Blind Item #1

This married foreign born mostly movie actor would probably be A list if he did more press here or got papped more frequently. He is a really good actor who also happens to have been in some of the biggest movies of all time. Anyway, the guy is supposedly squeaky enough that he has never made a ripple in the tabloids or even been in this space before. That changes though now because while he was away from his wife promoting his latest movie he stayed at a hotel and arranged for a massage. Nothing wrong with that but he didn't want a massage from a hotel staffer. Nope. He wanted one from someone who was more willing to do perform sexual favors. He gave the concierge $500 just to make all the calls and the masseuse got $1000 for her efforts.

  1. Christian Bale is not squeaky clean, what with the anger issues.

    2. Has Colin Firth been in some of the biggest movies of all time? I know he was in King's Speech but has he been in franchise movies that I can't remember.

    3. Not franchise movies, but he was in Bridget Jones's Diary and Love Actually.

  5. ooh...i like Sandybrook's guess of Pierce Brosnan. you would think he is "A"

  6. Bale is A list, if not A+

  7. Pierce Brosnan is a good guess except for the "good actor" part. He's good in very limited roles.

  8. Brosnan was James Bond, how is he not Former A+ or permanent A?

    ReplyDelete
  9. I always thought any actor who was James Bond more than once is automatic A. :( But he definitely fits and the movie came out today (and got poor reviews)

  10. Martin Freeman/the Hobbit franchise

    ReplyDelete
  11. I don't think Freeman is married

I'm trying to make Ray Winstone work, he was just in Noah.

  12. Kermit the Frog, ironing out some of those kinks...

  13. Freeman is marrried a long time@vera

  14. Imdb says - Has two children - a son, Joe, and a daughter, Grace - with longtime partner, Amanda Abbington. Which I interpret as not married.

  15. Pierce is promoting a movie

    ReplyDelete
  16. Could this be James MacAvoy? He is promoting his latest film Eleanor Rigby with Jessica Chastain. He was in New York City recently too.

  17. Not Ian McKellern, blind says 'her '. Could be Martin Freeman, though I would call him movie/TV.

How about Geoffrey Rush? POTC franchise etc.

    1. Bardem has been the subject of at least one blind that I know of (f*ing Julie Roberts during filming for one) so I don't thinks it's him.
I like Colin Firth for this one.

  19. @torie nailed it w/mAcovoy IMO
    Great guess

  20. I disagree with the idea that if you play James Bond you are a permanent A. Unless you mean name recognition but even that is debatable. I grew up with Roger Moore playing James Bond but he really hasn't done much beyond that. If he had continued his career like Sean Connery he would at least have ongoing name recognition.

Daniel Craig has greatly raised the stakes as to what makes a legendary Bond. Of course you have to give props to the writers and directors as well. The entire caliber of the Bond franchise has improved 100% since Brosnan. Pierce was okay as 007 but he never seemed more than a movie version Remington Steele in the part. I'd put him at a solid B myself.

  21. McAvoy is a great guess because he's really good actor contrary to Pierce Brosnam( sorry Pierce but you're kind)

    ReplyDelete
  22. What happened to paying for discretion? $500 isn't enough for the concierge's silence? Or did the masseuse talk?

    ReplyDelete
  23. i disagree about brosnan's talent as an actor. he's done a lot of things besides bond, and he's an excellent actor. he's good at comedy too.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I like the Pierce guess.

...and so what? If it's just a rub and tug...whatever.

  25. firth is squeaky clean publicly

    ReplyDelete
  26. I'm thinking Firth for this one.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I'm on the Firth train for this, he's more squeaky clean than Pierce....I don't know why.

I gotta say sumthin. I don't know who McAvoy is.

OT. I saw a pic of Pratt and I finally thought he looked attractive. Yayy. I feel so much better now.

  28. Guy Pearce you numpties. Ignore my guess all you want but he is foreign, squeaky clean and has been in Prometheus, Iron Man 3,The Kings Speech. And is hardly ever papped.

    ReplyDelete
  29. McAvoy just got married though I think.

    Please not Colin.

But you know I hate to say this I'd rather the hubby get a rub and tug etc where it seems purely a business transaction than an affair. It is not easy being separated from your spouse for long periods of time even if you are in love and the marriage is mostly good. She may even know about it and not have a problem. Long as he is being safe.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I do think this is McAvoy, and whatever, maybe he's been away for a long time promoting and just wanted a little rub and tug.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Colin Firth is TOTALLY A-list. Oscar winner and all...

I like the James McAvoy guess!

    ReplyDelete
  32. I don't think it's Colin Firth. He does do press for his films here in the US.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I sort of like the McAvoy guess, but I'll throw out Brendan Gleeson, who's an incredible actor and has a movie out here.

    ReplyDelete
  34. James Macavoy has been married for awhile-not just married

    ReplyDelete
  35. Please not James McAvoy. I love Anne-Marie Duff.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I like Violet's guess.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I don't have a guess, but chiming in to agree with @Tina Mallette. I wouldn't mind too much if my husband got a happy ending, either. I mean, I think for men especially it can be as big a stress reliever as the massage itself. That situation is not an affair or even "sex" IMO.

  38. There's some guy I never heard of, foreign born, who apparently is connected by very few degrees of separation to just about everybody in Hollywood. As in the way people play with Kevin Bacon degrees of separation. He has been in a crapload of movies and literally nobody has ever heard of him. I wonder if he's the guy.

OK, I went looking for him. So the people who keep the Kevin Bacon stats say that you can calculate the average "Bacon Number" in Hollywood and for Kevin Bacon himself it's 2.994. Then they calculated the average number for EVERYBODY on IMDB and found that 369 people have better Hollywood connections than Kevin Bacon.

Read the "how it works" page on their site to see how they do the calculation. It's all automated.

Anyway, the guy with the lowest number for all of hollywood is Harvey Keitel.

And at #5 (so I was wrong about him being the MOST connected guy, but he's still the most connected guy you and I have probably never heard of) is - UDO KIER.

The Center of the Hollywood Universe

    ReplyDelete
  39. Sorry, I got Bacon's number slightly wrong and Udo Kier is #6 on the "Center of the Universe" list, not #5.

  40. Just to be different, I'd like to suggest Hugo Weaving.

  41. @Tina & @ Moving On: Y'all cool w/ just the handy or BJ or anything that is an emotionless paid transaction?

    ReplyDelete
  42. P.S. For a grand, dude got much more than a handy. Probably a 3 hole bone a thon

    ReplyDelete
  43. Interesting Hugo Weaving guess. He's never papped and was in the Matrix and LotR movies. Nigerian born, Aussie raised, promoting a new film. Not married, though.

And yeah, apparently whoever it is didn't pay enough to keep the lips zipped. Or E is playing the usual fast and loose with salacious InTouch-style reporting.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Cillian Murphy (married, foreign born, killer actor, Batman trilogy)?

    ReplyDelete
  45. I bet the hotel called the "massage parlor" that Asston owns. Sad.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Tried to make Tom Hardy to work, but not married.

Freeman makes some sense, but just won an emmy. His three main credits are the hobbit, the office and sherlock. So I would call him mostly TV.

Plus never forget his amazing cameo in Black Books! Oh yeah rewatch that first episode.
