Really talented man. So sad.
ReplyDeleteRIP. Way too young.
ReplyDeletebut you're quite scraping the bottom of the celeb barrel - someone who finished 8th in 2007?
Season 7 was the best season though and Michael Johns was a big part of it. He left a huge impression on a lot of us. I still listen to his cover of Its All Wrong, But It's Alright. A genuinely talented, sexy and humble man.
Deleteor series 7, whenever that was.
ReplyDeleteThat's pretty sad. If only those incompetent doctors taken him seriously and done x-rays or an ultrasound, he would still be alive. RIP.
ReplyDeleteI actually remember him. I liked his voice. So so sad. His poor family and friends.
ReplyDeleteI remember him, too. That was when Idol was huge, Violet. Nice comment. I have a feeling there will be a fat lawsuit with this one. He was extremely handsome with a great voice. Sad, indeed.
ReplyDeleteThis passing is made worse by the fact that it was absolutely avoidable. Terrible oversight by the Dr.. he was cute and seemed sweet. RIP
ReplyDeleteSo sad. Prayers to his family and friends. I never watched Australian Idol, but he looks familiar. Was he in anything else I might have seen?
ReplyDeleteOh I understand now where I recognized him from. He was Australian and was on American Idol, not on Australian Idol. I was up too late and now up too early, so my brain is foggy.
ReplyDeleteHe was a lovely person. And I don't think posting this was scraping the bottom of the celebrity barrel.
ReplyDeleteRIP Michael. One of my favorites from the days idol was still a great show
@Jessie I agree that this wasn't scraping the bottom of the celebrity barrel.
ReplyDeleteFrom all accounts this was a really nice guy who was still actively performing.
RIP Michael.
RIP So sad, so unnecessary and so so young. Hardly scraping bottom of the barrel. What a strange comment, especially on a free site. Thanks Enty for letting us know.
ReplyDeleteWhat a terrible tragedy. Wishing Peace to Michael and his family.
ReplyDeleteRIP. I know I am being cyncial but are we so desperate for 24/7 news that it is national news when a guy that finished in eight place from season seven of a show so past its prime it should be cancelled dies?
ReplyDeleteHe was considered a front runner and it was a big shock when he was voted off. I haven't watched idol in 5 years but I immediately remembered Michael Johns.
DeleteThis is really sad. He was like Chris Daughtry (sp?) - voted off way too soon.
ReplyDeleteHe worked with David Foster (saw him in one of Foster's PBS specials - he was outstanding). He also worked with Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe to feed the hungry and other charities.
From all accounts a really good person and evidently died a very preventable death.
As for bottom of the barrel, he was definitely not there. That spot is reserved for Lohan (all of them), Whoredashians (all of them), all of the Real Housewives of whatever, etc.
Eh, from a standpoint of what I do for a living not all things are detectable in an early stage. Especially if he'd never complained or had it looked at. Plenty of us may very well have blood clots as we speak with no pain or warning until it's too late. I'm not defending anyone but while it's avoidable, it's not always easily detectable. I know of patients who went in for just a routine checkup with tests and found out about blood clots. Some are accompanied by pain, some are not. It's hard for diabetics to really distinguish pain therefore a lot suffer "silent heart attacks." Sorry to be so wordy. And I don't mean to step on toes.
ReplyDeleteThose are good points Courtney. I read that he had previously hurt his ankle and then had recently gone in complaining about abnormal swelling and pain and they just sent him home. It's just sad all around.
ReplyDeleteThanks Reno. I don't wanna defend or lambast anyone especially since I don't know the full story. I just know from what I do that not everything's always crystal clear and clean cut. Plus, sadly, a lot of people don't know the appropriate questions to ask or they do but aren't comfortable asking. If you feel as if something's truly wrong and you ask your dr and they brush you off, keep pushing. Don't stop until you get some answers and peace of mind.
ReplyDeleteHow very sad :( I'm not at all familiar with his music but no matter; he's still left this earth at far too young an age. RIP Michael.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't a fan of his but I remember him from that season of Idol. Definitely not the bottom of the barrel.
ReplyDeleteApparently, he had complained about his foot/leg hurting, and a family friend took him to the ER. What happened beyond that, I haven't read. But Michael did seek medical attention at some point, it appears.
ReplyDeleteIdol was still at its peak when Michael was on, and he was pretty popular during his time. His elimination was considered the shock of the season, and it's believed it served as the catalyst of creating the judges' save that's been part of the show ever since.
Michael wasn't a big star, but he toured consistently and hadn't succumbed to any of the usual celebrity trappings. By all accounts, he was a really nice guy.
RIP to him, and condolences to his family/friends.
@Unknown. You are the voice of reason.
ReplyDeleteI loved his version of Across the Universe. So sad. He seemed like a nice guy. I saw how many of fellow contestants from all season were upset on twitter from another site. May he RIP.
