David Cassidy Is Going To Drink And Drive Again

While I hope that David Cassidy never drinks and drives again, I think he will. Yesterday he was in New York and was sentenced to 50 hours of community service for his latest DUI charge. When asked by reporters about it he said he wasn't happy about the result but at least he wasn't going to jail. The guy needs jail. When you can walk away from what seems like your millionth DUI charge and get just 50 hours of community service, I don't know how you can feel like you didn't like the result. Maybe jail would have sobered him up. In one of his DUI sentences he was ordered to go to rehab so maybe that helped, but if you told me that after court yesterday he went to a bar and threw back a few drinks I would believe you. he reminds me of Gary Collins, who kept repeatedly getting busted for DUI and eventually David Cassidy will get busted again. Hopefully it won't be because he just killed someone.

  2. "He is going to kill drink and drive again" is not the same as "I think he is going to drink and drive again".

That said, they got a name for people like you, David Cassidy.

  3. Reloading the page and seeing his giant smirky face is irritating me.

  4. 50 hrs of picking up trash or sorting clothes at the Goodwill (a friend of mine got that one) will make your ass think twice about getting behind the wheel after drinking. Or at least one hopes.

  5. Hes a chronic drunk like his old man. While i feel for the addict, he has to prevented from dwi and killing someone. I saw a show once, Jail, dont judge me- and this 30 ish drunk came in, nasty. Well after 6 hours or so, he sobered up, and they had to tell him he had killed someone. He was DEVASTATED! Kept asking who and felt so awful even cop felt for him. So thats a lesson for a drunk; sober you has to take care of what drunk you does.

  7. @Sherry, I respectfully beg to differ- that's not anything that'd deter him when he feels the compulsion to drink again- & HE WILL GET THAT COMPULSION-he needs to go to Drunk Driver's Victim's Impact Meetings w/maimed survivors &/or family members- He also needs an auto-lock installed in his car for when he gets his license reinstated so he has to blow into ignition straw in order for it to start-any alcohol on his breath-it won't start.

  8. I will never understand why people with the means to have their own personal driver don't have one. This dude still performs, right? Couldn't he have a chauffeur written into his contract? (Also, I had the biggest crush on Keith Partridge when I was really young. Dude was gorgeous!!)

  9. UBER takes too long & isn't readily available when you need to get alcohol & it's 8:45pm

  10. I think he has a DUI case pending in CA even more recent than this.

  11. Coming from a family of alcoholics, I know firsthand the lies alcoholics believe. I had an uncle who had a list of DUI's as long as both of his arms put together--he swore up and down he drove better drinking a beer than sober. I am not kidding. You can't tell alcoholics nothing.

  14. I agree with the comment about installing the breathalyzer device onto the ignition. Installing it on every car at his residence and making him pay that out of his pocket. Btw with his history of DUI's how is it that he has a drivers license at all?

I don't think community service is going to force him to change his ways at all. Jail would make a MUCH bigger impact on him. He's playing Russian Roulette with his and others lives.

  15. If he kills someone, I hope their family beats him within an inch of his life. Then lets him heal then does it all over again. NO EXCUSE for drunk driving. NONE.

  16. He looks completely lit in the picture. Pray God the guy doesn't kill someone the next time, because there will be a next time.

  18. I don't understand US DUI laws or the variations of the states - Enty does not mention if Cassidy's licence was suspended, you get 1 year suspension on first DUI offence here in addition to a 90 day suspension when you are charged, and second offence we say bring your toothbrush to court, ie you are going to jail for 30 days no discretion, 3rd offence 120 days no discretion - when you get your licence back, after first offence, if you can find an insurer you are looking at $8 - $10,000 for one year premium, what happens if you have more than one DUI??? I am not sure if you will be insurable?

If you look into his background, specifically that of his dad, you can see why he's so messed up. A closest actor (of which his kids didn't learn of until after his death), who was bi-polar, an alcoholic himself, had multiple psychiatric breaks including being institutionalized. He died being burned alive in an apartment fire started by a cigarette he dropped after he fell asleep. The stuff Hollywood nightmare families of made of.

I just hope he gets out of my neighborhood now if he continues to drink. Though I will be looking for him in a little reflecty vest on the side of the road!

  23. W.C Fields. Now there was a classy, old school drunk who owned it.
Drink and drive? I have no patience for this. Get an effing taxi, or stay at home. It's ultimately selfish and dangerous. Ever worked with survivors of MVA? ABI's etc. SELFISH.

  24. Remember when he was superhot? Way back in the 70s. Everyone I knew (in 2nd grade) loved Shaun but I thought David was an even bigger babe. Now, EW!!!
