Two And A Half Men Ending It's Run Next Season
After twelve seasons and only one man left standing, CBS is finally going to pull the plug on the long running show. One more year to cash in those huge paychecks before the actors will have to scramble and look for work like the rest of Hollywood. Hopefully they saved the vast majority of it or Jon Cryer will be doing a dinner version of Pretty In Pink and Ashton will be hosting Punk'd episodes again. If you needed a way to get through a very long airplane flight, watching episodes of the show are a great way to pass the time. Was it ever appointment television for me? No. It must have been for some people though because it used to be the number one show in the country and its ratings are still stronger than many other shows airing each week. I don't think there is any place left to go for the writers or any kind of story arc they haven't explored. It will be interesting to see if Chuck Lorre and Charlie Sheen end their blood feud long enough to have Charlie make a guest appearance. He could play a ghost or be in some kind of dream sequence. Maybe the final episode will have him wake up in bed next to Heather Locklear with Michael J Fox standing over them. Hey, it would certainly get your attention.
I only caught the last line...
ReplyDeleteAnd I disagree.
Apparently, they are planning some sort of season-long finale, like How I Met Your Mother. Because no one HATED that.... *side eye*
ReplyDeleteI do not know one single person that has ever watched this. Except me. Once. And I didn't laugh once the entire episode.
ReplyDeleteI stopped watching when Charlie started losing his mind. I found it hard to look at him physically decay.
ReplyDeleteHow could it be appointment television for you Enties? You're too busy watching Housewives, DWTS, Teen Mom, etc.
ReplyDeleteCharlie already looks like he died years ago & no one told him, so playing a ghost could be his best work yet
ReplyDeleteEnding ITS run, not it's run. "It's" is a contraction for "it is" and would not make sense in this sentence.
ReplyDeleteThe only episode I flipped to one time I didn't stay long enough to make it to a commercial. Cheese overload.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Cece. I was just about to go grammar police on Enty.
ReplyDeleteIt was a funny show but i cld never enjoy it because it was so close to who he is. Dont watch much network tv anyway. Matter of fact, there is no abc, nbc or cbs show i watch.
ReplyDeleteIts run ended long ago, on Planet Kno Won.
ReplyDeleteAll memory of its existence was subsequently vaporized by Kuntcher.
Never watched it and won't miss it.
ReplyDeleteOh crap we have to use correct grammar?!?!
ReplyDeleteI'm sunk!
I don't think Ashton has to worry about money, like ever.
Jon on the other hand..
And I really liked the HIMYM ending.
Haha - JoElla, I don't care a bit about the grammar of commenters! It would be nice, though, if maybe the originator of a website used a way of writing that was concise and grammatically sound. Might even add more credence to the site.
DeleteProudly I've never watched. Shame that I used to watch all the hw but no longer entertained.
ReplyDeleteCharlie Sheen's character was always the half man. When he left, so did the half man and me as a viewer. In it's current state, it is too painful to watch because it is NOT funny anymore.
ReplyDeleteHowever, Anger Management is funny!
The apostrophe in the headline is incorrect--looks like someone needs to learn the difference between its and it's.
ReplyDeleteLooks like cece was on it first. :)
ReplyDeleteI hope Jon Cryer lands on his feet. He had to put up with some serious shit and was very discreet about everything Charlie.
ReplyDeleteMore likely to wake up in bed with MJ Fox and having H Locklear standing over them.
ReplyDeleteITS not IT'S !!!
ReplyDeleteBut isn't 'it's' being used as a possessive in this sentence -- not as a contraction?
ReplyDeleteSally, I think that is exactly what most people think and that would seem to make sense. Unfortunately, the English language sometimes does not make sense and breaks its own rules all the time. I would hate to learn it as a second language!
DeleteGot it -- thanks!
DeleteJon Cryer will never have to work another day in his life.
ReplyDeletePlease, trying to make him look pathetic is ridiculous.
been on too long........
ReplyDeleteliked it back in the day before Charlie lost it.....
One of my dirty little secrets is that I loved it till Charlie left. It was the only show I would make sure to see every week.
ReplyDeleteNever have seen even one minute of one episode.
ReplyDelete@cece, thank you!
ReplyDelete"It's" ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS means "it is". If you can't replace the word with the phrase "it is" and still have the sentence make sense, use "its".
"That computer? It's lost its mind." ;-)
As with so many series, the first couple seasons were quite funny. After that it went downhill quick.
ReplyDeleteGood riddance. Truly awful show.
ReplyDeleteOk -- now who can clear up effect vs affect? Ha ha
ReplyDeleteThe effects of poor grammar may affect the way others perceive you.
DeleteI tried. Prob should be the other way around. It's confusing. But I think the time of night is having a direct affect on my abity to answer effectively. Night night.
Delete"Effect" is a noun. "Affect" is a verb.
DeleteIts vs. It's
ReplyDeleteEasy way to remember is to group them with their counterparts.
Pronouns:
Its, his, hers
Contractions:
It's = Short for "it is"
i hope they all fade into oblivion. that stupid show has gone on way too long.
ReplyDeleteI have seen several episodes and it never made me crack a smile.
ReplyDeleteSheen was always sleep walking through this show, when he was using again heavily just couldn't watch this mess at all anymore. The jokes are beyone sexist or misogynistic.
ReplyDelete@Sally, Two and a Half Men ending it's run will not affect my weekly TV Viewing habits. The effect the show has had on the morals of the country have been horrendous.
ReplyDeleteGoing out on a limb here...I love it! The maid, the mom, Alan being a mooch, Charlie playing himself - and even after A$$ton joined and I got over the change, I loved it...not saying I have great taste, I just enjoyed it!
ReplyDeleteDid anyone watch this year? Alan owned the season and he almost got the girl!! I was so sad he didn't!!
I found the restart made Alan too pathetic and subtextually gay, which was sad, not funny. If this year was better, that's good, but I checked out last year.
ReplyDeleteI find the show and the sexual innuendo hilarious. It's not art, just good laughs
ReplyDeleteI'll come clean. I watch reruns when they're on while I'm working. I liked it with Charlie, but I can't stomach Ashton. I hope Cryer finds another gig. I do like him!
ReplyDelete"It's" = "it is" or "it has"
ReplyDeleteYa know what makes me really stabby?? No. Not Throat Punch Thursdays, or Twat Waddle Wednesdays, not even Garot a Bitch Weekends (those are extremely rare).
ReplyDeleteIts Grammer PoPo's!!
That's part of Enty's charm. That and the lack or misuse of punctuation. It gives us that much more to bitch about so we don't have more days like those I mentioned above. Just chant "Ohm" and calm the FUCK DOWN!!
Thank you.
*It's
Delete*PoPos or PoPoes.
;)
Bring back Megan Fox and I might watch.
ReplyDelete Oh Ducky...you just keep doing you
ReplyDeleteCryer and Kutcher are both set for life. Kutcher actually has more money at this point because of all his tech investments and producing credits.
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, it's its. Stupid, stupid high-school dropout Enty.
@JoElla - so YOU are the one person on the whole planet who liked the HIMYM ending? I hate you. LOL Kidding, but it must be nice to get the ending you wanted. I sure didn't!
@LowKey, I know :)
ReplyDeleteI was fucking with their little minds that are wound to tight with a weak rubber band. When thing blow, it's going to be Fireworks!
That or they don't care and will continue to Bitch On!
It's all good either way. "OHM"
I'm a Rerun Ho. I don't even mind Walden, though Charlue was better, I just fancy Ashton
