The Professor And Reuben Kincaid Have Died

Classic television suffered a huge loss yesterday when both The Professor and Reuben Kincaid died.

The Professor, aka Russell Johnson started his careers in Westerns but will always be known for his portrayal of the only person with any sense on Gilligan's Island. He was 89.

Also passing away yesterday was Dave Madden who played the seemingly always exasperated manager of the Partridge Family. He was 82.

There was a Gilligan's Island marathon last night on TV Land, starting with episode #1.

I just loved the Professor and I grew up watching. Occasionally over the years Howard Stern would call him up and they would just chat about his life and what he was doing now. Howard would always ask him questions about his cast members from Gilligan's Island.

Such a nice guy.

I have to admit watching the Professor was an inspiration for me going after my Engineering degree. He got to make so many cool things out of nothing.

Aww, that's sad. The Professor was the original Macgyver.

Me too! He was a handsome man.

I always thought the Professor and Ginger would have made the best kids, smart and gorgeous.

I love Mr. Kincaid, and I liked him on "Alice," too. He was apparently a surrogate father for Danny Bonaduce, and very nice and funny from what I've read. (Big PF fan here.)

Let's also remember that Dave Madden was an original on Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In.
