demo. We all turned it off after 15 minutes. I just don't get the appeal.
Its been over a year . I need to watch that movie again...That and bad santa..I cant even remember what happened in bad santa--only that its funny as hell..
Elf is an extremely divisive movie for my extended family. Every Christmas Eve there's a faction that wants to watch and one that doesn't. I guess you either loves or hate it. I love it, Mr. Nom does NOT. My cousin can quote almost the entire script, my brother once hid the DVD. Fighting over "Elf" has become a new family tradition!
Hell, I'm not happy there was an "Elf 1!"
ReplyDeleteSeriously? I thought everyone loved elf...I think ive watched it a hundred times with my nephews and we still cry tears on certain parts.
DeleteI'd rather have a root canal without Novocain. But I hate those kind of movies, maybe it's great?
DeleteI think it's the worst movie in existence.
DeleteNo. Chances of Will Ferrel making 2 watchable movies is nill.
ReplyDeleteWill Ferrell's appeal escapes me, so no.
ReplyDeleteSanta dying is NOT funny.
ReplyDeleteThat said, I am just not in the holiday spirit this year.

ReplyDeleteI love Will Ferrell in everything except Elf.. that cheesy movie was a let down.
ReplyDeleteI reallly hope he makes a Step Brothers or Land of the Lost II.. John C. Reilly and Danny McBride are hilarious

ReplyDeleteI freaking love that movie. Will Ferell is hilarious in it. There should not be a second one though.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE BUDDY! Make another one!
ReplyDeleteOnly a Cotton Headed Ninny Muggins would make an Elf 2.
ReplyDeleteWait. Who says Santa dying can't be funny?
ReplyDelete(Fast Forward to the 20 minute mark.)
@Jason Blue Eyes
DeleteYa got me there. That's pretty funny.
Bad Santa is one of my favs.
"No" to a sequel.

I think they should make it. The first Elf did fairly well. I liked it.
ReplyDeleteThey definitely should do a, "Bad Santa II". I know he's an ass, but Billy Bob is sexy in some incomprehensible way.
love it
ReplyDeletewatch it every year
would watch Elf 2 too
I'm with ya @MadLyb about BBT and Bad Santa.
ReplyDeleteLove Elf but I just can't see a sequel. Leave it alone!
ReplyDeleteIt's almost always a mistake to make a sequel. (BTW, A Christmas Story 2 is terrible.) Leave it alone.
ReplyDeleteELF is now a must-see at Christmas. It truly is the Christmas Spirit, innocence and all.
ReplyDeletePlease, no ELF 2. It won't work.
